¹ "Also I, in the first year of Darius the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him. ² And now I will show you the truth. Behold, there shall yet stand up three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than all of them: And by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Greece. ³ And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will. ⁴ And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his descendants, nor according to his dominion with which he ruled: For his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others besides those. ⁵ And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion. ⁶ And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king's daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: But she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: But she shall be given up, and those who brought her, and he who begat her, and he who strengthened her in these times. ⁷ But out of a branch of her roots one shall stand up in his estate, who shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail: ⁸ And shall also carry captives into Egypt, their gods, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue more years than the king of the north. ⁹ So the king of the south shall come into his kingdom, and shall return into his own land. ¹⁰ But his sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: And one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through: Then he shall return, and be stirred up, even to his fortress. ¹¹ And the king of the south shall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north: And he shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand. ¹² And when he has taken away the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall cast down many tens of thousands: But he shall not be strengthened by it. ¹³ For the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former, and after some years shall certainly come with a great army and with much riches. ¹⁴ And in those times there shall stand up many against the king of the south: Also the robbers of your people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they shall fall. ¹⁵ So the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced cities: And the arms of the south shall not withstand, nor his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand. ¹⁶ But he who comes against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: And he shall stand in the glorious land, which shall be consumed by his hand. ¹⁷ He also shall set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus he shall do: And he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: But she shall not stand on his side, nor be for him. ¹⁸ After this he shall turn his face to the isles, and shall take many: But a prince on his own behalf shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; without his own reproach he shall cause it to turn upon him. ¹⁹ Then he shall turn his face toward the fort of his own land: But he shall stumble and fall, and not be found. ²⁰ Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: But within a few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle. ²¹ And in his estate a vile person shall stand up, to whom they shall not give the honor of the kingdom: But he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. ²² And with the arms of a flood they shall be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yes, also the prince of the covenant. ²³ And after the league is made with him he shall work deceitfully: For he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people. ²⁴ He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: Yes, and he shall forecast his devices against the strongholds, even for a time. ²⁵ And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: For they shall forecast devices against him. ²⁶ Yes, those who feed from the portion of his food shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: And many shall fall down slain. ²⁷ And both these kings' hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies to each other at one table; but it shall not prosper: For the end shall still be at the time appointed. ²⁸ Then he shall return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land. ²⁹ At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, nor as the latter. ³⁰ For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: Therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: So he shall do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsakes the holy covenant. ³¹ And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that makes desolate. ³² And he shall corrupt by flatteries those who do wickedly against the covenant: But the people that know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. ³³ And those who understand among the people shall instruct many: Yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. ³⁴ Now when they fall, they shall be assisted with a little help: But many shall cleave to them with flatteries. ³⁵ And some of them of understanding shall fall, to purify them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: Because it is yet for an appointed time. ³⁶ And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper until the indignation is accomplished: For that which is determined shall be done. ³⁷ He shall not regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: For he shall magnify himself above all. ³⁸ But in his estate he shall honor the god of forces: And a god whom his fathers did not know shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. ³⁹ Thus he shall perform in the greatest strongholds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: And he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain. ⁴⁰ And at the time of the end the king of the south shall push at him: And the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. ⁴¹ He shall also enter into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: But these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon. ⁴² He shall also stretch forth his hand upon the countries: And the land of Egypt shall not escape. ⁴³ But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: And the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. ⁴⁴ But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: Therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and to utterly slay. ⁴⁵ And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him."

³¹ And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old.

¹ In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans;

¹⁸ Then one like the appearance of a man came again and touched me, and he strengthened me,

²² confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

⁵ and hired counsellors against them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia. ⁶ And in the reign of Ahasuerus, in the beginning of his reign, wrote they to him an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem.

⁶ Therefore pride compasses them about as a chain; violence covers them as a garment. ⁷ Their eyes stand out with fatness: They have more than heart could wish.

²¹ that I might make you know the certainty of the words of truth; that you might answer the words of truth to those that send to you?

⁵ And behold another beast, a second, like a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth: And they said thus to it, 'Arise, devour much flesh.'

⁴ I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.

²⁶ And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: After this, shut up the vision; for it shall be for many days."

¹ In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia something was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: And he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.

²⁰ Then he said, "Do you know why I come to you? And now I will return to fight with the prince of Persia: And when I have gone forth, lo, the prince of Greece shall come. ²¹ But I will show you that which is noted in the Scripture of Truth: And there is none that holds fast with me in these things, except Michael your prince."

²⁵ And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: For they shall forecast devices against him.

⁷ Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.

³⁵ If He called them gods, to whom the Word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

³⁷ Pilate therefore said to Him, "Are You a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born, and for this cause I came into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone that is of the truth hears My voice." ³⁸ Pilate said to Him, "What is truth?" And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, "I find no fault in Him at all.

⁵ And He that sat upon the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write: For these words are true and faithful."

³⁵ And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: And He does according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: And none can stay His hand, or say to Him, "What are You doing?"

¹⁹ And for the majesty that He gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: He slew whom he would, and he kept alive whom he would; and he set up whom he would; and he put down whom he would.

⁶ After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had four wings of a fowl upon its back; the beast also had four heads; and dominion was given to it.

⁴ I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great. ⁵ And as I was considering, behold, a he-goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and did not touch the ground: And the he-goat had a notable horn between his eyes. ⁶ And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran to him in the fury of his power. ⁷ And I saw him come close to the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and broke his two horns: And there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: And there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand. ⁸ Therefore the he-goat waxed very great: And when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and in its place came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. ⁹ And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceedingly great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. ¹⁰ And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. ¹¹ Yes, he magnified himself even to the Prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down. ¹² And a host was given to him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered. ¹³ Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said to that certain saint which spoke, "How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?" ¹⁴ And he said to me, "To two thousand and three hundred days; then the sanctuary shall be cleansed."

²¹ And the rough goat is the king of Greece: And the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

¹⁶ But he who comes against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: And he shall stand in the glorious land, which shall be consumed by his hand.

³⁶ And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper until the indignation is accomplished: For that which is determined shall be done.

¹¹ In Whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will:

⁴ God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, with diverse miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

¹⁸ Of His own will He begot us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of His creatures.

⁵ that the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment? ⁶ Though his excellency mount up to heaven, and his head reach to the clouds; ⁷ yet he shall perish forever like his own dung: They which have seen him shall say, "Where is he?

³⁵ I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree. ³⁶ Yet he passed away, and see, he was not there: Yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.

⁶ Surely every man walks in a vain show: Surely they are disquieted in vain: He heaps up riches, and does not know who shall gather them.

