¹ And when he came down from the mountain, large crowds followed him. ² And look, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean." ³ And he stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I am willing. Be cleansed." And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. ⁴ And Jesus said to him, "See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them." ⁵ And when he came into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking him, ⁶ and saying, "Lord, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented." ⁷ And he said to him, "I will come and heal him." ⁸ And the centurion answered, "Lord, I'm not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed. ⁹ For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and tell another, 'Come,' and he comes; and tell my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." ¹⁰ And when Jesus heard it, he was amazed, and said to those who followed, "Truly I tell you, I have not found so great a faith with anyone in Israel. ¹¹ And I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, ¹² but the children of the Kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and grinding of teeth." ¹³ And Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way. Let it be done for you as you have believed." And the servant was healed in that hour. ¹⁴ And when Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever. ¹⁵ So he touched her hand, and the fever left her. She got up and served him. ¹⁶ And when evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick; ¹⁷ that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, "He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases." ¹⁸ Now when Jesus saw large crowds around him, he gave the order to depart to the other side. ¹⁹ Then a scribe came, and said to him, "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go." ²⁰ And Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head." ²¹ And another of the disciples said to him, "Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father." ²² But Jesus said to him, "Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead." ²³ And when he got into a boat, his disciples followed him. ²⁴ And look, a violent storm came up on the sea, so much that the boat was covered with the waves, but he was asleep. ²⁵ They came to him, and woke him up, saying, "Save us, Lord. We are dying." ²⁶ And he said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm. ²⁷ And the men were amazed, saying, "What kind of person is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?" ²⁸ And when he came to the other side, into the country of the Gadarenes, two people possessed by demons met him there, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that nobody could pass that way. ²⁹ And look, they shouted, saying, "What do we have to do with you, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?" ³⁰ Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them. ³¹ And the demons begged him, saying, "If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs." ³² And he said to them, "Go." And they came out, and went into the pigs, and look, the whole herd rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the water. ³³ And those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons. ³⁴ And look, all the city came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they pleaded with him to leave their region.

²⁵ And large crowds from Galilee, and Decapolis, and Jerusalem, and Judea, and from beyond the Jordan followed him.

¹⁸ Now when Jesus saw large crowds around him, he gave the order to depart to the other side.

¹⁵ But Jesus, perceiving that, withdrew from there. Large crowds followed him, and he healed them all,

³⁰ Large crowds came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, crippled, and many others, and they put them down at his feet; and he healed them.

⁷ And Jesus withdrew to the sea with his disciples, and a large crowd followed from Galilee, and from Judea,

¹⁵ But the report concerning him spread much more, and large crowds came together to hear, and to be healed of their infirmities.

²⁵ Now large crowds were going with him. He turned and said to them, ²⁶ "If anyone comes to me, and does not hate his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. ²⁷ Whoever does not bear his own cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

⁴⁴ he is a leprous man. He is unclean. The priest shall surely pronounce him unclean. His plague is on his head. ⁴⁵ "The leper in whom the plague is shall wear torn clothes, and the hair of his head shall hang loose. He shall cover his upper lip, and shall cry, 'Unclean. Unclean.' ⁴⁶ All the days in which the plague is in him he shall be unclean. He is unclean. He shall dwell alone. Outside of the camp shall be his dwelling.

² "Command the children of Israel that they put out of the camp every leper, and everyone who has an issue, and whoever is unclean by the dead. ³ Both you shall put male and female outside of the camp; that they not defile their camp, in the midst of which I dwell."

¹⁰ The cloud departed from over the Tent; and look, Miriam was leprous, as white as snow. Aaron looked at Miriam, and look, she was leprous.

⁸ Be careful in a case of leprous disease, that you observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so you shall observe to do. ⁹ Remember what the LORD your God did to Miriam, by the way as you came forth out of Egypt.

³⁹ I am this day weak, though anointed king. And these men, the sons of Zeruiah, are too brutal for me. May the LORD reward the evildoer according to his wickedness."

¹ Now Naaman, captain of the army of the king of Aram, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him the LORD had given victory to Aram: he was also a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper.

²⁷ Therefore the leprosy of Naaman will cling to you and to your descendants forever." He went out from his presence a leper, as white as snow.

³ Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate. And they said to one another, "Why do we sit here until we die? ⁴ If we say, 'We will enter into the city,' then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. If we sit still here, we also die. Now therefore come, and let us surrender to the army of the Arameans. If they save us alive, we will live; and if they kill us, we will only die."

⁵ The LORD struck the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house. Jotham the king's son was over the household, judging the people of the land.

¹⁹ Then Uzziah was angry; and he had a censer in his hand to burn incense; and while he was angry with the priests, the leprosy broke forth in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, beside the altar of incense. ²⁰ Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked on him, and look, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out quickly from there; yes, himself hurried also to go out, because the LORD had struck him. ²¹ Uzziah the king was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.

¹¹ And they came into the house and saw the young child with Mary, his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered to him gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

⁹ And he said to him, "I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me."

¹⁸ While he told these things to them, look, a ruler came and worshiped him, saying, "My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live."

²⁸ And when he had come into the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They told him, "Yes, Lord." ²⁹ Then he touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you."

⁸ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.

⁵⁸ And he did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

³³ Those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "You are truly the Son of God."

²⁵ But she came and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, help me."

²⁶ The servant therefore fell down and kneeled before him, saying, 'Lord, have patience with me, and I will repay you all.'

²⁰ Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, kneeling and asking a certain thing of him.

⁶ Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

⁹ And look, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" And they came and took hold of his feet, and worshiped him.

¹⁷ When they saw him, they bowed down to him, but some doubted.

⁴⁰ And a leper came to him, begging him, and knelt down and said to him, "If you want to, you can make me clean." ⁴¹ And being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, "I am willing. Be cleansed." ⁴² And immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was made clean. ⁴³ And he strictly warned him, and immediately sent him out, ⁴⁴ and said to him, "See you say nothing to anyone, but go show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them." ⁴⁵ But he went out, and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places: and they came to him from everywhere.

⁶ And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed down to him, ⁷ and crying out with a loud voice, he said, "What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me."

²² And it has often cast him both into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us." ²³ Jesus said to him, "'If you can?' All things are possible to him who believes." ²⁴ Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, "I believe. Help my unbelief."

²⁷ There were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, except Naaman, the Syrian."

¹² It happened, while he was in one of the cities, look, there was a man full of leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell on his face, and begged him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean." ¹³ And he stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I am willing. Be cleansed." Immediately the leprosy left him. ¹⁴ And he commanded him, “Do not tell anyone, but go your way, and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing according to what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them."

¹² As he entered into a certain village, ten men who were lepers met him, who stood at a distance. ¹³ They lifted up their voices, saying, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us." ¹⁴ When he saw them, he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." It happened that as they went, they were cleansed. ¹⁵ One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice. ¹⁶ He fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks; and he was a Samaritan. ¹⁷ Jesus answered, "Weren't the ten cleansed? But where are the nine? ¹⁸ Were there none found who returned to give glory to God, except this stranger?" ¹⁹ Then he said to him, "Get up, and go your way. Your faith has healed you."

³⁸ He said, "Lord, I believe." and he worshiped him.

²⁵ When it happened that Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell down at his feet, and worshiped him.

²⁵ And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed.

¹⁰ I fell down before his feet to worship him. He said to me, "Look. Do not do it. I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy."

⁸ Now I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. When I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who had shown me these things. ⁹ He said to me, "See you do not do it. I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers, the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God."

³ And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

¹¹ But Naaman was angry, and went away, and said, "Look, I thought, 'He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leper.'

¹⁴ Then he went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

⁹ For he spoke, and it was done. He commanded, and it stood firm.

⁴ And Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: ⁵ the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.

⁴¹ And being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, "I am willing. Be cleansed."

