7 Then the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king's garden; (now the Chaldeans were by the city on all sides): And they went by the way of the plain.
8 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.
9 Then they took the king, and carried him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; where he gave judgment on him.
10 And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: He also slew all the princes of Judah in Riblah.
11 Then he put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in chains, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison until the day of his death.

14 And I will scatter toward every wind all who are about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.
15 And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries.
16 But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the heathen where they go; and they shall know that I am the LORD."

11 Moreover the Word of the LORD came to me, saying,
12 "Say now to the rebellious house, 'Do you not know what these things mean?' Tell them, 'Behold, the king of Babylon has come to Jerusalem, and has taken its king, and its princes, and led them with him to Babylon;
13 and has taken of the king's seed, and made a covenant with him, and has taken an oath of him: He has also taken the mighty of the land:
14 That the kingdom might be lowly, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping his covenant it might stand.
15 But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and many people. Shall he prosper? Shall he escape who does such things? Or shall he break the covenant, and be delivered?
16 As I live', said the Lord GOD, 'surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he broke, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.
17 Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company help him in the war, by casting up mounts, and building forts, to cut off many persons:
18 Seeing he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and has done all these things, he shall not escape.' "
19 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; "As I live, surely My oath that he has despised, and My covenant that he has broken, I will even recompense it on his own head.
20 And I will spread My net on him, and he shall be taken in My snare, and I will bring him to Babylon, and will plead with him there for his trespass which he has trespassed against Me.
21 And all his fugitives with all his bands shall fall by the sword, and those who remain shall be scattered toward all winds: And you shall know that I the LORD have spoken it."
