¹ Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon, our beloved fellow worker, ² and to Apphia our sister, to Archippus, our fellow soldier, and to the church in your house: ³ Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. ⁴ I thank my God always, making mention of you in my prayers, ⁵ hearing of your love, and of the faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all the saints; ⁶ that the fellowship of your faith may become effective, in the knowledge of every good thing which is in you in Christ. ⁷ For I have much joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother. ⁸ Therefore, though I have all boldness in Christ to command you that which is appropriate, ⁹ yet on the basis of love I rather appeal, being such a one as Paul, the aged, but also a prisoner of Christ Jesus. ¹⁰ I appeal to you for my child, whom I have become the father of in my chains, Onesimus, ¹¹ who once was useless to you, but now is useful to you and to me. ¹² I am sending back to you, him who is my very heart, ¹³ whom I desired to keep with me, that on your behalf he might serve me in my chains for the Good News. ¹⁴ But I was willing to do nothing without your consent, that your goodness would not be as of necessity, but of free will. ¹⁵ For perhaps he was therefore separated from you for a while, that you would have him forever, ¹⁶ no longer as a slave, but more than a slave, a beloved brother, especially to me, but how much rather to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord. ¹⁷ If then you count me a partner, receive him as you would receive me. ¹⁸ But if he has wronged you at all, or owes you anything, put that to my account. ¹⁹ I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it (not to mention to you that you owe to me even your own self besides). ²⁰ Yes, brother, let me have joy from you in the Lord. Refresh my heart in Christ. ²¹ Having confidence in your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even beyond what I say. ²² Also, prepare a guest room for me, for I hope that through your prayers I will be restored to you. ²³ Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, greets you, ²⁴ as do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my fellow workers. ²⁵ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.

⁹ For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building.

¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:

¹ For this cause I, Paul, am the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you the non-Jews,

¹ I therefore, a prisoner in the Lord, urge you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called,

²⁰ for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

²⁵ But I counted it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, fellow soldier, and your apostle and servant of my need;

³ Yes, I ask you also, true companion, help these women, for they labored with me in the Good News, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.

¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother,

¹¹ and Jesus who is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These are my only fellow workers for the Kingdom of God, and they have been a comfort to me.

² and sent Timothy, our brother and God's fellow worker in the Good News of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith;

¹ Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ:

⁸ Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner; but endure hardship for the Good News according to the power of God, ⁹ yet on the basis of love I rather appeal, being such a one as Paul, the aged, but also a prisoner of Christ Jesus.

²⁴ as do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my fellow workers.

⁵ Greet the church that is in their house. Greet Epaenetus, my beloved, who is the first fruits of Asia to Christ.

¹⁹ The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you much in the Lord, together with the church that is in their house.

¹⁵ Greet the brothers who are in Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church that is in her house.

¹⁷ Tell Archippus, "See that you fulfill the ministry that you have been given in the Lord."

³ You therefore must share in hardship, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. ⁴ No soldier on duty entangles himself in the affairs of life, that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.

⁷ to all who are in Rome, loved by God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

⁸ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed throughout the whole world.

¹⁶ do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,

³ I thank my God whenever I remember you,

³ We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

² We always give thanks to God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers, ³ We are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers, even as it is appropriate, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each and every one of you towards one another abounds;

³ I thank God, whom I serve as my forefathers did, with a pure conscience. How unceasing is my memory of you in my petitions, night and day

³ As for the holy ones who are in the land, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.

³⁹ Peter got up and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper chamber. All the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them. ⁴⁰ Peter put them all out, and kneeled down and prayed. Turning to the body, he said, "Tabitha, get up." She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. ⁴¹ He gave her his hand, and raised her up. ⁶ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision amounts to anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love.

¹⁵ For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which you have toward all the saints,

⁴ having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which you have toward all the saints,

⁷ For I have much joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.

²³ This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded us.

¹ Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. Whoever loves the Father also loves the child who is born of him. ² By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and do his commandments.

¹⁶ In the same way, let your light shine before people, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

²⁵ And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed.

¹² For this service of giving that you perform not only makes up for lack among the saints, but abounds also through many thanksgivings to God; ¹³ seeing that through the proof given by this service, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the Good News of Christ, and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all; ¹⁴ while they themselves also, with petition on your behalf, yearn for you by reason of the exceeding grace of God in you.

