¹ After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two and two before His face into every city and place, where He Himself was about to go. ² For this reason He said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers into His harvest. ³ Go your ways: Behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. ⁴ Carry neither money bag, nor satchel, nor shoes: And salute no man by the road. ⁵ And whatever house you enter into, first say, 'Peace be to this house.' ⁶ And if the son of peace is there, your peace shall rest upon it: If not, it shall return to you again. ⁷ And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give: For the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house. ⁸ And whatever city you enter into, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: ⁹ And heal the sick that are there, and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.' ¹⁰ But whatever city you enter into, and they do not receive you, go your way out into the streets of the same, and say, ¹¹ 'Even the very dust of your city, which sticks on us, we wipe off against you: Nevertheless be sure of this, that the kingdom of God has come near to you.' ¹² But I say to you, That it shall be more tolerable in that Day for Sodom, than for that city. ¹³ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which have been done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented a long while ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. ¹⁴ But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you. ¹⁵ And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, shall be thrust down to hell. ¹⁶ He who hears you hears Me; he who despises you despises Me; and he who despises Me despises Him that sent Me." ¹⁷ And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, "Lord, even the devils are subject to us through Your name." ¹⁸ And He said to them, "I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. ¹⁹ Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: And nothing shall by any means hurt you. ²⁰ Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven." ²¹ In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, "I thank You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them to babes: Even so, Father; for so it seemed good in Your sight." ²² "All things are delivered to Me from My Father: And no man knows who the Son is, except the Father; and who the Father is, except the Son, and the one to whom the Son will reveal Him." ²³ Then He turned to His disciples and said privately, "Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see: ²⁴ For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which you see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which you hear, and have not heard them." ²⁵ And behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted Him, saying, "Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" ²⁶ He said to him, "What is written in the law? How do you read it?" ²⁷ And he answering said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself." ²⁸ And He said to him, "You have answered right: Do this, and you shall live." ²⁹ But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" ³⁰ And Jesus answering said, "A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. ³¹ Now by chance a certain priest came down that road: And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. ³² And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked upon him, and passed by on the other side. ³³ But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: And when he saw him, he had compassion on him, ³⁴ and went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. ³⁵ And on the next day when he departed, he took out two silver coins, gave them to the host, and said to him, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.' ³⁶ Therefore which of these three do you think was a neighbor to him that fell among the thieves?" ³⁷ And he said, "He that showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go, and you do likewise." ³⁸ Now it came to pass, as they went, that He entered into a certain village: And a certain woman named Martha received Him into her house. ³⁹ And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard His word. ⁴⁰ But Martha was encumbered with much serving, and came to Him, and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Bid her therefore, so that she will help me." ⁴¹ And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are careful and troubled about many things: ⁴² But one thing is necessary: And Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."

¹⁶ And the LORD said to Moses, "Gather to me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them to the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with you.

²⁴ And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them all around the tabernacle. ²⁵ And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the spirit that was on him, and gave it to the seventy elders: And it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested on them, they prophesied, and did not cease. ²⁶ But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: And the spirit rested on them; and they were of those that were written, but went not out to the tabernacle: And they prophesied in the camp.

¹ And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. ² Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; ³ Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; ⁴ Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.

⁷ And He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them forth two by two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; ⁸ And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, except only a staff; no bag, no bread, no money in their money pouch: ⁹ But be shod with sandals; and do not put on two coats. ¹⁰ And He said to them, "In whatever place where you enter into a house, abide there until you depart from that place. ¹¹ And whoever does not receive you, nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Truly I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city." ¹² Then they went out, and preached that people should repent. ¹³ And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.

¹⁷ For He shall go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, 'to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children', and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."

⁷⁶ And you, child, shall be called the prophet of the Highest: For you shall go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways;

⁴ as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: The voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight. ⁵ Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked place will be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; ⁶ and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.' "

¹³ And when the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her, and said to her, "Do not weep."

¹ Then He called His twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. ² And He sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

⁵² and sent messengers before His face: And they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for Him.

² As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, "Separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." ³ Then, when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. ⁴ So then, being sent forth by the Holy Spirit, they departed to Seleucia; and from there they sailed to Cyprus.

³ And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth." ⁴ These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. ⁵ And if any man will hurt them, fire proceeds out of their mouth, and devours their enemies: And if any man will hurt them, he must be killed in this manner. ⁶ These have power to shut heaven, that it does not rain in the days of their prophecy: And have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. ⁷ And when they have finished their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. ⁸ And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. ⁹ And those of the people, tribes, tongues, and nations shall see their dead bodies three and a half days, and shall not let their dead bodies to be put in graves. ¹⁰ And those that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts to one another; because these two prophets tormented those that dwelt on the earth.

¹⁷ And I will come down and talk with you there: And I will take of the spirit which is on you, and will put it on them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you bear it not yourself alone.

²⁹ And Moses said to him, "Envy you for my sake? Would God that all the LORD's people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit on them!

²² Then said Elijah to the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.

⁶ Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, "Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, "Go up; for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king. ⁷ And Jehoshaphat said, "Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might inquire of him? ⁸ And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may inquire of the LORD: But I hate him; for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, "Let not the king say so.

¹¹ The Lord gave the word: Great was the company of those that published it.

⁹ All you wild beasts of the field, come to devour, yes, all you beasts in the forest. ¹⁰ His watchmen are blind: They are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. ¹¹ Yes, they are greedy dogs who can never have enough, and they are shepherds who cannot understand: They all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. ¹² "Come all of you", they say, "I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow shall be like today, and much more abundant."

¹⁵ And I will give you pastors according to My heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

² "Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD to the shepherds; "Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks? ³ You eat the fat, and you clothe yourselves with the wool, you kill those who are fed: But you do not feed the flock. ⁴ You have not strengthened the diseased, neither have you healed those who were sick, neither have you bound up those who were broken, neither have you brought back those who were driven away, neither have you sought those who were lost; but with force and with cruelty you have ruled them. ⁵ And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: And they became meat to all the wild beasts of the field, when they were scattered. ⁶ My sheep wandered all through the mountains, and on every high hill: Yes, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and no one searched or sought after them."

⁵ whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: And those that sell them say, 'Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich': And their own shepherds do not pity them.

¹⁷ Woe to the idol shepherd that leaves the flock! The sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: His arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened."

³⁶ But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they fainted, and were scattered widely, as sheep having no shepherd. ³⁷ And He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few: ³⁸ Therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest."

¹ "For the kingdom of heaven is likened to a man who is a householder, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers into his vineyard.

³⁴ For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

¹⁵ And He said to them, "Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

²⁰ And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

¹ Then He called His twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

³⁵ Do you not say, 'There are still four months, and then comes harvest'? Behold, I say to you, Lift up your eyes, and look upon the fields; for they are white already to harvest. ³⁶ And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit to life eternal: That both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. ³⁷ Indeed this saying is true, 'One sows, and another reaps.' ³⁸ I sent you to reap that which you have not bestowed any labor: Other men labored, and you have entered into their labors."

⁴ Therefore those that were scattered abroad went everywhere preaching the word.

¹⁹ Now those that were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but to the Jews only.

² As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, "Separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them."

⁴ So then, being sent forth by the Holy Spirit, they departed to Seleucia; and from there they sailed to Cyprus.

⁹ And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; there stood a man of Macedonia, and he implored him, saying, "Come over into Macedonia, and help us." ¹⁰ Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavored to go into Macedonia, assuredly trusting that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.

²⁸ Therefore take heed to yourselves, and to all the flock, among whom the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which He has purchased with His own blood.

²¹ Then He said to me, 'Depart: For I will send you far from this place to the Gentiles.' "

¹⁵ And I said, 'Who are You, Lord?' And He said, 'I am Jesus whom you persecute. ¹⁶ But rise, and stand upon your feet: For I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen, and of those things which I will show to you; ¹⁷ delivering you from the people, and from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, ¹⁸ to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith that is in Me.'