⁶ Those that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; ⁷ none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: ⁸ (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceases forever): ⁹ That he should still live forever, and not see corruption. ¹⁰ For he sees that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others. ¹¹ Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue forever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names. ¹² Nevertheless, man being in honor does not remain: He is like the beasts that perish.

¹⁷ until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I understood their end. ¹⁸ Surely you have set them in slippery places: You cast them down into destruction. ¹⁹ How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors. ²⁰ As a dream when one awakes; so, O Lord, when You awake, you shall despise their image.

¹⁸ Yes, I hated all my labor in which I toiled under the sun: Because I should leave it to the man that shall be after me. ¹⁹ And who knows whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? Yet he shall have rule over all my labor in which I have labored, and in which I have showed myself wise under the sun. This also is vanity.

⁸ There is one alone, and there is not a second; yes, he has neither child nor brother: Yet there is no end of all his labor; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither has he said, "For whom do I labor, and bereave my soul of good?" This also is vanity, yes, it is a sore travail.

¹⁵ And it shall come to pass, after I have plucked them out that I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.

¹⁷ But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation", said the LORD.

⁷ At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;

⁴⁰ And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields to the brook of Kidron, to the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy to the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more forever."

⁴ Thus you shall say to him, 'The LORD said thus; "Behold, that which I have built I will break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.

² Daniel spoke and said, "I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven strove upon the great sea.

⁸ I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots: And behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

⁸ Therefore the he-goat waxed very great: And when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and in its place came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.

²² Now that being broken, when in fact four stood up in its place, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

²⁵ And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

²⁰ But God said to him, 'You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: Then whose shall those things be, which you have provided?'

²¹ "Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and lo, it shall not be bound up to be healed, to put a roller to bind it, to make it strong to hold the sword.

⁸ After many days you shall be visited: In the latter years you shall come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have always been waste: But it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely, all of them. ⁹ You shall ascend and come like a storm, you shall be like a cloud to cover the land, you, and all your bands, and many people with you."

⁷ But out of a branch of her roots one shall stand up in his estate, who shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail:

¹³ For the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former, and after some years shall certainly come with a great army and with much riches.

¹⁵ So the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced cities: And the arms of the south shall not withstand, nor his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand. ¹⁶ For lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that are cut off, neither shall he seek the young one, nor heal that which is broken, nor feed that which stands still: But he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.

⁷ For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch of it will not cease.

¹⁰ For he sees that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others. ¹¹ Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue forever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names. ¹² Nevertheless, man being in honor does not remain: He is like the beasts that perish. ¹³ Their way is their folly: Yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.

²³ But you, O God, shall bring them down into the pit of destruction: Bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in You.

⁸ Let his days be few; and let another take his office.

¹⁴ Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and bulrush, in one day.

¹ And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

² You have planted them, yes, they have taken root: They grow, yes, they bring forth fruit: You are near in their mouth, and far from their mind.

¹⁸ Seeing he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and has done all these things, he shall not escape.' "

¹ "For behold, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yes, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: And the day that comes shall burn them up", says the LORD of hosts, "that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

³⁰ And now, though you would necessarily be gone, because you greatly long after your father's house, yet why have you stolen my gods?"

¹² For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt: I am the LORD.

⁴ For the Egyptians buried all their firstborn, which the LORD had smitten among them: On their gods also the LORD executed judgments.

³ And you shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and you shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.

²⁴ And he said, "You have taken away my gods which I made, and the priest, and you are gone away: And what have I more? And what is this that you say to me, What ails you?

¹⁶ and on all the ships of Tarshish, and on all pleasant pictures.

¹⁹ and have cast their gods into the fire: For they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: Therefore they have destroyed them.

¹ Bel bows down, Nebo stoops, their idols were on the beasts, and on the domestic beasts: Your carriages were heavy laden; they are a burden to the weary beast. ² They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but have themselves gone into captivity.

¹² And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captives: And he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment; and he shall go forth from there in peace. ¹³ He shall also break the images of Bethshemesh, who is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of the Egyptians he shall burn with fire." ' "

²⁵ The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, said; "Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and all those who trust in him:

² And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: Which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god. ³ And the king spoke to Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain ones of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;

³ I ate no pleasant bread, neither did flesh nor wine come into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, until three whole weeks were fulfilled.

⁶ For it also came from Israel: The workman made it; therefore it is not God: But the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.

⁵ The inhabitants of Samaria shall fear because of the calves of Bethaven: For its people shall mourn over it, and their priests that rejoiced on it, for the glory of it; because the glory has departed from it. ⁶ It shall also be carried to Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.

¹⁵ Though he is fruitful among his brothers, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: He shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.

⁷ now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up on them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: And he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks: ⁸ And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.

¹² And the fortress of the high fort of your walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.

⁷ Who is this who comes up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers? ⁸ Egypt rises up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the rivers; and he said, 'I will go up, and will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and its inhabitants.'

⁴² The sea has come up upon Babylon: She is covered with the multitude of its waves.

²⁶ And after sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself: And the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end of it shall be with a flood, and until the end of the war desolations are determined.

²² And with the arms of a flood they shall be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yes, also the prince of the covenant.

¹³ And behold, there came a prophet to Ahab king of Israel, saying, "Thus says the LORD, Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will deliver it into your hand this day; and you shall know that I am the LORD.

²⁸ And there came a man of God, and spoke to the king of Israel, and said, "Thus says the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, "The LORD is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the LORD.

¹⁶ There is no king saved by the multitude of an army: A mighty man is not delivered by much strength. ¹⁷ A horse is a vain thing for safety: Neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.

¹⁰ Surely the wrath of man shall praise you: You shall restrain the remainder of wrath.

¹¹ I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all. ¹² For man also does not know his time: As the fish that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it suddenly falls on them.

⁶ And now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant; and I have also given him the wild beasts of the field to serve him.

³⁸ And wherever the children of men dwell, He has given the wild beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all. You are this head of gold.

⁷ And I saw him come close to the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and broke his two horns: And there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: And there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.

⁵ And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion.

⁹ So the king of the south shall come into his kingdom, and shall return into his own land. ¹⁰ But his sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: And one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through: Then he shall return, and be stirred up, even to his fortress.

⁴⁴ But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: Therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and to utterly slay.

¹⁴ then your heart be lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

¹⁰ You have indeed smitten Edom, and your heart has lifted you up: Glory of this, and tarry at home: For why should you meddle to your hurt, that you should fall, even you, and Judah with you?

¹⁹ You say, 'Lo, you have smitten the Edomites'; and your heart lifts you up to boast: Abide now at home; why should you meddle to your hurt, that you should fall, even you, and Judah with you?

¹⁶ But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: For he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense.

²⁵ But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done to him; for his heart was lifted up: Therefore there was wrath on him, and on Judah and Jerusalem.

