³⁵ You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in length, in weight, or in measure. ³⁶ Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall you have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.

¹³ You shall not have in your bag diverse weights, a great and a small. ¹⁴ You shall not have in your house diverse measures, a great and a small. ¹⁵ But you shall have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shall you have: That your days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD your God gives you. ¹⁶ For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination to the LORD your God.

¹¹ A just weight and balance are the LORD's: All the weights of the bag are His work.

¹⁰ Diverse weights, and diverse measures, both of them alike are abomination to the LORD.

²³ Diverse weights are an abomination to the LORD; and a false balance is not good.

¹⁰ "You shall have just balances, and a just ephah, and a just bath. ¹¹ The ephah and the bath shall be of one measure, that the bath may contain the tenth part of a homer, and the ephah the tenth part of a homer: its measure shall be according to the homer. ¹² And the shekel shall be twenty gerahs: Twenty shekels, twenty-five shekels, fifteen shekels, shall be your maneh.

⁷ He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: He loves to oppress.

⁵ saying, "When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? And the Sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?new moon; or, month ⁶ That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yes, and sell the refuse of the wheat?"

¹⁰ Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? ¹¹ Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?

³⁴ Surely He scorns the scorners: But He gives grace to the lowly. ³⁵ The wise shall inherit glory: But shame shall be the promotion of fools.

³³ The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility.

¹⁸ Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. ¹⁹ It is better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

¹² Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honor is humility.

²³ A man's pride shall bring him low: But honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.

³⁰ The king spoke, and said, "Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?" ³¹ While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, "O king Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken; the kingdom has departed from you. ³² And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the wild beasts of the field: They shall make you to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He wills."

⁸ "When you are invited by anyone to a wedding, do not sit down in the highest room; lest a man more honorable than you be called by him; ⁹ and he who invited you and him come and say to you, 'Give this man a place'; and you begin with shame to take the lowest room. ¹⁰ But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he who invited you comes, he may say to you, 'Friend, go up higher': Then you shall have honor in the presence of those who sit at food with you. ¹¹ For whoever exalts himself shall be abased; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted."

¹⁴ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: For everyone who exalts himself shall be abased; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted."

¹ Now concerning things offered to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love edifies. ² And if any man thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.

²¹ Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on You.

¹ A Psalm of David. Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in my integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.

⁵ The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: But the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

⁶ Righteousness keeps him that is upright in the way: But wickedness overthrows the sinner.

³ The foolishness of man perverts his way: And his heart frets against the LORD.

⁷ The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.

¹⁸ Whoever walks uprightly shall be saved: But he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.

¹⁷ Do not be overly wicked, neither shall you be foolish: Why should you die before your time?

²⁸ And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and those that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.

¹⁷ If any man will do His will, he shall know about the doctrine, whether it is of God, or whether I speak of Myself.

¹ And the LORD said to Noah, "Come into the ark, you and all your house; for I have seen you are righteous before me in this generation.

¹⁸ Because there is wrath, beware lest he take you away with his stroke: Then a great ransom cannot deliver you. ¹⁹ Will he esteem your riches? No, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.

⁶ Those that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; ⁷ none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: ⁸ (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceases forever):

² Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: But righteousness delivers from death.

²⁸ In the way of righteousness is life; and in that pathway there is no death.

¹⁹ They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: Their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: They shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: Because it is the stumbling-block of their iniquity.

¹⁸ Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of His jealousy: For He shall even make a speedy riddance of all those that dwell in the land.

²⁶ For what is a man profited, if he gains the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

²⁰ But God said to him, 'You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: Then whose shall those things be, which you have provided?'

¹⁷ For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ.)

⁸ For bodily exercise profits little: But godliness is profitable to all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

²³ And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his donkey, and arose, and got him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the sepulcher of his father.

³ Then Esther the queen answered and said, "If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request: ⁴ For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for servants and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king's damage." ⁵ Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said to Esther the queen, "Who is he, and where is he, that dared presume in his heart to do so? ⁶ And Esther said, "The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman." Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen. ⁷ And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: And Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king. ⁸ Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman had fell upon the bed on which Esther was. Then the king said, "Will he also force the queen before me in the house?" As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face. ⁹ And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, "Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who had spoken good for the king, stands in the house of Haman." Then the king said, "Hang him on it."50 Hebrew cubits (of the scriptures) is approximately 91.2 feet, or 27.8m; per Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary and Easton's Illustrated Bible Dictionary, Appendix VI. ¹⁰ So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king's wrath was pacified.

¹⁵ The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: Their own foot is caught in the net which they hid. ¹⁶ The LORD is known by the judgment which He executes: The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.

³¹ Therefore they shall eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. ³² For the backsliding of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

⁶ In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

²² His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be held with the cords of his sins.

⁴ saying, "I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood." And they said, "What is that to us? You see to that." ⁵ Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hung himself.

³³ So shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come, when my recompense shall come before your face: Every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and brown among the sheep, that shall be counted stolen with me."

³⁷ Now that you have searched all my stuff, what have you found of all your household stuff? Set it here before my brethren and your brethren, that they may judge between us both.

³ Behold, here I am: Witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: Whose ox have I taken? Or whose donkey have I taken? Or whom have I defrauded? Whom have I oppressed? Or from whose hand have I received any bribe to blind my eyes with it? And I will restore it to you. ⁴ And they said, "You have not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither have you taken anything owed from any man's hand."