³⁹ And he awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace. Be still." And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

⁴¹ And taking the child by the hand, he said to her, "Talitha koum," which translated means, "Little girl, I tell you, get up."

³⁴ Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, "Ephphatha." that is, "Be opened."

²⁵ When Jesus saw that a crowd came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, "You deaf and mute spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again."

¹³ And he stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I am willing. Be cleansed." Immediately the leprosy left him.

¹⁴ He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said, "Young man, I tell you, arise."

¹⁴ When he saw them, he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." It happened that as they went, they were cleansed. ¹⁵ One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice.

²¹ For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom he desires.

⁴³ When he had said this, he shouted with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out."

²⁴ If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have had sin. But now have they seen and also hated both me and my Father.

² "When a man shall have a rising in his body's skin, or a scab, or a bright spot, and it becomes in the skin of his body the plague of leprosy, then he shall be brought to Aaron the priest, or to one of his sons, the priests: ³ and the priest shall examine the plague in the skin of the body: and if the hair in the plague has turned white, and the appearance of the plague is deeper than the body's skin, it is the plague of leprosy; and the priest shall examine him, and pronounce him unclean. ⁴ If the bright spot is white in the skin of his body, and its appearance isn't deeper than the skin, and its hair hasn't turned white, then the priest shall isolate the infected person for seven days. ⁵ The priest shall examine him on the seventh day, and, look, if in his eyes the plague is arrested, and the plague hasn't spread in the skin, then the priest shall isolate him for seven more days. ⁶ The priest shall examine him again on the seventh day; and look, if the plague has faded, and the plague hasn't spread in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him clean. It is a scab. He shall wash his clothes, and be clean. ⁷ But if the scab spreads on the skin, after he has shown himself to the priest for his cleansing, he shall show himself to the priest again. ⁸ The priest shall examine him; and look, if the scab has spread on the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is leprosy. ⁹ "When the plague of leprosy is in a man, then he shall be brought to the priest; ¹⁰ and the priest shall examine him. Look, if there is a white rising in the skin, and it has turned the hair white, and there is raw flesh in the rising, ¹¹ it is a chronic leprosy in the skin of his body, and the priest shall pronounce him unclean. He shall not isolate him, for he is unclean. ¹² "If the leprosy breaks out all over the skin, and the leprosy covers all the skin of the infected person from his head even to his feet, as far as it appears to the priest; ¹³ then the priest shall examine him; and, look, if the leprosy has covered all his flesh, he shall pronounce him clean of the plague. It has all turned white: he is clean. ¹⁴ But whenever raw flesh appears in him, he shall be unclean. ¹⁵ The priest shall examine the raw flesh, and pronounce him unclean: the raw flesh is unclean. It is leprosy. ¹⁶ Or if the raw flesh turns again, and is changed to white, then he shall come to the priest; ¹⁷ and the priest shall examine him; and, look, if the plague has turned white, then the priest shall pronounce him clean of the plague. He is clean. ¹⁸ "When the body has a boil on its skin, and it has healed, ¹⁹ and in the place of the boil there is a white rising, or a bright spot, reddish-white, then it shall be shown to the priest; ²⁰ and the priest shall examine it; and look, if its appearance is lower than the skin, and its hair has turned white, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is the plague of leprosy. It has broken out in the boil. ²¹ But if the priest examines it, and look, there are no white hairs in it, and it isn't deeper than the skin, but is dim, then the priest shall isolate him seven days. ²² If it spreads in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is a plague. ²³ But if the bright spot stays in its place, and hasn't spread, it is the scar from the boil; and the priest shall pronounce him clean. ²⁴ "Or when the body has a burn from fire on its skin, and the raw flesh of the burn becomes a bright spot, reddish-white, or white, ²⁵ then the priest shall examine it; and look, if the hair in the bright spot has turned white, and its appearance is deeper than the skin; it is leprosy. It has broken out in the burning, and the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is the plague of leprosy. ²⁶ But if the priest examines it, and look, there is no white hair in the bright spot, and it isn't lower than the skin, but is faded; then the priest shall isolate him seven days. ²⁷ The priest shall examine him on the seventh day. If it has spread in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is the plague of leprosy. ²⁸ If the bright spot stays in its place, and hasn't spread in the skin, but is faded, it is the swelling from the burn, and the priest shall pronounce him clean; for it is the scar from the burn. ²⁹ "When a man or woman has a plague on the head or on the beard, ³⁰ then the priest shall examine the plague; and look, if its appearance is deeper than the skin, and the hair in it is yellow and thin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is an itch, it is leprosy of the head or of the beard. ³¹ If the priest examines the plague of itching, and look, its appearance isn't deeper than the skin, and there is no black hair in it, then the priest shall isolate him the person infected with itching seven days. ³² On the seventh day the priest shall examine the plague; and look, if the itch hasn't spread, and there is no yellow hair in it, and the appearance of the itch isn't deeper than the skin, ³³ then he shall be shaved, but he shall not shave the itch; and the priest shall shut him up who has the itch seven more days. ³⁴ On the seventh day, the priest shall examine the itch; and look, if the itch hasn't spread in the skin, and its appearance isn't deeper than the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him clean. He shall wash his clothes, and be clean. ³⁵ But if the itch spreads in the skin after his cleansing, ³⁶ then the priest shall examine him; and look, if the itch has spread in the skin, the priest shall not look for the yellow hair; he is unclean. ³⁷ But if in his eyes the itch is arrested, and black hair has grown in it; the itch is healed, he is clean. The priest shall pronounce him clean. ³⁸ "When a man or a woman has bright spots in the skin of the body, even white bright spots; ³⁹ then the priest shall examine them; and look, if the bright spots on the skin of their body are a dull white, it is a harmless rash, it has broken out in the skin; he is clean. ⁴⁰ "If a man's hair has fallen from his head, he is bald. He is clean. ⁴¹ If his hair has fallen off from the front part of his head, he is forehead bald. He is clean. ⁴² But if there is on the bald head, or the bald forehead, a reddish-white plague; it is leprosy breaking out in his bald head, or his bald forehead. ⁴³ Then the priest shall examine him; and, look, if the rising of the plague is reddish-white in his bald head, or in his bald forehead, like the appearance of leprosy in the skin of the flesh,

² "This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing. He shall be brought to the priest, ³ and the priest shall go forth out of the camp. The priest shall examine him, and look, if the plague of leprosy is healed in the leper, ⁴ then the priest shall command them to take for him who is to be cleansed two living clean birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop. ⁵ The priest shall command them to kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water. ⁶ As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water. ⁷ He shall sprinkle on him who is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird go into the open field. ⁸ "He who is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and bathe himself in water; and he shall be clean. After that he shall come into the camp, but shall dwell outside his tent seven days. ⁹ It shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off. He shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his body in water, then he shall be clean. ¹⁰ "On the eighth day he shall take two male lambs without blemish, and one ewe lamb a year old without blemish, and three tenths of an ephah of fine flour for a meal offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil. ¹¹ The priest who cleanses him shall set the man who is to be cleansed, and those things, before the LORD, at the door of the Tent of Meeting. ¹² "The priest shall take one of the male lambs, and offer him for a trespass offering, with the log of oil, and wave them for a wave offering before the LORD. ¹³ He shall kill the male lamb in the place where they kill the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the place of the sanctuary; for as the sin offering is the priest's, so is the trespass offering. It is most holy. ¹⁴ The priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. ¹⁵ The priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand. ¹⁶ The priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before the LORD. ¹⁷ The priest shall put some of the rest of the oil that is in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering. ¹⁸ The rest of the oil that is in the priest's hand he shall put on the head of him who is to be cleansed, and the priest shall make atonement for him before the LORD. ¹⁹ "The priest shall offer the sin offering, and make atonement for him who is to be cleansed because of his uncleanness: and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering; ²⁰ and the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the meal offering on the altar. The priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean. ²¹ "If he is poor, and can't afford so much, then he shall take one male lamb for a trespass offering to be waved, to make atonement for him, and one tenth of an ephah of fine flour mingled with oil for a meal offering, and a log of oil; ²² and two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to afford; and the one shall be a sin offering, and the other a burnt offering. ²³ "On the eighth day he shall bring them for his cleansing to the priest, to the door of the Tent of Meeting, before the LORD. ²⁴ The priest shall take the lamb of the trespass offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD. ²⁵ He shall kill the lamb of the trespass offering. The priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering and put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. ²⁶ The priest shall pour some of the oil into the palm of his own left hand; ²⁷ and the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before the LORD. ²⁸ Then the priest shall put some of the oil that is in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the place of the blood of the trespass offering. ²⁹ The rest of the oil that is in the priest's hand he shall put on the head of him who is to be cleansed, to make atonement for him before the LORD. ³⁰ He shall offer one of the turtledoves, or of the young pigeons, such as he is able to afford, ³¹ the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, with the meal offering. The priest shall make atonement for him who is to be cleansed before the LORD." ³² This is the law for him in whom is the plague of leprosy, who is not able to afford the sacrifice for his cleansing.