¹⁸ Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

⁷ However, he does not mean so, neither does his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off not a few nations. ⁸ For he said, "Are not my princes altogether kings?" ⁹ Is not Calno as Carchemish? Is not Hamath as Arpad? Is not Samaria as Damascus? ¹⁰ As my hand has found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria; ¹¹ shall I not, as I have done to Samaria and her idols, do so to Jerusalem and her idols? ¹² Therefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord has performed His whole work upon Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.

² "Son of man, say to the prince of Tyrus, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, 'I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas'; yet you are a man, and not God, though you set your heart as the heart of God:

⁵ By your great wisdom and by your traffic you have increased your riches, and your heart is lifted up because of your riches:"

¹⁷ Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty, you have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your brightness: I will cast you to the ground, I will lay you before kings, that they may behold you.

¹⁹ And for the majesty that He gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: He slew whom he would, and he kept alive whom he would; and he set up whom he would; and he put down whom he would. ²⁰ But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was disposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:

²³ but have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you, and your lords, your wives, and your concubines, have drunk wine from them; and have praised the gods of silver and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see, nor hear, nor know: And the God in Whose hand is your breath, and Whose are all your ways, you have not glorified:

²⁵ And through his policy he shall also cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: He shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

⁴ Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: But the just shall live by his faith. ⁵ Yes also, because he transgresses by wine, he is a proud man, neither keeps at home, who enlarges his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathers to him all nations, and heaps to him all people: ⁶ Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, 'Woe to him that increases that which is not his! How long? And woe to him that lades himself with thick clay!'?

²² And the people gave a shout, saying, "It is the voice of a god, and not of a man." ²³ And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he did not give glory to God: And he was eaten by worms, and gave up the ghost.

⁶ Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

⁵ Likewise you younger ones, submit yourselves to the elder. Yes, all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility: For "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

¹⁶ Let his heart be changed from a man's, and let a beast's heart be given to him; and let seven times pass over him.

⁶ And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king's daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: But she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: But she shall be given up, and those who brought her, and he who begat her, and he who strengthened her in these times. ⁷ But out of a branch of her roots one shall stand up in his estate, who shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail:

⁷ And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him that lives forever that "it shall be for a time, times, and a half; and when he has accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished."

²⁵ Who by the mouth of Your servant David has said, 'Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? ²⁶ The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the LORD, and against His Christ.' ²⁷ "For truly against Your holy Child Jesus, whom You have anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, ²⁸ to do whatever Your hand and Your counsel determined beforehand to be done.

¹⁷ For God has put in their hearts to fulfill His will, and to agree, and give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

⁵ There shall not any man be able to stand before you all the days of your life: As I was with Moses, so I will be with you: I will not fail you, nor forsake you.

³⁰ There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD. ³¹ The horse is prepared against the day of battle: But safety is of the LORD.

¹⁰ Go up on her walls, and destroy; but do not make a full end: Take away her battlements; for they are not the LORD's.

⁶ For thus has the LORD of hosts said, "Hew down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: This is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her.

⁴ For thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;

⁴ And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came against Jerusalem, he and all his army, and pitched against it, and built forts against it on every side.

² And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp also against it, and set battering rams against it on every side.

¹⁷ Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company help him in the war, by casting up mounts, and building forts, to cut off many persons:

⁶ And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king's daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: But she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: But she shall be given up, and those who brought her, and he who begat her, and he who strengthened her in these times.

⁸ And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.

¹⁹ But I said, "How shall I put you among the children, and give you a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations?" and I said, "You shall call Me, my Father; and shall not turn away from Me."

⁹ And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceedingly great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.

³ And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will.

⁴¹ He shall also enter into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: But these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

⁴⁵ And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him."

¹⁷ Then Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against Gath, and took it: And Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.

³ And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

⁹ When I cry to you, then my enemies shall turn back: This I know; for God is for me.

²¹ There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.

³ Moreover take to yourself an iron pan, and set it as a wall of iron between you and the city: And set your face against it, and it shall be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.

⁷ Therefore you shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem, and your arm shall be uncovered, and you shall prophesy against it.

² "Son of man, set your face against the Ammonites, and prophesy against them;

¹⁹ Then he shall turn his face toward the fort of his own land: But he shall stumble and fall, and not be found.

³⁰ He that is not with Me is against Me; and he that does not gather with Me scatters abroad.

⁵¹ And it came to pass, when the time had come that he was to be received up, He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem,

²³ He who is not with Me is against Me: And he that does not gather with Me scatters.

³¹ What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

⁴ And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. ⁵ By these the isles of the Gentiles were divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

⁷ And Adonibezek said, "Three score and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their meat under my table: As I have done, so God has requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.

¹⁹ And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those who escape of them to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard My fame, neither have seen My glory; and they shall declare My glory among the Gentiles.

¹⁰ For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send to Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there is such a thing.

¹⁰ Hear the word of the LORD, O you nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, 'He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd does his flock.'

⁶ Of the oaks of Bashan have they made your oars; the company of the Ashurites have made your benches of ivory, brought out of the isles of Chittim.

¹⁴ Ephraim provoked Him to anger most bitterly: Therefore He shall leave his blood upon him, and his LORD shall return his reproach to him.

¹¹ The LORD will be terrible to them: For He will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship Him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.

² For with the judgment you judge, you shall be judged: And with what measure you use to measure, it shall be measured to you again.

⁸ He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: Yes, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.

² When the wicked, even my enemies and my foes, came on me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

³⁶ Yet he passed away, and see, he was not there: Yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.

⁶ "Do not let the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall toward the north by the river Euphrates.

²¹ I will make you a terror, and you shall be no more: Though you are sought for, yet you shall never be found again', said the Lord GOD."

² And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lends ought to his neighbor shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbor, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD's release. ³ Of a foreigner you may exact it again: But that which is your with your brother your hand shall release;

³⁵ And Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money according to the commandment of Pharaoh: He exacted the silver and the gold from the people of the land, from everyone according to his taxation, to give it to Pharaohnechoh.

³³ Surely the churning of milk brings forth butter, and the wringing of the nose brings forth blood: So the forcing of wrath brings forth strife.

¹⁷ For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood, brass, and for stones, iron: I will also appoint peace as your officers, and righteousness as your exactors.

²¹ And in his estate a vile person shall stand up, to whom they shall not give the honor of the kingdom: But he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.