³² And the LORD shall return his blood on his own head, who fell on two men more righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword, my father David not knowing of it, to wit, Abner the son of Ner, captain of the host of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the host of Judah. ³³ Their blood shall therefore return on the head of Joab, and on the head of his seed forever: But on David, and on his seed, and on his house, and on his throne, shall there be peace forever from the LORD.

⁴⁴ The king said moreover to Shimei, You know all the wickedness which your heart is privy to, that you did to David my father: Therefore the LORD shall return your wickedness upon your own head;

¹⁵ He made a pit, and dug it, and has fallen into the ditch which he made. ¹⁶ His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own scalp.

⁸ He that digs a pit shall fall into it; and whoever breaks a hedge, a serpent shall bite him.

⁹ The enemy said, 'I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.' ¹⁰ You blew with Your wind, the sea covered them: They sank as lead in the mighty waters.

¹³ So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish: ¹⁴ Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider's web.

²⁰ But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.

⁴ His breath goes forth, he returns to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

²⁸ The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: But the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

³² The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: But the righteous has hope in his death.

⁹ Will you yet say before him who slays you, 'I am God?' But you shall be a man, and no God, in the hand of him who slays you.

¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have a great many goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry." ' ²⁰ But God said to him, 'You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: Then whose shall those things be, which you have provided?'

¹⁸ The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

³ For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior: I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for you. ⁴ Since you were precious in My sight, you have been honorable, and I have loved you: Therefore I will give men for you, and people for your life.

²³ Then the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of injury was found upon him, because he believed in his God. ²⁴ And the king commanded, and they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had mastery of them, and broke all their bones in pieces even before they came to the bottom of the den.

¹⁸ He said to him, "I am a prophet also as you are; and an angel spoke to me by the word of the LORD, saying, "Bring him back with you into your house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied to him. ¹⁹ So he went back with him, and ate bread in his house, and drank water. ²⁰ And it came to pass, as they sat at the table, that the word of the LORD came to the prophet that brought him back: ²¹ And he cried out to the man of God that came from Judah, saying, "Thus says the LORD, For as much as you have disobeyed the mouth of the LORD, and have not kept the commandment which the LORD your God commanded you, ²² but came back, and have eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which the Lord did say to you, Eat no bread, and drink no water; your carcass shall not come to the sepulcher of your fathers.

⁶ Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, "Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, "Go up; for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.

²⁰ And the LORD said, "Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner. ²¹ And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, "I will persuade him. ²² And the LORD said to him, "With which? And he said, "I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, "You shall persuade him, and prevail also: Go forth, and do so. ²³ Now therefore, behold, the LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets, and the LORD has spoken evil concerning you.

¹³ So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:

³⁰ That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.

¹² For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: Neither was it he who hated me that magnified himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him:

²⁰ He has put forth his hands against such as are at peace with him: He has broken his covenant. ²¹ The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: His words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords.

¹⁰ When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul; ¹¹ discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep you: ¹² To deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks froward things; ¹³ who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; ¹⁴ who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; ¹⁵ whose ways are crooked, and those froward in their paths: ¹⁶ To deliver you from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flatters with her words;

⁵ Get wisdom, get understanding: Forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. ⁶ Do not forsake, and she shall preserve you: Love her, and she shall keep you.

²³ For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: ²⁴ To keep you from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.

¹⁵ Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

⁵ But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or his mother, "Whatever you might be profited by me, it is a gift"; ⁶ and does not honor his father or his mother, thinking he shall be exempt.' Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. ⁷ You hypocrites, Isaiah prophesied well concerning you, saying: ⁸ 'These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips; but their heart is far from Me. ⁹ But in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' " ¹⁰ Then He called the multitude, and said to them, "Hear and understand: ¹¹ That which goes into the mouth does not defile a man; but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man." ¹² Then His disciples came, and said to Him, "Do you know that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?" ¹³ But He answered and said, "Every plant, which My heavenly Father has not planted, shall be plucked up by the root. ¹⁴ Leave them alone: They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both shall fall into the ditch."

¹⁴ "But when you see the 'abomination of desolation', spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not" (let him that reads understand), "Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains:

²² For false christs and false prophets shall rise and show signs and wonders to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. ²³ But take heed: Behold, I have foretold you all things.

³⁰ Also men shall arise from among your own selves, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after themselves.

¹³ For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. ¹⁴ And no wonder; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. ¹⁵ Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also are transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

¹³ Until we all come into the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: ¹⁴ That from this time forward we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the artful tricks of men, and cunning craftiness, by which they lie in wait to deceive;

⁸ And then that Wicked one shall be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the Spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming: ⁹ Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰ and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in those that perish; because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

¹ Now the Spirit expressly speaks, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; ² speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; ³ forbidding to marry; and commanding to abstain from meats, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

¹ But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privately shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. ² And many shall follow their pernicious ways; because of by whom the way of truth shall be spoken evil of. ³ And through covetousness they shall make merchandise of you with feigned words: Whose judgment will now not linger for a long time, and their damnation does not slumber.

¹⁶ as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things that are hard to be understood, which those who are unlearned and unstable twist, as they do also the other scriptures, to their own destruction. ¹⁷ You therefore, beloved, seeing you know these things beforehand, beware lest you also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness. ¹⁸ But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen.

²¹ I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

²⁷ But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that any man teach you: But as the same anointing teaches you about all things, and is truth, and is not a lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall abide in Him.

²¹ And Miriam answered them, "Sing to the LORD, for He has triumphed gloriously; He has thrown the horse and his rider into the sea."

³¹ So let all your enemies perish, O LORD: But let those that love him be as the sun when he goes forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.

