³⁹ and Heman's associate Asaph, who served at his right hand: Asaph son of Berekiah, the son of Shimea, ⁴⁰ the son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malkijah, ⁴¹ the son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah, ⁴² the son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei, ⁴³ the son of Jahath, the son of Gershon, the son of Levi. ⁴⁴ and from their associates, the Merarites, at his left hand: Ethan son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch, ⁴⁵ the son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah, ⁴⁶ the son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shemer, ⁴⁷ the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

³¹ And from the half-tribe of Manasseh, eighteen thousand, listed by name, came to make David king.

³⁴ Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; for His mercy endures forever.

³⁷ So he left Asaph and his brothers there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD to minister before the ark regularly as each day required,

¹ David and the commanders of the army set apart for the service some of the sons of Asaph and of Heman and of Jeduthun, who were to prophesy with lyres, harps and cymbals; and the number of those who performed their service was: ² of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah. The sons of Asaph were under the hand of Asaph, who prophesied at the order of the king. ³ Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah and Mattithiah, six, under the direction of their father Jeduthun with the harp, who prophesied in giving thanks and praising the LORD. ⁴ Of Heman: the sons of Heman; Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth: ⁵ All these were sons of Heman, the king's seer in the words of God. And to make great his power God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters. ⁶ All these were under the direction of their father to sing in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, harps and lyres, for the service of the house of God. Asaph, Jeduthun and Heman under the direction of the king.

¹³ the trumpeters and singers praised and thanked the LORD in unison. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other musical instruments, they sang in praise to the LORD: "He is good; his mercy (lovingkindness) endures forever." Then the LORD’s Temple was filled with a cloud.

³ When all the Israelites saw the fire come down and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they knelt down with their faces to the ground on the pavement and worshiped and gave thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his loyal love is everlasting.

²¹ And he consulted with the people, and appointed singers to the LORD, and those giving praise to the glory of holiness, when going out before those armed, and said, Give thanks to the LORD, for His mercy endures forever.

¹¹ And they sang, praising and giving thanks unto the LORD because he is good, for his mercy endures for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, praising the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

¹⁷ But the loyal love of Yahweh is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to their children's children,

¹¹ "Yes, you will hear the sounds of joy and happiness and the sounds of brides and grooms. You will hear those who bring thank offerings to the LORD's Temple."' "'They will say: Give thanks to the LORD Almighty because the LORD is good, because his mercy endures forever. I will restore the prosperity of the land to what they were before,"' says the LORD.

⁵⁰ His mercy extends to those who fear Him, from generation to generation.