⁶ I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. ⁷ So then neither he that plants is anything, nor he that waters; but God that gives the increase. ⁸ Now he that plants and he that waters are one: And every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor. ⁹ For we are laborers together with God: You are God's tillage, you are God's building.

²⁸ And God has set some in the church, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

¹⁰ But by the grace of God I am what I am: And His grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: Yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

¹ We then, as workers together with Him, beseech you also that you do not receive the grace of God in vain.

⁷ But grace is given to every one of us according to the measure of the gift of Christ. ⁸ Therefore He says: "When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men." ⁹ (Now that "He ascended", what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He that descended is also the same that ascended up far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.) ¹¹ And He gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers; ¹² for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

²¹ For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.

²⁵ Yet I supposed it was necessary to send Epaphroditus to you, my brother, and companion in labor, and fellow-soldier, now your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.

³⁰ Because for the work of Christ he came near to death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.

²⁹ For this purpose I also labor, striving according to His working, which works in me mightily.

¹² Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, salutes you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

⁹ For you remember, brethren, our labor and travail: For laboring night and day, because we would not impose upon any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.

¹² And we beseech you, brethren, to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

¹ Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free run, and be glorified, even as it is with you:

¹² And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has enabled me, for He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; ¹³ who was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an injurious man: But I obtained mercy, because I did those things ignorantly in unbelief. ¹⁴ And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.

¹⁰ For therefore we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those that believe.

¹⁵ Meditate upon these things; give yourself wholly to them; that your profiting may appear to all. ¹⁶ Take heed to yourself, and to the doctrine; continue in them: For in doing this you shall save both yourself, and those that hear you.

¹⁷ Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine. ¹⁸ For the scripture says, "You shall not muzzle the ox that treads out the grain kernels"; and, "The laborer is worthy of his reward."

³ You therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. ⁴ No man that wars entangles himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who has chosen him to be a soldier. ⁵ And if a man also strives for masteries, he is not crowned unless he strives lawfully. ⁶ The farmer that labors must be first to partake of the fruits.

⁵ But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of your ministry.

¹ Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellow-laborer,

⁶ but Christ as a Son over His own house; whose house we are, if we hold firm the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope steadfast to the end.

¹ To the angel of the church of Ephesus write; 'These things says He that holds the seven stars in His right hand, Who walks in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

² But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it; for it is given to the Gentiles: And they shall tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months. ³ And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."

¹² Many bulls have compassed Me: Strong bulls of Bashan have beset Me around. ¹³ They gaped upon Me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion. ¹⁴ I am poured out like water, and all My bones are out of joint: My heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of My bowels. ¹⁵ My strength is dried up like a broken clay pot fragment; and My tongue sticks to My jaws; and you have brought Me into the dust of death. ¹⁶ For dogs have compassed around Me: The assembly of the wicked have enclosed Me: They pierced My hands and My feet.

²¹ Save Me from the lion's mouth: For You have heard Me from the horns of the unicorns.

³ And He said to me, "Son of man, I send you to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against Me: They and their fathers have transgressed against Me, even to this very day. ⁴ For they are impudent children and stiff hearted. I do send you to them; and you shall say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD.' ⁵ And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house), Yet they shall know that there has been a prophet among them. ⁶ And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you, and you dwell among scorpions: Do not be afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.

³ Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they do not gnaw the bones until the next day.

¹⁵ Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

²² And you shall be hated by all people for My name's sake: But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

¹² But he who is a hireling, and not the shepherd, of whom the sheep are not his own, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and flees: And the wolf catches them, and scatters the sheep.

²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you, 'The servant is not greater than his lord.' If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept My sayings, they will keep yours also.

² They shall put you out of the synagogues: Yes, the time is coming, that whoever kills you will think that he does service to God.

² and desired from him letters to the synagogues of Damascus, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

¹⁶ For I will show him what great things he must suffer for My name's sake."

²⁹ For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

³³ And there was set food before him to eat: But he said, "I will not eat, until I have told my errand." And he said, "Speak on."

⁵⁶ And he said to them, "Do not hinder me, seeing the LORD has prospered my way; send me away that I may go to my master."

⁸ And David said to Ahimelech, "And is there not here on hand spear or sword? For I have brought neither my sword nor my weapons with me, because the king's business required haste."

²⁴ Then she saddled a donkey, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not your riding for me, except I bid you.

²⁹ Then he said to Gehazi, "Gird up your loins, and take my staff in your hand, and go your way: If you meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute you, answer him not again: And lay my staff on the face of the child.

²⁵ Let your eyes look right on, and let your eyelids look straight before you.

⁹ Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your money pouch, ¹⁰ nor bag for your journey, nor two coats, neither shoes, nor even walking staffs: For the workman is worthy of his food. ¹¹ Also, whatever city or town you enter into, inquire who in it is worthy, and there abide until you depart out of it. ¹² And when you come into a house, salute it. ¹³ And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it: But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. ¹⁴ And whoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when you depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.

⁵⁹ Moreover He said to another, "Follow Me." But he said, "Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father." ⁶⁰ Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their dead: But you go and preach the kingdom of God."

³⁵ And He said to them, "When I sent you without money bag, satchel, and shoes, did you lack anything?" And they said, "Nothing."

⁶ And you shall say thus to him that lives in prosperity, 'Peace be both to you, and peace be to your house, and peace be to all that you have.

¹⁹ "I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him who is far off, and to him who is near", said the LORD; "and I will heal him."

¹² And when you come into a house, salute it. ¹³ And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it: But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.

⁹ And Jesus said to him, "This day salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.

³⁶ The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (He is Lord of all):

¹⁸ Now all things are from God, who has reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation; ¹⁹ Know that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them; and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. ²⁰ Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God implored you through us: We make request of you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.

¹⁷ And came and preached peace to you who were afar off, and to those that were near.

¹⁷ Now therefore know and consider what you will do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his household: For he is such a son of Belial, that a man cannot speak to him."

¹³ But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into my own bosom.

⁶ For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given: And the government shall be upon His shoulder: And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

¹⁵ For we are to God a sweet savor of Christ, in those that are saved, and in those that perish: ¹⁶ To the one we are the savour of death leading to death; and to the other the savor of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things?

² in which you walked in time past according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience: ³ Among whom we all also had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

⁶ Let no man deceive you with vain words: For because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the children of disobedience.

¹⁶ Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

¹⁸ And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those that make peace.

¹⁴ as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

¹² And you shall rejoice before the LORD your God, you, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your gates; for as much as he has no part nor inheritance with you.

¹⁸ But you must eat them before the LORD your God in the place which the LORD your God shall choose, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite that is within your gates: And you shall rejoice before the LORD your God in all that you put your hands to. ¹⁹ Take heed to yourself that you forsake not the Levite as long as you live on the earth.

¹⁰ nor bag for your journey, nor two coats, neither shoes, nor even walking staffs: For the workman is worthy of his food. ¹¹ Also, whatever city or town you enter into, inquire who in it is worthy, and there abide until you depart out of it.

¹⁰ And He said to them, "In whatever place where you enter into a house, abide there until you depart from that place.

⁴ And whatever house you enter into, there abide, and from there depart.

¹⁵ And when she was baptized, and her household, she implored us, saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there." Therefore she compelled us.

³⁴ Then when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

⁴⁰ And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: And when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.

⁴ Do we not have power to eat and to drink? ⁵ Do we not have power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas? ⁶ Or is it only I and Barnabas that do not have power to abstain from working? ⁷ Who ever goes to war at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard, and does not eat of its fruit? Or who feeds a flock, and does not eat of the milk of the flock? ⁸ Do I say these things as from a man? Or does not the law say the same also? ⁹ For it is written in the law of Moses, "You shall not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treads out the grain kernels." Does God take care in favor of oxen? ¹⁰ Or does He say it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: That he that plows should plow in hope; and he that threshes in hope should be a partaker of his hope. ¹¹ If we have sown to you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? ¹² If others are partakers of this power over you, are not we for better reason? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we hinder the gospel of Christ. ¹³ Do you not know that those who minister around holy things live from the things of the temple? And those who wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? ¹⁴ Even so the Lord has ordained that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel. ¹⁵ But I have used none of these things: Neither have I written these things, that it should be done to me: For it would be better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.