¹⁵ And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple: And the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad. ¹⁶ The Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honor.

²³ Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.

¹⁰ The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance: He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. ¹¹ So that a man shall say, "Truly there is a reward for the righteous: Truly He is a God that judges in the earth."

¹² When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: But when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.

²⁸ When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: But when they perish, the righteous increase.

¹ And after these things I heard a great voice of many people in heaven, saying, "Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, to the Lord our God: ² For His judgments are true and righteous: For He has judged the great whore, which corrupted the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of His servants at her hand." ³ And again they said, "Alleluia. And her smoke rose up forever and ever." ⁴ And the twenty-four elders and the four beasts fell down and worshiped God that sat on the throne, saying, "Amen; Alleluia." ⁵ Then a voice came out of the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all you His servants, and you that fear Him, both small and great." ⁶ And I heard as it were the voice of a large multitude, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia: For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns. ⁷ Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to Him: For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready."

³⁸ And Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find such a one as he is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?" ³⁹ And Pharaoh said to Joseph, "For as much as God has shown you all this, there is none so discreet and wise as you are: ⁴⁰ You shall be over my house, and according to your word shall all my people be ruled: Only in the throne will I be greater than you." ⁴¹ And Pharaoh said to Joseph, "See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt." ⁴² And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in clothing of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;

⁸ So now it was not you that sent me here, but God: And He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

¹ And there happened to be there a man of Belial, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite: And he blew a trumpet, and said, "We have no part in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: Every man to his tents, O Israel.

²⁰ And for this cause Hezekiah the king, and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz, prayed and cried out to heaven. ²¹ And the LORD sent an angel, which cut off all the mighty men of valor, and the leaders and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. And when he was come into the house of his god, those that came forth of his own bowels slew him there with the sword. ²² Thus the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all other, and guided them on every side.

⁸ And Haman said to king Ahasuerus, "There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of your kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither do they keep the king's laws: Therefore it is not for the king's profit to endure them. ⁹ If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: And I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king's treasuries." ¹⁰ And the king took his ring from his hand, and gave it to Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews' enemy. ¹¹ And the king said to Haman, "The silver is given to you, the people also, to do with them as it seems good to you." ¹² Then the king's scribes were called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded to the king's lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing of it, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus it was written, and sealed with the king's ring. ¹³ And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey. ¹⁴ As a commandment to be given in every province, a copy of the writing was published to all people, that they should be ready against that day. ¹⁵ The posts went out, being hastened by the king's commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed.

¹ Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over those that hated them); ² The Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt: And no man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell upon all people. ³ And all the rulers of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the deputies, and officers of the king, helped the Jews; because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them. ⁴ For Mordecai was great in the king's house, and his fame went out throughout all the provinces: For this man Mordecai waxed greater and greater. ⁵ Thus the Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and slaughter, and destruction, and did what they would to those that hated them. ⁶ And in Shushan the palace the Jews slew and destroyed five hundred men. ⁷ And Parshandatha, and Dalphon, and Aspatha, ⁸ and Poratha, and Adalia, and Aridatha, ⁹ and Parmashta, and Arisai, and Aridai, and Vajezatha, ¹⁰ they slew the ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews; but on the spoil they did not lay their hands. ¹¹ On that day the number of those that were slain in Shushan the palace was brought before the king. ¹² And the king said to Esther the queen, "The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in Shushan the palace, and the ten sons of Haman; what have they done in the rest of the king's provinces? Now what is your petition? And it shall be granted you: Or what is your request further? And it shall be done." ¹³ Then Esther said, "If it please the king, let it be granted to the Jews which are in Shushan to also do tomorrow according to this day's decree, and let Haman's ten sons be hanged on the gallows." ¹⁴ And the king commanded it to be so done: And the decree was given at Shushan; and they hanged Haman's ten sons. ¹⁵ For the Jews that were in Shushan also gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan; but on the prey they did not lay their hands. ¹⁶ But the other Jews that were in the king's provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and had rest from their enemies, and slew seventy-five thousand of their foes, but they did not lay their hands on the prey,

³⁰ He shall deliver the island of the innocent: And it is delivered by the pureness of your hands.

³⁴ Righteousness exalts a nation: But sin is a reproach to any people.

⁸ Scornful men bring a city into a snare: But wise men turn away wrath.

¹⁵ Now there was a poor wise man found in it, and he delivered the city by his wisdom; yet no man remembered that same poor man.

⁶ And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: Thus is the tongue among our members, that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

²⁷ And they went out into the fields, and gathered their vineyards, and stepped the grapes, and made merry, and went into the house of their god, and ate and drink, and cursed Abimelech. ²⁸ And Gaal the son of Ebed said, "Who is Abimelech, and who is Shechem, that we should serve him? Is not he the son of Jerubbaal? And Zebul his officer? Serve the men of Hamor the father of Shechem: For why should we serve him? ²⁹ And would to God this people were under my hand! Then would I remove Abimelech. And he said to Abimelech, "Increase your army, and come out.

³⁸ Then said Zebul to him, Where is now your mouth, with which you said, "Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him? Is not this the people that you have despised? Go out, I pray now, and fight with them.

²⁷ But the children of Belial said, "How shall this man save us?" And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace.

³⁶ But the people held their peace, and answered him not a word: For the king's commandment was, saying, "Answer him not.

² And he spoke before his brothers and the army of Samaria, and said, "What do these feeble Jews? Will they fortify themselves? Will they sacrifice? Will they make an end in a day? Will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned? ³ Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, "Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall. ⁴ Hear, O our God; for we are despised: And turn their reproach on their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity:

³ Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: For we are exceedingly filled with contempt. ⁴ Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those who are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.

