The LORD hear you in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend you; ² send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you out of Zion; ³ remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt sacrifice; selah. ⁴ Grant according to your own heart, and fulfill all your counsel. ⁵ We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: The LORD fulfill all your petitions. ⁶ Now know that I the LORD saves His anointed; He will hear him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. ⁷ Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: But we will remember the name of the LORD our God. ⁸ They are brought down and fallen: But we are risen, and stand upright. ⁹ Save, LORD: Let the king hear us when we call.

²⁷ And he said to him, "What is your name?" And he said, "Jacob." ²⁸ And he said, "Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel: For as a prince you have power with God and with men, and have prevailed."Israel; that is, A prince of God ²⁹ And Jacob asked him, and said, "Tell me, I implore you, your name." And he said, "Why is it that you ask after my name?" And he blessed him there.

¹⁵ And he blessed Joseph, and said, "God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God which fed me all my life long to this day, ¹⁶ the Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth."

¹³ And Moses said to God, "Behold, when I come to the children of Israel, and shall say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you'; and they shall say to me, 'What is His name?' What shall I say to them?" ¹⁴ And God said to Moses, "I AM THAT I AM": And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.' " ¹⁵ And moreover God said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you: This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.'

⁵ And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. ⁶ And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, "The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, ⁷ keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, to the third and to the fourth generation."

¹⁰ And those that know Your name will put their trust in You: For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.

² The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler shield, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

⁵ "Gather My saints together to Me; those that have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice."

¹¹ Give us help from trouble: For vain is the help of man.

¹⁸ That men may know that You, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, are the Most High over all the earth.

¹⁴ "Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him: I will set him on high, because he has known My name. ¹⁵ He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.

² judah was His sanctuary, and Israel His dominion.

⁷ Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me: You shall stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand shall save me.

¹⁰ The name of the LORD is a strong tower: The righteous runs into it, and is safe.

¹⁰ Who is among you that fears the LORD, that obeys the voice of His Servant, that walks in darkness, and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD, and rely upon his God.

⁷ Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it: It is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.

³⁸ And He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death: Tarry here, and watch with Me." ³⁹ And He went a little further, fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me: Nevertheless not as I will, but as You will."

⁷ Who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears to Him that was able to save Him from death, and was heard because He feared;

⁷ Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion: The same is the city of David.

¹⁷ And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the middle of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: And David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.

¹⁶ And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: He even built them for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place.

⁴⁴ If your people go out to battle against their enemy, wherever you shall send them, and shall pray to the LORD toward the city which you have chosen, and toward the house that I have built for your name: ⁴⁵ Then hear you in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

⁸ And they dwelled in it, and have built you a sanctuary in it for your name, saying, ⁹ if, when evil comes on us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in your presence, (for your name is in this house), and cry to you in our affliction, then you will hear and help.

⁴ I cried out to the LORD with my voice, and He heard me out of His holy hill. Selah.

¹⁷ until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I understood their end.

⁶ Cry out and shout, you inhabitant of Zion: For great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of you.

³² What then shall one answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD has founded Zion, and the poor of His people shall take refuge in it.

³⁴ By the way that he came, by the same he shall return, and shall not come into this city', said the LORD. ³⁵ 'For I will defend this city to save it for My own sake, and for My servant David's sake.' "

⁴ And Abel, he also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of its fat. And the LORD had respect to Abel and to his offering:

²⁴ And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed on the altar the burnt offering and the fat: Which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.

²⁶ And David built an altar to the LORD there, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called on the LORD; and he answered him from heaven by fire on the altar of burnt offering.

¹ Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.

¹⁹ Then You shall be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: Then they shall offer bulls upon Your altar.

⁷ All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together to you, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you: They shall come up on My altar with acceptance, and I will glorify the house of My glory.

⁴ And when he looked at him, he was afraid, and said, "What is it, Lord?" And he said to him, "Your prayers and your charitable alms have come up as a memorial before God.

