²² Many will tell me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, did not we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?'

⁴ he says, who hears the words of God, who sees the vision of Shaddai, falling down, and having his eyes open:

Please let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak good." ¹⁴ Micaiah said, "As the LORD lives, what the LORD says to me, that I will speak." ¹⁵ When he had come to the king, the king said to him, "Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall we forbear?" He answered him, "Go up and prosper; and the LORD will deliver it into the hand of the king." ¹⁶ The king said to him, "How many times do I have to adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of the LORD?" ¹⁷ He said, "I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. The LORD said, 'These have no master. Let them each return to his house in peace.'" ¹⁸ The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "Did I not tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?" ¹⁹ Micaiah said, "Therefore hear the word of the LORD. I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the army of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left. ²⁰ The LORD said, 'Who shall entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?' One said one thing; and another said another.

¹¹ The proud looks of humankind will be brought low, and the arrogance of people will be brought down; and the LORD alone will be exalted in that day.

¹⁷ The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

¹³ "I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err. ¹⁴ In the prophets of Jerusalem also I have seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies; and they strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that none does return from his wickedness: they are all of them become to me as Sodom, and its inhabitants as Gomorrah. ¹⁵ Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets: 'Look, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall; for from the prophets of Jerusalem is ungodliness gone forth into all the land.' ¹⁶ Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you: they teach you vanity; they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD. ¹⁷ They say continually to those who despise me, "The LORD has said, 'You shall have peace'"; and to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, "No evil shall come on you." ¹⁸ For who has stood in the council of the LORD, that he should perceive and hear his word? Who has marked my word, and heard it? ¹⁹ Look, the storm of the LORD, his wrath, has gone forth. Yes, a whirling storm. It shall burst on the head of the wicked. ²⁰ The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he has executed, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days you shall understand it perfectly. ²¹ I sent not these prophets, yet they ran: I did not speak to them, yet they prophesied. ²² But if they had stood in my council, then had they caused my people to hear my words, and had turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings. ²³ Am I a God at hand,' says the LORD, 'and not a God afar off? ²⁴ Can any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him?' says the LORD. 'Do I not fill heaven and earth?' says the LORD. ²⁵ 'I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, "I have dreamed, I have dreamed." ²⁶ How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart, ²⁷ who think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name for Baal. ²⁸ The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; and he who has my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat?' says the LORD. ²⁹ 'Isn't my word like fire?' says the LORD; 'and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces? ³⁰ Therefore look, I am against the prophets,' says the LORD, 'who steal my words everyone from his neighbor. ³¹ Look, I am against the prophets,' says the LORD, 'who use their tongues, and say, "He says." ³² Look, I am against the prophets who prophesy lying dreams,' says the LORD, 'and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting: yet I did not send them, nor commanded them; neither do they profit this people at all,' says the LORD.

¹⁷ They shall be mine," says the LORD of hosts, "my own possession in the day that I make, and I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him. ¹⁸ Then you shall return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him who serves God and him who doesn't serve him.

²¹ Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

⁵ Jesus sent these twelve out, and commanded them, saying, "Do not go among the non-Jews, and do not enter into any city of the Samaritans. ⁶ Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. ⁷ And as you go, proclaim, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is near.' ⁸ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.

¹⁵ Truly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.

³⁶ But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but my Father only.

¹¹ Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us.'

¹² I tell you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.

²⁵ When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, saying, 'Lord, open to us.' then he will answer and tell you, 'I do not know you or where you come from.' ²⁶ Then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.' ²⁷ But he will reply, 'I do not know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.'

⁵¹ Now he did not say this of himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation,

¹³ But some of the itinerant Jews, exorcists, took on themselves to invoke over those who had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, "I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches." ¹⁴ There were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did this. ¹⁵ The evil spirit answered, "Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you?"

¹ If I speak with the tongues of humans and of angels, but do not have love, I have become sounding bronze, or a clanging cymbal. ² If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

⁴ But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.

¹⁰ when he comes to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all those who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed.

¹² For this cause I also suffer these things. Yet I am not ashamed, for I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed to him against that day.

¹⁸ (the Lord grant to him to find the Lord's mercy in that day); and in how many things he served at Ephesus, you know very well.

⁸ From now on, there is stored up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.

⁴ For concerning those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, ⁵ and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come, ⁶ and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance; seeing they crucify the Son of God for themselves again, and put him to open shame.
