¹ Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: And the people stayed in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there. ² And there was no water for the congregation: And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron. ³ And the people strived with Moses, and spoke, saying, "Would God that we had died when our brothers died before the LORD! ⁴ And why have you brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our domestic beasts should die there? ⁵ And why have you made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in to this evil place? It is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink. ⁶ And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: And the glory of the LORD appeared to them. ⁷ And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ⁸ take the rod, and gather you the assembly together, you, and Aaron your brother, and speak you to the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and you shall bring forth to them water out of the rock: So you shall give the congregation and their beasts drink. ⁹ And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him. ¹⁰ And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said to them, "Hear now, you rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? ¹¹ And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: And the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. ¹² And the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, Because you believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. ¹³ This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them. ¹⁴ And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom, Thus said your brother Israel, You know all the travail that has befallen us: ¹⁵ How our fathers went down into Egypt, and we have dwelled in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians vexed us, and our fathers: ¹⁶ And when we cried out to the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and has brought us forth out of Egypt: And behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of your border: ¹⁷ Let us pass, I implore you, through your country: We will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: We will go by the king's high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed your borders. ¹⁸ And Edom said to him, "You shall not pass by me, lest I come out against you with the sword. ¹⁹ And the children of Israel said to him, "We will go by the high way: And if I and my domestic beasts drink of your water, then I will pay for it: I will only, without doing anything else, go through on my feet. ²⁰ And he said, "You shall not go through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand. ²¹ Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: Why Israel turned away from him. ²² And the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh, and came to Mount Hor. ²³ And the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron in Mount Hor, by the border of the land of Edom, saying, ²⁴ aaron shall be gathered to his people: For he shall not enter into the land which I have given to the children of Israel, because you rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah. ²⁵ Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up to Mount Hor: ²⁶ And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them on Eleazar his son: And Aaron shall be gathered to his people, and shall die there. ²⁷ And Moses did as the LORD commanded: And they went up into Mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation. ²⁸ And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them on Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: And Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount. ²⁹ And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.

⁴ And his sister stood afar off, to know what would be done to him.

⁷ Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, "Shall I go and call to you a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?"

²⁰ And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand; and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances.

¹ And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: For he had married an Ethiopian woman.

¹⁰ And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: And Aaron looked on Miriam, and behold, she was leprous.

¹⁵ And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: And the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.

²¹ So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, as men come to Hamath.

¹⁶ And when we cried out to the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and has brought us forth out of Egypt: And behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of your border:

⁵⁹ And the name of Amram's wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, whom her mother bore to Levi in Egypt: And she bore to Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.

¹⁴ For you rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: That is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.

³⁶ And they removed from Eziongaber, and pitched in the wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh.

²² And you came near to me every one of you, and said, "We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come. ²³ And the saying pleased me well: And I took twelve men of you, one of a tribe:

¹⁴ And the space in which we came from Kadeshbarnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the LORD swore to them.

⁵¹ Because you trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of MeribahKadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because you sanctified me not in the middle of the children of Israel.

⁸ The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; the LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

⁴ For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of servants; and I sent Moses, Aaron, and Miriam before you.

²³ And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: Therefore the name of it was called Marah. ²⁴ And the people murmured against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink?"

² And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:

⁷ And in the morning, you shall then see the glory of the LORD; for He hears your murmurings against the LORD: And what are we, that you murmur against us?"

¹² "I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: Speak to them, saying, 'At sunset you shall eat flesh, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God.' "

¹ And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: And there was no water for the people to drink. ² For this reason the people chided with Moses, and said, "Give us water that we may drink." And Moses said to them, "Why do you chide with me? For which reason do you tempt the LORD?" ³ And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, "Is it for this reason that you have brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our domestic beasts with thirst?" ⁴ And Moses cried out to the LORD, saying, "What shall I do to this people? They are almost ready to stone me."

¹ And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: And the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed those that were in the uttermost parts of the camp. ² And the people cried out to Moses; and when Moses prayed to the LORD, the fire was quenched. ³ And he called the name of the place Taberah: Because the fire of the LORD burnt among them. ⁴ And the mixed multitude that was among them fell a lusting: And the children of Israel also wept again, and said, "Who shall give us flesh to eat? ⁵ We remember the fish, which we ate in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic: ⁶ But now our soul is dried away: There is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.