⁹ This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment; ¹⁰ so that you may approve the things that are excellent; that you may be pure and blameless for the Day of Christ; ¹¹ being filled with the fruit of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

⁸ Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things.

⁹ For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, do not cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

¹⁴ Let our people also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful.

¹⁰ For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve them.

¹⁴ What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith, but has no works? Can faith save him?

¹⁷ Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself.

⁵ who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. ⁶ Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, ⁷ that the genuineness of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ— ⁸ whom not having seen you love; in whom, though now you do not see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy inexpressible and full of glory—

¹² having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they see, glorify God in the day of visitation.

¹ In like manner, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any do not obey the word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word;

¹⁶ having a good conscience; so that when they speak evil against you, they may be put to shame who slander your good manner of life in Christ.

⁸ For if these things are yours and abound, they make you to be not idle nor unfruitful to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁴ Great is my boldness of speech toward you. Great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I overflow with joy in all our affliction.

¹³ Therefore we have been comforted. In our comfort we rejoiced the more exceedingly for the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all.

³ remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labor of love and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father.

¹³ For this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that, when you received from us the word of the message of God, you accepted it not as a human word, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which also works in you who believe.

¹⁹ For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you, before our Lord Jesus at his coming?

⁹ For what thanksgiving can we render again to God for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sakes before our God;

¹⁶ May the Lord grant mercy to the house of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain,

²⁰ Yes, brother, let me have joy from you in the Lord. Refresh my heart in Christ.

⁴ I rejoice greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, even as we have been commanded by the Father.

³ For I rejoiced greatly, when brothers came and testified about your truth, even as you walk in truth. ⁴ I have no greater joy than this, to hear about my children walking in truth. ⁵ Beloved, you do a faithful work in whatever you accomplish for those who are brothers and strangers. ⁶ They have testified about your love before the church. You will do well to send them forward on their journey in a manner worthy of God,

¹² Having therefore such a hope, we use great boldness of speech,

¹ Now I Paul, myself, entreat you by the humility and gentleness of Christ; I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am of good courage toward you. ² But I implore you that when I am present I may not have to be bold with the confidence with which I intend on showing against some, who consider us to be walking according to the flesh.

⁸ For though I should boast somewhat abundantly concerning our authority, (which the Lord gave for building you up, and not for casting you down) I will not be disappointed,

²¹ I speak by way of disparagement, as though we had been weak. Yet however any is bold (I speak in foolishness), I am bold also.

⁴ nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not appropriate; but rather giving of thanks.

² but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi, we grew bold in our God to tell you the Good News of God in much conflict.

⁶ nor seeking glory from people (neither from you nor from others), when we might have claimed authority as apostles of Christ.

⁹ Do not reject me in my old age. Do not forsake me when my strength fails.

¹⁸ Yes, even when I am old and gray-haired, God, do not forsake me, until I have declared your strength to the next generation, your might to everyone who is to come.

³¹ Gray hair is a crown of glory. It is found in the path of righteousness.

⁴ and even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs will I carry you. I have made, and I will bear; yes, I will carry, and will deliver.

¹ Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

²⁰ We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

¹ Working together, we entreat also that you not receive the grace of God in vain,

¹⁹ I strongly urge you to do this, that I may be restored to you sooner.

¹¹ Beloved, I urge you as foreigners and temporary residents, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

¹ David said, "Is there yet any who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?" ² There was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba, and they called him to David; and the king said to him, "Are you Ziba?" He said, "Your servant is he." ³ The king said, "Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God to him?" Ziba said to the king, "Jonathan has yet a son, who is lame of his feet." ⁴ The king said to him, "Where is he?" Ziba said to the king, "Look, he is in the house of Makir the son of Ammiel, in Lo Debar." ⁵ Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Makir the son of Ammiel, from Lo Debar. ⁶ Mippibaal, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, and fell on his face, and showed respect. ⁵ The king commanded Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying, "Deal gently for my sake with the young man, even with Absalom." And all the people were listening when the king commanded all the captains concerning Absalom.