¹⁹ In the multitude of words sin is not lacking: But he that refrains his lips is wise.

²¹ He that despises his neighbor sins: But he that has mercy on the poor, happy is he.

¹⁴ Moreover the Pharisees, who were covetous, also heard all these things: And they derided Him.

⁹ Moreover He spoke this parable to certain ones who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

⁴⁸ Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed on Him? ⁴⁹ But this people who does not know the law are cursed." ⁵⁰ Nicodemus (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them), said to them, ⁵¹ "Does our law judge any man, before it hears him, and know what he does?" ⁵² They answered and said to him, "Are you also from Galilee? Search, and look: For out of Galilee no prophet has arisen."

²³ Who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten; but committed Himself to Him that judges righteously:

¹⁶ You shall not go up and down as a talebearer among your people: Neither shall you stand against the blood of your neighbor; I am the LORD.

¹⁴ And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if you utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD has given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you.

²⁰ And if you utter this our business, then we will be quit of your oath which you have made us to swear.

¹⁷ Moreover in those days the nobles of Judah sent many letters to Tobiah, and the letters of Tobiah came to them. ¹⁸ For there were many in Judah sworn to him, because he was the son-in-law of Shechaniah the son of Arah; and his son Johanan had taken the daughter of Meshullam the son of Berechiah. ¹⁹ Also they reported his good deeds before me, and uttered my words to him. And Tobiah sent letters to put me in fear.

⁵ A faithful witness will not lie: But a false witness will utter lies.

¹⁹ He that goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets: Therefore do not engage with him that flatters with his lips.

⁹ Debate your cause with your neighbor himself; and do not disclose a secret to another:

²⁰ Where no wood is, there the fire goes out: So where there is no talebearer, the strife ceases. ²¹ As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife. ²² The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

²⁷ Then all the princes came to Jeremiah, and asked him: And he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.

¹³ And together they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but also tattlers and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

¹ And Rehoboam went to Shechem: For all Israel were come to Shechem to make him king. ² And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was yet in Egypt, heard of it, (for he had fled from the presence of king Solomon, and Jeroboam dwelled in Egypt); ³ That they sent and called him. And Jeroboam and all the congregation of Israel came, and spoke to Rehoboam, saying, ⁴ your father made our yoke grievous: Now therefore make you the grievous service of your father, and his heavy yoke which he put on us, lighter, and we will serve you. ⁵ And he said to them, "Depart yet for three days, then come again to me. And the people departed. ⁶ And king Rehoboam consulted with the old men, that stood before Solomon his father while he still lived, and said, "How do you advise that I may answer this people? ⁷ And they spoke to him, saying, "If you will be a servant to this people this day, and will serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants forever. ⁸ But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him: ⁹ And he said to them, "What counsel give you that we may answer this people, who have spoken to me, saying, "Make the yoke which your father did put on us lighter? ¹⁰ And the young men that were grown up with him spoke to him, saying, "Thus shall you speak to this people that spoke to you, saying, "Your father made our yoke heavy, but make you it lighter to us; thus shall you say to them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins. ¹¹ And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: My father has chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions. ¹² So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king had appointed, saying, "Come to me again the third day. ¹³ And the king answered the people roughly, and forsook the old men's counsel that they gave him; ¹⁴ and spoke to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, "My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: My father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions. ¹⁵ Why the king did not hearken to the people; for the cause was from the LORD, that he might perform his saying, "which the LORD spoke by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat. ¹⁶ So when all Israel saw that the king did not hearken to them, the people answered the king, saying, "What portion have we in David? Neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: To your tents, O Israel: Now see to your own house, David. So Israel departed to their tents. ¹⁷ But as for the children of Israel which dwelled in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them. ¹⁸ Then king Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was over the tribute; and all Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. Therefore king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem. ¹⁹ So Israel rebelled against the house of David to this day.

²² Without counsel purposes are disappointed: But in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

²² Understanding is a wellspring of life to him that has it: But the instruction of fools is folly.

¹⁸ Every purpose is established by counsel: And with good advice make war.

⁶ For by wise counsel you shall make your war: And in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

¹¹ Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh has become brutish: How do you say to Pharaoh, "I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?" ¹² Where are they? Where are your wise men? And let them tell you now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts has purposed on Egypt. ¹³ The princes of Zoan have become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even those who are the support of its tribes. ¹⁴ The LORD has mingled a perverse spirit in the midst of it: And they have caused Egypt to err in every work of it, as a drunken man staggers in his vomit.

⁶ And the apostles and elders came together to consider this matter. ⁷ And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said to them, "Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. ⁸ Also God, which knows the hearts, bore witness to them, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as He did to us; ⁹ and made no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. ¹⁰ Now therefore, why do you tempt God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? ¹¹ But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they shall be saved." ¹² Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had worked among the Gentiles by them. ¹³ And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, "Men and brethren, hearken to me: ¹⁴ Simon has declared how God at first visited the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for His name. ¹⁵ And the words of the prophets agree with this; as it is written, ¹⁶ 'After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; and I will build again its ruins, and I will set it up: ¹⁷ That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom My name is called, says the Lord, who does all these things.' ¹⁸ "Known to God are all His works from the beginning of the world. ¹⁹ Therefore my decree is that we do not trouble those from among the Gentiles which have turned to God: ²⁰ But that we write to them that they abstain from pollutions of idols, from fornication, from things strangled, and from blood. ²¹ For since old times there is in every city those who preach Moses, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath day."