³ And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, "You take too much on you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: Why then lift you up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?

¹⁹ And Korah gathered all the congregation against them to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: And the glory of the LORD appeared to all the congregation.

⁴² And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation: And behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.

⁵ And the people spoke against God, and against Moses, Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loathes this light bread.

¹⁰ Nor murmur, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer. ¹¹ Now all these things happened to them as examples: And they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world has come.

² And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: ³ And the children of Israel said to them, "We wish to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we ate bread to the full; for you have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger."

² For this reason the people chided with Moses, and said, "Give us water that we may drink." And Moses said to them, "Why do you chide with me? For which reason do you tempt the LORD?"

³³ And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague. ³⁴ And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: Because there they buried the people that lusted.

¹ And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. ² And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: And the whole congregation said to them, "Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or would God we had died in this wilderness!

³⁶ And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land, ³⁷ even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the LORD.

³¹ And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground split asunder that was under them: ³² And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained to Korah, and all their goods. ³³ They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed on them: And they perished from among the congregation. ³⁴ And all Israel that were all around them fled at the cry of them: For they said, "Lest the earth swallow us up also. ³⁵ And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.

⁴⁹ Now those that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside those that died about the matter of Korah.

¹⁰ Because it shut not up the doors of my mother's womb, nor hid sorrow from my eyes. ¹¹ Why died I not from the womb? Why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?

⁹ They who are slain with the sword are better than they who are slain with hunger: For these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.

²¹ And they said to them, "The LORD look upon you, and judge; because you have made our odor to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us."

¹¹ And they said to Moses, "Have you taken us away to die in the wilderness because there were no graves in Egypt? Why have you dealt in this peculiar way with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? ¹² Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, 'Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians?' For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness."

³ And the children of Israel said to them, "We wish to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we ate bread to the full; for you have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger."

³ And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, "Is it for this reason that you have brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our domestic beasts with thirst?"

⁵ We remember the fish, which we ate in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic:

¹³ Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land that flows with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, except you make yourself altogether a prince over us? ¹⁴ Moreover you have not brought us into a land that flows with milk and honey, or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: Will you put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up.

⁴¹ But on the next day all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, "You have killed the people of the LORD.

²¹ They forgot God their Savior, which had done great things in Egypt;

³⁵ "This Moses whom they refused, saying, 'Who made you a ruler and a judge?' is the same that God sent to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.

³⁹ Whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust Him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt, ⁴⁰ saying to Aaron, 'Make us gods to go before us: Because, as for this Moses who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.'

¹⁴ Moreover you have not brought us into a land that flows with milk and honey, or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: Will you put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up.

¹⁵ who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought you forth water out of the rock of flint;

²¹ Yes, forty years did you sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.

² "Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, 'Thus says the LORD; "I remember you, the kindness of your youth, the love of your espousals, when you went after Me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

⁶ Neither did they say, 'Where is the LORD who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelled?'

³⁶ Like I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will plead with you", said the Lord GOD.

¹⁰ And it came to pass, as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.

⁴ And Moses cried out to the LORD, saying, "What shall I do to this people? They are almost ready to stone me."

⁵ And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: And they both came forth.

⁵ Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.

¹⁰ But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel.

⁴ And when Moses heard it, he fell on his face:

²² And they fell upon their faces, and said, "O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and will you be wroth with all the congregation?

⁴⁵ get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.

⁶ And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of the LORD until the evening, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads.

¹⁶ And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the LORD stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand outstretched over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders of Israel, who were clothed in sackcloth, fell on their faces.

³ They compassed me all around with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause. ⁴ For my love they are my adversaries: But I give myself to prayer.

³⁹ And He went a little further, fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me: Nevertheless not as I will, but as You will."

¹⁴ Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son."

² And the LORD said to him, "What is that in your hand?" And he said, "A rod."

¹⁷ And you shall take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do signs."

²⁰ And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon a donkey, and he returned to the land of Egypt: And Moses took the rod of God in his hand.

²⁰ And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

¹⁶ But you, lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it: And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the middle of the sea.