¹ And Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem to his mother's brothers, and communed with them, and with all the family of the house of his mother's father, saying, ² speak, I implore you, in the ears of all the men of Shechem, Whether is better for you, either that all the sons of Jerubbaal, which are three score and ten persons, reign over you, or that one reign over you? Remember also that I am your bone and your flesh. ³ And his mother's brothers spoke of him in the ears of all the men of Shechem all these words: And their hearts inclined to follow Abimelech; for they said, "He is our brother. ⁴ And they gave him three score and ten pieces of silver out of the house of Baalberith, with which Abimelech hired vain and light persons, which followed him. ⁵ And he went to his father's house at Ophrah, and slew his brothers the sons of Jerubbaal, being three score and ten persons, on one stone: Notwithstanding yet Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left; for he hid himself. ⁶ And all the men of Shechem gathered together, and all the house of Millo, and went, and made Abimelech king, by the plain of the pillar that was in Shechem. ⁷ And when they told it to Jotham, he went and stood in the top of Mount Gerizim, and lifted up his voice, and cried, and said to them, "Listen to me, you men of Shechem, that God may listen to you. ⁸ The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said to the olive tree, Reign you over us. ⁹ But the olive tree said to them, "Should I leave my fatness, with which by me they honor God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees? ¹⁰ And the trees said to the fig tree, Come you, and reign over us. ¹¹ But the fig tree said to them, "Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees? ¹² Then said the trees to the vine, Come you, and reign over us. ¹³ And the vine said to them, "Should I leave my wine, which cheers God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees? ¹⁴ Then said all the trees to the bramble, Come you, and reign over us. ¹⁵ And the bramble said to the trees, If in truth you anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: And if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon. ¹⁶ Now therefore, if you have done truly and sincerely, in that you have made Abimelech king, and if you have dealt well with Jerubbaal and his house, and have done to him according to the deserving of his hands; ¹⁷ (For my father fought for you, and adventured his life far, and delivered you out of the hand of Midian: ¹⁸ And you are risen up against my father's house this day, and have slain his sons, three score and ten persons, on one stone, and have made Abimelech, the son of his maidservant, king over the men of Shechem, because he is your brother); ¹⁹ If you then have dealt truly and sincerely with Jerubbaal and with his house this day, then rejoice you in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you: ²⁰ But if not, let fire come out from Abimelech, and devour the men of Shechem, and the house of Millo; and let fire come out from the men of Shechem, and from the house of Millo, and devour Abimelech.

¹³ For I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knows; because his sons made themselves vile, and he did not restrain them.

² And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: And it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called to him, and said, "Of what city are you? And he said, "Your servant is of one of the tribes of Israel. ³ And Absalom said to him, "See, your matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear you. ⁴ Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which has any suit or cause might come to me, and I would do him justice! ⁵ And it was so, that when any man came near to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him. ⁶ And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: So Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.

⁸ The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.

⁴ In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honors those that fear the LORD. He that swears to his own hurt, and does not change it.

²¹ The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: His words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords.

⁵ The vile person shall no longer be called liberal, nor the rude said to be bountiful.

²³ And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

²⁰ Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: But within a few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.

³² And he shall corrupt by flatteries those who do wickedly against the covenant: But the people that know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

³⁴ Now when they fall, they shall be assisted with a little help: But many shall cleave to them with flatteries.

¹⁴ And the LORD has given a commandment concerning you, that, "Your name will not be sown any more: I will cut off the graven image and the molten image out of the house of your gods: I will make your grave; for you are vile."

¹⁰ And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. ¹¹ Yes, he magnified himself even to the Prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down.

¹⁰ But his sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: And one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through: Then he shall return, and be stirred up, even to his fortress.

⁸ Shall the land not tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwells in it? And it shall wholly rise up as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.

⁵ And the Lord GOD of hosts is He that touches the land, and it shall melt, and all that dwell in it shall mourn: And it shall rise up wholly like a flood; and shall be drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.

⁸ But with an overrunning flood He will make an utter end of that place, and darkness shall pursue His enemies.

¹⁵ And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. ¹⁶ But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

¹³ And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and his father Hamor deceitfully, because he had defiled Dinah their sister:

² The tongue devises mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

¹⁸ The wicked works a deceitful work: But to him that sows righteousness shall be a sure reward.

¹³ and has taken of the king's seed, and made a covenant with him, and has taken an oath of him: He has also taken the mighty of the land: ¹⁴ That the kingdom might be lowly, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping his covenant it might stand. ¹⁵ But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and many people. Shall he prosper? Shall he escape who does such things? Or shall he break the covenant, and be delivered? ¹⁶ As I live', said the Lord GOD, 'surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he broke, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die. ¹⁷ Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company help him in the war, by casting up mounts, and building forts, to cut off many persons: ¹⁸ Seeing he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and has done all these things, he shall not escape.' " ¹⁹ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; "As I live, surely My oath that he has despised, and My covenant that he has broken, I will even recompense it on his own head.

²⁹ being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; being whisperers,

³ But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent deceived Eve through his cunning subtilty, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

⁹ Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

⁴ And they gave him three score and ten pieces of silver out of the house of Baalberith, with which Abimelech hired vain and light persons, which followed him.

²⁵ And they took strong cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells dig, vineyards, and olive groves, and fruit trees in abundance: So they ate, and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in your great goodness.

⁸ A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that has it: Wherever it turns, it prospers.

⁶ Many will entreat the favor of the prince: And every man is a friend to him that gives gifts.

⁷ For as he thinks in his heart, so is he: He says to you, "Eat and drink"; but his heart is not with you.

¹⁰ Thus says the Lord GOD; "It shall also come to pass, that at the same time things shall come into your mind, and you shall think an evil thought:

²⁵ And he shall speak great words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and think to change times and laws; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

⁴ But Jesus knowing their thoughts said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts?

¹⁸ A wrathful man stirs up strife: But he that is slow to anger appeases strife.

²⁵ He that is of a proud heart stirs up strife: But he that puts his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

² And now I will show you the truth. Behold, there shall yet stand up three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than all of them: And by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Greece.

² And Saul's son had two men that were captains of bands: The name of the one was Baanah, and the name of the other Rechab, the sons of Rimmon a Beerothite, of the children of Benjamin: (for Beeroth also was reckoned to Benjamin. ³ And the Beerothites fled to Gittaim, and were sojourners there until this day). ⁴ And Jonathan, Saul's son, had a son that was lame of his feet. He was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took him up, and fled: And it came to pass, as she made haste to flee, that he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth. ⁵ And the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, went, and came about the heat of the day to the house of Ishbosheth, who lay on a bed at noon. ⁶ And they came thither into the middle of the house, as though they would have fetched wheat; and they smote him under the fifth rib: And Rechab and Baanah his brother escaped. ⁷ For when they came into the house, he lay on his bed in his bedchamber, and they smote him, and slew him, and beheaded him, and took his head, and got them away through the plain all night. ⁸ And they brought the head of Ishbosheth to David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of Ishbosheth the son of Saul your enemy, which sought your life; and the LORD has avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed. ⁹ And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said to them, "As the LORD lives, who has redeemed my soul out of all adversity, ¹⁰ when one told me, saying, "Behold, Saul is dead, thinking to have brought good tidings, I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag, who thought that I would have given him a reward for his tidings: ¹¹ How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house on his bed? Shall I not therefore now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth? ¹² And David commanded his young men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hanged them up over the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ishbosheth, and buried it in the sepulcher of Abner in Hebron.