⁷ It happened, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he tore his clothes, and said, "Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends to me to heal a man of his leprosy? But please consider and see how he seeks a quarrel against me." ⁸ It was so, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, "Why have you torn your clothes? Let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel."

²¹ It pleased the LORD, for his righteousness' sake, to magnify the law, and make it honorable.

¹⁵ But Jesus, answering, said to him, "Allow it to happen now, for this is the proper way for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he allowed him.

¹⁷ "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

¹ "Be careful that you do not do your righteousness before people, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

³⁰ And their eyes were opened. And Jesus strictly commanded them, saying, "See that no one knows about this."

¹⁸ Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.

¹⁶ and commanded them that they should not make him known. ¹⁷ This was to fulfill what had been spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, ¹⁸ "Look, my servant whom I have chosen; my beloved in whom my soul delights. I will put my Spirit on him; and he will proclaim justice to the nations. ¹⁹ He will not quarrel, nor shout; nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets.

²⁰ Then he commanded the disciples that they should tell no one that he is the Christ.

⁹ As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, "Do not tell anyone what you saw, until the Son of Man has risen from the dead."

⁴³ And he strictly warned him, and immediately sent him out, ⁴⁴ and said to him, "See you say nothing to anyone, but go show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them."

⁴³ And he strictly ordered them that no one should know this, and commanded that something should be given to her to eat.

¹¹ And if any place will not receive you or listen to you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them."

³⁶ He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it.

³⁰ He commanded them that they should tell no one about him.

⁹ But watch yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils. You will be beaten in synagogues. You will stand before rulers and kings for my sake, as a testimony to them.

¹⁴ And he commanded him, “Do not tell anyone, but go your way, and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing according to what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them."

¹⁴ When he saw them, he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." It happened that as they went, they were cleansed.

¹³ It will turn out as a testimony for you.

⁴¹ I do not receive glory from people.

¹⁸ He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory, but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

⁵⁰ But I do not seek my own glory. There is one who seeks and judges.

³⁷ If I do not do the works of my Father, do not believe me. ³⁸ But if I do them, though you do not believe me, believe the works; that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father."

¹³ And leaving Nazareth, he came and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,

¹ And he entered into a boat, and crossed over, and came into his own city.

²³ And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will be brought down to hell. For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in you, it would have remained until this day.

⁵⁴ Now the centurion, and those who were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, feared exceedingly, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God."

¹ And when he entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was heard that he was in the house.

³⁹ And when the centurion, who stood by opposite him, saw that he cried out like this and breathed his last, he said, "Truly this man was the Son of God."

¹ After he had finished speaking in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum. ² A certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick and at the point of death. ³ When he heard about Jesus, he sent to him Jewish elders, asking him to come and save his servant. ⁴ When they came to Jesus, they pleaded with him earnestly, saying, "He is worthy for you to do this for him, ⁵ for he loves our nation, and he built our synagogue for us." ⁶ Jesus went with them. When he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to him, "Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy for you to come under my roof. ⁷ Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to you; but say the word, and my servant will be healed. ⁸ For I also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, 'Go.' and he goes; and to another, 'Come.' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." ⁹ When Jesus heard these things, he was amazed at him, and turned and said to the crowd who followed him, "I tell you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel." ¹⁰ And when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the servant in good health.

¹ Now there was a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment, ² a devout man, and one who feared God with all his house, who gave gifts for the needy generously to the people, and always prayed to God. ³ At about three in the afternoon, he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God coming to him, and saying to him, "Cornelius." ⁴ He, fastening his eyes on him, and being frightened, said, "What is it, Lord?" He said to him, "Your prayers and your gifts to the needy have gone up for a memorial before God. ⁵ Now send men to Joppa, and bring one Simon who is surnamed Peter. ⁶ He lodges with one Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the seaside." ⁷ When the angel who spoke to him had departed, he called two of his household servants and a devout soldier of those who waited on him continually. ⁸ Having explained everything to them, he sent them to Joppa. ⁹ Now on the next day as they were on their journey, and got close to the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray at about noon. ¹⁰ He became hungry and desired to eat, but while they were preparing, he fell into a trance. ¹¹ He saw heaven opened and a certain container descending to him, like a great sheet let down by four corners on the earth, ¹² in which were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, crawling creatures and birds of the sky. ¹³ A voice came to him, "Rise, Peter, kill and eat." ¹⁴ But Peter said, "Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean." ¹⁵ A voice came to him again the second time, "What God has cleansed, you must not call unclean." ¹⁶ This was done three times, and immediately the vessel was received up into heaven. ¹⁷ Now while Peter was very perplexed within himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, look, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon's house, stood before the gate, ¹⁸ and called and asked whether Simon, who was surnamed Peter, was lodging there. ¹⁹ While Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, "Look, three men seek you. ²⁰ But arise, get down, and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them." ²¹ And Peter went down to the men, and said, "Look, I am the one whom you seek. Why have you come?" ²² They said, "Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man and one who fears God, and well spoken of by all the Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to invite you to his house, and to listen to what you say." ²³ So he called them in and lodged them. On the next day he arose and went out with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him. ²⁴ On the next day he entered into Caesarea. Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his relatives and his near friends. ²⁵ When it happened that Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell down at his feet, and worshiped him. ²⁶ But Peter raised him up, saying, "Stand up. I myself am also a man." ²⁷ And as he talked with him, he went in and found many gathered together. ²⁸ He said to them, "You yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to join himself or come to one of another nation, but God has shown me that I should not call any man unholy or unclean. ²⁹ Therefore also I came without complaint when I was sent for. I ask therefore, why did you send for me?" ³⁰ Cornelius said, "Four days ago until this hour, at three in the afternoon, I was praying in my house, and look, a man stood before me in bright clothing, ³¹ and said, 'Cornelius, your prayer is heard, and your gifts to the needy are remembered in the sight of God. ³² Send therefore to Joppa, and summon Simon, who is surnamed Peter. He lodges in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the seaside.' ³³ Therefore I sent to you at once, and it was good of you to come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God to hear all things that have been commanded you by the Lord."

²⁵ When they had tied him up with thongs, Paul asked the centurion who stood by, "Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman, and not found guilty?"

¹⁷ Paul summoned one of the centurions, and said, "Bring this young man to the commanding officer, for he has something to tell him."

²³ He called to himself two of the centurions, and said, "Prepare two hundred soldiers to go as far as Caesarea, with seventy horsemen, and two hundred spearmen, at nine tonight."

¹³ When the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, they weighed anchor and sailed along Crete, close to shore.

³¹ Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, "Unless these stay in the ship, you cannot be saved."