¹ My son, if you be surety for your friend, if you have shaken your hand in pledge with a stranger, ² you are snared with the words of your mouth, you are taken with the words of your mouth. ³ Do this now, my son, and deliver yourself, when you have come into the hand of your friend; go, humble yourself, and so shall you prevail with your friend. ⁴ Do not give sleep to your eyes, nor slumber to your eyelids. ⁵ Deliver yourself as a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.

¹⁸ A man void of understanding strikes hands, and becomes surety in the presence of his friend.

¹⁶ Take his garment that is surety for a stranger: And take a pledge from him for a strange woman.

²⁶ Do not be one of those that strike hands, or of those that are surety for debts. ²⁷ If you have nothing to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?

³² And David said to Abigail, "Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which sent you to meet me this day: ³³ And blessed be your advice, and blessed be you, which have kept me from coming to shed blood this day, and from avenging myself with my own hand.

¹⁶ Then cried a wise woman out of the city, Hear, hear; say, "I implore you, to Joab, Come near here, that I may speak with you. ¹⁷ And when he was come near to her, the woman said, "Are you Joab? And he answered, I am he. Then she said to him, "Hear the words of your handmaid. And he answered, I do hear. ¹⁸ Then she spoke, saying, "They were wont to speak in old time, saying, "They shall surely ask counsel at Abel: And so they ended the matter. ¹⁹ I am one of those that are peaceable and faithful in Israel: You seek to destroy a city and a mother in Israel: Why will you swallow up the inheritance of the LORD? ²⁰ And Joab answered and said, "Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy. ²¹ The matter is not so: But a man of Mount Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, has lifted up his hand against the king, even against David: Deliver him only, and I will depart from the city. And the woman said to Joab, "Behold, his head shall be thrown to you over the wall. ²² Then the woman went to all the people in her wisdom. And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri, and cast it out to Joab. And he blew a trumpet, and they retired from the city, every man to his tent. And Joab returned to Jerusalem to the king.

²⁵ but when Esther came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.

³⁰ Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: But a woman that fears the LORD, she shall be praised. ³¹ Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

¹³ Truly I say to you, Wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, there also shall be told what this woman has done, as a memorial of her."

³ and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, who ministered to Him out of their substance.

⁴² But one thing is necessary: And Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."

²¹ When a strong and armed man keeps his palace, his goods are in peace: ²² But when one stronger than he comes upon him, and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.

² And He also saw a certain poor widow casting two small bronze coins in there.two small bronze coins: In KJV, two mites; which were each equivalent to 1/8'th of an assarius "as" coin during Roman times. ³ And He said, "Truly I say to you, That this poor widow has cast in more than all of them: ⁴ For all these out of their abundance have cast in offerings for God: But she out of her poverty has cast in all the livelihood that she had."

³⁹ Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper chamber: And all the widows stood by him weeping, showing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

¹⁴ Then a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God, heard us: Whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended to the things which were spoken by Paul. ¹⁵ And when she was baptized, and her household, she implored us, saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there." Therefore she compelled us.

² That you receive her in the Lord, as befits saints, and that you assist her in whatever business she has need of you: For she has been an aid of many, and of myself also. ³ Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: ⁴ Who have laid down their own necks for my life: To whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.

⁶ Greet Mary, who gratuitously gave much labor for us.

¹ The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all those that have known the truth;

¹⁹ Because he has oppressed and has forsaken the poor; because he has violently taken away a house which he built not; ²⁰ surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired. ²¹ There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods. ²² In the fullness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: Every hand of the wicked shall come on him. ²³ When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath on him, and shall rain it on him while he is eating.

Blessed is he that considers the poor: The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. ² The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: And You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. ³ The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: You will make all his bed in his sickness. ⁴ I said, "LORD, be merciful to me: Heal my soul; for I have sinned against you."

⁴ To the upright there arises light in the darkness: He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. ⁵ A good man shows favor, and lends: He will guide his affairs with discretion. ⁶ Surely he shall not be moved forever: The righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. ⁷ He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: His heart is stable, trusting in the LORD. ⁸ His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he sees his desire upon his enemies. ⁹ He has dispersed, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.

²⁷ He that is greedy of gain troubles his own house; but he that hates gifts shall live.

⁸ There is one alone, and there is not a second; yes, he has neither child nor brother: Yet there is no end of all his labor; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither has he said, "For whom do I labor, and bereave my soul of good?" This also is vanity, yes, it is a sore travail.

⁷ Also the instruments of the rude are evil: He devises wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaks truth. ⁸ But the liberal devises liberal things; and by liberal things he shall stand.

¹ The righteous perishes, and no man takes it to heart: And merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

⁷ Is it not to deal your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor that are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you do not hide yourself from your own flesh? ⁸ Then your light shall break forth like the morning, and your health shall spring forth speedily: And your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your rear-guard. ⁹ Then you shall call, and the LORD shall answer; you shall cry, and He shall say, 'Here I am.' If you take away the yoke from the midst of you, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; ¹⁰ and if you draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then your light shall rise in obscurity, and your darkness be like the noon day: ¹¹ And the LORD shall guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and make your bones fat: And you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. ¹² And those who shall be of you shall build the old waste places: You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

²⁷ Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you, and break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of your tranquility."

⁷ Blessed are the merciful: For they shall obtain mercy.

