¹⁰ He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him.

⁶ the LORD said: "If they become one people speaking the same language, nothing will be impossible for them. They have begun to do this. ⁷ "Let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other." ⁸ the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth. They stopped building the city. ⁹ Therefore its name was called Babel, for there the LORD confused the language of the whole earth, and there the LORD scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

¹³ She called the name of the LORD, who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me, for she said, 'I have not seen the one who sees me.'"

¹ Abram was ninety-nine years old. the LORD appeared to him and said: "I am God Almighty. Walk before me and be blameless.

³³ And when the LORD had finished speaking to Abraham, then Abraham returned to his place.

⁴ When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from the center of the bush, "Moses! Moses!" He said, "Here I am." ⁵ "Do not come any closer," God said. "Remove your sandals from your feet, because the place where you are standing is holy ground." ⁶ Then he said, "I am the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." At this, Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.

¹¹ Tell this to them: "The gods who didn't make the heavens and the earth will perish from the earth and from these heavens." ¹² He who made the earth by his power, and established the world by his wisdom; also stretched out the heavens by his understanding.

²⁷ "All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

⁵ This light shines in the darkness, but the darkness cannot understand it.

¹⁸ No one has seen God at any time. The only Son, who is at the Father's side, has made him known.

¹⁷ But Jesus said to them, “My Father is continuing to work and I am working.”

²⁵ Righteous Father, though the world did not know you, I knew you, and these men knew that you had sent me.

¹⁷ Yet He has not left Himself without testimony to His goodness: He gives you rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.”

²⁴ The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples made by human hands. ²⁵ Nor is He served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. ²⁶ From one man He made every nation of men, to inhabit the whole earth; and He determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands. ²⁷ God intended that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.

²¹ For since in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom did not know Him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

⁸ None of the rulers of this age understood it; for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

² But in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe. ³ The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature, upholding all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

³ By faith we understand that the universe was formed by God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

¹ Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.