⁶ Let him that is taught in the word communicate to him that teaches in all good things.

¹⁷ Not because I desire a gift: But I desire fruit that may abound to your account. ¹⁸ But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, a sweet smelling savor, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God.

¹³ And together they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but also tattlers and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

⁶ The farmer that labors must be first to partake of the fruits.

⁵ Beloved, you do faithfully all that you do for the brethren, and for strangers; ⁶ who have borne witness of your love before the church: Whom if you accompany on their journey in a Godly way, you shall do well: ⁷ Because for His name's sake they went forth, taking nothing from the Gentiles. ⁸ We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellow-helpers to the truth.

⁴⁰ He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.

⁴⁸ and said to them, "Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me: And whoever receives Me receives Him that sent Me: For he that is least among you all, the same shall be great."

¹⁰ But whatever city you enter into, and they do not receive you, go your way out into the streets of the same, and say,

²⁰ Truly, truly, I say to you, He that receives whomever I send receives Me; and he that receives Me receives Him that sent Me."

²⁷ If any of those that do not believe invite you to a feast, and you are disposed to go; eat whatever is set before you, asking no question for conscience sake.

⁴⁴ And in the days of these kings the God of heaven shall set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: And the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

² and saying, "Repent: For the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

¹⁷ From that time on Jesus began to preach, and to say, "Repent: For the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

⁷ And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' ⁸ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: Freely you have received, freely give.

³⁰ And He said, "To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what comparison shall we compare it?

¹³ And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.

² And He sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

¹¹ 'Even the very dust of your city, which sticks on us, we wipe off against you: Nevertheless be sure of this, that the kingdom of God has come near to you.'

²⁰ Also when the Pharisees demanded of Him, when the kingdom of God should come, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God does not come with observation: ²¹ Neither shall they say, 'Look here!' or 'Look there!' For behold, the kingdom of God is within you."

³ Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

⁵ Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless a man is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

⁷ In the same quarters there were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and courteously lodged us three days. ⁸ And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: To whom Paul went in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him. ⁹ So when this was done, others who had diseases on the island also came, and were healed: ¹⁰ They also honored us with many honors; and when we departed, they loaded us with such things as were necessary.

²⁸ "Therefore let it be known to you, that the salvation of God is sent to the Gentiles, and that they will hear it."

³¹ preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

¹⁴ And whoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when you depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.

⁵ And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them."

⁵¹ But they shook off the dust from their feet against them, and came to Iconium.

⁶ But when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his clothes, and said to them, "Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean: From now on I will go to the Gentiles."

¹¹ For this commandment which I command you this day, it is not hidden from you, neither is it far off. ¹² It is not in heaven, that you should say, 'Who shall go up to heaven for us, and bring it to us, that we may hear it, and do it?' ¹³ Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, 'Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it to us, that we may hear it, and do it?' ¹⁴ But the word is very near to you, in your mouth, and in your heart, that you may do it.

¹¹ And whoever does not receive you, nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Truly I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city."

⁹ And heal the sick that are there, and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.'

²⁶ "Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whoever among you that fears God, to you the word of this salvation is sent.

⁴⁰ Beware therefore, lest that which is spoken of in the prophets come upon you;

⁴⁶ Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, "It was necessary that the Word of God should first have been spoken to you: But seeing you put it away from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

⁸ But what does it say? "The word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart": That is, the word of faith, which we preach;

²¹ But to Israel he said, "All day long I have stretched forth My hands to a disobedient and contrary people."

³ Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high;

⁶ For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.

⁴⁸ As I live", said the Lord GOD, "Sodom your sister has not done, she nor her daughters, as you have done, you and your daughters. ⁴⁹ Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. ⁵⁰ And they were haughty, and committed abomination before Me: Therefore I took them away as I saw good.

¹⁵ Truly I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.

²⁴ But I say to you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for you."

⁶ For which reason I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

¹ The burden of Tyre. Howl, you ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: It is revealed to them from the land of Chittim. ² Be still, you inhabitants of the isle; you whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished. ³ And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the harvest of the river, is her revenue; and she is a mart of nations. ⁴ You should be ashamed, O Zidon: For the sea has spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, "I do not travail, nor bring forth children, neither do I nourish up young men, nor bring up virgins. ⁵ As at the report concerning Egypt, so they shall be sorely pained at the report of Tyre. ⁶ You shall pass over to Tarshish; howl, you inhabitants of the isle. ⁷ Is this your joyous city, whose antiquity is from ancient days? Her own feet shall carry her afar off to sojourn. ⁸ Who has taken this counsel against Tyre, the crowning city, whose merchants are princes, whose traffickers are the honorable of the earth? ⁹ The LORD of hosts has purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, and to bring all the honorable of the earth into contempt. ¹⁰ Pass through your land as a river, O daughter of Tarshish: There is no more strength. ¹¹ He outstretched His hand over the sea, He shook the kingdoms: The LORD has given a commandment against the merchant city, to destroy its strongholds. ¹² And He said, "You shall rejoice no more, O you oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: Arise, pass over to Chittim; there also you shall have no rest." ¹³ Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not, until the Assyrian founded it for those that dwell in the wilderness: They set up its towers, they raised up its palaces; and he brought it to ruin. ¹⁴ Howl, you ships of Tarshish: For your strength is laid waste. ¹⁵ And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: After the end of seventy years Tyre shall sing as a harlot. ¹⁶ Take a harp, go about the city, you harlot that has been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that you may be remembered. ¹⁷ And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world on the face of the earth. ¹⁸ And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: It shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for those who dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.

³ to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He might be glorified.

⁶ not to many people of a strange speech and of a hard language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely, had I sent you to them, they would have listened to you. ⁷ But the house of Israel will not listen to you; for they will not listen to Me: For all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.

¹ And it came to pass in the eleventh year, on the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ² "Son of man, because Tyrus has said against Jerusalem, 'Aha, she who was the gates of the people is broken: She has turned to me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste:' ³ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; 'Behold, I am against you, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against you, as the sea causes his waves to come up. ⁴ And they shall destroy the walls of Tyrus, and break down her towers: I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her like the top of a rock. ⁵ It shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea: For I have spoken it', said the Lord GOD: 'and it shall become a spoil to the nations. ⁶ And her daughters which are in the field shall be slain by the sword; and they shall know that I am the LORD.' ⁷ For thus says the Lord GOD; 'Behold, I will bring on Tyrus Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, a king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and companies, and many people. ⁸ He shall slay your daughters in the field with the sword: And he shall make a fort against you, and cast a mount against you, and lift up the buckler shield against you. ⁹ And he shall set engines of war against your walls, and with his axes he shall break down your towers. ¹⁰ By reason of the abundance of his horses their dust shall cover you: Your walls shall shake at the noise of the horsemen, and of the wheels, and of the chariots, when he shall enter into your gates, as men enter into a city in which is made a breach. ¹¹ With the hoofs of his horses he shall tread down all your streets: He shall slay your people by the sword, and your strong garrisons shall go down to the ground. ¹² And they shall make a spoil of your riches, and make a prey of your merchandise: And they shall break down your walls, and destroy your pleasant houses: And they shall lay your stones and your timber and your dust in the midst of the water. ¹³ And I will cause the noise of your songs to cease; and the sound of your harps shall no longer be heard. ¹⁴ And I will make you like the top of a rock: You shall be a place to spread nets on; you shall be built no more: For I the LORD have spoken it', said the Lord GOD. ¹⁵ Thus says the Lord GOD to Tyrus; 'Shall not the isles shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded cry, when the slaughter is made in the midst of you? ¹⁶ Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay away their robes, and put off their broidered garments: They shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit upon the ground, and shall tremble at every moment, and be astonished at you. ¹⁷ And they shall take up a lamentation for you, and say to you, "How you are destroyed, who were inhabited by seafaring men, the renowned city which was strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, who caused their terror to be upon all who haunt it! ¹⁸ Now shall the isles tremble in the day of your fall; yes, the isles that are in the sea shall be troubled at your departure." ' ¹⁹ For thus says the Lord GOD; 'When I shall make you a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon you, and great waters shall cover you; ²⁰ when I shall bring you down with those who descend into the pit, with the people of old time, and shall set you in the low parts of the earth, in places desolate of old, with those who go down to the pit, that you be not inhabited; and I shall set glory in the land of the living; ²¹ I will make you a terror, and you shall be no more: Though you are sought for, yet you shall never be found again', said the Lord GOD."