¹⁴ So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, "What said Elisha to you? And he answered, He told me that you should surely recover.

⁶ Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, "If you be mine, and if you will listen to my voice, take you the heads of the men your master's sons, and come to me to Jezreel by tomorrow this time. Now the king's sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, which brought them up. ⁷ And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king's sons, and slew seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent him them to Jezreel. ⁸ And there came a messenger, and told him, saying, "They have brought the heads of the king's sons. And he said, "Lay you them in two heaps at the entering in of the gate until the morning. ⁹ And it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, You be righteous: Behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him: But who slew all these?

⁹ Yeah, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who ate of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

⁵ Do not trust in a friend, do not put your confidence in a guide: Keep the doors of your mouth from her that lies in your bosom. ⁶ For the son dishonors the father, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house.

²³ And He answered and said, "He who dips his hand with Me in the dish, the same shall betray Me.

²⁰ He answered and said to them, "It is one of the twelve, who dips with Me in the dish.

¹⁸ I do not speak of you all: I know whom I have chosen: But that the scripture may be fulfilled, 'He who eats bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me.'

²⁶ Then said Absalom, If not, I implore you, let my brother Amnon go with us. And the king said to him, "Why should he go with you?

² They speak vanity, everyone with his neighbor: With flattering lips and with a double heart they speak.

¹ To the chief Musician, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, "David has come to the house of Ahimelech." Why do you boast about yourself in mischief, O mighty man? The goodness of God endures continually.

² Yes, in heart you work wickedness; you weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.

⁹ Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: To be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

⁶ They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: Both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.

²⁰ Deceit is in the heart of those that imagine evil: But to the counsellors of peace is joy.

⁶ Do not eat the bread of him that has an evil eye, neither desire his dainty meats: ⁷ For as he thinks in his heart, so is he: He says to you, "Eat and drink"; but his heart is not with you. ⁸ The morsel which you have eaten you shall vomit up, and lose your sweet words.

²³ Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a broken clay pot fragment covered with silver dross.

³ "And like their bow they bend their tongues for lies: But they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they do not know me", said the LORD. ⁴ "Everyone take heed of his neighbor, and do not trust in any brother: Forevery brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will walk with slanders. ⁵ And everyone will deceive his neighbor, and will not speak the truth: They have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.

¹ Now it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah the son of Elishama, of the royal seed, and the princes of the king, even ten men with him, came to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they ate bread together in Mizpah. ² Then Ishmael the son of Nethaniah arose, and the ten men who were with him, and smote Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and slew him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land. ³ Ishmael also slew all the Jews who were with him, even with Gedaliah, at Mizpah, and the Chaldeans who were found there, and the men of war.

⁹ Say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "Shall it prosper? Shall He not pull up its roots, and cut off its fruit, that it wither? It shall wither in all the leaves of her spring, even without great power or many people to pluck it up by its roots.

¹⁹ And he said, "Behold, I will make you know what shall be in the last end time of the indignation: For at the time appointed the end shall be.

²⁹ At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, nor as the latter.

³⁵ And some of them of understanding shall fall, to purify them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: Because it is yet for an appointed time.

³ For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: Though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

⁷ And He said to them, "It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has put under His own power.

³¹ Because He has appointed a day, in which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man whom He has ordained; of which He has given assurance to all men, in that He has raised Him from the dead."

¹ But pertaining to the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I write to you.

²⁴ And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: And he shall destroy in a manner that excites wonder, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

³⁰ For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: Therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: So he shall do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsakes the holy covenant. ³¹ And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that makes desolate. ³² And he shall corrupt by flatteries those who do wickedly against the covenant: But the people that know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

²⁵ You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, 'And in your seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.'

³¹ Howl, O gate; cry, O city; you, whole Palestina, are dissolved: For there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.

²³ And after the league is made with him he shall work deceitfully: For he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.

²⁶ and He has made from one blood all nations of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined the pre-appointed times, and the bounds of their habitation;

² but is under tutors and stewards until the time appointed by the father.

⁴ And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

²⁴ And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish forever.

⁷ And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

¹² And, see, I perceived that God had not sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy against me: For Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.

¹ The burden of Tyre. Howl, you ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: It is revealed to them from the land of Chittim.

¹² And He said, "You shall rejoice no more, O you oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: Arise, pass over to Chittim; there also you shall have no rest."

²⁸ Then he shall return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.

¹⁰ And then many shall be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

¹² Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time."

¹⁰ The adversary has spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: For she has seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom You commanded that they should not enter into Your congregation.

⁷ The LORD has cast off His altar, He has abhorred His sanctuary, He has given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the LORD, as in the day of a solemn feast.

²⁰ As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: But they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things in that place: Therefore have I set it far from them. ²¹ And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for plunder, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it.

⁷ And he said to them, "Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: Go forth." And they went forth, and slew in the city.

²¹ 'Speak to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD; "Behold, I will profane My sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left shall fall by the sword. ²² And you shall do as I have done: You shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.

¹¹ Yes, he magnified himself even to the Prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down. ¹² And a host was given to him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered. ¹³ Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said to that certain saint which spoke, "How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?"

²⁷ And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that which is determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

¹¹ And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

¹⁵ Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation', spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place", (whoever reads, let him understand):

¹⁴ "But when you see the 'abomination of desolation', spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not" (let him that reads understand), "Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains:

²⁰ Moreover when you see Jerusalem compassed around with armies, then know that its desolation is near.

⁴⁰ Beware therefore, lest that which is spoken of in the prophets come upon you; ⁴¹ 'Behold, you despisers, wonder, and perish: For I work a work in your days, a work which you shall in no way believe, though a man declare it to you.' "

¹² "And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

⁹ And you, Solomon my son, know you the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: For the LORD searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts: If you seek him, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.

¹⁰ And those that know Your name will put their trust in You: For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.

⁵ A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaks lies shall not escape.

²⁸ A lying tongue hates those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth works ruin.

³⁴ And they shall no more teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD': For they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them", said the LORD: "for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."

⁷ And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that does not tarry on account of man, nor wait for the sons of men. ⁸ And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the wild beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: Who, if he goes through, both treads down, and tears in pieces, and none can deliver. ⁹ Your hand shall be lifted up upon your adversaries, and all your enemies shall be cut off.

