¹ the LORD called to Moses, and spoke to him from the Tent of Meeting, saying, ² »Tell the Israelites: ‘When you bring an offering to the LORD, bring your offering of animals from the herd or the flock. ³ “'If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer a male without defect. He shall offer it at the door of the Tent of Meeting, that he may be accepted before the LORD. ⁴ " 'He must lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering and it will be accepted for him in order to make atonement for him. ⁵ He must slaughter the young bull before the LORD, then Aaron's sons, the priests, will present the blood and sprinkle the blood all around the altar that is at the door of the tent of assembly. ⁶ He shall skin the burnt offering, and cut it into pieces. ⁷ The sons of Aaron the priest will put fire on the altar and arrange the wood on the fire. ⁸ Then Aaron's sons, the priests, will arrange the pieces of meat, the head, and the suet on the wood that is on the fire that is on the altar. ⁹ but he shall wash its innards and its legs with water. The priest shall burn all of it on the altar, for a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to the LORD. ¹⁰ And if the offering be of the flocks, a holocaust of sheep or of goats, he shall offer a male without blemish. ¹¹ He must slaughter it on the north side of the altar before the LORD; then Aaron's sons, the priests, will sprinkle its blood all around the altar. ¹² then they shall cut it in quarters and the priests shall lay these with the head and the suet on the wood which is on the fire on the altar; ¹³ But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest shall bring it all, and burn it on the altar: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet smell to the LORD. ¹⁴ "'If his offering to the LORD is a burnt offering of birds, then he shall offer his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons. ¹⁵ The priest shall bring it to the altar, and wring off its head, and burn it on the altar; and its blood shall be drained out on the side of the altar; ¹⁶ He must remove its crop with its plumage and throw it to the east beside the altar on the place of the fatty ashes. ¹⁷ He shall tear it by its wings, but shall not divide it apart. The priest shall burn it on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire. It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to the LORD.

³ Then Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain: "This is what you shall say to the house of Jacob and declare to the sons of Israel,

¹ The LORD said to Moses, "Come up to the LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship at a distance. ² And Moses alone will come near to the LORD, and they will not come near, and the people will not go up with him."

¹² The LORD said to Moses, "Come up to me on the mountain, and stay here, and I will give you the tables of stone with the law and the commands that I have written, that you may teach them."

²² "I will be above the throne of mercy between the angels whenever I meet with you. I will give you all my commandments for the Israelites.

⁴² It shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the Tent of Meeting before the LORD, where I will meet with you, to speak there to you.

⁷ Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far away from the camp, and he called it “The Tent of Meeting.” Everyone who sought the LORD went out to the Tent of Meeting, which was outside the camp.

³² So all the work on the inner tent of the tent of meeting was now done. The Israelites obeyed all the LORD's instructions to Moses.

³⁴ Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. ³⁵ Moses was not able to enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

⁸⁹ When Moses went into the Tent of Meeting to speak with the LORD, he heard his voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the ark of the Testimony, from between the two cherubim: and he spoke to him.

¹⁷ For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

³ As time went by, Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD.

⁵ but to Cain and to his offering he did not look with favor. And Cain became very angry, and his face fell.

¹⁸ "Speak to Aaron, his sons, and all the Israelites, and tell them: ‘Israelites or foreigners may bring burnt offerings to the LORD for anything they vowed or as freewill offerings. ¹⁹ "'The offering must be a male that has no defects from your cattle, sheep, or goats in order to be accepted.

²⁹ Give to the LORD the glory due to his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

¹ Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

⁶ We have different gifts according to the grace given us. If someone’s gift is prophecy, let him use it in proportion to his faith;

² and walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

²⁰ Noah built an altar to the LORD and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it.

² He said, “Now take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go into the land of Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of.”

⁸ And Abraham said, "God will provide the lamb for a burnt offering, my son." And the two of them went together.

¹³ Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in the bushes. So he took the ram and sacrificed it in place of his son.

⁵ Your lamb is to be a year old male without blemish. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats.

⁵ He sent young Israelite men to offer up burnt offerings and sacrifice bulls as peace offerings to the LORD.

⁴ You shall bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the Tent of Meeting, and wash them with water.

¹⁸ You shall burn the whole ram on the altar: it is a burnt offering to the LORD; it is a pleasant aroma, an offering made by fire to the LORD.