¹ The word of the LORD came again to me, saying, ² "Now, you son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyrus; ³ and say to Tyrus, 'O you who are situated at the entry of the sea, who are a merchant of the people for many isles, Thus says the Lord GOD; "O Tyrus, you have said, 'I am of perfect beauty.' ⁴ Your borders are in the midst of the seas, your builders have perfected your beauty. ⁵ They have made all your ship boards of fir trees from Senir: They have taken cedars from Lebanon to make masts for you. ⁶ Of the oaks of Bashan have they made your oars; the company of the Ashurites have made your benches of ivory, brought out of the isles of Chittim. ⁷ Fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was that with which you spread forth to be your sail; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was that which covered you. ⁸ The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were your mariners: O Tyrus, your wise men who were in you were your pilots. ⁹ The ancients of Gebal and its wise men were your caulkers: All the ships of the sea with their mariners were in you to occupy your merchandise. ¹⁰ Those from Persia and of Lud and of Phut were in your army, your men of war: They hung the shield and helmet in you; they set forth your splendor. ¹¹ The men of Arvad with your army were on your walls all around, and the Gammadims were in your towers: They hung their shields on your walls all around; they have made your beauty perfect. ¹² Tarshish was your merchant by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in your fairs. ¹³ Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were your merchants: They traded the persons of men and vessels of brass in your market. ¹⁴ They of the house of Togarmah traded in your fairs with horses and horsemen and mules. ¹⁵ The men of Dedan were your merchants; many isles were the merchandise of your hand: They brought you horns of ivory and ebony for a present. ¹⁶ Syria was your merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of your making: They occupied in your fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate. ¹⁷ Judah and the land of Israel were your merchants: They traded in your market wheat from Minnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm. ¹⁸ Damascus was your merchant in the multitude of the wares of your making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and white wool. ¹⁹ Dan and Javan also going to and fro occupied in your fairs: Bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were in your market. ²⁰ Dedan was your merchant in precious clothes for chariots. ²¹ Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they occupied with you in lambs, and rams, and goats: In these they were your merchants. ²² The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were your merchants: They occupied in your fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold. ²³ Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad, were your merchants. ²⁴ These were your merchants in all sorts of things, in blue clothes, and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords, and made of cedar, among your merchandise. ²⁵ The ships of Tarshish sang of you in your market: And you were replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas. ²⁶ Your rowers have brought you into great waters: The east wind has broken you in the midst of the seas.

¹ The word of the LORD came to me again, saying, ² "Son of man, say to the prince of Tyrus, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, 'I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas'; yet you are a man, and not God, though you set your heart as the heart of God: ³ Behold, you are wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from you: ⁴ With your wisdom and with your understanding you have gotten your riches, and have gotten gold and silver into your treasures: ⁵ By your great wisdom and by your traffic you have increased your riches, and your heart is lifted up because of your riches:" ⁶ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; "Because you have set your heart as the heart of God; ⁷ behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon you, the terrible ones of the nations: And they shall draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom, and they shall defile your brightness. ⁸ They shall bring you down to the pit, and you shall die the deaths of those who are slain in the midst of the seas. ⁹ Will you yet say before him who slays you, 'I am God?' But you shall be a man, and no God, in the hand of him who slays you. ¹⁰ You shall die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: For I have spoken it", said the Lord GOD.' " ¹¹ Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ¹² "Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say to him, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "You seal up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. ¹³ You have been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: The workmanship of your timbrels and of your pipes was prepared in you in the day that you were created.sardius; or, rubyberyl; or, chrysoliteemerald; or, chrysoprase ¹⁴ You were the anointed cherub that covers; and I have set you so: You were on the holy mountain of God; you have walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. ¹⁵ You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, until iniquity was found in you. ¹⁶ By the multitude of your merchandise they have filled the midst of you with violence, and you have sinned: Therefore I will cast you out of the mountain of God as profane: And I will destroy you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. ¹⁷ Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty, you have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your brightness: I will cast you to the ground, I will lay you before kings, that they may behold you. ¹⁸ You have defiled your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your traffic; therefore I will bring forth a fire from the midst of you, it shall devour you, and I will bring you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all those who behold you. ¹⁹ All those who know you among the people shall be astonished at you: You shall be a terror, and you shall never return to being any more." ' " ²⁰ Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ²¹ "Son of man, set your face against Zidon, and prophesy against it, ²² and say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "Behold, I am against you, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of you: And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her. ²³ For I will send pestilence into her, and blood into her streets; and the wounded shall be judged in the midst of her by the sword on her on every side; and they shall know that I am the LORD. ²⁴ And there shall be no longer a pricking brier to the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn from all who are around them, who despised them; and they shall know that I am the Lord GOD." ²⁵ Thus says the Lord GOD; "When I have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then they shall dwell in their land that I have given to My servant Jacob. ²⁶ And they shall dwell safely in it, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yes, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those who despise them around them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God." ' "

³ And I set my face toward the LORD God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:

⁴ Yes, and what have you to do with Me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the borders of Palestine? Will you render Me a recompense? And if you recompense Me, swiftly and speedily I will return your recompense upon your own head; ⁵ because you have taken My silver and My gold, and have carried My goodly pleasant things into your temples: ⁶ You have also sold the children of Judah and the children of Jerusalem to the Grecians, that you might remove them far from their border. ⁷ Behold, I will raise them out of the place where you have sold them, and will return your recompense upon your own head: ⁸ And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: For the LORD has spoken it.

²⁰ Then He began to reproach the cities where most of His mighty works were done, because they did not repent: ²¹ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. ²² But I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment, than for you. ²³ And you, Capernaum, which are exalted to heaven, shall be brought down to hell: For if the mighty works which have been done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

²² Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him, and implored Him to touch him. ²³ And He took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when He had spat on his eyes, and put His hands upon him, He asked him if he saw anything. ²⁴ And he looked up, and said, "I see men like trees, walking." ²⁵ After that He put His hands upon his eyes again, and made him look up: And he was restored, and saw everyone clearly. ²⁶ Then He sent him away to his house, saying, "Neither go into the town, nor tell it to anyone in the town."

¹⁰ And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. And He took them, and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. ¹¹ Now when the people knew it, they followed Him: And He received them, and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those that had need of healing. ¹² And when the day began to wear away, then the twelve came, and said to Him, "Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country all around, and lodge, and get provisions: For we are here in a deserted place." ¹³ But He said to them, "You give them something to eat." And they said, "We have no more except five loaves and two fish; unless we should go and buy food for all these people." ¹⁴ For there were about five thousand men. And He said to His disciples, "Make them sit down by fifties in a company." ¹⁵ And they did so, and made them all sit down. ¹⁶ Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed them, and broke, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. ¹⁷ And they ate, and were all filled: And there was taken up twelve baskets of fragments that remained to them.

⁵ Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless a man is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. ⁶ That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

²⁵ Now when they did not agree among themselves, they departed, after that Paul spoke one word, "The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers, ²⁶ saying, 'Go to this people, and say, "Hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and not perceive: ²⁷ For the heart of this people is waxed over, and their ears are dull of hearing, and they have closed their eyes; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them." ' ²⁸ "Therefore let it be known to you, that the salvation of God is sent to the Gentiles, and that they will hear it."

