⁹ You care for the land and water it; you greatly enrich it. The stream of God is filled with waters. You provide their grain, for so you have established it.

¹ A Psalm by David, when he was in the desert of Judah. God, you are my God. I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.

¹¹ You crown the year with your bounty. Your carts overflow with abundance.

⁹ You caused abundant rain to fall, O God. When your inheritance was weary you revived it. ¹⁰ Your creatures dwell in it; You have in Your goodness prepared for the poor.

¹³ He watereth the mountains from his upper-chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works. ¹⁴ He causes grass to sprout for the cattle and plants for people to cultivate, to produce food from the land, ¹⁵ and wine that gladdens the heart of man and oil to make his face to shine and bread that strengthens man's heart.

⁸ He covers the sky with clouds. He provides rain for the ground. He makes grass grow on the mountains. ⁹ He provides food for the livestock, and for the young ravens when they call.

¹⁴ He grants peace within your borders, satisfying you with the finest of wheat.

²⁴ They don't say in their heart, 'Let's now fear the LORD our God, who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season, who preserves to us the appointed weeks of the harvest.'

²² Can any of the worthless gods of the nations make it rain? Can the heavens themselves bring forth showers? Aren't you the one who does this, LORD our God? So we hope in you, for you are the one who does all these things.

²³ Be glad, O children of Zion, be glad and rejoice in the LORD your God, because he has given for you the autumn rains for your righteousness, and he has poured down for you rainwater, the autumn and spring rains, as before. ²⁴ The threshing floors will be full of wheat, and the vats will overflow with new wine and oil. ²⁵ "Then I will restore to you the years that the locust swarm devoured, as did the young locust, the other locusts, and the ravaging locust, that great army of mine that I sent among you. ²⁶ You will have plenty to eat, and be satisfied, and will praise the name of the LORD, your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and my people will never be put to shame.

¹⁷ Yet He has not left Himself without testimony to His goodness: He gives you rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.”