¹⁴ For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: ¹⁵ But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

³⁴ Then the King shall say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: ³⁵ For I was hungry, and you gave Me food: I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink: I was a stranger, and you took Me in: ³⁶ Naked, and you clothed Me: I was sick, and you visited Me: I was in prison, and you came to Me.' ³⁷ Then the righteous shall answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You? Or thirsty, and gave You a drink?' ³⁸ When did we see You a stranger, and take You in? Or naked, and clothe You? ³⁹ Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and came to You?' ⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these My brethren, you have done it to Me.'

³⁸ Give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you estimate with, it shall be measured to you again."

⁶ But this I say, he which sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully. ⁷ Let every man give according to as he purposes in his heart; not grudgingly, nor of necessity: For God loves a cheerful giver. ⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: ⁹ (As it is written, "He has dispersed abroad; he has given to the poor: His righteousness remains forever." ¹⁰ Now He that ministers seed to the sower also ministers bread for your food, and multiplies your seed sown, and increases the fruits of your righteousness); ¹¹ being enriched in everything to all bountifulness, which causes thanksgiving to God through us. ¹² For the administration of this service not only supplies the lack of the saints, but also is abundant through many thanksgivings to God; ¹³ While through the proof of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution to them, and to all men; ¹⁴ and by their prayer for you, who long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.

¹⁷ Not because I desire a gift: But I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

¹³ For he that has shown no mercy shall have judgment without mercy; and mercy rejoices against judgment.

¹ Go now, you rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. ² Your riches are corrupted, and your clothes are moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver are cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as if it were fire. You have heaped treasure together for the last days. ⁴ Behold, the wages of the laborers who have harvested your fields, which you partially kept back by fraud, cries out: And the cries of those which have reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. ⁵ You have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; you have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

¹³ This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty. ¹⁴ If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: And his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread. ¹⁵ Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: And his widows shall not weep. ¹⁶ Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare clothing as the clay; ¹⁷ he may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver. ¹⁸ He builds his house as a moth, and as a booth that the keeper makes. ¹⁹ The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: He opens his eyes, and he is not. ²⁰ Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest steals him away in the night. ²¹ The east wind carries him away, and he departs: And as a storm hurles him out of his place. ²² For God shall cast on him, and not spare: He would fain flee out of his hand. ²³ Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.

⁵ Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. ⁶ He who goes forth and weeps, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

¹⁸ And they lay in wait for their own blood; they lurk privately for their own lives.

⁸ He that sows iniquity shall reap vanity: And the rod of his anger shall fail.

⁵ They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: He who eats of their eggs dies, and that which is crushed breaks out into a viper. ⁶ Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: Their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands. ⁷ Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. ⁸ The way of peace they do not know; and there is no judgment in their goings: They have made them crooked paths: Whoever goes in them shall not know peace.

¹² Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: For it is time to seek the LORD, until He comes and rains righteousness upon you. ¹³ You have plowed wickedness, you have reaped iniquity; you have eaten the fruit of lies: Because you trusted in your way, in the multitude of your mighty men.

⁸ For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. ⁹ And let us not be weary in well doing: For in due season we shall reap, if we do not faint.

²² That you put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

¹⁸ And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those that make peace.

¹⁶ For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. ¹⁷ Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird. ¹⁸ And they lay in wait for their own blood; they lurk privately for their own lives. ¹⁹ So are the ways of everyone that is greedy of gain; which takes away the life of its owners.

²² He immediately goes after her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; ²³ till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hastens to the snare, and does not know that it is for his life.

³⁶ But he that sins against me wrongs his own soul: All those that hate me love death."

¹⁶ The labor of the righteous tends to life: The fruit of the wicked to sin.

⁴ Riches do not profit in the day of wrath: But righteousness delivers from death.

²³ The fear of the LORD tends to life: And he that has it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

³⁵ But in every nation he that fears Him, and works righteousness, is accepted with Him.

⁸ But to those who are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, ⁹ tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that does evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

²³ For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁷ Little children, let no man deceive you: He that does righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous.

¹⁰ In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: Whoever does not perform righteousness is not of God, neither is he that does not love his brother.

¹⁷ I know also, my God, that You prove the heart through testing, and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things: And now I have seen with joy Your people, which are present here, to offer willingly to You.

⁷ For the righteous LORD loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright.

²⁵ With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; with an upright man You will show Yourself upright; ²⁶ with the pure You will show Yourself pure; and with the froward You will show Yourself froward.

⁶ Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts: And in the hidden part You shall make me to know wisdom.

¹ ALEPH: Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

¹³ Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name: The upright shall dwell in Your presence.

¹⁴ frowardness is in his heart, he devises mischief continually; he sows discord.

¹⁶ These six things the LORD hates: Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: ¹⁷ A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, ¹⁸ a heart that devises wicked imaginations, feet that are swift in running to mischief, ¹⁹ a false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brethren.

¹³ The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: Pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, I do hate.

⁷ He that reproves a scorner gets shame to himself: And he that rebukes a wicked man gets himself a blemish.

²² Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: But those that deal truly are His delight.

⁸ The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: But the prayer of the upright is His delight.

¹⁷ The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: He that keeps his way preserves his soul.

²⁹ A wicked man hardens his face: But as for the upright, he considers his way.

⁷ And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your seed after you in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you, and to your seed after you. ⁸ And I will give to you, and to your seed after you, the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."

² You shall not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shall you speak in a court case to decline morally after many to wrest judgment:speak: In Hebrew, answer

²⁶ He is ever merciful, and lends; and his seed is blessed.