²⁹ And as Isaiah said before, "Unless the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we would have been even as Sodom, and been made similar to Gomorrah." ³⁰ What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, who did not follow after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. ³¹ But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness. ³² Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling-stone; ³³ As it is written, "Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling-stone and rock of offense: And whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed."

⁸ (Even as it is written, "God has given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear); to this day." ⁹ And David says, "Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling-block, and a recompense to them: ¹⁰ Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back always." ¹¹ I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: But rather through their fall salvation has come to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.

² speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

³ And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."

² "I have known only you of all the families of the earth: Therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.

⁴⁷ And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and did not prepare himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. ⁴⁸ But he that did not know, and committed things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with a few stripes. For to whomever much is given, from him much shall be required: And to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask all the more.

¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

²² If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin: But now they have no cloke for their sin. ²³ He that hates Me hates My Father also. ²⁴ If I had not done among them the works which no other man did, they would not have had sin: But now they have both seen and hated both Me and My Father. ²⁵ But this came to pass, that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, 'They hated Me without a cause.'

¹ Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are that judges: For in what you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you that judge do the same things.

²⁷ And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfills the law, judge you, who by the letter and circumcision do transgress the law?

⁴ And they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower, whose top may reach to heaven; and let us make ourselves a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth."

²⁸ Where shall we go up? Our brothers have discouraged our heart, saying, "The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims there.

¹⁴ Therefore hell has enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: And their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoices, shall descend into it.

¹³ For you have said in your heart, "I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will also sit on the mount of the congregation, in uttermost sides of the north: ¹⁴ I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High." ¹⁵ Yet you shall be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

⁵³ Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from Me shall spoilers come to her", said the LORD.

²⁰ when I shall bring you down with those who descend into the pit, with the people of old time, and shall set you in the low parts of the earth, in places desolate of old, with those who go down to the pit, that you be not inhabited; and I shall set glory in the land of the living;

¹² "Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say to him, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "You seal up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. ¹³ You have been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: The workmanship of your timbrels and of your pipes was prepared in you in the day that you were created.sardius; or, rubyberyl; or, chrysoliteemerald; or, chrysoprase ¹⁴ You were the anointed cherub that covers; and I have set you so: You were on the holy mountain of God; you have walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

¹⁸ To whom are you thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? Yet you shall be brought down with the trees of Eden to the lower parts of the earth: You shall lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with those who are slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude', said the Lord GOD."

¹⁸ "Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down, even her, and the daughters of the famous nations, to the lower parts of the earth, with those who go down into the pit.

²⁰ They shall fall in the midst of those who are slain by the sword: She is delivered to the sword: Draw her and all her multitudes.

²⁷ And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, who have gone down to hell with their weapons of war: And they have laid their swords under their heads, but their iniquities shall be on their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.

² Though they dig into hell, there My hand shall take them; though they climb up to heaven, there I will bring them down: ³ And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out from there; and though they hide from My sight in the bottom of the sea, there I will command the serpent, and he shall bite them:

⁴ Though you exalt yourself as the eagle, and though you set your nest among the stars, I will bring you down from there", says the LORD.

¹³ and leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, inside the borders of Zebulun and Naphtali:

²⁸ And do not fear those which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: But rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

²³ And you, Capernaum, which are exalted to heaven, shall be brought down to hell: For if the mighty works which have been done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

¹ Now when He ended all His sayings in the audience of the people, He entered into Capernaum. ² And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick, and ready to die.

²⁸ There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

²³ And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

⁴ For if God did not spare the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;

⁷ And in the morning, you shall then see the glory of the LORD; for He hears your murmurings against the LORD: And what are we, that you murmur against us?"

² And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: And the whole congregation said to them, "Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or would God we had died in this wilderness!

¹¹ And the LORD said to Moses, "How long will this people provoke me? And how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have showed among them?

¹¹ For which cause both you and all your company are gathered together against the LORD: And what is Aaron, that you murmur against him?

⁶ "A son honors his father, and a servant his master: If then I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My fear?, says the LORD of hosts to you, O priests, that despise My name. And you all say, 'In what have we despised Your name?'

⁵ And whoever receives one such little child in My name receives Me.

³⁷ "Whoever receives one such of these children in My name, receives Me: And whoever receives Me, receives not Me, but Him that sent Me."

²² For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son: ²³ That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that does not honor the Son does not honor the Father which sent Him.

⁴⁴ Jesus cried out and said, "He who believes upon Me, believes not upon Me, but upon Him that sent Me.

⁴⁸ He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has one that judges him: The word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

⁴ While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own power? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God."

⁸ Therefore he that despises, does not despise man, but God, who has also given to us His Holy Spirit.

¹⁷ And these signs shall follow those who believe; in My name they shall cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

¹ After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two and two before His face into every city and place, where He Himself was about to go.

²⁰ And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

¹² How you have fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations!

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to Him, "Get away from here, Satan: For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only shall you serve.' "

³¹ Now is the judgment of this world: Now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

¹¹ of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

¹⁴ Since then, as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

⁸ He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

¹ Then the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven to the earth: And to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

⁷ And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, ⁸ but did not prevail; neither was their place found any more in heaven. ⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: He was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

² And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

¹³ You shall tread upon the lion and viper: The young lion and the dragon you shall trample underfoot.

⁸ And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.

⁶ And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you, and you dwell among scorpions: Do not be afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.

¹⁸ they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

¹⁷ And you shall be hated by all people for My name's sake. ¹⁸ But not a hair of your head shall perish.

⁵ But he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

³¹ What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? ³² He that did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not together with Him also freely give us all things? ³³ Who shall blame God's elect? It is God that justifies. ³⁴ Who is he that condemns? It is Christ that died, now rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. ³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ As it is written, "For Your sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." ³⁷ Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁵ Let your behavior be without covetousness; and be content with such things as you have: For He has said, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you." ⁶ So that we may boldly say, "The LORD is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do to me."

⁵ And if any man will hurt them, fire proceeds out of their mouth, and devours their enemies: And if any man will hurt them, he must be killed in this manner.

³² Yet now, if You will forgive their sin; and if not, blot me, I implore You, out of Your book which You have written."

²⁸ Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

³ And it shall come to pass, that he who is left in Zion, and he who remains in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even everyone that is recorded among the living in Jerusalem:

⁹ And My hand shall be on the prophets who see vanity, and who divine lies: They shall not be in the assembly of My people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and you shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

¹ "And at that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince which stands for the children of your people: And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: And at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone that shall be found written in the book.

²² Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name? And in Your name have cast out devils? And in Your name done many wonderful works?' ²³ And then I will profess to them, 'I never knew you: Depart from me, you that work iniquity.'

¹ And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.

²⁴ The Son of Man goes as it is written of Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born."

⁵ Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hung himself.

² And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. ³ And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profits me nothing.

³ And I entreat you also, co-yoked true companions, help those women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with my other fellow-laborers, whose names are in the Book of Life.

²³ to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

⁵ He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white garments; and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life, but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels."

⁸ And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

¹² And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life: And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

¹⁵ And whoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

²⁷ And there shall in no case enter into it anything that defiles, neither anything that works abomination, or makes a lie: But those which are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

¹² He disappoints the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise. ¹³ He takes the wise in their own craftiness: And the counsel of the froward is carried headlong. ¹⁴ They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope in the noonday as in the night.

² Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings You have ordained strength because of Your enemies, that You might make the enemy and the avenger be still.

¹ A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD's, and its fullness; the world, and those that dwell in it.

¹⁴ The secret of the LORD is with those that fear Him; and He will show them His covenant.

¹⁴ Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder: For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid."

¹⁸ And in that day the deaf shall hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness. ¹⁹ The meek shall also increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

⁸ And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: The wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err in it.

¹¹ He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied: By His knowledge my righteous servant shall justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities.

⁵ For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you: And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.

¹ Thus says the LORD, "The heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool: Where is the house that you build to Me? And where is the place of My rest?

¹⁷ The LORD your God is mighty in the midst of you; He will save, He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest in His love, He will joy over you with singing."

