¹⁵ Why do you glorify the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

⁴ And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. ⁵ By these the isles of the Gentiles were divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

⁹ By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: They cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty. ¹⁰ But none said, "Where is God my maker, who gives songs in the night;

¹¹ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. ¹² And He shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

³ Therefore the strong people shall glorify You, the city of the terrible nations shall fear You.

⁵ The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.

⁴ He shall not fail nor be discouraged, until He has set judgment in the earth: And the isles shall wait for His law.

¹⁰ Sing to the LORD a new song, and His praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it; the isles, and their inhabitants.

¹ "Listen to Me, O isles; and listen, all you people from afar; The LORD has called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother He has made mention of my name.

⁵ My righteousness is near; My salvation has gone forth, and My arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait on Me, and upon My arm they shall trust.

⁹ Surely the isles shall wait for Me, and the ships of Tarshish will come first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, to the name of the LORD your God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because He has glorified you.

¹⁹ And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those who escape of them to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard My fame, neither have seen My glory; and they shall declare My glory among the Gentiles.

¹⁷ Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no food; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: ¹⁸ Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

¹¹ The LORD will be terrible to them: For He will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship Him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.

⁹ And I will sow them among the people: And they shall remember Me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and return again. ¹⁰ I will also bring them back again out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and not enough room shall be found for them. ¹¹ And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: And the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the scepter of Egypt shall depart away. ¹² And I will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in His name", says the LORD.

⁸ And it shall come to pass, that in all the land", says the LORD, "two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die; but one-third shall be left in the land. ⁹ And I will bring the one-third through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will prove them through testing as gold is proved: They shall call on My name, and I will hear them: I will say, 'It is My people': And they shall say, 'The LORD is my God.' "

¹¹ For from the rising of the sun even to the going down of the same, My name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered to My name, and a pure offering: For My name shall be great among the heathen", says the LORD of hosts.

²⁵ And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises to God: And the prisoners heard them.

⁷ That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found to praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

¹⁵ But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: And always be ready to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason for the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

¹² Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to prove you, as though some strange thing happened to you: ¹³ But rejoice, considering that you are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that when His glory shall be revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. ¹⁴ If you are reproached for the name of Christ, you are happier; for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you: On their part He is spoken evil of, but on your part He is glorified.

² And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: And those that had prevailed in victory over the beast, and over his image, over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. ³ And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, "Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are Your ways, You King of saints. ⁴ Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For only You are holy: For all nations shall come and worship before You; for Your judgments are made manifest."