¹ Praise the LORD. Blessed is the man that fears the LORD, that delights greatly in His commandments. ² His seed shall be mighty upon earth: The generation of the upright shall be blessed.

²² A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children: And the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

⁵ Everyone that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: Though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

⁴ Fury is not in Me: Who would set the briers and thorns against Me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together.

³⁹ And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:

³⁹ For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call."

⁴⁷ And I asked her, and said, 'Whose daughter are you?' And she said, 'The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bore to him': And I put the earring upon her face, and the bracelets upon her hands.

¹⁰ And behold, there met him a woman with the attire of a harlot, and subtle of heart.

¹³ A foolish woman is clamorous: She is simple, and knows nothing.

³⁰ Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: But a woman that fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

¹⁵ "But you trusted in your own beauty, and played the harlot because of your renown, and poured out your fornications on every one who passed by; his it was. ¹⁶ And you took from your garments, and decked your high places with various colors, and played the harlot upon them: Things which should not come, neither should they be so. ¹⁷ You have also taken your fair jewels of My gold and of My silver, which I had given you, and made to yourself images of men, and did commit whoredom with them, ¹⁸ and took your broidered garments, and covered them: And you have set My oil and My incense before them. ¹⁹ Also My meat which I gave you, fine flour, and oil, and honey, with which I fed you, you have even set it before them for a sweet smell: And thus it was", said the Lord GOD. ²⁰ "Moreover you have taken your sons and your daughters, whom you have borne to Me, and you have sacrificed these ones to them to be devoured. Are your whoredoms a small matter, ²¹ that you have slain My children, and delivered and caused these ones to pass through the fire for them? ²² And in all your abominations and your whoredoms you have not remembered the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, and were polluted in your blood.

⁴ Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the well-favored harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that sells nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts. ⁵ "Behold, I am against you", says the LORD of hosts; "and I will expose your skirts upon your face, and I will show the nations your nakedness, and the kingdoms your shame. ⁶ And I will cast abominable filth upon you, and make you vile, and will set you as a gazingstock.

³ Whose adorning, let it not be that outward adornment of braiding the hair, and of wearing gold, or of putting on apparel; ⁴ but let it be the hidden woman of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is of great value in the sight of God.

²² But it has happened to them according to the true proverb, "The dog returned to his own vomit again"; and, "the hog that was washed to her wallowing in the mire."

¹⁷ LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble: You will prepare their heart, You will cause Your ear to hear:

⁴ One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple.

⁴ Delight yourself also in the LORD: And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

⁷ And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You. ⁸ Deliver me from all my transgressions: Do not make me the reproach of the foolish.

⁵ O that my ways were directed to keep Your statutes!

¹⁰ With my whole heart I have sought You: O let me not wander from Your commandments.

⁷ When a wicked man dies, his expectation shall perish: And the hope of unjust men perishes.

⁹ With my soul I have desired You in the night; yes, with my spirit within me I will seek You early: For when Your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

¹⁶ As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow You: Neither have I desired the woeful day; You know: That which came out of my lips was right before You.

⁶ Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness: For they shall be filled.

²⁷ but a certain fearful expectation of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

¹⁰ You shall surely give him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him: Because that for this thing the LORD your God shall bless you in all your works, and in all that you put your hand to.

⁹ He has dispersed, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.

¹⁸ The wicked works a deceitful work: But to him that sows righteousness shall be a sure reward.

¹⁷ He that has pity upon the poor lends to the LORD; and that which he has given He will repay him again.

⁸ He that by usury and unjust gain increases his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.

¹ Cast your bread upon the waters: For you shall find it after many days. ² Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for you do not know what evil shall be on the earth.

⁶ In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening do not withhold your hand: For you do not know which shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both alike shall be good.

⁶ You all have sown much, and bring in little; all you eat, but you all do not have enough; all you drink, but you all are not filled with drink; all you clothe yourselves, but there are none warm; and he that earns wages earns wages to put it into a bag with holes."

⁹ "You all looked for much, and lo, it came to little; and when you all brought it home, I blew upon it. Why?" says the LORD of hosts. "Because of My house that is in waste, and all of you, every man, runs to his own house. ¹⁰ Therefore the heaven over you is kept back from dew, and the earth is kept back from her fruit. ¹¹ And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the grain, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground brings forth, and upon men, and upon domestic beasts, and upon all the labor of the hands."

¹⁶ Ever since those days, when one came to a heap of twenty measures, there were but only ten: When one came to the fat-press to draw out fifty vessels from the press, there were but only twenty.20 measures was equivalent to 9 gallons, 3 quarts; or approximately 36.9 liters ¹⁷ I smote you with blasting, and with mildew, and with hail in all the labors of your hands; yet you all have not turned to Me', says the LORD. ¹⁸ 'Now consider from this day onward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD's temple was laid, consider it. ¹⁹ Is the seed still in the barn? Yes, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not brought forth: From this day forward I will bless you.' "

²⁹ Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren who dwelt in Judea: ³⁰ Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

⁵ Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go to you ahead of time, and compose beforehand your blessing of bounty, of which you had previous notice, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness. ⁶ But this I say, he which sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully. ⁷ Let every man give according to as he purposes in his heart; not grudgingly, nor of necessity: For God loves a cheerful giver. ⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: ⁹ (As it is written, "He has dispersed abroad; he has given to the poor: His righteousness remains forever." ¹⁰ Now He that ministers seed to the sower also ministers bread for your food, and multiplies your seed sown, and increases the fruits of your righteousness); ¹¹ being enriched in everything to all bountifulness, which causes thanksgiving to God through us.

