¹⁰ Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

¹² And whoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and he who shall humble himself shall be exalted.

⁵² He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted the humble.

¹¹ For whoever exalts himself shall be abased; and he who humbles himself shall be exalted.

¹⁴ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one who exalts himself shall be abased; and he who humbles himself shall be exalted.

⁶ But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. ⁷ Therefore, submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