⁴³ But the centurion, desiring to save Paul, stopped them from their purpose, and commanded that those who could swim should throw themselves overboard first to go toward the land;

¹³ "If I have despised the cause of my male servant or of my female servant, when they contended with me; ¹⁴ What then shall I do when God rises up? When he visits, what shall I answer him?

²⁴ And the report about him went out into all Syria, and they brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, and epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them.

² And look, they brought to him a man who was paralyzed, lying on a bed. And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, "Son, cheer up. Your sins are forgiven."

³ And four people came, carrying a paralytic to him. ⁴ And when they could not bring him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him. When they had broken it up, they let down the mat that the paralytic was lying on. ⁵ And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven you." ⁶ But there were some of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, ⁷ "Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming; who can forgive sins but God alone?" ⁸ And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them, "Why do you reason these things in your hearts? ⁹ Which is easier, to tell the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven;' or to say, 'Arise, and take up your bed, and walk?' ¹⁰ But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins", he said to the paralytic, ¹¹ "I tell you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your house." ¹² And he arose immediately, and took up the mat, and went out in front of them all; so that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, "We never saw anything like this."

⁷ For unclean spirits came out of many of those who had them. They came out, crying with a loud voice. Many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed.

³³ There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden for eight years, because he was paralyzed.

⁷ When the angel who spoke to him had departed, he called two of his household servants and a devout soldier of those who waited on him continually.

¹¹ where there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, freeman; but Christ is all, and in all.

¹ Masters, give to your servants that which is just and equal, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.

² Those who have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brothers, but rather let them serve them, because those who partake of the benefit are believing and beloved. Teach and exhort these things.

¹⁶ no longer as a slave, but more than a slave, a beloved brother, especially to me, but how much rather to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.

¹⁸ While he told these things to them, look, a ruler came and worshiped him, saying, "My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live." ¹⁹ And Jesus got up and followed him, as did his disciples.

²³ and pleaded with him repeatedly, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death. Please come and lay your hands on her, that she may be made healthy, and live." ²⁴ And he went with him, and a large crowd followed him, and they pressed upon him on all sides.

⁶ Jesus went with them. When he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to him, "Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy for you to come under my roof.

¹⁰ I am not worthy of the least of all the loving kindnesses and of all the faithfulness which you have shown to your servant; for with just my staff I passed over this Jordan, and now I have become two camps.

⁸ "Take the rod, and assemble the congregation, you, and Aaron your brother, and speak to the rock before their eyes, that it give forth its water; and you shall bring forth to them water out of the rock; so you shall give the congregation and their livestock drink."

¹⁷ LORD, you have heard the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear,

²⁰ He sent his word and healed them; he delivered them from their traps.

¹¹ I indeed baptize you in water for repentance, but the one who comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and with fire.

¹⁴ But John would have hindered him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and you come to me?"

³ And he stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I am willing. Be cleansed." And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

²⁶ But he answered, "It is not appropriate to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs." ²⁷ But she said, "Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters' table."

²⁵ And Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet, and come out of him." ²⁶ And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him. ²⁷ And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, "What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him."

⁸ But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord."

⁶ Jesus went with them. When he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to him, "Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy for you to come under my roof. ⁷ Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to you; but say the word, and my servant will be healed.

¹⁹ I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants."'

²¹ The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.'

²⁷ He is the one who comes after me, whose sandal strap I'm not worthy to loosen."

⁶ Then he came to Simon Peter. He said to him, "Lord, do you wash my feet?" ⁷ Jesus answered him, "You do not know what I am doing now, but you will understand later." ⁸ Peter said to him, "You will never wash my feet." Jesus answered him, "If I do not wash you, you have no part with me."

³⁴ "Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, That abundance of waters may cover you? ³⁵ Can you send forth lightnings, that they may go? Do they report to you, 'Here we are?'

²⁵ For he commands, and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up its waves. ²⁶ They mount up to the sky; they go down again to the depths. Their soul melts away because of trouble. ²⁷ They reel back and forth, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end. ²⁸ Then they cry to the LORD in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distress. ²⁹ He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still.

⁹¹ Your laws remain to this day, for all things serve you.

⁸ Lightning and hail, snow and clouds; stormy wind, fulfilling his word;

⁶ You sword of the LORD, "how long will it be before you be quiet? Put yourself into your sheath; rest, and be still." ⁷ How can it be quiet, since the LORD has given you a command? Against Ashkelon, and against the seashore, there has he appointed it.'"

¹⁷ "Or if I bring a sword on that land, and say, 'Sword, go through the land'; so that I cut off from it man and animal; ¹⁸ though these three men were in it, as I live, says the Lord GOD, they should deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only should be delivered themselves. ¹⁹ "Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my wrath on it in blood, to cut off from it man and animal; ²⁰ though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, says the Lord GOD, they could not save either son nor daughter; they would save only their own souls by their righteousness. ²¹ "For thus says the Lord GOD: 'How much more when I send my four severe judgments on Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the evil animals, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and animal.

³⁹ And he awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace. Be still." And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. ⁴⁰ And he said to them, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" ⁴¹ And they were greatly afraid, and said to one another, "Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"

³⁵ Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be silent, and come out of him." When the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm. ³⁶ Amazement came on all, and they spoke together, one with another, saying, "What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out."

³⁹ He stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them.

⁸ For I also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, 'Go.' and he goes; and to another, 'Come.' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."

⁵ Servants, be obedient to those who according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ; ⁶ not in the way of service only when eyes are on you, as people-pleasers; but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

²² Servants, obey in all things those who are your masters according to the flesh, not just when they are looking, as people-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord.

⁹ Exhort servants to be in subjection to their own masters, and to be well-pleasing in all things; not contradicting;

²⁸ Then Jesus answered her, "Woman, great is your faith. Be it done to you even as you desire." And her daughter was healed from that hour.

⁶ And he was amazed because of their unbelief. And he went around the villages teaching.

²⁰ Seeing their faith, he said, "Man, your sins are forgiven you."

⁹ When Jesus heard these things, he was amazed at him, and turned and said to the crowd who followed him, "I tell you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel."

⁵⁰ He said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace."

³ And I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who treat you with contempt, and through you all the families of the earth will be blessed."

¹⁸ And through your offspring all the nations of the earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice."

¹⁴ Your descendants will be as the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south. And through you and through your descendants will all the families of the earth be blessed.

¹⁰ The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the rulerʼs staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs. And it is he whom the peoples will obey.

²⁷ Every part of the earth shall remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you.

³ He has remembered his loving kindness and his faithfulness toward the house of Israel. Every part of the earth has seen the salvation of our God.

² It shall happen in the latter days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be raised above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. ³ And many peoples shall come and say, "Come, let's go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths." For out of Zion the law shall go forth, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

¹⁰ And in that day there will be a root of Jesse, one who stands up to rule over the peoples; to him will the nations seek, and his resting place will be glorious.

⁶ And he says, "It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel; I will also give you as a light to the nations, that you may bring salvation to the farthest part of the earth."

¹² Look, these shall come from far; and look, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Syene."

¹⁰ The LORD has made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and every part of the earth has seen the salvation of our God.

¹⁹ So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he will come as a rushing stream, which the breath of the LORD drives.

¹ "Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. ² For, look, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you. ³ Nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. ⁴ "Lift up your eyes all around, and see: they all gather themselves together, they come to you; your sons shall come from far, and your daughters shall be carried in the arms. ⁵ Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you. ⁶ The multitude of camels shall cover you, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come; they shall bring gold and frankincense, and shall proclaim the praises of the LORD.

¹⁹ "LORD, my strength, and my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of affliction, to you shall the nations come from the farthest parts of the earth, and shall say, 'Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, vanity and things in which there is no profit.