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said, "I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them to babes. ²⁶ Even so, Father: For so it seemed good in Your sight. ²⁷ All things are delivered to Me from My Father: And no man knows the Son, except the Father; neither does any man know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal Him.

¹¹ He answered and said to them, "Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. ¹² For whoever has, to him more shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: But whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him. ¹³ Therefore I speak to them in parables: Because seeing they do not see; and hearing they do not hear, neither do they understand. ¹⁴ And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says, 'By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive: ¹⁵ For this people's heart is waxed over, and their ears are dull of hearing, and they have closed their eyes; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.' ¹⁶ But blessed are your eyes, for they see: And your ears, for they hear.

¹⁷ And Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah: For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father which is in heaven.

¹⁶ and said to Him, "Do You hear what these say?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes; have you never read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise'?"

¹⁵ Truly I say to you, Whoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter into it."

⁵ And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

⁹ And when she has found it, she calls her friends and her neighbors together, saying, 'Rejoice with me; for I have found the silver piece which I lost.'

⁴¹ Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up His eyes, and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.

²⁴ Father, I will that those whom You have given Me are also with Me where I am; that they may behold My glory, which You have given Me: For You loved Me before the foundation of the world. ²⁵ O righteous Father, the world has not known You: But I have known You, and these have known that You have sent Me. ²⁶ And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it: That the love with which You have loved Me may be in them, and I in them."

⁹ God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord. ¹⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. ¹¹ For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those who are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. ¹² Now I say this, that every one of you says, "I am of Paul"; or "I am of Apollos"; or "I am of Cephas"; or "I am of Christ." ¹³ Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? ¹⁴ I thank God that I baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius; ¹⁵ lest anyone should say that I had baptized in my own name. ¹⁶ And, I also baptized the household of Stephanas: Besides these, I do not know whether I baptized any other. ¹⁷ For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel: Not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect. ¹⁸ For the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those that perish; but to us who are saved it is the power of God. ¹⁹ For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." ²⁰ Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? ²¹ For since in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of preaching to save those that believe. ²² For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: ²³ But we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling-block, and to the Greeks foolishness; ²⁴ but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. ²⁵ For the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. ²⁶ For you see your calling, brethren, how not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: ²⁷ But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; ²⁸ and base things of the world, and things which are despised, God has chosen, yes, and things which are not, to bring to nothing things that are: ²⁹ That no flesh should glory in His presence.

⁶ Nevertheless, we speak wisdom among those that are perfect: Yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nothing: ⁷ But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world to our glory: ⁸ Which none of the princes of this world knew: For had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

¹⁸ Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seems to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. ¹⁹ For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, "He catches the wise in their own craftiness." ²⁰ And again, "The LORD knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain."

³ But if our gospel is hid, it is hid to those that are lost:

⁵ Having predestined us to the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

¹¹ In Whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will:

² that their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and among all riches from the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; ³ in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

¹ Therefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speaking, ² as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby:

²⁷ All things are delivered to Me from My Father: And no man knows the Son, except the Father; neither does any man know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal Him.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All power is given to Me in heaven and in earth.

¹⁸ No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

³⁵ The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand.

²² For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son: ²³ That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that does not honor the Son does not honor the Father which sent Him. ²⁴ "Truly, truly, I say to you, He who hears My word, and believes on Him that sent Me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but has passed from death to life. ²⁵ Truly, truly, I say to you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: And those that hear shall live. ²⁶ For as the Father has life in Himself; so He has given to the Son to have life in Himself; ²⁷ and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.

⁴⁴ No one can come to Me, unless the Father which has sent Me draws him: And I will raise him up at the last day. ⁴⁵ It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught of God.' Every man therefore that has heard, and has learned of the Father, comes to Me. ⁴⁶ Not that any man has seen the Father, except He which is of God, He has seen the Father.

¹⁵ As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father: And I lay down My life for the sheep.

³ Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God, and went to God;

² As you have given Him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.

⁵ And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Your own self with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

¹⁰ And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I am glorified in them.

²⁶ And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it: That the love with which You have loved Me may be in them, and I in them."

²⁴ Then comes the end, when He shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when He shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

⁶ For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

²¹ far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

⁹ Therefore God has also highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: ¹⁰ That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things on earth, and things under the earth; ¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

⁸ You have put all things in subjection under his feet." For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

⁹ Whoever transgresses, and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ, does not have God. He that abides in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son.

¹⁶ But blessed are your eyes, for they see: And your ears, for they hear. ¹⁷ For truly I say to you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which you see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which you hear, and have not heard them.

⁵⁶ Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day; and he saw it, and was glad."

¹³ These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them far off, and were persuaded by them, embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

³⁹ And all these, having obtained a good report through faith, did not receive the promise:

¹⁰ Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come to you: ¹¹ Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them signified, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. ¹² To whom it was revealed that, not for themselves, but to us they ministered these things, which are now reported to you by those that have preached the gospel to you with the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

¹⁶ And behold, one came and said to Him, "Good Master, what good thing should I do, that I may have eternal life?" ¹⁷ And He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? There are none good except One, that is, God: But if you desire to enter into life, keep the commandments." ¹⁸ He said to Him, "Which ones?" Jesus said, " 'You shall not murder', 'You shall not commit adultery', 'You shall not steal', 'You shall not bear false witness', ¹⁹ 'Honor your father and your mother': And, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' "

³⁴ But when the Pharisees heard that He had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. ³⁵ Then one of them, who was a lawyer, asked Him a question, tempting Him, and saying, ³⁶ "Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law?" ³⁷ Jesus said to him, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' ³⁸ This is the first and great commandment. ³⁹ And the second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'

³⁰ But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, not being baptized by him.

⁴⁵ Then one of the lawyers answered, and said to Him, "Master, in this saying You reproach us also." ⁴⁶ And He said, "Woe to you also, you lawyers! For you load men with burdens grievous to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers.

¹⁸ Then a certain ruler asked Him, saying, "Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"

³⁰ And brought them out, and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" ³¹ And they said, "Believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved, and your house."

¹⁸ For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise: But God gave it to Abraham by promise.

²⁰ To the law and to the testimony: If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever things the law says, it says to those who are under the law: That every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

¹⁴ For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of no effect: ¹⁵ Because the law works wrath: For where no law is, there is no transgression. ¹⁶ Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; with the intent the promise might be certain to all the seed; not only to those which are of the law, but also to those which are of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

⁵ For Moses describes the righteousness which is of the law, "That the man who does those things shall live by them."

¹² And the law is not of faith: But, "The man who does them shall live in them." ¹³ Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: For it is written, "Cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree":

²¹ Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness should have been by the law. ²² But the scripture has concluded all are under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to those that believe.

¹⁸ You shall not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.

⁵ And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.

¹² And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

⁶ And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart, and the heart of your seed, to love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, that you may live.

¹⁹ 'Honor your father and your mother': And, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' "

³⁷ Jesus said to him, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' ³⁸ This is the first and great commandment. ³⁹ And the second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' ⁴⁰ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the prophets."

³⁰ And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength': This is the first commandment. ³¹ And the second is alike, namely this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

³³ And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices." ³⁴ Then when Jesus saw that he answered prudently, He said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And after that no man dared ask Him any question.

⁹ For these, "You shall not commit adultery", "You shall not kill", "You shall not steal", "You shall not bear false witness", "You shall not covet"; and if there is any other commandment, it is concisely understood by this saying, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

¹³ For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

¹⁰ For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD; I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: And I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people:

⁸ If you fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself", you do well:

¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word, nor in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

⁵ You shall therefore keep My statutes, and my judgments: Which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD.

²⁹ and testified against them, that you might bring them again to your law: Yet they dealt proudly, and did not hearken to your commandments, but sinned against your judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live in them); and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear.

¹¹ And I gave them My statutes, and showed them My judgments, which if a man do, he shall live in and by them.

