¹ Working together with him we plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain (to no purpose) (in emptiness).

⁸ »How can you say you are wise and that you have Jehovah’s Laws? The scribes have used their pens to spread falsehoods.

³⁷ »Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you kill the prophets and stone the messengers who are sent to you! How often I wanted to gather your children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings. But you were not willing!

³ The apostles stayed there for a long time. They spoke boldly by the authority of God who proved that their message about his grace was true by giving them the power to perform miracles and wonders.

¹ I request (urge) (implore) you brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

⁹ For we are fellow workers together with God. You are God's field under cultivation. You are God's building.

¹⁸ All things are from God who reconciled us to himself through Christ. He gave the ministry of reconciliation to us. ¹⁹ God was reconciling the world to himself through Christ. He was not imputing their trespasses against them, for he had committed the word of reconciliation to us. ²⁰ We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making entreaty through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ that you be reconciled to God.

¹ We make known to you brothers the grace of God that has been given to the congregations of Macedonia. ² Out of severe affliction they have an abundance of joy and their deep poverty abounds in the riches of their generosity.

¹ Now I Paul myself entreat you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am of good courage toward you.

²¹ I do not reject the grace (totally undeserved gift) of God: for if righteousness is [gained] through the law, then Christ died for nothing.

⁴ Did you suffer so many things in vain? Does it have no purpose?

¹¹ I fear for you, that I have labored for you to no purpose (and failed). ¹² I beg you, brothers, become as I am, for I also used to be as you are. You did me no wrong.

¹¹ For the grace (divine influence) of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all men,

¹⁵ See that no one misses the grace of God; that no bitter root spring up to cause trouble and defile many.

²⁵ Be careful, then, and do not refuse to hear him who speaks. Those who refused to hear the one who gave the divine message on earth did not escape. How much less shall we escape then, if we turn away from the one who speaks from heaven!

¹⁰ According to the gift you have received, minister among yourselves, as good stewards of the increased grace (divine influence) (love) of God.
