² And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick: And he sent messengers, and said to them, "Go, inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease.

⁶ And they said to him, "There came a man up to meet us, and said to us, Go, turn again to the king that sent you, and say to him, Thus says the LORD, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that you send to inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? Therefore you shall not come down from that bed on which you have gone up, but shall surely die.

²⁷ The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall stick to you, and to your seed forever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.

¹⁰ Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. So they executed judgment against Joash. ²⁵ And when they were departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases), his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died: And they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not in the sepulchers of the kings.

²⁵ And another dies in the bitterness of his soul, and never eats with pleasure.

³³ Therefore He consumed their days in vanity, and their years in trouble.

⁷ For we are consumed by Your anger, and by Your wrath we are troubled. ⁸ You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your countenance. ⁹ For all our days are passed away in Your wrath: We spend our years as a tale that is told. ¹⁰ The days of our years are seventy years; and if by reason of strength they are eighty years, yet their strength is labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. ¹¹ Who knows the power of Your anger? Even according to Your fear, so is Your wrath.

⁹ For I have eaten ashes like bread, and have mingled my drink with weeping

² It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: For He gives His beloved sleep.

²⁷ when your fear comes as desolation, and your destruction comes as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish come upon you. ²⁸ Then they shall call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: ²⁹ For they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

¹⁶ Moreover He said to me, "Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: And they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment: ¹⁷ That they may want bread and water, and be astonished with one another, and consume away for their iniquity."

²³ And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he did not give glory to God: And he was eaten by worms, and gave up the ghost.

³⁰ For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many deceased. ³¹ For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. ³² But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