¹³ But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness: They did not walk in My statutes, and they despised My judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and they greatly polluted My Sabbaths: Then I said, 'I will pour out My fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.'

²¹ Notwithstanding the children rebelled against Me: They did not walk in My statutes, neither kept My judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall live in and by them; they polluted My Sabbaths: Then I said, 'I will pour out My fury on them, to accomplish My anger against them in the wilderness.'

¹⁷ And He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? There are none good except One, that is, God: But if you desire to enter into life, keep the commandments."

³⁴ Then when Jesus saw that he answered prudently, He said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And after that no man dared ask Him any question.

⁴³ Simon answered and said, "I suppose that the one to whom he forgave most." And He said to him, "You have rightly judged."

⁴ For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believes.

¹² And the law is not of faith: But, "The man who does them shall live in them."

³⁴ But the stranger that dwells with you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

² Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: Against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.

⁴³ You have heard that it has been said, 'You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.' ⁴⁴ But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those that curse you, do good to those that hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you, and persecute you;

³⁶ Therefore which of these three do you think was a neighbor to him that fell among the thieves?"

¹⁵ And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men; but God knows your hearts: For that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

⁹ Moreover He spoke this parable to certain ones who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: ¹⁰ "Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. ¹¹ The Pharisee stood and prayed in this manner with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

² For if Abraham was justified by works, he has reason to boast; but not before God.

³ For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God.

¹¹ But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident: For, "The just shall live by faith."

²⁴ You see then how a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

⁴ I am counted with those that go down into the pit: I am as a man that has no strength:

⁵² "Therefore, behold, the days come", said the LORD, "that I will do judgment upon her graven images: And through all her land the wounded shall groan.

¹² They say to their mothers, "Where is grain and wine?" when they swoon as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul was poured out into their mothers' bosom.

²⁴ And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put My sword in his hand: But I will break Pharaoh's arms, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man.

³¹ Then He took the twelve to Himself, and said to them, "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man shall be accomplished.

²⁸ Then after He had spoken this, He went in front, ascending up to Jerusalem.

³ And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: And she happened to come upon a part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.

⁶ And the young man that told him said, "As I happened by chance upon Mount Gilboa, behold, Saul leaned upon his spear; and lo, the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him.

¹⁴ To him that is afflicted pity should be showed from his friend; but he forsakes the fear of the Almighty. ¹⁵ My brothers have dealt deceitfully as a brook, and as the stream of brooks they pass away; ¹⁶ which are blackish by reason of the ice, and in which the snow is hid: ¹⁷ What time they wax warm, they vanish: When it is hot, they are consumed out of their place. ¹⁸ The paths of their way are turned aside; they go to nothing, and perish. ¹⁹ The troops of Tema looked, the companies of Sheba waited for them. ²⁰ They were confounded because they had hoped; they came thither, and were ashamed. ²¹ For now you are nothing; you see my casting down, and are afraid.

¹⁰ My heart pants, my strength fails me: As for the light of my eyes, it also is gone from me. ¹¹ My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my grief; and my kinsmen stand afar off.

²⁰ Reproach has broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: And I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.

⁴ I looked on my right hand side, and beheld, but there was no man that knew me: Refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.

¹³ Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

¹¹ If you forbear to deliver those that are drawn to death, and those that are ready to be slain; ¹² if you say, "Behold, we did not know it"; does He that ponders the heart not consider it? And He that keeps your soul, does He not know it? And shall He not render to every man according to his works?

¹¹ I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.

³¹ the prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and My people love to have it so: And what will you do in the end of it?'

¹ "Hear this, O priests; and hearken, you house of Israel; and give ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because you have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread on Tabor.

⁹ And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the streets by consent: For they commit lewdness.

¹⁰ "Who is there among you that would even shut the doors for free? Neither do you all kindle fire on My altar for free. I have no pleasure in you", says the LORD of hosts, "Neither will I accept an offering from your hand.

¹³ For he that has shown no mercy shall have judgment without mercy; and mercy rejoices against judgment. ¹⁴ What does it profit, my brethren, though a man says he has faith, and does not have works? Can faith save him? ¹⁵ If a brother or sister is naked, and destitute of daily food, ¹⁶ and one of you says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled"; but you do not give them those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit?

¹⁶ By this we perceive the love of God, because He laid down His life for us: And we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. ¹⁷ But whoever has this world's good life, and sees his brother have need, and shuts up his inner heart of compassion from him, how does the love of God dwell in him? ¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word, nor in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

²⁵ I also became a reproach to them: When they looked upon Me they shook their heads.

¹⁰ Do not forsake your own friend, nor your father's friend; neither go into your brother's house in the day of your calamity: For a neighbor that is near is better than a brother far off.

¹⁷ Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.Greeks; most probably Jewish Greeks

² For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

⁶ And when she had opened it, she saw the child: And behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, "This is one of the Hebrews' children."

⁵⁰ and forgive your people that have sinned against you, and all their transgressions in which they have transgressed against you, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:

⁷ Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs who was in the king's house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin; ⁸ ebedmelech went forth out of the king's house, and spoke to the king saying, ⁹ "My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is likely to die for hunger in the place where he is: For there is no more bread in the city." ¹⁰ Then the king commanded Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, "Take from hence thirty men with you, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he dies." ¹¹ So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took there old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah. ¹² And Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah, "Now put these old cast clouts and rotten rags under your armholes under the cords." And Jeremiah did so. ¹³ So they drew up Jeremiah with cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: And Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

¹⁶ "Go and speak to Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; "Behold, I will bring My words on this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be accomplished in that day before you. ¹⁷ But I will deliver you in that day", said the LORD: "and you shall not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid. ¹⁸ For I will surely deliver you, and you shall not fall by the sword, but your life shall be for a prey to you: Because you have put your trust in Me", said the LORD.' "

⁵ These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, "Do not go onto the highway of the Gentiles, and do not enter into any city of the Samaritans:

³³ Should you not have also had compassion on your fellow-servant, even as I had pity on you?'

⁵² and sent messengers before His face: And they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for Him. ⁵³ And they did not receive Him, because His face was as though He would go to Jerusalem.

¹⁶ and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks: And he was a Samaritan. ¹⁷ And Jesus responding said, "Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? ¹⁸ There are not any found that returned to give glory to God, except this stranger."

⁹ Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask for a drink from me, who am a woman of Samaria?" For the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

⁴⁸ Then the Jews answered, and said to Him, "Do we not say full well that You are a Samaritan, and have a devil?"

²⁷ And as one of them opened his sack to give his donkey dry meal at the inn, he saw his money; for behold, it was in his sack's mouth.

²⁴ And it came to pass by the pathway, in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him.

⁴ If you meet your enemy's ox or his donkey going astray, you shall surely bring it back to him again. ⁵ If you see the donkey of him who hates you lying under his burden, and would forbear to help him, you shall surely help him.

³ He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.

¹⁷ Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles: ¹⁸ Lest the LORD see it, and it displease Him, and He turns away His wrath from him.

²¹ If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink: ²² For you shall heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward you.

⁵ Why should you be stricken any more? You will revolt more and more: The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. ⁶ From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrefying sores: They have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

⁴³ You have heard that it has been said, 'You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.' ⁴⁴ But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those that curse you, do good to those that hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you, and persecute you; ⁴⁵ that you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: For He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

⁸ She has done what she could: She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial.

⁷ And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

²⁰ Therefore "If your enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him a drink: For in so doing you shall heap coals of fire upon his head."

¹⁵ See that no one renders evil for evil to any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

¹⁷ He that has pity upon the poor lends to the LORD; and that which he has given He will repay him again.

² And when he had agreed with the laborers for a silver coin a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

¹³ But when you make a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:

²³ Gaius, my host, and the whole church, salutes you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city salutes you, and Quartus, a brother.

²⁵ He said, "Yes." And when he had come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, "What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or tribute? From their own children, or from strangers?"