¹⁵ "According to the days of your coming out of the land of Egypt, I will show him marvelous things." ¹⁶ The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: They shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf. ¹⁷ They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: They shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of You.

¹³ when I have bent Judah for Me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece, and made you as the sword of a mighty man." ¹⁴ And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: And the LORD God shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south. ¹⁵ The LORD of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar. ¹⁶ And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of His people: For they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon His land.

³ "My anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: For the LORD of hosts has visited His flock, the house of Judah, and has made them as His goodly horse in the battle. ⁴ Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every oppressor together. ⁵ And they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle: And they shall fight, because the LORD is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded. ⁶ And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them back again to place and settle them; for I have mercy upon them: And they shall be as though I had not cast them off: For I am the LORD their God, and will hear them.

¹² And I will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in His name", says the LORD.

³ And in that day I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: All that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. ⁴ In that day", says the LORD, "I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: And I will open My eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness. ⁵ And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, 'The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.' ⁶ In that day I will make the governors of Judah like a hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people compassed around, on the right hand and on the left: And Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem. ⁷ The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.

¹ Behold, the day of the LORD comes, and your spoil shall be divided in the midst of you. ² "For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses pillaged, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city." ³ Then the LORD shall go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fought in the day of battle. ⁴ And His feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall split in the middle of it toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall move toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

² But to you that fear My name, the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you all shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

³ And this is life eternal, that they might know You the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

³ But if our gospel is hid, it is hid to those that are lost: ⁴ In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. ⁵ For we do not preach about ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus' sake. ⁶ For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

⁹ Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰ and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in those that perish; because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And for this reason God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: ¹² That they all might be damned who did not believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

¹ You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. ² And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. ³ You therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

³² But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after you were illuminated, you endured a great fight of afflictions; ³³ partly, while you were made a gazingstock by both reproaches and afflictions; and partly, while you became companions of those that were so used.

³ And by this we shall know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. ⁴ He that says, "I know Him", and does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

¹¹ And white robes were given to every one of them; and it was said to them that they should rest for yet a little season, until their fellow-servants and their brethren, that shall also be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

⁹ After this I beheld, and lo, a large multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; ¹⁰ And cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation to our God which sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb."

⁷ And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, ⁸ but did not prevail; neither was their place found any more in heaven. ⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: He was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. ¹⁰ Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come: For the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. ¹¹ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they did not love their lives to the death.

¹² And he exercises all the power of the first beast before him, and causes the earth and those that dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. ¹³ And he does great wonders, so that he makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, ¹⁴ and deceives those that dwell on the earth by means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and lived. ¹⁵ And he had power to give life to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

³ And the eyes of those who see shall not be dim, and the ears of those who hear shall listen. ⁴ The heart of the rash shall also understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.

³ And those who are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and those who turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever. ⁴ But you, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

¹⁰ Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: And none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

²⁰ Thus says the LORD of hosts; 'It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities: ²¹ And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, "Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also." ²² Yes, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD.' ²³ Thus says the LORD of hosts; 'In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, "We will go with you: For we have heard that God is with you."

⁷ For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: For he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.

²¹ And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: And the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

¹¹ He answered and said to them, "Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

⁵¹ Jesus said to them, "Have you understood all these things?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord." ⁵² Then He said to them, "Therefore every scribe which is instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is a householder, who brings forth out of his treasure things new and old."

²³ And He said to them, "You shall indeed drink of My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: But to sit on My right hand, and on My left, is not Mine to give, but it shall be given to those for whom it is prepared by My Father."

⁹ Then they shall deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: And you shall be hated by all nations for My name's sake.

²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you: And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world." Amen.

⁴⁴ And He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you, while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the Law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning Me." ⁴⁵ Then He opened their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, ⁴⁶ and He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: ⁴⁷ And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

² They shall put you out of the synagogues: Yes, the time is coming, that whoever kills you will think that he does service to God.

² being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead. ³ Therefore they laid hands on them, and put them into a hold until the next day: For it was already evening. ⁴ Nevertheless, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.

²⁶ And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. And it came to pass, that for a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

² Moreover he killed James the brother of John with the sword. ³ And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the Days of Unleavened Bread.)

²¹ And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch,

⁹ For I think that God has approved us apostles last, as it were appointed to death: For we are made a spectacle to the world, to angels, and to men.

¹² For this reason I also suffer these things: Nevertheless I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed to Him until that day.

²⁴ And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle to all people, apt to teach, patient, ²⁵ in meekness instructing those that are in opposition; if God peradventure will give them repentance concerning the acknowledgment of the truth;

⁶ For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

³⁴ quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

³⁶ And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yes, moreover of chains and imprisonment: ³⁷ They were stoned, they were sawn into parts, were tempted, were slain with the sword: They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; ³⁸ (of whom the world was not worthy): They wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

⁹ I John, who am also your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos, for the Word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

¹³ "I know your works, and where you dwell, even where Satan's seat is: And you hold firmly My name, and have not denied My faith, even in those days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells.

⁹ And when He had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those that were slain for the Word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

¹⁴ And I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These are those which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

⁷ And it was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: And power was given to him over all tribes, and tongues, and nations. ⁸ And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. ⁹ If any man has an ear, let him hear. ¹⁰ He that leads into captivity shall go into captivity: He that kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

⁶ And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: And when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

¹⁵ Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

²⁹ For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock. ³⁰ Also men shall arise from among your own selves, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after themselves.

¹⁸ For those that are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

¹³ For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. ¹⁴ And no wonder; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. ¹⁵ Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also are transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

⁴ And that was because of false brethren secretly brought in, who came in privately to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

¹ Now the Spirit expressly speaks, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; ² speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

¹ Also know this, that in the last days perilous times shall come. ² For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, ³ without natural affection, truce-breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those who are good, ⁴ traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; ⁵ having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it: From such turn away. ⁶ For of this sort are those that creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with diverse lusts, ⁷ ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

³ For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts they shall heap up to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

¹¹ Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not to, for the sake of filthy profit.

¹ But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privately shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. ² And many shall follow their pernicious ways; because of by whom the way of truth shall be spoken evil of. ³ And through covetousness they shall make merchandise of you with feigned words: Whose judgment will now not linger for a long time, and their damnation does not slumber.

¹⁸ For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that had truly escaped from those who live in error. ¹⁹ While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: For by whom a man is overcome, by the same he is brought into bondage.

¹⁸ Little children, it is the last time: And as you have heard that Antichrist shall come, even now there are many antichrists; by which we know that it is the last time. ¹⁹ They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: But they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

¹ Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but prove the spirits by testing whether they are of God: Because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

⁵ They are of the world: Therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them.