³⁷ Please let your servant turn back again, that I may die in my own city, by the grave of my father and my mother. But look, your servant Kimham; let him go over with my lord the king; and do to him what shall seem good to you." ³⁸ The king answered, "Kimham shall go over with me, and I will do to him that which shall seem good to you. Whatever you require of me, that I will do for you."

¹⁷ And one out of the crowd answered him, "Teacher, I brought to you my son, who has a mute spirit;

¹⁵ For though you have ten thousand tutors in Christ, yet not many fathers. For in Christ Jesus, I became your father through the Good News.

¹⁹ My children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ is formed in you—

⁹ together with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will make known to you everything that is going on here.

² to Timothy, my true child in faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹ "But now those who are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to put with my sheep dogs. ² Of what use is the strength of their hands to me, men in whom ripe age has perished?

³⁰ Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and grinding of teeth.'

²⁴ for this, my son, was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.' They began to celebrate.

³² But it was appropriate to celebrate and be glad, for this brother of yours was dead and is alive; and he was lost, and is found.'"

¹⁰ Even so you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say, 'We are unworthy servants. We have done our duty.'"

¹² They have all turned aside. They have together become unprofitable. There is no one who does good, there is not even one."

¹⁰ who once were not a people, but now are God's people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

⁶ If your brother, the son of your father, or the son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or the wife you embrace, or your friend who is closest to you, entice you secretly, saying, "Let us go and serve other gods," which you have not known, you, nor your fathers;

¹¹ David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, "Look, my son, who came forth from my bowels, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite, now? Leave him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD has invited him.

²⁰ Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he a darling child? For as often as I speak against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him," says the LORD.

¹⁴ "For if you forgive people their wrongdoing, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. ¹⁵ But if you do not forgive people, neither will your Father forgive your wrongdoing.

²¹ Then Peter came to him and said, "Lord, how often can my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?" ²² Jesus said to him, "I do not tell you up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. ²³ Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king, who wanted to reconcile accounts with his servants. ²⁴ When he had begun to reconcile, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. ²⁵ But because he could not pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, with his wife and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. ²⁶ The servant therefore fell down and kneeled before him, saying, 'Lord, have patience with me, and I will repay you all.' ²⁷ The lord of that servant, being moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt. ²⁸ "But that servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, who owed him one hundred denarii, and he grabbed him, and took him by the throat, saying, 'Pay what you owe.' ²⁹ "So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, 'Have patience with me, and I will repay you all.' ³⁰ He would not, but went and cast him into prison, until he should pay back that which was due. ³¹ So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were exceedingly sorry, and came and told to their lord all that was done. ³² Then his lord called him in, and said to him, 'You wicked servant. I forgave you all that debt, because you begged me. ³³ Should you not also have had mercy on your fellow servant, even as I had mercy on you?' ³⁴ His lord was angry, and delivered him to the tormentors, until he should pay all that was due. ³⁵ So my heavenly Father will also do to you, if you do not each forgive your brother his trespasses from your heart."

²⁵ Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your wrongdoing.

²⁰ "He arose, and came to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

³² And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.

¹⁷ I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus; for that which was lacking on your part, they supplied.

⁷ It is even right for me to think this way about all of you, because I have you in my heart, because, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the Good News, you all are partakers with me of grace.

³⁰ because for the work of Christ he came near to death, risking his life to supply that which was lacking in your service toward me.

¹ Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon, our beloved fellow worker,

¹⁷ I know also, my God, that you try the heart, and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things. Now have I seen with joy your people, that are present here, offer willingly to you.

³ Your people offer themselves willingly on the day of your power. On the holy mountains at sunrise the dew of your youth will be yours.

⁷ What soldier ever serves at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard, and does not eat of its fruit? Or who feeds a flock, and does not drink from the flock's milk?

¹⁷ For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward. But if not of my own will, I have a stewardship entrusted to me.

²⁴ Not that we rule over your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith.

¹² For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you do not have.

⁵ I thought it necessary therefore to entreat the brothers that they would go before to you, and arrange ahead of time the generous gift that you promised before, that the same might be ready as a matter of generosity, and not of greediness.

⁷ Each person should give according as he has determined in his heart; not grudgingly, or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver.

