⁵ O house of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the Lord!

¹⁵ Blessed are the people who learn to acclaim you. They walk in the light of your presence, the LORD.

³ Then many people will come and say: "Let us go to the mountain of the LORD, to the House of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways so that we may live by them." The law will go out from Zion. The word of the LORD will go out from Jerusalem.

¹⁰ Who among you fears the LORD, who obeys the voice of His servant, who walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD and rest on his God. ¹¹ But all of you light fires and arm yourselves with flaming torches. So walk in your own light and among the torches you have lit. This is what you will receive from me: You will be tormented.

¹ “Cry aloud! Don’t spare! Lift up your voice like a trumpet! Declare to my people their disobedience, and to the house of Jacob their sins.

¹ Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. ² For look! darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples, but the LORD will rise on you, and his glory will appear over you.

¹⁹ The sun will be no more your light by day; nor will the brightness of the moon give light to you, but the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. ²⁰ Your sun will no more go down, nor your moon withdraw; for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning will be ended.

⁷⁹ to shine on those who live in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”

³⁵ Then Jesus said to them, "A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest the darkness overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. ³⁶ While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light." When Jesus had said this, he departed and hid himself from them.

¹² The night is nearly over; the day is at hand. So let us throw aside the deeds of darkness, and put on the armor of light. ¹³ Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. ¹⁴ But clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about gratifying your physical cravings.

⁸ For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,

⁵ you are all sons of the Light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or the darkness. ⁶ So then let us not be sleeping as do the rest, but let us be watchful and self-controlled.

⁵ This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you, that God is light and in him is no darkness at all.

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

²³ The city does not need the sun nor the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God lighted it, and the Lamb is its lamp. ²⁴ The nations will walk by its light; the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.
