²¹ Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

¹ "Hear this, house of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel, and have come forth out of the waters of Judah; who swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness ² (for they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves on the God of Israel; the LORD of hosts is his name):

² They cry to me, 'My God, we Israel acknowledge you.' ³ Israel has cast off that which is good. The enemy will pursue him.

³² Everyone therefore who confesses me before people, him I will also confess before my Father who is in heaven. ³³ But whoever denies me before people, him I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven.

⁵⁰ For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother."

¹⁷ And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.

³ and said, "Truly I tell you, unless you turn, and become as little children, you will in no way enter into the kingdom of heaven.

¹⁰ See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

¹⁹ Again, truly I tell you, that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven.

³⁵ So my heavenly Father will also do to you, if you do not each forgive your brother his trespasses from your heart."

²⁴ Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich person to enter into the Kingdom of God."

²⁹ He answered, 'I will not,' but afterward he changed his mind, and went. ³⁰ And he came to the other, and said the same thing. And he answered and said, 'I go, sir,' but he did not go. ³¹ Which of the two did the will of his father?" They said, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Truly I tell you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering into the Kingdom of God before you.

¹¹ Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us.' ¹² But he answered, 'Truly I tell you, I do not know you.'

²¹ "His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'

³⁹ He went forward a little, fell on his face, and prayed, saying, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire."

⁴² Again, a second time he went away, and prayed, saying, "My Father, if this cannot pass away unless I drink it, your desire be done."

³⁵ For whoever does the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother."

⁴⁷ If your eye causes you to stumble, cast it out.[note: Hyperbole, or Semitic idiom, meaning to stop doing a sin] It is better for you to enter into the Kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell,

²³ Jesus looked around, and said to his disciples, "How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of God." ²⁴ The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, "Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God.

⁴⁶ "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say?

²⁸ But he said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it."

²⁵ When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, saying, 'Lord, open to us.' then he will answer and tell you, 'I do not know you or where you come from.'

²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle's eye, than for a rich person to enter into the Kingdom of God."

⁵ Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I tell you, unless one is born of water and Spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.

¹⁷ But he answered them, "My Father is still working, so I am working, too."

⁴⁰ This is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes in him, should have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

¹⁷ If anyone desires to do his will, he will know about the teaching, whether it is from God, or if I am speaking from myself.

²⁹ My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. ³⁰ I and the Father are one."

⁷ If you know me, you will know my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him."

²³ He who hates me hates my Father also.

²² confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many afflictions we must enter into the Kingdom of God.

¹³ But some of the itinerant Jews, exorcists, took on themselves to invoke over those who had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, "I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches." ¹⁴ There were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did this. ¹⁵ The evil spirit answered, "Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you?" ¹⁶ And the man in whom the evil spirit was, having leapt on them, having overpowered them all, prevailed against them so that they fled from that house naked and wounded. ¹⁷ This became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, who lived at Ephesus. Fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. ¹⁸ Many also of those who had believed came, confessing, and declaring their deeds. ¹⁹ Many of those who practiced magical arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. They counted the price of them, and found it to be fifty thousand pieces of silver. ²⁰ So the word of the Lord was growing and becoming mighty.

¹³ For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be justified.

² And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.

⁶ not in the way of service only when eyes are on you, as people-pleasers; but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

¹² Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, salutes you, always striving for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.

³ For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality,

¹⁸ In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.

¹⁶ They profess that they know God, but by their works they deny him, being abominable, disobedient, and unfit for any good work.

⁶ Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and they to whom the good news was before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience,

²¹ make you complete in every good thing to do his will, working in us that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever. Amen.

²² But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.

²⁰ But do you want to know, foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? ²¹ Wasn't Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? ²² You see that faith worked with his works, and by works faith was perfected; ²³ and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "And Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness;" and he was called the friend of God. ²⁴ You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. ²⁵ In like manner was not Rahab the prostitute also justified by works, in that she received the messengers, and sent them out another way? ²⁶ For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.

¹⁵ For this is the will of God, that by well-doing you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people:

² that you no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh for human desires, but for the will of God.

²¹ Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God; ²² and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight. ²³ This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded us. ²⁴ He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.

²⁷ He will rule them with an iron scepter, shattering them like clay pots; as I also have received of my Father:

⁵ He who overcomes will be arrayed in white garments, and I will in no way blot his name out of the Book of Life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

¹⁴ Blessed are they who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.