⁸ Therefore, though I have all boldness in Christ to command you that which is appropriate, ⁹ yet on the basis of love I rather appeal, being such a one as Paul, the aged, but also a prisoner of Christ Jesus.

² Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily, as God wants; not for dishonest gain, but willingly; ³ neither as lording it over those entrusted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock.

⁵ Now do not be upset or angry with yourselves that you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life. ⁶ For the famine has been in the land these two years, and there will be five more years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvest. ⁷ God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. ⁸ So now, it wasnʼt you who sent me here, but God, and he has made me a father to Pharaoh, lord of all his house, and ruler over all the land of Egypt.

²⁰ As for you, you meant evil against me, but God turned it into good in order to bring about this present result, to save the lives of many people.

¹⁰ Surely the wrath of man praises you. The survivors of your wrath are restrained.

⁶ The inhabitants of this coast land will say in that day, 'Look, this is our expectation, where we fled for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria. And we, how will we escape?'"

²⁸ to do whatever your hand and your council foreordained to happen.

⁸ But you are not to be called 'Rabbi,' for one is your Teacher, and all of you are brothers.

¹⁷ Ananias departed, and entered into the house. Laying his hands on him, he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me, that you may receive your sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit."

²² For he who was called in the Lord being a slave is the Lord's free person. Likewise he who was called being free is Christ's slave.

²⁸ Now you, brothers, as Isaac was, are children of promise. ²⁹ But as then, he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now.

⁵ Servants, be obedient to those who according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ; ⁶ not in the way of service only when eyes are on you, as people-pleasers; but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; ⁷ with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to people;

²² Servants, obey in all things those who are your masters according to the flesh, not just when they are looking, as people-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord.

² Those who have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brothers, but rather let them serve them, because those who partake of the benefit are believing and beloved. Teach and exhort these things.

¹ Therefore, holy brothers, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Jesus;

²² Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from a pure heart fervently: ²³ having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the living and abiding word of God.

¹ Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. Whoever loves the Father also loves the child who is born of him.

⁴⁰ Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me.

⁴⁸ But he answered him who spoke to him, "Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?" ⁴⁹ And he stretched out his hand towards his disciples, and said, "Look, my mother and my brothers. ⁵⁰ For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother."

⁵ Whoever receives one such little child in my name receives me,

⁴⁰ "The King will answer them, 'Truly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'

¹⁵ When she and her household were baptized, she urged us, saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and stay." So she persuaded us.

²³ As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker for you. As for our brothers, they are apostles of the churches, the glory of Christ.

⁶ that the non-Jews are fellow heirs, and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the Good News,

¹⁰ I appeal to you for my child, whom I have become the father of in my chains, Onesimus,

¹² I am sending back to you, him who is my very heart,

¹⁴ For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm to the end:

⁵ Listen, my beloved brothers. Did not God choose those who are poor in this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the Kingdom which he promised to those who love him?

¹ Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and who will also share in the glory that will be revealed.

³ that which we have seen and heard we declare to you also, that you also may have fellowship with us. Yes, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

⁴ Surely he bore our diseases, and took our pains; yet we considered him stricken, and struck down by God, and afflicted. ⁵ But he was pierced for our transgressions, and he was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed. ⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray. Everyone has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. ⁷ He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he did not open his mouth. He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and like a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he does not open his mouth.

¹ Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord? ² If to others I am not an apostle, yet at least I am to you; for you are the seal of my office of apostle in the Lord.

²¹ This greeting is by me, Paul, with my own hand. ²² If anyone does not love the Lord, a curse be on him. Our Lord, come.

² You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by everyone;

² Listen, I, Paul, tell you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will profit you nothing.

¹¹ See with what large letters I write to you with my own hand.

¹⁹ My brothers, if any among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, ²⁰ let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death, and will cover a multitude of sins.

² For if I make you sorry, then who will make me glad but he who is made sorry by me?

⁴ Great is my boldness of speech toward you. Great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I overflow with joy in all our affliction. ⁵ For even when we had come into Macedonia, our flesh had no relief, but we were afflicted on every side. Fightings were outside. Fear was inside. ⁶ Nevertheless, he who comforts the lowly, God, comforted us by the coming of Titus; ⁷ and not by his coming only, but also by the comfort with which he was comforted in you, while he told us of your longing, your mourning, and your zeal for me; so that I rejoiced still more.