⁶ Early the next day the people sacrificed burnt offerings and brought peace offerings. After that they sat down to a feast, which turned into an orgy.

⁵ 'Take from among yourselves an offering for the LORD. Everyone whose heart is willing shall bring it as an offering for the LORD: gold, silver, and bronze;

²¹ and every person whose heart moved him and all whose spirits prompted them, brought an offering to the LORD for constructing the Tent of Meeting, for all its service, and for the holy garments.

²⁹ Each Israelite man and woman whose heart was prompted brought something as a freewill offering to the LORD for all the work which the LORD had commanded them to do through Moses.

³ They received from Moses all the offerings that the Israelites had brought for doing the work of constructing the sanctuary, and the people continued to bring freewill offerings every morning.

¹ He made the altar for burnt offerings out of acacia wood seven and one half feet square and four and one half feet high.

¹ "'If his offering is a sacrifice of peace offerings; if he offers it from the herd, whether male or female, he shall offer it without blemish before the LORD.

²³ when his sin is showed unto him which he hath sinned, he shall bring for his offering a he goat without blemish,

⁹ "Command Aaron and his sons, saying, 'This is the regulation of the burnt offering: The burnt offering must remain on the hearth on the altar all night until the morning, and the altar's fire must be kept burning on it. ¹⁰ And the priest shall put on his linen robe, and he must put his linen undergarments on his body, and he shall take away the fatty ashes of the burnt offering that the fire has consumed on the altar, and he shall place them beside the altar. ¹¹ He shall take off his garments, and put on other garments, and carry the ashes outside the camp to a clean place. ¹² The fire on the altar is to be kept burning; it is never to go out; every morning the priest is to put wood on it, placing the burned offering in order on it, and there the fat of the peace-offering is to be burned. ¹³ Fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it shall not go out.

¹⁶ "'If the sacrifice of his offering is a votive or a freewill offering, it shall be eaten on the day that he offers his sacrifice as well as on the next day.

¹⁸ He presented the ram of the burnt offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram.

²¹ He washed the inward parts and the legs with water; and Moses burned the whole ram on the altar. It was a burnt offering for a pleasant aroma. It was an offering made by fire to the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.

⁷ And he is to take the two goats and put them before the Lord at the door of the Tent of meeting.

⁴ and doth not bring it to the entrance of the tent of meeting to present it as an offering to the LORD, before the tabernacle of the LORD, blood shall be reckoned unto that man: he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people,

⁹ and does not bring it to the door of the tent of meeting, to sacrifice it to the LORD, that man will be cut off from his people.

¹⁹ "'The offering must be a male that has no defects from your cattle, sheep, or goats in order to be accepted. ²⁰ "'Do not bring any animal with a physical defect. This is because it will not be acceptable for you. ²¹ And if anyone brings a sacrifice of fellowship offerings for the LORD to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering from the cattle or from the flock, it must be without defect to be acceptable; there must not be any physical defect in it. ²² You shall not offer what is blind, is injured, is maimed, has a wart, is festering, or has a running sore to the LORD, nor make an offering by fire of them on the altar to the LORD. ²³ "'You may use a bull or a sheep with a deformity or one that is stunted in growth as a freewill offering. However, it will not be accepted for a vow. ²⁴ You must not offer to the LORD that which has its testicles bruised, crushed, broken, or cut. You must not do this in your land.

³ And Balaam said to Balak, Stand by your burnt offering and I will go. Perhaps the LORD will come to meet me and whatever he shows me I will tell you. And he went to a bare height.

¹⁰ Who can count the dust of Jacob, or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his! ¹¹ Balak responded to Balaam: "What have you done to me? I brought you here to curse my enemies, but all you have done is bless them!"

¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of humankind, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? And has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?

²³ For there is not a spell against Jacob, nor any divination against Israel. Now it is said of Jacob and Israel, See what God has done! ²⁴ Look! the people will rise like the lion; he raises himself and will not lie down until he eats the prey and drinks the blood of the slain."

²⁷ And Balak said to Balaam, Come now, I will take you to another place. Perhaps it will please God that you may curse them for me from there.

³⁰ Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered up a bull and a ram on every altar.

