³⁵ For whoever would save his life shall lose it; but whoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, shall save it.

¹⁰ Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. ¹¹ Blessed are you, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. ¹² Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

²² And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake: but he who endures to the end shall be saved.

³⁹ He who finds his life shall lose it: and he who loses his life for my sake shall find it.

²⁵ For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it: and whoever loses his life for my sake shall find it.

²⁹ And every one who has forsaken houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit eternal life.

²² Blessed are you, when men hate you, and when they exclude you, and insult you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. ²³ Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward in heaven is great: for their fathers did the same to the prophets.

²⁴ For whoever will save his life shall lose it: but whoever will lose his life for my sake, he shall save it.

³³ Whoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

²⁵ He who loves his life shall lose it; and he who hates his life in this world shall keep it for life eternal. ²⁶ If any man serves me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall my servant be also: if any man serves me, the Father will honour him.

²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my word, they will keep yours also. ²¹ But all these things they will do to you for my name's sake, because they do not know him who sent me.

¹⁶ I will show him how much he must suffer for my name's sake.

²⁴ But I do not count my life as precious to myself, so that I might finish my course, and the ministry, which I have received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

¹³ Then Paul answered, What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? for I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

²³ And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be a partaker in its blessings.

¹⁰ Therefore, for Christ's sake, I take pleasure in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in distresses: for when I am weak, then I am strong.

⁸ Therefore, do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but share in the afflictions of the gospel, by the power of God;

¹¹ This is a faithful saying: If we died with him, we shall also live with him: ¹² If we endure, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he will deny us: ¹³ If we are faithless, yet he remains faithful: for he cannot deny himself.

⁶ For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. ⁷ I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: ⁸ Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me on that day: and not only to me, but also to all those who have longed for his appearing.

³⁵ Women received their dead, raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

¹² Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial which comes upon you to test you, as though some strange thing was happened to you: ¹³ But rejoice, insofar as you are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, you may be triumphantly joyful. ¹⁴ Blessed are you if you are insulted for the name of Christ; for the spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. ¹⁵ But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a meddler in other men's affairs. ¹⁶ Yet if any man suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God that he bears that name.

¹⁰ Do not fear any of those things which you shall suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that you may be tested; and you shall have tribulation ten days: be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life.

¹⁴ And I said to him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

¹¹ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they did not love their lives to death.
