¹ For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,

¹⁸ Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; now he was priest of God Most High. ¹⁹ He blessed him, and said, "Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Maker of heaven and earth: ²⁰ and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand." And he gave him a tenth of everything.

¹⁴ Therefore the well was called Beer Lahai Roi. Look, it is between Kadesh and Bered. ¹⁵ Hagar bore a son for Abram. Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael. ¹⁶ Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abram.

² I cry out to God Most High, to God who accomplishes my requests for me.

² And his abode is in Salem, and his lair in Zion.

³⁵ They remembered that God was their rock, the Most High God, their redeemer.

⁵⁶ Yet they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God, and did not keep his testimonies;

² Who has raised up one from the east? Whom he called to his foot in righteousness? He hands over nations to him, and makes him rule over kings. He gives them like the dust to his sword, like the driven stubble to his bow. ³ He pursues them, and passes by safely, Even by a way that he had not gone with his feet.

² It has seemed good to me to show the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked toward me.

¹⁸ You king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father the kingdom, and greatness, and glory, and majesty.

²¹ And he was driven from the sons of men, and his mind was made like the animals', and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. He was fed with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the sky; until he knew that the Most High God rules in the kingdom of men, and that he sets up over it whomever he wants.

⁶ How shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?

⁷ and crying out with a loud voice, he said, "What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me."

¹⁷ She followed Paul and us, shouting, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation."

²⁰ where as a forerunner Jesus entered for us, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.