⁸ but you shall offer a burnt offering to the LORD for a pleasant aroma: one young bull, one ram, seven male lambs a year old, all without defect; ⁹ And for their sacrifices, three tenths of flour tempered with oil to every calf, two tenths to a ram, ¹⁰ and eight cups for each of the seven lambs. ¹¹ one male goat for a sin offering, in addition to the sin offering of atonement, and the continual burnt offering, and its meal offering, and their drink offerings.

¹³ You shall offer a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to the LORD: thirteen young bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs a year old, all without defect;

⁵ ¶ But ye shall seek the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there for his habitation, and thou shalt go there. ⁶ and bring your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the wave offering of your hand, your vows, your freewill offerings and the firstborn of your herd and of your flock.

¹³ Be careful not to offer your burnt offerings in every place that you see, ¹⁴ But in the place which the Lord shall choose in one of thy tribes shalt thou offer sacrifices, and shalt do all that I command thee.

²⁷ "Sacrifice the meat and the blood of your burnt offerings on the altar of the LORD your God. The blood of your sacrifices is to be poured out beside the altar of the LORD your God, but you may eat the meat.

²¹ If it has any defect—is lame or blind, or has any defect whatever, you shall not sacrifice it to the LORD your God.

¹ "You shall not sacrifice to the LORD your God an ox and a sheep that has a defect or any flaw it, because that is detestable to the LORD your God."

⁸ I delight to do your will, O my God: yes, your law is within my heart.

³ Your people will volunteer in the day of your power. In holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, you will have the dew of your youth.

¹¹ What is the abundance of your sacrifices to me? says the LORD. I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fattened animals and I do not delight in the blood of bulls and ram-lambs and goats.

⁴⁰ For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, says the Sovereign LORD, there will all the house of Israel, all of them, serve me in the land. There I will accept them and there I will require your offerings and the first-fruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.

⁷ “Awake, sword, against my shepherd, and against the man who is close to me,” says the LORD of Armies. “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; and I will turn my hand against the little ones.

¹⁴ "Cursed is the one who cheats, who has in his flock a male and vows it, but instead sacrifices a blemished one to the Lord! For I am a great king," says the LORD of hosts, "and my name is awesome among the nations."

³⁵ The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God. ³⁶ When he saw Jesus walking by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!”

⁷ So Jesus said again, "I tell you, I am the door of the sheepfold.

⁹ I am the gate. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture.

¹² For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have.

⁷ Each one should give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or from compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

¹⁸ For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

²⁷ and to present her to Himself as a glorious church, without stain or wrinkle or any such blemish, but holy and blameless.

²⁶ We need such a high priest {— } one who is holy, innocent, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.

¹⁴ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, purify our consciences from works of death, so that we may serve the living God!

⁸ First He says, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings You did not desire, nor were You pleased with them” (which are offered according to the Law), ⁹ Then He adds, “Here I am, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first to establish the second. ¹⁰ And by that will, we have been sanctified through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

¹⁸ For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life you inherited from your forefathers, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or spot.

¹⁰ "You shall bring the bull in front of the Tent of Meeting, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the bull.

¹⁵ "Take one of the rams and Aaron and his sons are to put their hands on its head.

¹⁹ Take the other ram and Aaron and his sons are to put their hands on its head.

² And he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and slaughter it at the entrance of the tent of meeting; and Aaron`s sons, the priests, shall sprinkle the blood on the altar round about.

⁸ and shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and slaughter it before the tent of meeting; and Aaron`s sons shall sprinkle the blood thereof upon the altar round about.

¹³ He shall lay his hand on its head, and kill it before the Tent of Meeting; and the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle its blood around on the altar.

⁴ And he shall bring the bullock to the entrance of the tent of meeting before the LORD; and shall lay his hand on the bullock`s head, and slaughter the bullock before the LORD.

¹⁵ And the elders of the community shall place their hands on the bull's head before the LORD, and he shall slaughter the bull before the LORD.

²⁰ Thus he will do with the bullock, as he did with the bullock of the sin offering, so he will do with this. And the priest will make atonement for them and they will be forgiven.

²⁴ He shall place his hand on the he-goat's head and slaughter it in the place where he slaughtered the burnt offering before the LORD; it is a sin offering.

