Psalms 69:1-21

1 Save me, God, for the waters have come up to my neck. 2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold. I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. 3 I am weary with my crying. My throat is dry. My eyes fail looking for my God. 4 Those who hate me without cause are more than the hairs of my head. My persecutors are mighty, and they want to destroy me. Must I be forced to return what I did not steal? 5 God, you know my sins, and my guilt is not hidden from you. 6 Let those who wait for you not be put to shame because of me, O Sovereign LORD Almighty. Let those who seek you not be disgraced because of me, O God of Israel. 7 For I have suffered reproach for Your sake; shame has covered my face. 8 I am a stranger to my brothers, a foreigner to my mother's sons. 9 Zeal for your house consumes me, and the mockeries of those who insult you fall on me. 10 I weep and fast, and I am mocked for it. 11 When I put on the clothing of grief, they said evil of me. 12 Those who sit at the gate talk of me and I am the song of the drunkards. 13 But as for me, my prayer is to You, O LORD, at a time of favor, O God! in the plentitude of Your mercy answer me, in the truth of Your salvation. 14 Rescue me from the mud and do not let me sink. Rescue me from those who hate me, and from the deep waters. 15 Do not let the torrent of waters flood over me, or the deep swallow me, or the pit close its mouth over me. 16 Answer me, O LORD, because your loyal love is good; according to your abundant mercies, turn to me, 17 Do not hide your face from your servant, for I am in distress. Answer me speedily. 18 Draw near and redeem me; ransom me because of my enemies. 19 You know my reproach and my shame, and my dishonor; my enemies are all before You. 20 Reproach hath broken my heart, and I am overwhelmed: and I looked for sympathy, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. 21 They gave me also gall for my food, and made me drink vinegar for my thirst.

Matthew 26:1-27

1 When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he told his disciples, 2 “You know that the Passover begins in two days, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.” 3 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, who was named Caiaphas, 4 and they plotted to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him. 5 “But not during the feast,” they said, “or there may be a riot among the people.” 6 While Jesus was in Bethany in the home of Simon the leper, 7 a woman came to Him with an alabaster jar of expensive perfume, which she poured on His head as He reclined at the table. 8 When the disciples saw this, they were indignant and asked, “Why this waste? 9 This perfume could have been sold at a high price, and the money given to the poor.” 10 But knowing this, Jesus said to them, "Why are you bothering the woman? She has done a beautiful thing for me. 11 The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have Me. 12 For in pouring this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial. 13 Truly I tell you, wherever this gospel is preached in all the world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.” 14 Then one of the Twelve, the one called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests 15 and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I hand Him over to you?” And they set out for him thirty pieces of silver. 16 From then on he kept looking for an opportunity to betray Him. 17 On the first day of the feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and said, "Where do you want us to make preparation for you eat the Passover?" 18 He answered, "Go into the city to a certain man and say to him, 'The Teacher says, My time is near. I will keep the Passover with my disciples at your house.' 19 So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover. 20 When evening came, He was sitting at the table with the Twelve. 21 And, while they were eating, he said: "I tell you that one of you will betray me." 22 They were deeply grieved and began to ask Him one after another, “Surely not I, Lord?” 23 He replied, "The man who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me. 24 The Son of Man will go just as it is written about Him, but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed. It would be better for him if he had not been born.” 25 Then Judas, who would betray Him, said, “Surely not I, Rabbi?” Jesus answered, “You have said it yourself.” 26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, spoke a blessing and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is My body.” 27 Then He took the cup, gave thanks and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.

1 John 2:27

11 Although the high priest brings the blood of animals into the Holy Place as a sacrifice for sin, the bodies are burned outside the camp. 12 And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to sanctify the people through his own blood. 13 Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore. 14 For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city which is to come.

Hebrews 13:15-16

15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that confess His name. 16 And do not neglect to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