¹³ The blessing of him that was ready to perish came on me: And I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy. ¹⁴ I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: My judgment was as a robe and a diadem. ¹⁵ I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame. ¹⁶ I was a father to the poor: And the cause which I did not know I searched out. ¹⁷ And I broke the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth. ¹⁸ Then I said, "I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiply my days as the sand.

¹⁶ If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail; ¹⁷ or have eaten my morsel myself alone, and the fatherless has not eaten of it; ¹⁸ (For from my youth he was brought up with me, as with a father, and I have guided her from my mother's womb); ¹⁹ If I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or any poor without covering; ²⁰ if his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

²⁷ He that gives to the poor shall not lack: But he that hides his eyes shall have many a curse.

⁸ But the liberal devises liberal things; and by liberal things he shall stand.

⁷ Is it not to deal your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor that are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you do not hide yourself from your own flesh? ⁸ Then your light shall break forth like the morning, and your health shall spring forth speedily: And your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your rear-guard. ⁹ Then you shall call, and the LORD shall answer; you shall cry, and He shall say, 'Here I am.' If you take away the yoke from the midst of you, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; ¹⁰ and if you draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then your light shall rise in obscurity, and your darkness be like the noon day: ¹¹ And the LORD shall guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and make your bones fat: And you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

³⁴ Then the King shall say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: ³⁵ For I was hungry, and you gave Me food: I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink: I was a stranger, and you took Me in:

²⁴ He that says to the wicked, "You are righteous"; the people shall curse him, nations shall abhor him:

⁴ Hear this, O you that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail,

¹⁰ So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king's wrath was pacified.

² The wicked in his pride persecutes the poor: Let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

⁶ They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: They have dug a pit before me, into the midst of which they themselves have fallen. Selah.

¹¹ An evil man seeks only rebellion: Therefore a cruel messenger shall be sent against him.

¹² Lest when you have eaten and are full, and have built goodly houses, and dwelled in it; ¹³ and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold is multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied; ¹⁴ then your heart be lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

²⁴ If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, You are my confidence; ²⁵ if I rejoice because my wealth was great, and because my hand had gotten much;

³ And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

⁶ Those that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

⁷ Lo, this is the man that did not make God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness. ⁸ But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.

¹⁰ Do not trust in oppression, and do not become ostentatious in robbery: If riches increase, do not set your heart upon them.

¹² The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. ¹³ Those that are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. ¹⁴ They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;flourishing: In Hebrew, green

¹⁵ The rich man's wealth is his strong city: The destruction of the poor is their poverty.

²¹ Your people shall all be righteous also: They shall inherit the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified.

⁸ For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, and which spreads out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat comes, but her leaves shall be green; and shall not be anxious in the year of drought, nor shall cease from yielding fruit.

²⁴ And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again, and said to them, "Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! ²⁵ It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."

¹⁷ Charge those that are rich in this world, that they are not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;

³⁰ And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, "You have troubled me to make me abhorred among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: And I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, my house and I."

²⁴ And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his donkeys, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had: And they brought them to the valley of Achor. ²⁵ And Joshua said, "Why have you troubled us? The LORD shall trouble you this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones.

³ Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail: And she was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance: But the man was churlish and evil in his doings; and he was of the house of Caleb.

¹⁷ Now therefore know and consider what you will do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his household: For he is such a son of Belial, that a man cannot speak to him."

³⁸ And it came to pass about ten days after, that the LORD smote Nabal, that he died.

¹⁹ The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

¹⁶ And this also is a sore evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go: And what profit does he have who has labored for the wind?

⁷ For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: It has no stalk; the bud shall yield no meal: If per chance it does yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.

⁹ Woe to him that covets an evil covetousness to establish his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil! ¹⁰ You have consulted shame to establish your house by cutting off many people, and have sinned against your soul.

¹⁸ She is a tree of life to those that lay hold upon her: And happy is everyone that retains her.

⁴ A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: But perverseness in it is a breach in the spirit.

³ And those who are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and those who turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever.

¹⁹ And He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."

⁹ For he was astonished, and all who were with him, at the draw of the fish which they had taken: ¹⁰ And so also were James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not fear; from this time forward you shall catch men."

³⁶ And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit to life eternal: That both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.

¹⁹ For though I am free from all men, yet I have made myself servant to all, that I might gain all the more. ²⁰ And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to those that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain those that are under the law; ²¹ to those that are without law, as without law (not being without law to God, but under the law to Christ), that I might gain those that are without law. ²² To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. ²³ Now this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be a partaker of it with you.

¹⁹ For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?

²⁰ let him know, that he who converts the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

¹⁴ I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: ¹⁵ But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you.

⁹ Why have you despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? You have killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and have taken his wife to be your wife, and have slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon. ¹⁰ Now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house; because you have despised me, and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife. ¹¹ Thus says the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house, and I will take your wives before your eyes, and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun. ¹² For you did it secretly: But I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

²⁴ And when he was gone, a lion met him by the way, and slew him: And his carcass was cast in the way, and the donkey stood by it, the lion also stood by the carcass.

²¹ Evil pursues sinners: But to the righteous good shall be repaid.

²⁹ For lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by My name, and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished: For I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth", said the LORD of hosts.'

³⁰ For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many deceased. ³¹ For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. ³² But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

¹⁷ For the time has come that judgment must begin at the house of God: And if it begins first with us, what shall be the end of those that do not obey the gospel of God? ¹⁸ And "if the righteous are scarcely saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?"