²⁸ But what do you think? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, 'Son, go work today in my vineyard.' ²⁹ He answered and said, 'I will not': But afterward he repented, and went. ³⁰ Then he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, 'I will go, sir': And did not go. ³¹ Which of those two did the will of his father?" They said to Him, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

⁴² saying, "What do you think of Christ? Whose Son is He?" They said to Him, "The Son of David."

⁴² And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me therefore, which of them will love him most?"

²¹ He that despises his neighbor sins: But he that has mercy on the poor, happy is he.

⁶ For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

⁸ He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

²⁸ Even as the Son of Man did not come to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many."

²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law; judgment, mercy, and faith: These you ought to have done, and not leave the others undone.

³² For if you love those who love you, what thanks do you have? For sinners also love those that love them. ³³ And if you do good to those who do good to you, what thanks do you have? For even sinners do the same also. ³⁴ And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what thanks do you have? For sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much back. ³⁵ But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the children of the Highest: For He is kind to the unthankful and to the evil. ³⁶ Therefore be merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

¹⁵ For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. ¹⁶ Truly, truly, I say to you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither is he that is sent greater than he that sent him. ¹⁷ If you know these things, happy are you if you do them.

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that through His poverty you might be rich.

¹⁸ may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; ¹⁹ and to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fullness of God.

² and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given Himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor.

⁹ But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that He by the grace of God might taste death for every man. ¹⁰ For it suited Him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. ¹¹ For both He that sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all of one: For which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, ¹² saying, "I will declare Your name to My brethren, in the midst of the church I will sing praise to You." ¹³ And again, "I will put My trust in Him." And again, "Behold I and the children which God has given Me." ¹⁴ Since then, as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; ¹⁵ and deliver those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

²¹ For even to this you were called: Because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:

²³ And this is His commandment: That we should believe upon the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment. ²⁴ And he that keeps His commandments dwells in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit which He has given us.

¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought to also love one another.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, Who is the faithful Witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. To Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood,

² and certain women, who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, ³ and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, who ministered to Him out of their substance.

¹ Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. ² (It was that Mary who anointed the Lord with fragrant ointment, and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) ³ Therefore his sisters sent to Him, saying, "Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick." ⁴ When Jesus heard that, He said, "This sickness is not to death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified by it." ⁵ Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.

¹⁹ And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. ²⁰ Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him: But Mary sat still in the house.

¹ Then, six days before the Passover Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, who had been dead, whom He raised from the dead. ² There they made Him a supper; and Martha served: But Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with Him. ³ Then Mary took a pound of very costly ointment of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair: And the house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.

¹⁰ If anyone comes to you, and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house, neither bid him God-speed:

³ Yes, he loved the people; all his saints are in your hand: And they sat down at your feet; every one shall receive of your words.

³⁴ Blessed is the man that hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

⁴⁶ And it came to pass, that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors of the law, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

³⁵ Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: And they were afraid.

³ "I am truly a man who is a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as you all are today.

³² But I would have you without concerns. He who is unmarried cares for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord: ³³ But he who is married cares for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife. ³⁴ There is also a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: But she who is married cares for the things of the world, how she may please her husband. ³⁵ And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is honorable, and that you may fix your attention upon the Lord without distraction. ³⁶ But if any man thinks that he himself behaves improperly toward his virgin, if she has passed the flower of her years, and needs so require, let him do what he wills, he does not sin: Let them marry. ³⁷ Nevertheless, he that stands steadfast in his heart, having no necessity, but has power over his own will, and has so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, does well. ³⁸ So then he that gives her in marriage does well; but he that does not give her in marriage does better. ³⁹ The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband is dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wills; only in the Lord. ⁴⁰ But she is happier if she remains as she is, according to my judgment: And I think that I also have the Spirit of God in this.

¹ But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry. ² And he prayed to the LORD, and said, "I implore You, O LORD, was this not my concern, when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled beforehand to Tarshish: For I knew that You are a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and You repent of the evil. ³ Therefore, O LORD, take now, I beseech You, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live. ⁴ Then the LORD said, "Do you do well to be angry?"

¹⁵ Moreover when it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, "This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy food for themselves."

²² Then Peter took Him aside, and began to rebuke Him, saying, "Far be it from You, Lord: This shall not befall You."

²¹ Then when His friends heard about it, they went out to lay hold on Him: For they said, "He is beside Himself."

⁵⁵ But He turned and rebuked them, and said, "You do not know what manner of spirit you are of.

²⁹ And seek not what you shall eat, or what you shall drink, neither be of a doubtful mind.

²⁷ Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man shall give to you: For God the Father has sealed Him."

¹¹ Seeing there are many things that increase vanity, how is man the better?

²⁵ Therefore I say to you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor even for your body, what you shall put on. Is not the life more than food, and the body more than clothing? ²⁶ Behold the birds of the air: For they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they? ²⁷ Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit to his stature?1 Roman cubit is approximately 17.4 inches, or 44.2 centimeters. ²⁸ Then why do you have cares pertaining to clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they do not toil, neither do they spin: ²⁹ And yet I say to you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. ³⁰ Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? ³¹ Therefore take no thought, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or, 'What shall we drink?' or, 'With what shall we be clothed?' ³² (For the Gentiles seek after all these things:) For your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. ³³ But you, seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you. ³⁴ Therefore take no thought concerning tomorrow: For tomorrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil of it.

¹⁹ but the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

¹⁴ And that which fell among thorns are they which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

²² And He said to His disciples, "Therefore I say to you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat; neither for the body, what you shall put on.

³⁴ Also take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with gluttony, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you when unaware.

⁶ Do not be full of care for anything; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

¹⁹ I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: Therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live:

¹⁵ And if it seem evil to you to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

²² And Joshua said to the people, You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, "We are witnesses.

⁵ The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup: You maintain my lot. ⁶ The lines are fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a goodly heritage.

¹⁵ As for me, I will behold Your face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with Your likeness.

⁴ One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple.

²⁵ Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is none on earth that I desire beside you.

³⁰ I have chosen the way of truth: I have laid Your judgments before me.

¹¹¹ I have taken Your testimonies as a heritage forever: For they are the rejoicing of my heart.

¹⁷³ Let Your hand help me; for I have chosen Your precepts.

⁵ I cried out to You, O LORD: I said, "You are my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.

¹³ Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: For this is the whole duty of man.

³⁶ For what shall it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

¹⁸ Therefore take heed how you hear: For whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even that which he seems to have shall be taken from him."

²⁰ But God said to him, 'You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: Then whose shall those things be, which you have provided?'

³³ Sell what you have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which do not wax old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts.

² Therefore he called him, and said to him, 'What is this that I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship; for you may no longer be steward.'

²⁵ But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted, and you are tormented.

²² Now when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, "You still lack one thing: Sell all that you have, and distribute to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: And come, follow Me."

¹⁴ But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."

²⁴ "Truly, truly, I say to you, He who hears My word, and believes on Him that sent Me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but has passed from death to life.

²⁷ My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me: ²⁸ And I give them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand.

³ And this is life eternal, that they might know You the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

³ And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profits me nothing.

⁶ For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails anything, nor uncircumcision; but rather faith which works by love.

¹⁰ And you are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power. ¹¹ In Whom you also are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the sins of the flesh from the body, by the circumcision of Christ: ¹² Buried with Him in baptism, in which you also are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised Him from the dead. ¹³ And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has vivified together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses; ¹⁴ blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross; ¹⁵ and having spoiled principalities and powers, He made an exhibit of them openly, triumphing over them in it. ¹⁶ Therefore let no man judge you in food, or in drink, or in respect to a holy-day, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days: ¹⁷ Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. ¹⁸ Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshiping of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, ¹⁹ and not holding the Head, from which all the body has nourishment ministered by joints and ligaments, and is knit together, and increases with the increase of God.

³ For you are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. ⁴ When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then you shall also appear with Him in glory.

⁴ to an inheritance incorruptible, undefiled, and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, ⁵ who are kept by the power of God through faith to salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time.

¹¹ And this is the record, that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ¹² He that has the Son has life; and he that does not have the Son of God does not have life.