⁵ And the LORD said to Moses, "Go on before the people, and take some of the elders of Israel with you; and your rod, with which you smote the river, take it in your hand, and go. ⁶ Behold, I will stand before you there upon the rock in Horeb; and you shall smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink." And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

⁹ And Moses said to Joshua, "Choose out men for us, and go out, fight with Amalek: Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand."

¹¹ And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: And the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

¹⁵ and at the stream of the brooks that goes down to the dwelling of Ar, and lies on the border of Moab.

¹⁸ The princes dig the well, the nobles of the people dig it, by the direction of the lawgiver, with their staffs. And from the wilderness they went to Mattanah:

⁵ And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when you all hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up, every man, straight before him."

²⁰ So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: And it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

¹⁵ And gave them bread from heaven for their hunger, and brought forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promised those that they should go in to possess the land which you had sworn to give them.

⁹ For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

¹⁵ He split the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths. ¹⁶ He also brought streams out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.

⁴¹ He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.

⁸ which turned the rock into a standing pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

¹⁷ When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue fails for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them. ¹⁸ I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the middle of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

²⁰ The wild beast of the field shall honor me, the dragons and the owls: Because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen.

²¹ And they did not thirst when He led them through the deserts: He caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: He split the rock also, and the waters gushed out.

²¹ Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, If you have faith, and do not doubt, you shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if you shall say to this mountain, 'Be removed, and be cast into the sea'; it shall be done.

²² And Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God. ²³ For truly, I say to you, that whoever shall say to this mountain, 'Be removed, and be cast into the sea'; and shall not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things which he says shall come to pass; he shall have whatever he says. ²⁴ Therefore I say to you, Whatever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.

¹³ If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children: How much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that says to you, 'Give Me a drink'; you would have asked of Him, and He would have given you living water." ¹¹ The woman said to Him, "Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: From what source then do you have that living water? ¹² Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, and his children, and his domestic beasts?" ¹³ Jesus answered and said to her, "Whoever drinks of this water shall thirst again: ¹⁴ But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."

²⁴ Until now you have asked nothing in My name: Ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.

¹⁴ These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brethren.

¹ And when the Day of Pentecost fully came, they were all with one accord in one place. ² And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. ³ Then there appeared to them cloven tongues like as of fire, and they settled upon each of them. ⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

¹ And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come." And let him that hears say, "Come." And let him that is thirsty come. And whoever is willing, let him take the water of life freely.

¹⁰ And the LORD said to Moses, "Bring Aaron's rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and you shall quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not.

⁸ And they said to him, "We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it." And Joseph said to them, "Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me them, I implore you."

¹⁶ And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, "It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace."

²² Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? Or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them? ²³ And the LORD said to Moses, "Is the LORD's hand waxed short? You shall see now whether my word shall come to pass to you or not.

²⁴ You have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you.

³² They also angered Him at the waters of strife, so that it went badly with Moses for their sakes: ³³ Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spoke unadvisedly with his lips.

²⁸ but there is a God in heaven that reveals secrets, and makes known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, are these; ²⁹ as for you, O king, your thoughts came into your mind upon your bed, what should come to pass hereafter: And He that reveals secrets makes known to you what shall come to pass. ³⁰ But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than anyone living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that you might know the thoughts of your heart.

²² But I say to you, That whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: And whoever shall say to his brother, 'You vain fellow' shall be in danger of the council: But whoever says, 'You fool', shall be in danger of hell fire.

⁵⁴ And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, would you like that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elijah did?" ⁵⁵ But He turned and rebuked them, and said, "You do not know what manner of spirit you are of.

¹² Now when Peter saw it, he answered to the people, "You men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? ⁹ The same heard Paul speak: Who steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, ¹⁰ said with a loud voice, "Stand upright on your feet." And he leaped and walked. ¹¹ Now when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, "The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men." ¹² And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker. ¹³ Then the priest of Jupiter, who was in front of their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people. ¹⁴ Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard this, they tore their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, ¹⁵ and saying, "Sirs, why do you do these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach to you that you should turn from these vanities to the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them:

³ Then Paul said to him, "God shall smite you, you whitened wall: For you sit to judge me according to the law, and do you command me to be beaten contrary to the law?" ⁴ And those who stood by said, "Do you revile God's high priest?" ⁵ Then Paul said, "I was not aware, brethren, that he was the high priest: For it is written, 'You shall not speak evil of the ruler of your people.' "

¹⁷ Therefore, I have that of which I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God. ¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not worked by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, ¹⁹ Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and fully around to Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

⁷ So then neither he that plants is anything, nor he that waters; but God that gives the increase.