² and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given Himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor.

⁵ you also, as lively stones, are built up as a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

² You have given him his heart's desire, and have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah.

⁴ Delight yourself also in the LORD: And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

¹⁹ He will fulfill the desire of those that fear Him; He also will hear their cry, and will save them.

²³ The desire of the righteous is only good: But the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

²² And all things, whatever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive."

⁴² And I know that You always hear Me: But because of the people which stand by I said this, that they may believe that You have sent Me."

²³ And in that day you shall ask Me nothing. Truly, truly, I say to you, Whatever you shall ask the Father in My name, He will give you it.

²⁷ Moreover He that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. ²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

¹⁴ And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us: ¹⁵ And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

¹⁵ And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:Jehovahnissi; that is, The LORD my banner

³⁵ And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, "Rise up, LORD, and let your enemies be scattered; and let those that hate you flee before you. ³⁶ And when it rested, he said, "Return, O LORD, to the many thousands of Israel.

¹⁷ Then Eli answered and said, "Go in peace: And the God of Israel grant you your petition that you have asked of Him."

⁴⁵ Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

¹⁴ That I may show forth all Your praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in Your salvation.

⁵ But I have trusted in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.

⁴ Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun,line; or, rule, or, direction

⁹ And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: It shall rejoice in His salvation.

⁴ You have given a banner to those that fear You, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.

¹⁵ The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: The right hand of the LORD does valiantly.

¹⁰ And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; the Gentiles shall seek it: And His dwelling shall be glorious.

¹ And in that day you shall say, "O LORD, I will praise You: Though You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comforted me. ² Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: For the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also has become my salvation. ³ Therefore with joy you shall draw water out of the wells of salvation.

⁹ And it shall be said in that day, "See, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us: This is the LORD; we have waited for Him, we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation."

¹⁰ I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

⁵ For all people will walk, every one, in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God forever and ever.

¹⁸ Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

⁴⁷ and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.

³⁰ And listen you to the supplication of your servant, and of your people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: And hear you in heaven your dwelling place: And when you hear, forgive.

⁴³ hear you in heaven your dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calls to you for: That all people of the earth may know your name, to fear you, as do your people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have built, is called by your name.

² The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His anointed, saying,

⁷ Show Your marvelous lovingkindness, O You that saves by Your right hand those which put their trust in You from those that rise up against them.

³⁵ You have also given me the shield of Your salvation: And Your right hand has held me up, and Your gentleness has made me great.

⁵⁰ He gives great deliverance to His king; and shows mercy to His anointed, to David, and to His seed forevermore.

⁸ The LORD is their strength, and He is the saving strength of His anointed.

¹¹ By this I know that You favor me, because my enemy does not triumph over me.

²⁰ I have found David My servant; with My holy oil I have anointed him: ²¹ With whom My hand shall be established: My arm also shall strengthen him. ²² The enemy shall not practice extortion upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him. ²³ And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague those that hate him.

¹⁵ For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

⁹ Then you shall call, and the LORD shall answer; you shall cry, and He shall say, 'Here I am.' If you take away the yoke from the midst of you, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

¹⁵ Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of Your holiness and of Your glory: Where is Your zeal and Your strength, the sounding of Your bowels and of Your mercies toward me? Are they restrained?

⁹ In this manner, therefore, pray: 'Our Father which is in heaven, hallowed be Your name.

³³ Therefore being exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has shed forth this, which you now see and hear.

³⁶ "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this same Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ."

¹⁰ let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by Him does this man stand here before you whole.

³¹ God has exalted Him with His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

⁵ And the Philistines gathered themselves together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is upon the seashore in multitude: And they came up, and pitched in Michmash, eastward from Bethaven.

⁴ And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: And David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for a hundred chariots.

¹⁸ And the Syrians fled before Israel; and David slew the men of seven hundred chariots of the Syrians, and forty thousand horsemen, and smote Shobach the captain of their host, who died there.