²⁶ He must turn all of its fat into smoke on the altar like the fat of the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, and the priest shall make atonement for him because of his sin, and he will be forgiven.

²⁹ and lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, and slay it in the place of burnt offerings.

³¹ He must remove all of its fat just as the fat was removed from the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, and the priest shall turn it into smoke on the altar as an appeasing fragrance for the LORD. The priest shall make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven.

³⁵ He shall remove all its fat, like the fat of the lamb is removed from the sacrifice of peace offerings. The priest shall burn them on the altar, on the offerings of the LORD made by fire. The priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin that he has sinned, and he will be forgiven.

⁶ and he shall bring his guilt offering to the LORD for his sin that he has committed: a female from the flock, a ewe-lamb or a she-goat, as a sin offering, and the priest shall make atonement for him for his sin.

⁷ The priest shall make atonement for him before the LORD, and he will be forgiven concerning whatever he does to become guilty."

¹⁴ Moses brought the young bull for the sin offering. Aaron and his sons put their hands on its head.

²² He presented the other ram, the ram of consecration: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram.

⁷ Moses said to Aaron, "Draw near to the altar, and offer your sin offering, and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself, and for the people; and offer the offering of the people, and make atonement for them; as the LORD commanded."

²¹ and Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live he goat and confess over it all the iniquities of the sons of Israel and all their rebellions and all their sins, putting them thus upon the head of the he goat and shall send him away into the wilderness by the hand of a man prepared for this;

²⁴ Then he shall bathe himself in water in a holy place, and put on his garments, and come out and offer his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the people.

²¹ And if anyone brings a sacrifice of fellowship offerings for the LORD to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering from the cattle or from the flock, it must be without defect to be acceptable; there must not be any physical defect in it.

²⁷ "When an ox or a sheep or a goat is born, then it shall be under its mother for seven days, and from the eighth day and beyond it is acceptable as an offering made by fire for Yahweh.

¹² And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks, and offer thou the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering, to LORD, to make atonement for the Levites.

²⁵ And the priest shall make atonement for all the congregation of the sons of Israel, and they shall be forgiven, for it was an error, and they have brought their oblation, an offering made by fire to LORD, and their sin-offering bef

²⁸ And the priest will make atonement for the person who ⌊sinned unintentionally⌋ ⌊before Yahweh⌋, to make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven.

¹³ and it will be for him and his offspring after him a covenant of an eternal priesthood because he was jealous for his God and made atonement for the Israelites.'"

²³ They brought near the male goats for the sin offering before the king and the assembly; and they laid their hands on them. ²⁴ and then the priests slaughtered them and purged the altar with their blood as a sin offering to atone for all Israel, because the king ordered that the burnt offering and the sin offering be made for all Israel.

⁴ He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows. We considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. ⁵ But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed. ⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray; each one has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

⁷ "I will bring them to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar. My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations."

²⁴ Seventy weeks are decreed on your people and on your holy city, to put an end to the transgression, and to make an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy place.

²⁵ God presented Him as an atoning sacrifice through faith in His blood, in order to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had passed over the sins committed beforehand.

¹¹ Not only so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

²⁰ So then, we are Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God! ²¹ God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

¹⁸ I have received full payment and even more; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.

⁴ because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

² And he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

⁶ And Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and the other half he sprinkled on the altar. ⁷ He took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They said, "All that the LORD has spoken we will do and obey." ⁸ And Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and he said, "Look, the blood of the covenant that the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words."

¹⁶ "Slaughter the ram. Take its blood and sprinkle it all around the altar.

¹¹ He must slaughter it on the north side of the altar before the LORD; then Aaron's sons, the priests, will sprinkle its blood all around the altar.

¹⁵ The priest shall bring it to the altar, and wring off its head, and burn it on the altar; and its blood shall be drained out on the side of the altar;

¹⁵ Then let him put to death the goat of the sin-offering for the people, and take its blood inside the veil and do with it as he did with the blood of the ox, shaking drops of it on and before the cover of the ark.

¹⁷ "But you shall not redeem the firstborn of a cow, or the firstborn of a sheep, or the firstborn of a goat. They are holy. You shall sprinkle their blood on the altar, and shall burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a pleasant aroma to the LORD.