²⁶ "Be angry, and do not sin": Do not let the sun go down upon your wrath:

² For in many things we offend everyone. If any man does not offend in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

⁶ Behold, I will stand before you there upon the rock in Horeb; and you shall smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink." And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

¹ And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire in it, and put incense on it, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.

⁸ take the rod, and gather you the assembly together, you, and Aaron your brother, and speak you to the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and you shall bring forth to them water out of the rock: So you shall give the congregation and their beasts drink.

¹³ And Samuel came to Saul: And Saul said to him, "Blessed be you of the LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD." ¹⁴ And Samuel said, "What then does this bleating of the sheep in my ears mean, and the bellowing of the oxen which I hear?"

¹⁹ Why then did you not obey the voice of the LORD, but did fly upon the spoil, and did evil in the sight of the LORD?"

²⁴ And Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned: For I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and your words: Because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

²¹ And he cried out to the man of God that came from Judah, saying, "Thus says the LORD, For as much as you have disobeyed the mouth of the LORD, and have not kept the commandment which the LORD your God commanded you, ²² but came back, and have eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which the Lord did say to you, Eat no bread, and drink no water; your carcass shall not come to the sepulcher of your fathers. ²³ And it came to pass, after he had eaten bread, and after he had drunk, that he saddled for him the donkey, to wit, for the prophet whom he had brought back. ²⁴ And when he was gone, a lion met him by the way, and slew him: And his carcass was cast in the way, and the donkey stood by it, the lion also stood by the carcass.

⁹ And when they came to the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled. ¹⁰ And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: And there he died before God.

² Then David said, "None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: For them has the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister to him forever.

¹³ For because you did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach on us, for that we sought him not after the due order.

¹⁶ He also brought streams out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.

⁵ I knew you in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.

²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you: And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world." Amen.

⁴ and all drank the same spiritual drink: For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: And that Rock was Christ.

²⁰ For the wrath of man does not work the righteousness of God.

³ Then Moses said to Aaron, "This is it that the LORD spoke, saying, "I will be sanctified in them that come near me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

¹⁵ And if you deal thus with me, kill me, I implore you, out of hand, if I have found favor in your sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.

²¹ And Moses said, "The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and you have said, "I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month. ²² Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? Or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?

²⁴ aaron shall be gathered to his people: For he shall not enter into the land which I have given to the children of Israel, because you rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.

³⁷ Also the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, saying, "You also shall not go in thither.

²³ And I sought the LORD at that time, saying, ²⁴ O Lord GOD, you have begun to show your servant your greatness, and your mighty hand: For what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to your works, and according to your might? ²⁵ I implore you, let me go over, and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon. ²⁶ But the LORD was wroth with me for your sakes, and would not hear me: And the LORD said to me, Let it suffice you; speak no more to me of this matter. ²⁷ Get you up into the top of Pisgah, and lift up your eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with your eyes: For you shall not go over this Jordan.

⁴⁹ get you up into this mountain Abarim, to Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is in front of Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel for a possession: ⁵⁰ And die in the mount where you go up, and be gathered to your people; as Aaron your brother died in Mount Hor, and was gathered to his people: ⁵¹ Because you trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of MeribahKadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because you sanctified me not in the middle of the children of Israel.

⁴ And the LORD said to him, "This is the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, "I will give it to your seed: I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over thither.

² moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you, and all this people, to the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

²⁰ And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: And as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Hear me, O Judah, an d all you inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall you be established; believe his prophets, so shall you prosper.

⁹ And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If you will not believe, surely you shall not be established."

¹³ Sanctify the LORD of hosts Himself; and let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread.

⁴¹ I will accept you with your sweet smell, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries in which you have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen.

²³ And I will sanctify My great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which you have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD", said the Lord GOD, "when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

¹⁰ Thus says the Lord GOD; "It shall also come to pass, that at the same time things shall come into your mind, and you shall think an evil thought:

¹⁷ Then Jesus answered and said, "O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I endure you? Bring him here to Me."