¹⁰ But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister to the LORD, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait on their business: ¹¹ And they burn to the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: The show-bread also set they in order on the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with its lamps, to burn every evening: For we keep the charge of the LORD our God; but you have forsaken him. ¹² And behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight you not against the LORD God of your fathers; for you shall not prosper.

¹⁶ And the children of Israel fled before Judah: And God delivered them into their hand.

¹¹ And Asa cried out to the LORD his God, and said, "LORD, it is nothing with you to help, whether with many, or with those that have no power: Help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on you, and in your name we go against this multitude. O LORD, you are our God; let no man prevail against you.

¹² O our God, will you not judge them? For we have no might against this great company that comes against us; neither know we what to do: But our eyes are on you. ¹³ And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children. ¹⁴ Then on Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the middle of the congregation; ¹⁵ and he said, "Listen you, all Judah, an d all you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you king Jehoshaphat, Thus says the LORD to you, Do not be afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's. ¹⁶ Tomorrow go down against them: Behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and you shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. ¹⁷ You shall not need to fight in this battle: Set yourselves, stand you still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: Fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: For the LORD will be with you. ¹⁸ And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: And all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD. ¹⁹ And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high. ²⁰ And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: And as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Hear me, O Judah, an d all you inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall you be established; believe his prophets, so shall you prosper.

⁸ With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

¹⁶ There is no king saved by the multitude of an army: A mighty man is not delivered by much strength. ¹⁷ A horse is a vain thing for safety: Neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.

¹⁷ I will make Your name to be remembered in all generations: Therefore the people shall praise You forever and ever.

³¹ The horse is prepared against the day of battle: But safety is of the LORD.

¹⁶ But you said, "No; for we will flee on horses"; therefore you shall flee: And, "We will ride on the swift"; therefore those that pursue you shall be swift.

¹ Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!

⁵ Thus says the LORD; "Cursed is the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh the arm of his strength, and whose heart departs from the LORD.

³¹ So let all your enemies perish, O LORD: But let those that love him be as the sun when he goes forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.

²¹ Evil shall slay the wicked: And those that hate the righteous shall be desolate. ²² The LORD redeems the soul of His servants: And none of those that trust in Him shall be desolate.

¹ A Song of degrees. Those who trust in the LORD shall be as Mount Zion which cannot be removed, but abides forever.

⁵ Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God: ⁶ Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that is in them: Which keeps truth forever: ⁷ Which executes justice for the oppressed: Which gives food to the hungry. The LORD lets loose the prisoners: ⁸ The LORD opens the eyes of the blind: The LORD raises those who are bowed down: The LORD loves the righteous: ⁹ The LORD preserves the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow: But the way of the wicked He turns upside down.

⁷ Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. ⁸ For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, and which spreads out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat comes, but her leaves shall be green; and shall not be anxious in the year of drought, nor shall cease from yielding fruit.

⁸ Rejoice not against me, O my enemy: When I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light to me.

⁶ "Yet I have set My king upon My holy hill of Zion." ⁷ "I will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me, 'You are My Son; this day I have begotten You. ⁸ Ask of Me, and I shall give You the heathen for Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for Your possession. ⁹ You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.' " ¹⁰ Be wise now therefore, O you kings: Be instructed, you judges of the earth.

⁷ Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: For You have smitten all my enemies upon the cheek bone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.

² Listen to the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: For to You I will pray.

⁶ I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God: Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech.

⁷ Lift up your heads, O you gates; and be lifted up, you everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

⁴ You are my King, O God: Command deliverances for Jacob.

¹² For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

²⁵ Save now, I beseech You, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech You, send now prosperity. ²⁶ Blessed is he that comes in the name of the LORD; We have blessed You out of the house of the LORD.

⁹ And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried out, saying: "Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest."

¹⁵ But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David"; they were intensely displeased,