²² And they slaughtered the bullocks, and the priests received the blood, and sprinkled it on the altar; and they slaughtered the rams, and sprinkled the blood on the altar; and they slaughtered the lambs, and sprinkled the blood on the altar.

¹¹ They slaughtered the Passover lambs. The priests sprinkled the blood with their hands while the Levites skinned the lambs.

¹⁵ He will startle (amaze) (astonish) many nations, and kings will shut their mouths because of him. For what they were not told, they will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand.

²⁵ I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all your filthiness, and from all your idols.

⁶ With what shall I come before the LORD and bow myself before the high God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?

¹¹ Day after day every priest stands to minister and to offer again and again the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.

²⁴ to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

² who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling with his blood: may grace and peace be yours in abundance.

²¹ the LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.

⁸ "'The skin of the burnt offering belongs to the priest who sacrifices it.

⁹ They came to the place God had told him about. Abraham built an altar and arranged the wood on it. He tied up his son and placed him on the altar, on top of the wood.

²⁴ Fire came out from before the LORD, and consumed the burnt offering and the fat upon the altar. When all the people saw it, they shouted, and fell on their faces.

²⁶ David built an altar to the LORD there, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called on the LORD; and he answered him from the sky by fire on the altar of burnt offering.

¹ And when Solomon finished praying, then fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the house.

³¹ And provided for the wood offering, at appointed times, and for the firstfruits. Remember me, O my God, for good.

¹⁰ "Oh, that one of you would shut the temple doors and not light useless fires on the altar! I'm not pleased with you," says the LORD of the Heavenly Armies, "and I'll accept no offerings from you.

²³ Let them give us two bulls, and let them choose for themselves one bull, cut him in pieces, and put it on the wood, but don't let them start a fire on it. I will prepare the other bull and set it on the wood, but I will put no fire on it.

³³ And he arranged the wood, cut the bull into pieces, and placed it on the wood. Then he said, "Fill four jars with water, and pour it on the burnt offering and on the wood."

²¹ the LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: "Never again will I curse the ground because of man, for the intent of his heart is evil from childhood. I will never again destroy every living creature, as I have done.

²⁵ You shall take them from their hands, and burn them on the altar on the burnt offering, for a pleasant aroma before the LORD: it is an offering made by fire to the LORD.

¹³ But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest shall bring it all, and burn it on the altar: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet smell to the LORD.

¹⁷ He shall tear it by its wings, but shall not divide it apart. The priest shall burn it on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire. It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to the LORD.

¹¹ "'The priest must burn the offering on the altar. It is food, an offering by fire to the LORD.

¹⁴ He washed the inward parts and the legs, and burned them on the burnt offering on the altar.

⁸ When you prepare a bull as a burnt offering or a sacrifice to fulfill a vow or a fellowship offering for the LORD, ⁹ then he shall offer with the bull a meal offering of three tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with half a hin of oil; ¹⁰ And you shall bring for a drink offering half a hin of wine, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to the LORD.

⁶ Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts. You teach me wisdom in the inmost place.

¹⁵ I will offer burnt sacrifices of fatlings to You, with the incense of rams; I will offer bulls with goats. Selah.

¹⁴ "O Jerusalem, wash the evil from your heart so that you may be saved. How long will your wicked thoughts lodge within you?

²⁸ For after I had brought them into the land that I promised to give them, when they saw every high hill, and all the thick trees: they made there offerings, and provoked me with their oblations, making sweet savours there, and poured out their drink offerings.

⁴¹ I will accept you as a sweet aroma when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries in which you have been scattered. And I will be made holy in you in the sight of the nations.

²⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. ²⁶ Blind Pharisee, first wash clean the inside of the cup or dish, and then the outside will be clean also. ²⁷ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside, but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and every impurity. ²⁸ In the same way, on the outside you also appear righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

¹⁵ For we are to God the sweet aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.

⁴ But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn (firstlings) of his flock. the LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering.

² »Tell the Israelites: ‘When you bring an offering to the LORD, bring your offering of animals from the herd or the flock. ³ “'If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer a male without defect. He shall offer it at the door of the Tent of Meeting, that he may be accepted before the LORD.

¹⁹ "'The offering must be a male that has no defects from your cattle, sheep, or goats in order to be accepted.

⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray; each one has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. ⁷ He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he did not open his mouth.

²⁹ The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

²² He put the table in the Tent of Meeting, on the north side of the tabernacle, outside the curtain,

⁵ He must slaughter the young bull before the LORD, then Aaron's sons, the priests, will present the blood and sprinkle the blood all around the altar that is at the door of the tent of assembly.

⁷ The sons of Aaron the priest will put fire on the altar and arrange the wood on the fire. ⁸ Then Aaron's sons, the priests, will arrange the pieces of meat, the head, and the suet on the wood that is on the fire that is on the altar. ⁹ but he shall wash its innards and its legs with water. The priest shall burn all of it on the altar, for a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to the LORD.

²⁵ Say to Aaron and his sons, This is the law for the sin-offering: the sin-offering is to be put to death before the Lord in the same place as the burned offering; it is most holy.

² »‘It should be slaughtered in the same place where the burnt offering is slaughtered. A priest will throw the blood against all sides of the altar.

¹² Then he slaughtered the burnt offering, and Aaron's sons brought the blood to him, and he sprinkled it on the altar all around;

⁵ God said to me: "Son of man, look toward the north." So I looked toward the north. There in the entrance to the north gate beside the altar, I saw the idol that provokes jealousy and stirs up God's anger.

⁹ but he shall wash its innards and its legs with water. The priest shall burn all of it on the altar, for a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to the LORD.

⁹ He (God) said to him: "Bring me a heifer three years old, a female goat three years old, a ram three years old, a turtledove, and a young pigeon."

⁷ And if he cannot afford a sheep, he shall bring for his sin which he has sinned, two turtle-doves or two young pigeons to the Lord; one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering.

⁸ If she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves, or two young pigeons; the one for a burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean.'"

²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.

²⁴ and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord, "a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons."

⁸ He shall bring them to the priest, who shall first offer the one which is for the sin offering. He shall wring off its head from its neck, but shall not sever it completely. ⁹ He shall sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering on the side of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall be drained out at the base of the altar. It is a sin offering.

¹ My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?

²¹ Save me from the mouth of the lion, and from the horns of the wild oxen answer me.

¹ Save me, God, for the waters have come up to my neck. ² I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold. I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. ³ I am weary with my crying. My throat is dry. My eyes fail looking for my God. ⁴ Those who hate me without cause are more than the hairs of my head. My persecutors are mighty, and they want to destroy me. Must I be forced to return what I did not steal? ⁵ God, you know my sins, and my guilt is not hidden from you. ⁶ Let those who wait for you not be put to shame because of me, O Sovereign LORD Almighty. Let those who seek you not be disgraced because of me, O God of Israel. ⁷ For I have suffered reproach for Your sake; shame has covered my face. ⁸ I am a stranger to my brothers, a foreigner to my mother's sons. ⁹ Zeal for your house consumes me, and the mockeries of those who insult you fall on me. ¹⁰ I weep and fast, and I am mocked for it. ¹¹ When I put on the clothing of grief, they said evil of me. ¹² Those who sit at the gate talk of me and I am the song of the drunkards. ¹³ But as for me, my prayer is to You, O LORD, at a time of favor, O God! in the plentitude of Your mercy answer me, in the truth of Your salvation. ¹⁴ Rescue me from the mud and do not let me sink. Rescue me from those who hate me, and from the deep waters. ¹⁵ Do not let the torrent of waters flood over me, or the deep swallow me, or the pit close its mouth over me. ¹⁶ Answer me, O LORD, because your loyal love is good; according to your abundant mercies, turn to me, ¹⁷ Do not hide your face from your servant, for I am in distress. Answer me speedily. ¹⁸ Draw near and redeem me; ransom me because of my enemies. ¹⁹ You know my reproach and my shame, and my dishonor; my enemies are all before You. ²⁰ Reproach hath broken my heart, and I am overwhelmed: and I looked for sympathy, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. ²¹ They gave me also gall for my food, and made me drink vinegar for my thirst.

⁴ He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows. We considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. ⁵ But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.

¹⁰ It was the LORD's will to allow him to be crushed. Even though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.