²⁰ And Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief: For truly I say to you, If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, 'Remove from here to yonder place'; and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible to you.

²⁰ Yet behold, you shall be mute, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because you did not believe my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season."

⁴⁵ And blessed is she who believed: For there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord."

¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

²⁰ He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

¹⁵ But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: And always be ready to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason for the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

⁷ And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, "Is the LORD among us, or not?"

⁸ And of Levi he said, "Let your Thummim and your Urim be with your holy one, whom you did prove at Massah, and with whom you did strive at the waters of Meribah;

⁸ "Do not harden your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

³² They also angered Him at the waters of strife, so that it went badly with Moses for their sakes: ³³ Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spoke unadvisedly with his lips. ³⁴ They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them: ³⁵ But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works. ³⁶ And they served their idols; which were a snare to them. ³⁷ Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to devils, ³⁸ and shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan: And the land was polluted with blood. ³⁹ Thus they were defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions. ⁴⁰ Therefore the wrath of the LORD was kindled against His people, so that He abhorred His own inheritance. ⁴¹ And He gave them into the hand of the heathen; and those who hated them ruled over them. ⁴² Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand. ⁴³ Many times He delivered them; but they provoked Him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity. ⁴⁴ Nevertheless, He regarded their affliction, when He heard their cry: ⁴⁵ And He remembered His covenant for them, and repented according to the multitude of His mercies. ⁴⁶ He made them also to be pitied by all those who carried them captives. ⁴⁷ Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks to Your holy name, and to triumph in Your praise. ⁴⁸ Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: And let all the people say, "Amen." Praise the LORD.

¹⁶ But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God who is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.

¹⁶ And you shall come up against My people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring you back against My land, that the heathen may know Me, when I shall be sanctified in you, O Gog, before their eyes."

³ And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother in the land of Seir, the country of Edom. ⁴ And he commanded them, saying, "Thus shall you speak to my lord Esau; 'Your servant Jacob says thus, "I have sojourned with Laban, and stayed there until now:

³¹ And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel. ³² And Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom: And the name of his city was Dinhabah. ³³ And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead. ³⁴ And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of Temani reigned in his stead. ³⁵ And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: And the name of his city was Avith. ³⁶ And Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead. ³⁷ And Samlah died, and Saul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead. ³⁸ And Saul died, and Baalhanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead. ³⁹ And Baalhanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his stead: And the name of his city was Pau; and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

⁸ And Moses told his father-in-law all that the LORD had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them.

⁴ And command you the people, saying, "You are to pass through the border of your brothers the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: Take you good heed to yourselves therefore: ⁵ Meddle not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot breadth; because I have given Mount Seir to Esau for a possession. ⁶ You shall buy meat of them for money, that you may eat; and you shall also buy water of them for money, that you may drink. ⁷ For the LORD your God has blessed you in all the works of your hand: He knows your walking through this great wilderness: These forty years the LORD your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing. ⁸ And when we passed by from our brothers the children of Esau, which dwelled in Seir, through the way of the plain from Elath, and from Eziongaber, we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab. ⁹ And the LORD said to me, Distress not the Moabites, neither contend with them in battle: For I will not give you of their land for a possession; because I have given Ar to the children of Lot for a possession. ¹⁰ The Emims dwelled in it in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; ¹¹ which also were accounted giants, as the Anakims; but the Moabites called them Emims. ¹² The Horims also dwelled in Seir beforetime; but the children of Esau succeeded them, when they had destroyed them from before them, and dwelled in their stead; as Israel did to the land of his possession, which the LORD gave to them. ¹³ Now rise up, said I, and get you over the brook Zered. And we went over the brook Zered. ¹⁴ And the space in which we came from Kadeshbarnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the LORD swore to them. ¹⁵ For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed. ¹⁶ So it came to pass, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people, ¹⁷ that the LORD spoke to me, saying, ¹⁸ you are to pass over through Ar, the border of Moab, this day: ¹⁹ And when you come near in front of the children of Ammon, distress them not, nor meddle with them: For I will not give you of the land of the children of Ammon any possession; because I have given it to the children of Lot for a possession. ²⁰ (That also was accounted a land of giants: Giants dwelled in it in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims; ²¹ A people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but the LORD destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelled in their stead: ²² As he did to the children of Esau, which dwelled in Seir, when he destroyed the Horims from before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelled in their stead even to this day: ²³ And the Avims which dwelled in Hazerim, even to Azzah, the Caphtorims, which came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelled in their stead). ²⁴ Rise you up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: Behold, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: Begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle. ²⁵ This day will I begin to put the dread of you and the fear of you on the nations that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear report of you, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of you.

