Isaiah 2 Cross References - VIN

1 This is what Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2 In the last days the mountain of the house of the LORD will be established as the highest of the mountains and exalted above the hills. All the nations will stream to it. 3 Then many people will come and say: "Let us go to the mountain of the LORD, to the House of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways so that we may live by them." The law will go out from Zion. The word of the LORD will go out from Jerusalem. 4 He will judge between the nations, and will decide concerning many peoples. They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. 5 O house of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the Lord! 6 For you have forsaken your people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled from the east, with those who practice divination like the Philistines, and they clasp hands with the children of foreigners. 7 Their land is full of silver and gold. There is no limit to their treasures. Their land is also full of horses. There is no limit to their chariots. 8 Their land is full of idols. They worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made. 9 Man is brought low, and mankind is humbled; therefore do not forgive them. 10 Enter into the rock, and hide in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty. 11 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the pride of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. 12 For the day of the LORD Almighty shall be on all the proud and lofty ones, and on all that is lifted up; and it will be abased; 13 for all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, for all the oaks of Bashan, 14 against all the high mountains and all the lofty hills, 15 for every lofty tower, for every fortified wall, 16 for all the ships of Tarshish, and for all pleasant imagery. 17 And every man shall be brought low, and the pride of men shall fall: and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. 18 And the idols will utterly pass away. 19 People will go into caves in the rocks and into holes in the ground because of the LORD's terrifying presence and the honor of his majesty when he rises to shake the earth. 20 For on that day men will cast to the bats their abominations both of silver and gold, which they made to worship vanities; 21 They will go into caves in the rocks and into cracks in the cliffs because of the LORD's terrifying presence and the honor of his majesty when he rises to shake the earth. 22 Stop trusting in man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for of what account is he?

10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, 11 having the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. 12 It had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. 13 There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south, and three on the west. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 The angel who was talking with me had a measuring rod of gold, to measure the city, its gates and wall. 16 The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the rod, twelve thousand stadia; its length and width and height are equal. 17 And he measured its wall, a hundred and forty-four cubits, according to man's measurement, which the angel was using. 18 The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as clear as glass. 19 The foundations of the city walls were adorned with every kind of precious stone: The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each gate made of a single pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. 22 But I saw no temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun nor the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God lighted it, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24 The nations will walk by its light; the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25 And its gates will not be shut by day; for there will be no night there; 26 and the glory and honor of the nations shall be brought into it. 27 But nothing impure shall enter into it, nor shall any man who commits shameful acts, or who lies: but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

I am warm, I have seen the fire. 17 And the rest of it he makes into a god, his graven image; he falls down to it and worships, and prays to it, and says, Deliver me! for you are my god. 18 They know not, they understand not; for their eyes are daubed over, that they cannot see; their hearts, that they cannot understand. 19 No one stops to think. No one has enough knowledge or understanding to say: "I burned half of the wood in the fire. I also baked bread over its coals. I roasted meat and ate it. Now I am making the rest of the wood into a disgusting thing and bowing to a block of wood." 20 He feeds on ashes; a deceived mind misleads him. Ezekiel 31:3-12

3 Behold, the Ashshuri, a cedar in Lebanon with beautiful branches with an overshadowing forest and high in height; with his foliage among the thick foliage: 4 The waters nourished it. The deep made it to grow. The rivers of it ran all around its plantation and it sent out its channels to all the trees of the field. 5 In this way it became taller than all the trees of the field; and its branches were increased and its arms became long because of the great waters. 6 "'All the birds of the heavens nested in its boughs. Under its branches all the beasts of the field gave birth and all great nations lived under its shade. 7 So it was beautiful, being so tall and its branches so long, for its root was by great waters. 8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide it; the fir trees were not like its boughs, and the plane trees were not as its branches; nor was any tree in the garden of God like it in its beauty. 9 I have made him beautiful by his many branches, so that all the trees of Eden in the garden of God envied him. 10 “Therefore thus said the Sovereign LORD: 'Because you are exalted in stature, and he has set his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height; 11 then I gave it into the hand of the leader of nations; he dealt thoroughly with it according to its wickedness. I drove it out. 12 »‘Alien tyrants of the nations have cut it down and left it. On the mountains and in all the valleys its branches have fallen and its boughs have been broken in all the ravines of the land. All the peoples of the earth have gone down from its shade and left it.

A raging fire came out of his mouth. Glowing coals were kindled by it. 9 He lowered the heavens and came down; and darkness was under his feet. 10 He rode upon a cherub and flew; he soared upon the wings of the wind. 11 But he made darkness his covering, His tent around him was dark water in clouds of air. 12 Out of the brightness in front of him, those rain clouds passed by with hailstones and lightning. 13 Then the Lord thundered from heaven, the Most High uttered his voice: 14 He sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he multiplied lightnings, and routed them. 15 Then the channels of the sea were seen, and the foundations of the world were uncovered at your rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of your nostrils.