⁸ For God is my witness, how I long after all of you in the tender mercies of Christ Jesus.

¹ If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion, ² make my joy full, by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;

¹ Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, so stand firm in the Lord, my beloved.

¹⁹ For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you, before our Lord Jesus at his coming? ²⁰ For you are our glory and our joy.

⁷ for this cause, brothers, we were comforted over you in all our distress and affliction through your faith. ⁸ For now we live, since you stand firm in the Lord. ⁹ For what thanksgiving can we render again to God for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sakes before our God;

¹⁷ Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they watch on behalf of your souls, as those who will give account, that they may do this with joy, and not with groaning, for that would be unprofitable for you.

¹⁷ But whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him?

⁴ I have no greater joy than this, to hear about my children walking in truth.

³ And I wrote this very thing, so that, when I came, I would not have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy would be shared by all of you.

¹⁶ I rejoice that in everything I am of good courage concerning you.

²² We have sent with them our brother, whom we have many times proved earnest in many things, but now much more earnest, by reason of the great confidence which he has in you.

¹⁰ I have confidence toward you in the Lord that you will think no other way. But he who troubles you will bear his judgment, whoever he is.

⁴ We have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you both do and will do the things we command.

²³ When they had appointed him a day, many people came to him at his lodging. He explained to them, testifying about the Kingdom of God, and persuading them concerning Jesus, both from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets, from morning until evening.

²⁴ whenever I journey to Spain I will come to you. For I hope to see you on my journey, and to be helped on my way there by you, if first I may enjoy your company for a while.

³⁰ Now I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me, ³¹ that I may be delivered from those who are disobedient in Judea, and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints; ³² that I may come to you in joy through the will of God, and together with you, find rest.

¹¹ you also helping together on our behalf by your petition; that, for the gift bestowed on us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf.

¹⁹ For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance, through your petition and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

²⁵ And since I am persuaded of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, ²⁶ that your rejoicing may abound in Christ Jesus in me through my presence with you again.

²⁴ But I trust in the Lord that I myself also will come shortly.

²³ Know that our brother Timothy has been freed, with whom, if he comes shortly, I will see you.

¹⁶ Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.

¹² Having many things to write to you, I do not want to do so with paper and ink, but I hope to come to you, and to speak face to face, that our joy may be made full.

¹⁴ but I hope to see you soon, and we will speak face to face. Peace be to you. The friends greet you. Greet the friends by name.

⁷ Greet Andronicus and Junia, my compatriots and my fellow prisoners, who are notable among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.

⁷ even as you learned of Epaphras our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on our behalf,

¹⁰ Aristarchus, my fellow prisoner greets you, and Mark, the cousin of Barnabas (concerning whom you received commandments, "if he comes to you, receive him"),

¹² Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, salutes you, always striving for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.

¹² Thinking about that, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together and were praying.

²⁵ Barnabas and Saul returned to Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their service, also taking with them John whose surname was Mark.

¹³ Now Paul and his company set sail from Paphos, and came to Perga in Pamphylia, and John departed from them and returned to Jerusalem.

³⁷ Barnabas planned to take John, who was called Mark, with them also. ³⁸ But Paul did not think that it was a good idea to take with them someone who had withdrawn from them in Pamphylia, and did not go with them to do the work. ³⁹ Then the contention grew so sharp that they separated from each other. Barnabas took Mark with him, and sailed away to Cyprus,

²⁹ The city was filled with confusion, and they rushed with one accord into the theater, having seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians, Paul's companions in travel.

² Embarking in a ship from Adramyttium, which was about to sail to places on the coast of Asia, we put to sea; Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.

¹⁴ Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas greet you.

¹⁰ for Demas left me, having loved this present world, and went to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. ¹¹ Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for service.

¹ Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon, our beloved fellow worker, ² and to Apphia our sister, to Archippus, our fellow soldier, and to the church in your house:

⁸ We therefore ought to receive such, that we may be fellow workers for the truth.

²⁰ And the God of peace will quickly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

²³ Gaius, my host and host of the whole church, greets you. Erastus, the treasurer of the city, greets you, as does Quartus, the brother.

¹⁸ The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.