⁷ You shall not abhor an Edomite; for he is your brother: You shall not abhor an Egyptian; because you were a stranger in his land.

⁹ And they said to him, "From a very far country your servants are come because of the name of the LORD your God: For we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt,

¹⁶ But when Israel came up from Egypt, and walked through the wilderness to the Red sea, and came to Kadesh; ¹⁷ then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, "Let me, I implore you, pass through your land: But the king of Edom would not listen thereto. And in like manner they sent to the king of Moab: But he would not consent: And Israel stayed in Kadesh.

¹⁰ Shame shall cover you for your violence against your brother Jacob, and you shall be cut off forever. ¹¹ In the day that you stood on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried his forces away captive, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even you were as one of them. ¹² But you should not have looked on the day of your brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither should you have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither should you have spoken proudly in the day of distress.spoken proudly: In Hebrew, magnified your mouth

² "I have loved you", says the LORD. "Yet you all say, 'In what have You loved us?' Was not Esau Jacob's brother?" says the LORD: "Yet I loved Jacob,

¹³ And He said to Abram, "Know for sure that your seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not their's, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;

⁶ And they took their domestic beasts, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:

¹¹ Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses. ¹² But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel. ¹³ And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigor: ¹⁴ And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in mortar, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: All their service, in which they made them serve, was with rigor.

¹⁶ And he said, "When you do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it is a son, then you shall kill him: But if it is a daughter, then she shall live."

²² And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, "Every son that is born you shall cast into the river, and every daughter you shall save alive."

¹⁴ And the officers of the children of Israel, which Pharaoh's taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, and demanded, "Why have you not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and today, as you did before?"

⁴⁰ Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelled in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.

¹³ Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land that flows with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, except you make yourself altogether a prince over us?

⁶ And the Egyptians evil entreated us, and afflicted us, and laid on us hard bondage:

¹⁵ So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers,

¹⁹ This one dealt cunningly with our kindred, and evilly treated our fathers, so that they threw out their young children, with the intent they might not live.

²³ And it came to pass in the process of time, that the king of Egypt died: And the children of Israel sighed because of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up to God because of the bondage. ²⁴ And God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

² And the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the middle of a bush: And he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. ³ And Moses said, "I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt." ⁴ And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the middle of the bush, and said, "Moses, Moses." And he said, "Here I am." ⁵ And he said, "Do not draw near here: Put off your shoes from your feet, for the place on which you stand is holy ground." ⁶ Moreover he said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. ⁷ And the LORD said, "I have surely seen the affliction of My people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; ⁸ and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and a large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey; to the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. ⁹ Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me: And I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.

⁵ And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered My covenant.

¹⁰ And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were severely afraid: And the children of Israel cried out to the LORD.

¹⁹ And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:

²⁰ Behold, I send an Angel before you, to keep you in the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.

² And I will send an angel before you; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite:

¹ And when king Arad the Canaanite, which dwelled in the south, heard tell that Israel came by the way of the spies; then he fought against Israel, and took some of them prisoners.

²² let me pass through your land: We will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: But we will go along by the king's high way, until we be past your borders. ²³ And Sihon would not suffer Israel to pass through his border: But Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness: And he came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel. ²⁴ And Israel smote him with the edge of the sword, and possessed his land from Arnon to Jabbok, even to the children of Ammon: For the border of the children of Ammon was strong.

¹ Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as the LORD spoke to me: And we compassed Mount Seir many days. ² And the LORD spoke to me, saying, ³ you have compassed this mountain long enough: Turn northward. ⁴ And command you the people, saying, "You are to pass through the border of your brothers the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: Take you good heed to yourselves therefore:

²⁷ let me pass through your land: I will go along by the high way, I will neither turn to the right hand nor to the left.

