⁴ And they journeyed from Mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: And the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.

⁹ And Moses spoke thus to the children of Israel: But they did not hearken to Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.

⁷ And why discourage you the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD has given them?

⁹ For when they went up to the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which the LORD had given them.

⁴¹ And they departed from Mount Hor, and pitched in Zalmonah.

⁴⁰ But as for you, turn yourself, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.

⁵ Meddle not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot breadth; because I have given Mount Seir to Esau for a possession. ⁶ You shall buy meat of them for money, that you may eat; and you shall also buy water of them for money, that you may drink. ⁷ For the LORD your God has blessed you in all the works of your hand: He knows your walking through this great wilderness: These forty years the LORD your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing. ⁸ And when we passed by from our brothers the children of Esau, which dwelled in Seir, through the way of the plain from Elath, and from Eziongaber, we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.

¹⁸ Then they went along through the wilderness, and compassed the land of Edom, and the land of Moab, and came by the east side of the land of Moab, and pitched on the other side of Arnon, but came not within the border of Moab: For Arnon was the border of Moab.

²² confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
