¹¹ He came to his own--yet his own did not receive him.

² He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him. Nothing in his appearance will make us desire him. ³ He was despised, and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised, and we esteemed him not

²⁴ He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

¹⁴ But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We do not want this man to rule over us.’

¹³ Then the owner of the vineyard said, 'What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will respect him.' ¹⁴ But when the laborers saw him, they reasoned with themselves, saying, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours. ¹⁵ So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them?

³² He testifies to what He has seen and heard, yet no one accepts His testimony.

²⁵ And you are sons of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers, when He said to Abraham, ‘Through your offspring all the families of the earth will be blessed.’ ²⁶ When God raised up His servant, He sent Him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”

⁵¹ You stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit, just as your fathers did. ⁵² Which of the prophets did your fathers fail to persecute? They even killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One. And now you are His betrayers and murderers—

²⁶ Brothers, children of Abraham, and you Gentiles who fear God, it is to us that this message of salvation has been sent.

⁴⁶ Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “It was necessary to speak the word of God to you first. But since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.

¹ I speak the truth in Christ. I am not lying. My conscience testifies for me in the Holy Spirit

⁵ Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them proceeds the human descent of Christ, who is God over all, forever worthy of praise! Amen.

⁸ For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs,

⁴ But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,