²⁹ (As the children of Esau which dwell in Seir, and the Moabites which dwell in Ar, did to me); until I shall pass over the Jordan into the land which the LORD our God gives us.

³⁸ And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much domestic beasts.

⁶ You shall buy meat of them for money, that you may eat; and you shall also buy water of them for money, that you may drink.

²⁸ You shall sell me meat for money, that I may eat; and give me water for money, that I may drink: Only I will pass through on my feet;

⁴¹ And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him: And Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will slay my brother Jacob.

⁶ And the messengers returned to Jacob, saying, "We came to your brother Esau, and also he comes to meet you, and four hundred men with him."

¹⁸ And Edom said to him, "You shall not pass by me, lest I come out against you with the sword.

¹⁷ then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, "Let me, I implore you, pass through your land: But the king of Edom would not listen thereto. And in like manner they sent to the king of Moab: But he would not consent: And Israel stayed in Kadesh.

²⁰ But Sihon trusted not Israel to pass through his coast: But Sihon gathered all his people together, and pitched in Jahaz, and fought against Israel.

⁷ I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war.

⁵ Because you have had a perpetual hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end: ⁶ Therefore, as I live", said the Lord GOD, "I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you: Since you have not hated blood, even blood shall pursue you. ⁷ Thus I will make Mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it he who passes out and he who returns. ⁸ And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: In your hills, and in your valleys, and in all your rivers, those who are slain with the sword shall fall. ⁹ I will make you perpetual desolations, and your cities shall not return: And you shall know that I am the LORD. ¹⁰ Because you have said, 'These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it'; although the LORD was there: ¹¹ Therefore, as I live", said the Lord GOD, "I will even do according to your anger, and according to your envy which you have used against them out of your hatred; and I will make Myself known among them, when I have judged you.

¹¹ Thus says the LORD; "For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because he pursued his brother with the sword, and laid aside all pity, and his anger tore in pieces perpetually, and he kept his wrath forever:

¹⁸ Then they went along through the wilderness, and compassed the land of Edom, and the land of Moab, and came by the east side of the land of Moab, and pitched on the other side of Arnon, but came not within the border of Moab: For Arnon was the border of Moab.

²⁴ Will not you possess that which Chemosh your god gives you to possess? So whomever the LORD our God shall drive out from before us, them will we possess.

²⁶ And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word to them, and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.

¹ Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: And the people stayed in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.

¹⁴ And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom, Thus said your brother Israel, You know all the travail that has befallen us:

⁴ And they journeyed from Mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: And the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.

³⁶ And they removed from Eziongaber, and pitched in the wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh. ³⁷ And they removed from Kadesh, and pitched in Mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom. ³⁸ And Aaron the priest went up into Mount Hor at the commandment of the LORD, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, on the first day of the fifth month.

⁷ And this shall be your north border: From the great sea you shall point out for you Mount Hor:

¹⁹ And the south side southward, from Tamar even to the waters of strife in Kadesh, the river to the great sea. And this is the south side southward.

²⁸ And by the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border shall be even from Tamar to the waters of strife in Kadesh, and to the river toward the great sea.

³⁷ And they removed from Kadesh, and pitched in Mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.

¹⁵ And you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried at a good old age.

⁸ Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.

¹⁷ And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, a hundred and thirty-seven years: And he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered to his people.

²⁹ And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered to his people, being old and full of days: And his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.

²⁹ And he charged them, and said to them, "I am to be gathered to my people: Bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,

³³ And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered to his people.

²⁷ At the appointment of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burdens, and in all their service: And you shall appoint to them in charge all their burdens.

¹⁰ And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said to them, "Hear now, you rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? ¹¹ And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: And the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. ¹² And the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, Because you believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

¹³ And when you have seen it, you also shall be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother was gathered.

² avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: Afterward shall you be gathered to your people.

⁵⁰ And die in the mount where you go up, and be gathered to your people; as Aaron your brother died in Mount Hor, and was gathered to his people:

¹⁰ And also all that generation were gathered to their fathers: And there arose another generation after them, which did not know the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.

²⁸ Behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, neither shall your eyes see all the evil that I will bring on this place, and on the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again.