⁴⁴ In the days of those kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed, nor shall its sovereignty be left to another people; but it shall break in pieces and consume all those kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

¹ But in the latter days, it will happen that the mountain of the LORD's temple will be established on the top of the mountains, and it will be exalted above the hills; and peoples will stream to it. ² Many nations will go and say, "Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths." For out of Zion will go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem;

²⁰ Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Many peoples and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come; ²¹ and the inhabitants of one shall go to another, saying, 'Let us go speedily to entreat the favor of the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts. I will go also.' ²² Yes, many peoples and strong nations will come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to entreat the favor of the LORD." ²³ Thus says the LORD of hosts: "In those days, ten men will take hold, out of all the languages of the nations, they will take hold of the skirt of him who is a Jew, saying, 'We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.'"

¹¹ For from the rising of the sun even to the going down of the same, my name is great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering: for my name is great among the nations," says the LORD of hosts.

² and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."

³¹ He will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

³⁷ Blessed are those servants, whom the lord will find watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, that he will dress himself, and make them recline, and will come and serve them.

²⁸ There will be weeping and grinding of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets, in the Kingdom of God, and yourselves being thrown outside. ²⁹ They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in the Kingdom of God.

²³ "The lord said to the servant, 'Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. ²⁴ For I tell you that none of those individuals who were invited will taste of my supper.'"

²² It happened that the beggar died, and that he was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried.

⁴⁵ They of the circumcision who believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was also poured out on the non-Jewish people.

¹⁸ When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, "Then God has also granted to the non-Jews repentance to life."

²² confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many afflictions we must enter into the Kingdom of God.

²⁷ When they had arrived, and had gathered the church together, they reported all the things that God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith to the nations.

⁹ and that the non-Jews might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, "therefore I will give praise to you among the non-Jews, and sing to your name." ¹⁰ Again he says, "Rejoice, you nations, with his people." ¹¹ Again, "Praise the Lord, all you nations. Let all the peoples praise him." ¹² Again, Isaiah says, "There will be the root of Jesse, he who arises to rule over the peoples; in him will the nations hope." ¹³ Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

⁹ Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor men who have sexual relations with men,

²⁰ But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep.

²⁸ There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. ²⁹ If you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring and heirs according to promise.

¹¹ Therefore remember that once you, the non-Jews in the flesh, who are called "uncircumcision" by that which is called "circumcision," (in the flesh, made by hands); ¹² that you were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world. ¹³ But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. ¹⁴ For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition,

⁶ that the non-Jews are fellow heirs, and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the Good News,

⁵ This is an obvious sign of the righteous judgment of God, to the end that you may be counted worthy of the Kingdom of God, for which you also suffer.

²⁰ Look, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me. ²¹ He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne.

⁶ of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand, of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand, of the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand,

⁹ and do not think to yourselves, 'We have Abraham for our father,' for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. ¹⁰ "Even now the axe lies at the root of the trees. Therefore, every tree that does not bring forth good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire.

²² Many will tell me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, did not we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?' ²³ And then I will tell them, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.'

³⁸ and the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the children of the Kingdom; and the tares are the children of the evil one,

⁴² and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and the grinding of teeth.

⁴³ "Therefore I tell you, the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you, and will be given to a nation bringing forth its fruit.

¹² and he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?' He was speechless. ¹³ Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness; there is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.'

⁵¹ and will cut him in pieces, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites. There is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.

³⁰ Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and grinding of teeth.'

²⁸ There will be weeping and grinding of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets, in the Kingdom of God, and yourselves being thrown outside.

²⁵ You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, 'And through your offspring all the families of the earth will be blessed.'

⁴ who are Israelites; whose is the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service, and the promises;

⁴ For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them down to the lower parts of hell, and committed them to chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;

¹⁷ These are wells without water, and mists driven by a storm; for whom the blackness of darkness has been reserved.

¹³ wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the blackness of darkness has been reserved forever.

⁷ Go your way—eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God has already accepted your works.

⁴ And Jesus said to him, "See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."

²² But Jesus, turning around and seeing her, said, "Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour.

²⁹ Then he touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you." ³⁰ And their eyes were opened. And Jesus strictly commanded them, saying, "See that no one knows about this."

²⁰ So he said to them, "Because of your little faith. For truly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you."

²⁹ He said to her, "For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter."

²³ Jesus said to him, "'If you can?' All things are possible to him who believes."

⁵⁰ Jesus said to him, "Go your way. Your son lives." The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.

⁵² So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. They said therefore to him, "Yesterday at one in the afternoon, the fever left him." ⁵³ So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, "Your son lives." He believed, as did his whole house.

²⁰ And Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head."

²⁵ He said, "Yes." When he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, "What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their children, or from strangers?"

²⁹ And Immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. ³⁰ Now Simon's mother-in-law was sick in bed with a fever, and immediately they told him about her. ³¹ And he came and took her by the hand, and raised her up. The fever left her, and she served them. ³² At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all who were sick, and those who were possessed by demons. ³³ And all the city was gathered together at the door. ³⁴ And he healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew him.

³⁸ He rose up from the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they appealed to him about her. ³⁹ He stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them. ⁴⁰ When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them. ⁴¹ Demons also came out from many, crying out, and saying, "You are the Son of God." But he rebuked them and did not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.

⁵ Have we no right to take along a wife who is a believer, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?

² The overseer, therefore, must be beyond criticism, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching;

³ forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

⁴ Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.

²¹ It happened, as they were burying a man, that look, they spied a band; and they cast the man into the tomb of Elisha: and as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

⁷ He touched my mouth with it, and said, "Look, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away, and your sins forgiven."

²⁰ And look, a woman who had an issue of blood for twelve years came behind him, and touched the fringe of his garment;

²⁹ Then he touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you."

³⁶ and they begged him that they might just touch the fringe of his garment. And all who touched it were healed.

³⁴ Jesus, being moved with compassion, touched their eyes; and immediately their eyes received their sight, and they followed him.

³⁸ He rose up from the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they appealed to him about her. ³⁹ He stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them.

⁵⁴ But he, taking her by the hand, called, saying, "Child, arise."

¹ Then six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus raised from the dead. ² So they prepared a dinner for him there; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those reclining at the table with him. ³ Mary, therefore, took a pound of ointment of pure nard, very precious, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.

¹¹ God worked special miracles by the hands of Paul, ¹² so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were carried away from his body to the sick, and the evil spirits went out. ¹³ But some of the itinerant Jews, exorcists, took on themselves to invoke over those who had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, "I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches."

²⁶ and he said, "If you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD your God, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am the LORD who heals you.

²³ And Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people. ²⁴ And the report about him went out into all Syria, and they brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, and epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them.

³³ And those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons.

²² Then one possessed by a demon, blind and mute, was brought to him and he healed him, so that the mute man spoke and saw.

¹⁴ And he went out, and he saw a large crowd, and he had compassion on them, and healed their sick.

³ And four people came, carrying a paralytic to him.

⁸ For he had been saying to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit."

⁴⁰ When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

¹⁵ They even carried out the sick into the streets, and put them on cots and mats, so that as Peter came by at the least his shadow would fall on some of them.

¹³ But some of the itinerant Jews, exorcists, took on themselves to invoke over those who had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, "I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches." ¹⁴ There were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did this. ¹⁵ The evil spirit answered, "Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you?" ¹⁶ And the man in whom the evil spirit was, having leapt on them, having overpowered them all, prevailed against them so that they fled from that house naked and wounded.

⁴ Surely he bore our diseases, and took our pains; yet we considered him stricken, and struck down by God, and afflicted.

²² Now all this has happened, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,

¹⁵ and was there until the death of Herod; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, "Out of Egypt I called my son."

²³ and came and lived in a city called Nazareth; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets, that he will be called a Nazorean. ²⁴ who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose wounds you were healed.

¹ And when he came down from the mountain, large crowds followed him.