¹ When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he told his disciples, ² “You know that the Passover begins in two days, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.” ³ Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, who was named Caiaphas, ⁴ and they plotted to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him. ⁵ “But not during the feast,” they said, “or there may be a riot among the people.” ⁶ While Jesus was in Bethany in the home of Simon the leper, ⁷ a woman came to Him with an alabaster jar of expensive perfume, which she poured on His head as He reclined at the table. ⁸ When the disciples saw this, they were indignant and asked, “Why this waste? ⁹ This perfume could have been sold at a high price, and the money given to the poor.” ¹⁰ But knowing this, Jesus said to them, "Why are you bothering the woman? She has done a beautiful thing for me. ¹¹ The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have Me. ¹² For in pouring this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial. ¹³ Truly I tell you, wherever this gospel is preached in all the world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.” ¹⁴ Then one of the Twelve, the one called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests ¹⁵ and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I hand Him over to you?” And they set out for him thirty pieces of silver. ¹⁶ From then on he kept looking for an opportunity to betray Him. ¹⁷ On the first day of the feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and said, "Where do you want us to make preparation for you eat the Passover?" ¹⁸ He answered, "Go into the city to a certain man and say to him, 'The Teacher says, My time is near. I will keep the Passover with my disciples at your house.' ¹⁹ So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover. ²⁰ When evening came, He was sitting at the table with the Twelve. ²¹ And, while they were eating, he said: "I tell you that one of you will betray me." ²² They were deeply grieved and began to ask Him one after another, “Surely not I, Lord?” ²³ He replied, "The man who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me. ²⁴ The Son of Man will go just as it is written about Him, but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed. It would be better for him if he had not been born.” ²⁵ Then Judas, who would betray Him, said, “Surely not I, Rabbi?” Jesus answered, “You have said it yourself.” ²⁶ While they were eating, Jesus took bread, spoke a blessing and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is My body.” ²⁷ Then He took the cup, gave thanks and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.

²⁷ And as for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you do not have need that anyone teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you reside in him.

¹² —all the rest of the bull—outside of the camp to a clean place where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire. It shall be burned where the ashes are poured out.

¹⁰ And the priest shall put on his linen robe, and he must put his linen undergarments on his body, and he shall take away the fatty ashes of the burnt offering that the fire has consumed on the altar, and he shall place them beside the altar. ¹¹ He shall take off his garments, and put on other garments, and carry the ashes outside the camp to a clean place.

²⁷ "The bull and the goat used for the sin offering, whose blood was brought into the Most Holy Place to take away sin, will be carried outside the camp and burned. Skin, meat, and intestines must all be burned.

¹¹ Although the high priest brings the blood of animals into the Holy Place as a sacrifice for sin, the bodies are burned outside the camp. ¹² And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to sanctify the people through his own blood. ¹³ Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore. ¹⁴ For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city which is to come.

¹⁰ Abram brought him all these and cut them in two, laying each half over against the other. He did not cut the birds in two.

⁹ but he shall wash its innards and its legs with water. The priest shall burn all of it on the altar, for a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to the LORD. ¹⁰ And if the offering be of the flocks, a holocaust of sheep or of goats, he shall offer a male without blemish.

⁸ He shall bring them to the priest, who shall first offer the one which is for the sin offering. He shall wring off its head from its neck, but shall not sever it completely.

¹⁰ You do not abandon me to the grave or allow your holy one to decay.

⁵⁰ When Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, He yielded up His spirit.

³⁰ When Jesus had received the vinegar, he said: It is finished! And he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

²⁵ He was delivered over to death for our trespasses and was raised to life for our justification.

⁶ with burnt offerings and sin offerings You were not pleased. ⁷ Then I said, ‘Here I am, it is written about Me in the scroll: I have come to do Your will, O God.’” ⁸ First He says, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings You did not desire, nor were You pleased with them” (which are offered according to the Law), ⁹ Then He adds, “Here I am, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first to establish the second. ¹⁰ And by that will, we have been sanctified through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. ¹¹ Day after day every priest stands to minister and to offer again and again the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. ¹² But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, "he sat down at the right hand of God."

¹⁵ Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that confess His name. ¹⁶ And do not neglect to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or spot. ²⁰ He was known before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in the last times for your sake. ²¹ Through Him you believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and glorified Him; and so your faith and hope are in God.

¹⁸ For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body, but made alive in the spirit,