⁷ For many deceivers have entered into the world, who do not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

⁴ For there are certain men that crept in unexpectedly, who evidently were ordained to this condemnation a long while ago, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁰ Notwithstanding I have a few things against you, because you let that woman Jezebel, which calls herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce My servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.

² And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. ³ And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. ⁴ And his tail drew a third of the stars of heaven, and cast them to the earth: And the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. ⁵ And she brought forth a man Child, Who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: And her Child was caught up to God, and to His throne. ⁶ Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.

¹³ Then when the dragon saw that he was cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man Child.

¹¹ Then I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon. ¹² And he exercises all the power of the first beast before him, and causes the earth and those that dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. ¹³ And he does great wonders, so that he makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, ¹⁴ and deceives those that dwell on the earth by means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and lived.

² And you shall remember all the way which the LORD your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, and to prove you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments, or no. ³ And he humbled you, and suffered you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you knew not, neither did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD does man live.

¹⁶ who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers knew not, that he might humble you, and that he might prove you, to do you good at your latter end;

³¹ However, in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

³ The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: But the LORD proves the hearts through testing.

¹⁰ And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.

¹⁷ So he came near where I stood: And when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: But he said to me, "Understand, O son of man: For at the time of the end shall be the vision."

²⁷ And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that which is determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

²⁷ And both these kings' hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies to each other at one table; but it shall not prosper: For the end shall still be at the time appointed.

³³ And those who understand among the people shall instruct many: Yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.

⁴ But you, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

¹⁰ Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: And none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. ¹¹ And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

⁹ And I will bring the one-third through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will prove them through testing as gold is proved: They shall call on My name, and I will hear them: I will say, 'It is My people': And they shall say, 'The LORD is my God.' "

² "But who may abide the day of His coming? And who shall stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: ³ And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: And He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the LORD an offering in righteousness. ⁴ Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem shall be pleasant to the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years.

¹ "For behold, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yes, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: And the day that comes shall burn them up", says the LORD of hosts, "that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. ² But to you that fear My name, the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you all shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. ³ And all of you shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this", says the LORD of hosts.

¹⁷ And Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah: For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father which is in heaven.

⁵⁶ But all this was done that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled." Then all the disciples forsook Him, and fled.

⁶⁹ Now Peter sat outside in the palace: And a damsel came to him, saying, You also were with Jesus of Galilee. ⁷⁰ But he denied it before them all, saying, "I do not know what you are saying." ⁷¹ And when he had gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said to those that were there, "This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth." ⁷² But again he denied with an oath, "I do not know the Man." ⁷³ And after a while those who stood by came to him, and said to Peter, "Surely you also are one of them; for your speech betrays you." ⁷⁴ And he began to curse and to swear, saying, "I do not know the Man." And immediately the rooster crowed. ⁷⁵ And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, who said to him, "Before the rooster crows, you shall deny Me three times." Then he went out, and wept bitterly.

² Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away: And every branch that bears fruit, He purges it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

²⁵ The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see the print of the nails in His hands, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into His side, I will not believe."

¹³ Now when Paul and his company set sail from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: And John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.

³⁷ Moreover Barnabas was determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark. ³⁸ But Paul did not think it would be good to take him with them, who departed from them at Pamphylia, and did not go with them to the work. ³⁹ And the contention was so sharp between them, that they parted ways from one another: And so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed to Cyprus;

² My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into diverse temptations;

⁶ In which you greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, you are in heaviness through diverse temptations: ⁷ That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found to praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

¹⁰ Fear none of those things which you shall suffer: Behold, the devil shall throw some of you into prison, that you may be proven; and you shall have tribulation ten days: Be faithful to death, and I will give you a crown of life.

¹⁵ And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him that sat on the cloud, "Thrust in Your sickle, and reap: For the time has come for You to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe."

¹⁷ For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regards not persons, nor takes reward:

²² the LORD God of gods, the LORD God of gods, he knows, and Israel he shall know; if it be in rebellion, or if in transgression against the LORD, (save us not this day),

¹³ But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? And what his soul desires, even that he does. ¹⁴ For he performs the thing that is appointed for me: And many such things are with him.

¹⁰ The LORD brings the counsel of the heathen to nothing: He makes the devices of the people of no effect.

² O give thanks to the God of gods: For His mercy endures forever.

²⁵ For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and My anger in their destruction.

¹³ For you have said in your heart, "I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will also sit on the mount of the congregation, in uttermost sides of the north:

²⁰ Come, My people, enter into your chambers, and shut your doors behind you: Hide yourself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation pass over.

¹⁰ declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, 'My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure':

⁴⁷ The king answered to Daniel, and said, "It is true that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing you could reveal this secret."

²⁰ and of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spoke very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. ²¹ I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; ²² until the Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the Most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. ²³ Thus he said, 'The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. ²⁴ And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: And another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. ²⁵ And he shall speak great words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and think to change times and laws; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

¹¹ Yes, he magnified himself even to the Prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down. ¹² And a host was given to him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered.

²⁴ And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: And he shall destroy in a manner that excites wonder, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. ²⁵ And through his policy he shall also cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: He shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

²⁶ And after sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself: And the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end of it shall be with a flood, and until the end of the war desolations are determined. ²⁷ And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that which is determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

¹¹ And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. ¹² Blessed is he that waits, and comes to the thousand three hundred and thirty-five days. ¹³ But you, go your way till the end be: For you shall rest, and stand in your lot at the end of the days."

³⁰ I can of My own self do nothing: As I hear, I judge: And My judgment is just; because I do not seek My own will, but the will of the Father which has sent Me.

³⁸ For I came down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him that sent Me.

²⁸ to do whatever Your hand and Your counsel determined beforehand to be done.

⁴ who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself as though he is God.

⁷ But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as He has declared to His servants the prophets.

² But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it; for it is given to the Gentiles: And they shall tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months. ³ And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."

¹⁴ But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

⁵ And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given to him to continue for forty-two months. ⁶ And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, and His tabernacle, and those that dwell in heaven.

³ So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness: And I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

⁵ For God knows that in the day you eat of it, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."

¹⁶ To the woman He said, "I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in sorrow you shall bring forth children; and your desire shall be to your husband, and he shall rule over you."

²¹ Neither shall you desire your neighbor's wife, neither shall you covet your neighbor's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.

¹¹ and see among the captives a beautiful woman, and have a desire to her, that you would have her to your wife;

¹⁰ I am my beloved's, and his desire is towards me.

¹⁶ "Son of man, behold, I take away from you the desire of your eyes with a stroke: Yet you shall neither mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears run down.

³ forbidding to marry; and commanding to abstain from meats, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

⁹ Those who make a graven image, all of them are vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they do not see, nor know; that they may be ashamed.