²² And immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and to go ahead of him to the other side, while he sent the crowds away.

³⁵ And early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there. ³⁶ And Simon and those who were with him followed after him; ³⁷ and they found him, and told him, "Everyone is looking for you." ³⁸ And he said to them, "Let us go somewhere else into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because I came out for this reason."

³⁵ And on that day, when evening had come, he said to them, "Let us go over to the other side."

²¹ And when Jesus had crossed back over in the boat to the other side, a large crowd was gathered to him; and he was by the sea.

⁴⁵ And immediately he made his disciples get into the boat, and to go ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he himself was sending the crowd away.

¹³ And he left them, and got into the boat again, and went to the other side.

⁴² When it was day, he departed and went into an uninhabited place, and the crowds looked for him, and came to him, and held on to him, so that he would not go away from them. ⁴³ But he said to them, "I must proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God to the other cities also. For this reason I have been sent."

²² Now it happened on one of those days, that he entered into a boat, himself and his disciples, and he said to them, "Let us go over to the other side of the lake." So they launched out.

¹⁵ Jesus therefore, perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force, to make him king, withdrew again to the mountain by himself.

⁶ this Ezra went up from Babylon: and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD, the God of Israel, had given; and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God on him.

³² The scribe said to him, "Truly, Teacher, you have said well that he is one, and there is none other but he, ³³ and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices." ³⁴ When Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the Kingdom of God." No one dared ask him any question after that.

⁵⁷ As they went on the way, a certain man said to him, "I want to follow you wherever you go." ⁵⁸ And Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head." ⁵⁹ He said to another, "Follow me." But he said, "Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father." ⁶⁰ But Jesus said to him, "Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but you go and announce the Kingdom of God."

³³ So therefore whoever of you who does not renounce all that he has, he cannot be my disciple.

³³ He said to him, "Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death." ³⁴ He said, "I tell you, Peter, the rooster will by no means crow today until you deny that you know me three times."

³⁶ Simon Peter said to him, "Lord, where are you going?" Jesus answered, "Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow afterwards." ³⁷ Peter said to him, "Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you." ³⁸ Jesus answered him, "Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, truly, I tell you, the rooster won't crow until you have denied me three times.

²⁰ Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Hasn't God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

¹⁷ But I am poor and needy. May the Lord think about me. You are my help and my deliverer. Do not delay, my God.

²⁹ But I am in pain and distress. Let your salvation, God, protect me.

³ Yes, the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young, near your altars, LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.

¹⁷ where the birds make their nests. The stork makes its home in the fir trees.

²² for I am poor and needy. My heart is wounded within me.

² For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nor special appearance that we should desire him. ³ He was despised, and rejected by people; a man of sorrows, and familiar with illness; and as one from whom people hide their face. He was despised, and we did not value him.

¹³ I saw in the night visions, and look, there came with the clouds of the sky one like a son of man, and he came even to the Ancient of Days, and they brought him near before him.

⁸ For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."

³² And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this age, nor in that which is to come.

⁴⁰ For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

¹³ Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"

²⁷ For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to everyone according to his deeds.

²⁸ Jesus said to them, "Truly I tell you that you who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on the throne of his glory, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

⁷ And she gave birth to her firstborn son, and wrapped him with pieces of cloth, and placed him in a feeding trough, because there was no guest room available for them.

¹² This is the sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth, lying in a feeding trough."

¹⁶ They came with haste, and found both Mary and Joseph, and the baby was lying in the feeding trough.

³ and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward; Susanna; and many others; who provided for them from their possessions.

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich.

¹¹ neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother; ¹² neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him. I am the LORD.

⁶ "All the days that he separates himself to the LORD he shall not go near a dead body. ⁷ He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die; because his separation to God is on his head.

⁹ who said of his father, and of his mother, 'I have not seen him;' Neither did he acknowledge his brothers, Nor did he know his own children: For they have observed your word, and keep your covenant. ¹⁰ They shall teach Jacob your ordinances, and Israel your law. They shall put incense before you, and whole burnt offering on your altar.

²⁰ He left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, "Let me please kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you." He said to him, "Go back again; for what have I done to you?" ²¹ He returned from following him, and took the yoke of oxen, and killed them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave to the people, and they ate. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and served him.

² "This is what the LORD of hosts says: These people say, 'The time hasn't yet come, the time for the LORD's house to be built.'"

²⁹ Everyone who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, will receive one hundred times, and will inherit everlasting life.

⁵⁹ He said to another, "Follow me." But he said, "Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father." ⁶⁰ But Jesus said to him, "Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but you go and announce the Kingdom of God." ⁶¹ Another also said, "I want to follow you, Lord, but first allow me to bid farewell to those who are at my house." ⁶² But Jesus said to him, "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God."

¹⁶ Therefore we know no one after the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we no longer know him in this way.

¹⁸ And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. ¹⁹ And he said to them, "Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of people." ²⁰ And they immediately left their nets and followed him. ²¹ Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. ²² And they immediately left the boat and their father, and followed him.

⁹ And as Jesus passed by from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax collection office. He said to him, "Follow me." And he got up and followed him.

³² But it was appropriate to celebrate and be glad, for this brother of yours was dead and is alive; and he was lost, and is found.'"

⁴³ On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee, and he found Philip. And Jesus said to him, "Follow me."

¹ You were made alive when you were dead in your transgressions and sins,

⁵ even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

¹⁴ Therefore he says, "Awake, you who sleep, and rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."

¹³ You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,

⁶ But she who gives herself to pleasure is dead while she lives.

³⁶ And leaving the crowd, they took him with them, even as he was, in the boat. And other boats were with him. ³⁷ And a big wind storm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so much that the boat was already filled. ³⁸ And he himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion, and they woke him up, and told him, "Teacher, do you not care that we are dying?"

²² Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John the things which you have seen and heard: that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.

²² Now it happened on one of those days, that he entered into a boat, himself and his disciples, and he said to them, "Let us go over to the other side of the lake." So they launched out. ²³ But as they sailed, he fell asleep. A wind storm came down on the lake, and they were taking on dangerous amounts of water. ²⁴ So they came to him, and awoke him, saying, "Master, master, we are dying." And he awoke, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, and they ceased, and it was calm. ²⁵ He said to them, "Where is your faith?" But they were terrified and astonished, saying to one another, "Who is this, then, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him?"

²³ Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do business in great waters; ²⁴ These see the LORD's works, and his wonders in the deep. ²⁵ For he commands, and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up its waves. ²⁶ They mount up to the sky; they go down again to the depths. Their soul melts away because of trouble. ²⁷ They reel back and forth, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end.

¹¹ "You afflicted, tossed with storms, and not comforted, look, I will set your stones in beautiful colors, and lay your foundations with sapphires.

⁴ But the LORD sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty storm on the sea, so that the ship was likely to break up. ⁵ Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man to his god. They threw the cargo that was in the ship into the sea, to lighten it. But Jonah had gone down into the innermost parts of the ship, and he was laying down, and was fast asleep.

³⁷ And a big wind storm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so much that the boat was already filled. ³⁸ And he himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion, and they woke him up, and told him, "Teacher, do you not care that we are dying?"

²³ But as they sailed, he fell asleep. A wind storm came down on the lake, and they were taking on dangerous amounts of water.

¹⁷ and they entered into the boat, and were going over the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. ¹⁸ The sea was tossed by a great wind blowing.

⁵ Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. ⁶ When therefore he heard that he was sick, he stayed two days in the place where he was.

¹⁵ I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, so that you may believe. Nevertheless, let us go to him."