³⁸ And Aaron the priest went up into Mount Hor at the commandment of the LORD, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, on the first day of the fifth month. ³⁹ And Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died in Mount Hor.

²⁹ And the holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons' after him, to be anointed in them, and to be consecrated in them. ³⁰ And he of his sons that is priest in his stead shall put them on seven days, when he comes into the tabernacle of the congregation to minister in the holy place.

²¹ And I will clothe him with your robe, and strengthen him with your girdle, and I will commit your government into his hand: And he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. ²² And I will lay the key of the house of David on his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

¹¹ Therefore, if perfection were by the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchizedek. and not be called according to the order of Aaron?

²³ And truly they were many priests, because they were not forbid to continue by reason of death: ²⁴ But this Man, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood.

²⁶ And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them on Eleazar his son: And Aaron shall be gathered to his people, and shall die there.

¹⁶ let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation, ¹⁷ which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD be not as sheep which have no shepherd. ¹⁸ And the LORD said to Moses, "Take you Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay your hand upon him; ¹⁹ and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight. ²⁰ And you shall put some of your honor on him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient. ²¹ And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of Urim before the LORD: At his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation. ²² And Moses did as the LORD commanded him: And he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation: ²³ And he laid his hands on him, and gave him a charge, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.

³⁸ And Aaron the priest went up into Mount Hor at the commandment of the LORD, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, on the first day of the fifth month. ³⁹ And Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died in Mount Hor. ⁴⁰ And king Arad the Canaanite, which dwelled in the south in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel. ⁴¹ And they departed from Mount Hor, and pitched in Zalmonah. ⁴² And they departed from Zalmonah, and pitched in Punon. ⁴³ And they departed from Punon, and pitched in Oboth. ⁴⁴ And they departed from Oboth, and pitched in Ijeabarim, in the border of Moab. ⁴⁵ And they departed from Iim, and pitched in Dibongad. ⁴⁶ And they removed from Dibongad, and encamped in Almondiblathaim. ⁴⁷ And they removed from Almondiblathaim, and pitched in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo. ⁴⁸ And they departed from the mountains of Abarim, and pitched in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho. ⁴⁹ And they pitched by Jordan, from Bethjesimoth even to Abelshittim in the plains of Moab.

⁶ And the children of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Mosera: There Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest's office in his stead.

⁷ And Moses called to Joshua, and said to him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: For you must go with this people to the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them; and you shall cause them to inherit it. ⁸ And the LORD, he it is that does go before you; he will be with you, he will not fail you, neither forsake you: Fear not, neither be dismayed.

⁴⁹ get you up into this mountain Abarim, to Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is in front of Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel for a possession: ⁵⁰ And die in the mount where you go up, and be gathered to your people; as Aaron your brother died in Mount Hor, and was gathered to his people:

⁵ So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD.

⁹ And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands on him: And the children of Israel listened to him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.

¹¹ Now, my son, the LORD be with you; and prosper you, and build the house of the LORD your God, as he has said of you. ¹² Only the LORD give you wisdom and understanding, and give you charge concerning Israel, that you may keep the law of the LORD your God.

¹⁷ David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,

⁵ And of all my sons, (for the LORD has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel. ⁶ And he said to me, 'Solomon your son, he shall build my house and my courts: For I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. ⁷ Moreover I will establish his kingdom forever, if he be constant to do My commandments and my judgments, as at this day. ⁸ Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God: That you may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you forever. ⁹ And you, Solomon my son, know you the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: For the LORD searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts: If you seek him, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.

²⁵ "And now behold, I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no longer. ²⁶ Therefore I testify for the record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. ²⁷ For I have not shunned to declare to you all the counsel of God. ²⁸ Therefore take heed to yourselves, and to all the flock, among whom the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which He has purchased with His own blood. ²⁹ For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

²⁴ But this Man, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. ²⁵ Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those that come to God by Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

¹⁵ Moreover, I will endeavor that after my decease you may be able to have these things always in remembrance.

¹⁰ And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas: And God saw that it was good.

⁸ And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: So the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.

²⁴ His servants therefore took him out of that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the sepulchers of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah. ²⁵ And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: And all the singing men and the singing women spoke of Josiah in their lamentations to this day, and made them an ordinance in Israel: And behold, they are written in the lamentations.

² And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.