¹ Now the Spirit expressly speaks, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

¹² And he exercises all the power of the first beast before him, and causes the earth and those that dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. ¹³ And he does great wonders, so that he makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, ¹⁴ and deceives those that dwell on the earth by means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and lived. ¹⁵ And he had power to give life to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. ¹⁶ And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond-servants, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: ¹⁷ And that no man might buy or sell, except he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

¹ And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying to me, "Come here; I will show you the judgment of the great whore that sits upon many waters: ² With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication." ³ So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness: And I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. ⁴ And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colors, and gilded with gold, and precious stones, and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication: ⁵ And upon her forehead a name was written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

¹² The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all fragrant wood, and all sorts of ivory vessels, and all sorts of most precious wood vessels, and of brass, and iron, and marble,

⁹ "And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, ¹⁰ standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.' ¹¹ And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buys their merchandise anymore: ¹² The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all fragrant wood, and all sorts of ivory vessels, and all sorts of most precious wood vessels, and of brass, and iron, and marble, ¹³ and cinnamon, and incense, and fragrant ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

²⁸ Whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent, their horses' hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind:

¹ The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; so it comes from the desert, from a terrible land.

¹⁵ For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with His chariots like a whirlwind, to render His anger with fury, and His rebuke with flames of fire.

¹³ Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us! For we are spoiled."

⁴ And I will turn you back, and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you forth, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armor, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:

¹⁴ Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "In that day when My people of Israel dwell safely, shall you not know it? ¹⁵ And you shall come from your place out of the north parts, you, and many people with you, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: ¹⁶ And you shall come up against My people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring you back against My land, that the heathen may know Me, when I shall be sanctified in you, O Gog, before their eyes." ¹⁷ Thus says the Lord GOD; "Are you he of whom I have spoken in old times by My servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days that many years from then I would bring you back against them? ¹⁸ And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel", said the Lord GOD, "that My fury shall come up in My face.

⁵ And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion. ⁶ And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king's daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: But she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: But she shall be given up, and those who brought her, and he who begat her, and he who strengthened her in these times.

²⁶ Yes, those who feed from the portion of his food shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: And many shall fall down slain. ²⁷ And both these kings' hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies to each other at one table; but it shall not prosper: For the end shall still be at the time appointed.

¹⁴ And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: And the LORD God shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.

¹⁶ And the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million: And I heard the number of them.

¹² And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water of it was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

¹³ The envy of Ephraim shall also depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim. ¹⁴ But they shall fly on the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil those of the east together: They shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them. ¹⁵ And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with His mighty wind He shall shake His hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over with dry sandals.

²⁶ egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all who are in the utmost corners, who dwell in the wilderness: For all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart."

⁴⁷ Yet I will bring again the captivity of Moab in the latter days", said the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.

⁶ And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon", said the LORD.

⁸ After many days you shall be visited: In the latter years you shall come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have always been waste: But it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely, all of them. ⁹ You shall ascend and come like a storm, you shall be like a cloud to cover the land, you, and all your bands, and many people with you." ¹⁰ Thus says the Lord GOD; "It shall also come to pass, that at the same time things shall come into your mind, and you shall think an evil thought: ¹¹ And you shall say, 'I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to those that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, ¹² to take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn your hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten domestic beasts and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.' ¹³ Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions of it, shall say to you, Have you come to take a spoil? Have you gathered your company to take a prey? To carry away silver and gold, to take away domestic beasts and goods, to take a great spoil?' " '

¹⁴ And I will bring again the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their habitation; and they shall be a lowly kingdom there.

¹⁰ I will also bring them back again out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and not enough room shall be found for them. ¹¹ And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: And the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the scepter of Egypt shall depart away.

¹⁷ And it shall be, that whoever will not come up of all the families of the earth to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, upon them shall even be no rain.

⁸ And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

⁸ And all these, your servants, shall come down to me, and bow down themselves to me, saying, 'Get out, you and all the people that follow you': And after that I will go out." And he went out from Pharaoh in a great anger.

¹⁰ And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: And Deborah went up with him.

³ with twelve hundred chariots, and three score thousand horsemen: And the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians.

⁹ Come up, you horses; and rage, you chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the Ethiopians and the Libyans, who handle the shield; and the Lydians, who handle and bend the bow. ¹⁰ For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that He may avenge Him of his adversaries: And the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: For the Lord GOD of hosts has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

⁴ And the sword shall come upon Egypt, and great pain shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt, and they shall take away her multitude, and her foundations shall be broken down. ⁵ Ethiopia, and Libya, and Lydia, and all the mingled people, and Chub, and the men of the land who are in league, shall fall by the sword with them."

⁵ Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:

⁹ Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite; Put and Lubim were your helpers.

⁹ You shall ascend and come like a storm, you shall be like a cloud to cover the land, you, and all your bands, and many people with you." ¹⁰ Thus says the Lord GOD; "It shall also come to pass, that at the same time things shall come into your mind, and you shall think an evil thought: ¹¹ And you shall say, 'I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to those that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, ¹² to take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn your hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten domestic beasts and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.'

³⁰ For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: Therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: So he shall do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsakes the holy covenant.

¹³ These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength to the beast.

¹⁹ And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him that sat on the horse, and against His army. ²⁰ And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that worked miracles before him, with which he deceived those that had received the mark of the beast, and those that worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. ²¹ And the remnant were slain with the sword of Him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: And all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

² Beautiful for how it is situated, the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

² And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it.

²² And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. ²³ Thus I will magnify Myself, and sanctify Myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD." ' "

² And I will turn you back, and leave only the sixth part of you, and will cause you to come up from the north parts, and will bring you upon the mountains of Israel:

³⁵ Then the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, were broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing-floors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: And the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

²⁶ But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it to the end.

²⁰ But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill smell shall come up, because he has done great things.

² And many nations shall come, and say, "Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths": For the law shall go forth from Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

⁸ And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: In summer and in winter it shall be.former; or, eastern

⁸ And then that Wicked one shall be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the Spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming:

¹⁰ He that leads into captivity shall go into captivity: He that kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

¹⁴ Then I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud One sat like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. ¹⁵ And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him that sat on the cloud, "Thrust in Your sickle, and reap: For the time has come for You to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe." ¹⁶ Then He that sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped. ¹⁷ Then another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. ¹⁸ And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried out with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, "Thrust in your sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe." ¹⁹ Then the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the large winepress of the wrath of God. ²⁰ And the winepress was trodden outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even up to the horse bridles, for the distance of one thousand and six hundred furlongs.1600 furlongs is approximately 200 miles or 322 kilometers.

² And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

⁹ And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed all around the camp of the saints, and the beloved city: And fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