¹⁴ But before long, a stormy wind beat down from shore, which is called Euraquilo. ¹⁵ When the ship was caught, and could not face the wind, we gave way to it, and were driven along. ¹⁶ Running under the lee of a small island called Cauda, we were able, with difficulty, to secure the boat. ¹⁷ After they had hoisted it up, they used cables to help reinforce the ship. Fearing that they would run aground on the Syrtis, they lowered the sea anchor, and so were driven along. ¹⁸ As we labored exceedingly with the storm, the next day they began to throw things overboard. ¹⁹ On the third day, they threw out the ship's tackle with their own hands. ²⁰ When neither sun nor stars shone on us for many days, and no small storm pressed on us, all hope that we would be saved was now taken away. ²¹ When they had been long without food, Paul stood up in the middle of them, and said, "Sirs, you should have listened to me, and not have set sail from Crete, and have gotten this injury and loss. ²² Now I exhort you to cheer up, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship. ²³ For there stood by me this night an angel, belonging to the God whose I am and whom I serve, ²⁴ saying, 'Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand before Caesar. And look, God has granted you all those who sail with you.' ²⁵ Therefore, sirs, cheer up. For I believe God, that it will be just as it has been spoken to me. ²⁶ But we must run aground on a certain island." ²⁷ But when the fourteenth night had come, as we were driven back and forth in the Adriatic Sea, about midnight the sailors surmised that they were drawing near to some land. ²⁸ They took soundings, and found twenty fathoms. After a little while, they took soundings again, and found fifteen fathoms. ²⁹ Fearing that we would run aground on rocky ground, they let go four anchors from the stern, and wished for daylight. ³⁰ As the sailors were trying to flee out of the ship, and had lowered the boat into the sea, pretending that they would lay out anchors from the bow, ³¹ Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, "Unless these stay in the ship, you cannot be saved." ³² Then the soldiers cut away the ropes of the boat, and let it fall off. ³³ While the day was coming on, Paul urged them all to take some food, saying, "This day is the fourteenth day that you wait and continue fasting, having taken nothing. ³⁴ Therefore I urge you to take some food, for this is for your preservation; for not a hair will perish from any of your heads." ³⁵ When he had said this, and had taken bread, he gave thanks to God in the presence of all, and he broke it, and began to eat. ³⁶ Then they all cheered up, and they also took food. ³⁷ In all, we were two hundred seventy-six souls on the ship. ³⁸ When they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, throwing out the wheat into the sea.

²⁵ Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I suffered shipwreck. I have been a night and a day in the deep. ²⁶ I have been in travels often, perils of rivers, perils of robbers, perils from my countrymen, perils from those who are not Jews, perils in the city, perils in the wilderness, perils in the sea, perils among false brothers;

¹¹ Asa cried to the LORD his God, and said, "LORD, there is none besides you to help, between the mighty and those who have no strength. Help us, LORD our God; for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this multitude. LORD, you are our God. Do not let man prevail against you."

¹² Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no might against this great company that comes against us; neither know we what to do, but our eyes are on you."

¹ Why do you stand far off, LORD? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?

²² For your sake we are killed all day long. We are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered. ²³ Wake up. Why do you sleep, Lord? Arise. Do not reject us forever.

⁹ Awake, awake, put on strength, arm of the LORD; awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Isn't it you who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the monster? ¹⁰ Isn't it you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep; who made the depths of the sea a way for the redeemed to pass over?

⁶ So the shipmaster came to him, and said to him, "What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God. Maybe your God will notice us, so that we won't perish."

³⁸ And he himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion, and they woke him up, and told him, "Teacher, do you not care that we are dying?" ³⁹ And he awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace. Be still." And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

²⁴ So they came to him, and awoke him, saying, "Master, master, we are dying." And he awoke, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, and they ceased, and it was calm.

⁸ "Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke forth from the womb, ⁹ when I made clouds its garment, and wrapped it in thick darkness, ¹⁰ marked out for it my bound, set bars and doors, ¹¹ and said, 'Here you may come, but no further. Here your proud waves shall be stayed?'

⁷ who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations.

⁹ You rule the pride of the sea. When its waves rise up, you calm them.

³ The floods have lifted up, LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice. The floods lift up their waves. ⁴ More majestic than the sounds of many waters, more majestic than the breakers of the sea, the LORD on high is majestic.

⁶ You covered it with the deep as with a cloak. The waters stood above the mountains. ⁷ At your rebuke they fled. At the voice of your thunder they hurried away. ⁸ The mountains rose, the valleys sank down, to the place which you had assigned to them. ⁹ You have set a boundary that they may not pass over; that they do not turn again to cover the earth.

²⁸ Then they cry to the LORD in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distress. ²⁹ He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still. ³⁰ Then they are glad because it is calm, so he brings them to their desired haven.

³ The sea saw it, and fled. The Jordan was driven back. ⁴ The mountains skipped like rams, the little hills like lambs. ⁵ What was it, you sea, that you fled? You Jordan, that you turned back? ⁶ You mountains, that you skipped like rams; you little hills, like lambs? ⁷ Tremble, you earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,

²⁸ when he established the clouds above, when the springs of the deep became strong, ²⁹ when he gave to the sea its boundary, that the waters should not violate his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth;

¹⁰ Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. ¹¹ Look, all those who are incensed against you will be disappointed and confounded. Those who strive with you will be like nothing, and shall perish. ¹² You will seek them, and won't find them, even those who contend with you. Those who war against you will be as nothing, as a non-existent thing. ¹³ For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Do not be afraid. I will help you.' ¹⁴ Do not be afraid, you worm Jacob, and you men of Israel. I will help you," says the LORD, "and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

² Why, when I came, was there no man? When I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it can't redeem? or have I no power to deliver? Look, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stink, because there is no water, and die for thirst. ³ I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering." ⁴ The LORD has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him who is weary: he wakens morning by morning, he wakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.

¹² who caused his glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses? who divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name?

⁴ He rebukes the sea, and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers. Bashan languishes, and Carmel; and the flower of Lebanon languishes.

⁸ Was the LORD displeased with the rivers? Was your anger against the rivers, or your wrath against the sea, that you rode on your horses, on your chariots of salvation?

³⁰ But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won't he much more clothe you, you of little faith?

²⁷ And the men were amazed, saying, "What kind of person is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"

³⁰ But when he saw the strong wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he yelled, saying, "Lord, save me." ³¹ Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?"

⁸ But Jesus, becoming aware of this, said, "You of little faith, why are you discussing among yourselves about having no bread?

⁴⁸ He saw them distressed in rowing, for the wind was against them. In the watch between three and six in the morning he came to them, walking on the sea, and he would have passed by them, ⁴⁹ but they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was a ghost, and began to scream; ⁵⁰ for they all saw him, and were troubled. But he immediately spoke with them, and said to them, "Cheer up. It is I. Do not be afraid." ⁵¹ And he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were completely profusely astonished among themselves;

²⁰ Yet, looking to the promise of God, he did not waver through unbelief, but grew strong through faith, giving glory to God,

² He had in his hand a little open scroll. He set his right foot on the sea, and his left on the land.

³¹ So the crowd was amazed when they saw the mute speaking, crippled healthy, lame walking, and blind seeing—and they glorified the God of Israel.

²⁷ And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, "What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him."

⁵¹ And he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were completely profusely astonished among themselves;

³⁷ They were astonished beyond measure, saying, "He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear, and the mute speak."

¹⁶ and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, and the Girgashites,

²¹ the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Hivites, the Girgashites, and the Jebusites."

¹ When the LORD your God shall bring you into the land where you go to possess it, and shall cast out many nations before you, the Hethite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, seven nations greater and mightier than you;

⁶ "In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied. The travelers walked through byways.

¹ And they came to the other side of the sea, into the territory of the Gerasenes. ² And when he had come out of the boat, immediately a man with an unclean spirit met him out of the tombs. ³ He lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him any more, not even with a chain. ⁴ For he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the fetters broken in pieces. No one had the strength to tame him. ⁵ And always, night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying out, and cutting himself with stones. ⁶ And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed down to him, ⁷ and crying out with a loud voice, he said, "What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me." ⁸ For he had been saying to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit." ⁹ And then he asked him, "What is your name?" And he replied, "My name is Legion, for we are many." ¹⁰ And he pleaded with Jesus repeatedly not to send them away out of the region. ¹¹ Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding. ¹² And they begged him, saying, "Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them." ¹³ And he gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs; and the herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea. ¹⁴ And those who fed them fled, and told it in the city and in the country. And the people went to see what it was that had happened. ¹⁵ And they came to Jesus, and saw him who had been possessed by demons sitting, clothed and in his right mind, even him who had the legion; and they were afraid. ¹⁶ And those who saw it declared to them how it happened to him who was possessed by demons, and about the pigs. ¹⁷ And then they began to plead with Jesus to leave their region. ¹⁸ As he was entering into the boat, he who had been possessed by demons pleaded with him that he might be with him. ¹⁹ However, Jesus did not allow him, but said to him, "Go to your house, to your own, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how he had mercy on you." ²⁰ So he went his way, and began to proclaim in Decapolis how Jesus had done great things for him, and everyone was amazed.

²⁶ They arrived at the country of the Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee. ²⁷ And when he came out onto the land he was met by a certain man from the town who had demons. For a long time he had worn no clothes, and did not live in a house, but in the tombs. ²⁸ When he saw Jesus, he shouted, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, "What do I have to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me." ²⁹ For Jesus was commanding the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For the unclean spirit had often seized the man. He was kept under guard, and bound with chains and fetters. Breaking the bands apart, he was driven by the demon into the desert. ³⁰ Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" He said, "Legion," for many demons had entered into him. ³¹ They pleaded with him that he would not command them to go into the abyss. ³² Now there was there a herd of many pigs feeding on the mountain, and they begged him that he would allow them to enter into those. He allowed them. ³³ The demons came out from the man, and entered into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake, and were drowned. ³⁴ When those who fed them saw what had happened, they fled, and told it in the city and in the country. ³⁵ Then people went out to see what had happened. They came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus' feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. ³⁶ Those who saw it told them how he who had been possessed by demons was healed. ³⁷ All the people of the surrounding region of the Geresenes asked him to leave them, for they were very much afraid; and he entered into the boat and returned. ³⁸ But the man from whom the demons had gone out begged him that he might go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, ³⁹ "Return to your house, and declare what great things God has done for you." He went his way, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.

³⁸ even Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

¹² Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the people of Ammon, saying, "What have you to do with me, that you have come to me to fight against my land?"

¹⁰ The king said, "What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? Because he curses, and because the LORD has said to him, 'Curse David;' who then shall say, 'Why have you done so?'"

²² David said, "What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah, that you should this day be adversaries to me? Shall there any man be put to death this day in Israel? For do you not realize that I am this day king over Israel?"

¹⁸ And she said to Elijah, "What do we have in common, O man of God? You have come to me to bring my sin to memory, and to kill my son."

⁴ "Yes, and what are you to me, Tyre, and Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? Will you repay me? And if you repay me, I will swiftly and speedily return your repayment on your own head.

³ And the tempter came and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread."

²⁴ saying, "What do we have to do with you, Jesus, Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God."

¹¹ And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, fell down before him, and shouted, saying, "You are the Son of God."

⁷ and crying out with a loud voice, he said, "What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me."

³⁴ saying, "Ah. What have we to do with you, Jesus, Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are — the Holy One of God."

⁴¹ Demons also came out from many, crying out, and saying, "You are the Son of God." But he rebuked them and did not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.

²⁸ When he saw Jesus, he shouted, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, "What do I have to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me."

⁴ Jesus said to her, "Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come."

¹⁷ She followed Paul and us, shouting, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation."

¹⁹ You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder.

⁶ Angels who did not keep their first domain, but deserted their own dwelling place, he has kept in everlasting bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day.

⁷ The pig, because he has a split hoof, and is cloven-footed, but doesn't chew the cud, he is unclean to you.

³ He who slaughters an ox is like one who strikes down a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, as he who breaks a dog's neck; he who offers an offering, as he who offers pig's blood; he who burns frankincense, as he who blesses an idol. Yes, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations:

¹¹ Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding.

³² Now there was there a herd of many pigs feeding on the mountain, and they begged him that he would allow them to enter into those. He allowed them.

¹⁵ He went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed pigs. ¹⁶ And he wanted to fill himself with the carob pods that the pigs ate, but no one gave him any.

¹² And they begged him, saying, "Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them."

³⁰ Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" ¹² Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the land and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time."

¹ I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. ² He seized the serpent, the ancient snake, which is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years,

²² The LORD said to him, 'How?' He said, 'I will go out and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.' He said, 'You will entice him, and will also prevail. Go out and do so.'

¹⁰ Haven't you made a hedge around him, and around his household, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his livestock have increased in the land. ¹¹ But put forth your hand now, and strike all that he has, and he will curse you to your face." ¹² The LORD said to Satan, "Look, all that he has is in your power. Only do not put forth your hand on him." So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD. ¹³ Now the day came when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house, ¹⁴ that there came a messenger to Job, and said, "The oxen were plowing, and the donkeys grazing beside them, ¹⁵ and Sheba attacked, and took them away. Yes, they have killed the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you." ¹⁶ While he was still speaking, there also came another, and said, "The fire of God has fallen from the sky, and has burned up the sheep and the young men, and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you." ¹⁷ While he was still speaking, there came also another, and said, "The Kasdim made three bands, and swept down on the camels, and have taken them away, and killed the young men with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you." ¹⁸ While he was still speaking, there came also another, and said, "Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house, ¹⁹ and look, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young men, and they are dead. I alone have escaped to tell you."

³ The LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? For there is none like him in the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one who fears God, and turns away from evil. And he still holds firmly to his integrity, although you incited me against him, to ruin him without cause." ⁴ Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, "Skin for skin. Indeed, all that a man has he will give for his life. ⁵ But put forth your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face." ⁶ The LORD said to Satan, "Look, he is in your power. Only preserve his life." ⁷ So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD, and struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the top of his head. ⁸ And he took for himself a potsherd to scrape himself with while he sat among the ashes.

²³ him, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed;

²⁸ to do whatever your hand and your council foreordained to happen.

⁷ And after the thousand years, Satan will be released from his prison,

¹⁴ And those who fed them fled, and told it in the city and in the country. And the people went to see what it was that had happened. ¹⁵ And they came to Jesus, and saw him who had been possessed by demons sitting, clothed and in his right mind, even him who had the legion; and they were afraid. ¹⁶ And those who saw it declared to them how it happened to him who was possessed by demons, and about the pigs.

³⁴ When those who fed them saw what had happened, they fled, and told it in the city and in the country. ³⁵ Then people went out to see what had happened. They came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus' feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. ³⁶ Those who saw it told them how he who had been possessed by demons was healed.

¹⁵ The evil spirit answered, "Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you?" ¹⁶ And the man in whom the evil spirit was, having leapt on them, having overpowered them all, prevailed against them so that they fled from that house naked and wounded. ¹⁷ This became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, who lived at Ephesus. Fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

²⁵ Now therefore why should we die? For this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.

⁴ And Samuel did what the LORD said, and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the city came to meet him trembling. And they said, "Is your visit peaceful, seer?"

¹⁷ It happened, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, "Is that you, you troubler of Israel?"

¹⁴ They tell God, 'Depart from us, for we do not want to know about your ways.

¹⁷ who said to God, 'Depart from us;' and, 'What can Shaddai do for us?'

²⁹ And look, they shouted, saying, "What do we have to do with you, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?"

¹⁷ And then they began to plead with Jesus to leave their region. ¹⁸ As he was entering into the boat, he who had been possessed by demons pleaded with him that he might be with him.

³⁹ and they came and apologized to them. When they had brought them out, they asked them to depart from the city.
