¹ And when he had opened the seuenth seale, there was silence in heauen about the space of halfe an houre. ² And I saw angelles standing before God, and to them were geuen .vij. trompettes. ³ And another angel came and stode before the aultare hauynge a golden senser, and muche of odoures was geuen vnto hym, that he shoulde offer of the prayers of al sainctes vpon the golden aultare, which was before the seate. ⁴ And the smoke of the odours, whiche came of the prayers of al sainctes ascended vp before God out of the angelles hand. ⁵ And the angell toke the senser, and fylled it wyth fyre of the aultare, and caste it into the earth, and voyces were made, and thonderinges and lighteninges, and earth quakes. ⁶ And the .vij. angelles, whiche had the .vij. trompettes prepared them selues to blowe. ⁷ The fyrste angel blewe, and these was made hayle and fyre, whiche were myngled wyth bloude, and they were cast into the earth, and the thyrde parte of the trees was burnte, and al grene grasse was brente. ⁸ And the seconde angel blewe: and as it were a greate mountaine burning wyth fyre was caste into the sea, and the thyrde parte of the sea turned to bloud, ⁹ and the thirde parte of the creatures, whiche had lyfe, dyed, and the thyrd parte of shyppes were destroyed. ¹⁰ And the thyrd angel blewe, and there fell a great starre from heauen burninge, as it were a lampe, and it fell into the thyrde parte of the riuers, and into fountaines of waters, ¹¹ & the name of the starre is called wormwod. And the thyrde parte was turned to wormwode. And manye men dyed of the waters, because they were made bitter. ¹² And the fourth angel blew, and the thyrde parte of the sunne was smytten and the thyrd part of the mone, and the thirde parte of the starres, so that the thirde part of them was darckened. And the daye was smitten, that the thirde parte of it shoulde not shyne, and lykewise the nyghte. ¹³ And I behelde and hearde an angell fliynge thorowe the middes of heauen, sayinge wyth a loude voyce: Wo, wo, to the inhabiters of the earth, because of the voyces to come of the trompe of the .iij. angels, whyche were yet to blowe.

And he answered: here am I. ⁵ And he sayed: Come not hyther, but put thy shooes of thy fete: for the place wheron thou standest is holy ground. ⁶ And he sayed: I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob. And Moses hyd hys face for he was afrayed to loke vpon God. ⁷ Then the Lorde sayed: I haue surelye sene the trouble of mi people which ar in Egipt, and haue heard their cry whyche they haue of their taskemasters. For I know theyr sorow, ⁸ and am come downe to deliuer them out of the handes of the Egyptians, & to bringe them out of that land vnto a good lande & a large, & vnto a land that floweth with milke & hony: euen vnto the place of the Cananites Hethites, Amorites, Pherezites, Heuites, & of the Iebusites. ⁹ Nowe therfore behold, the complaynt of the chyldren of Israel is come vnto me, and I haue also sene the oppression wherwyth the Egyptians oppresse them. ¹⁰ But come, I wyl sende vnto Pharao, that thou maist bring my people, the children of Israel out of Egypt. ¹¹ And Moyses said vnto God: what am I to go vnto Pharao, & to brynge the chyldren of Israell out of Egypt? ¹² And he sayde: I wyll be wt the. And this shalbe a token vnto the that I haue sente the, after that thou hast brought the people out of Egyte, ye shall serue God vpon thys mountayne. ¹³ Then said Moses vnto God: when I come vnto the children of Israel & say vnto them, the God of your fathers hath sent me vnto you & they say vnto me, what is hys name, what answer shal I gyue them? ¹⁴ Then sayd God vnto Moyses: I wilbe what I wyll be: & he said, this shalt thou say vnto the children of Israel: I wilbe did send me to you. ¹⁵ And God spake further vnto Moyses: thus shalt thou say vnto the children of Israel: the Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, & the God of Iacob hath sent me vnto you: this is my name for euer, and thys is my memorial thorowout al generations. ¹⁶ Goo therfore & gather the elders of Israell togyther, & say vnto them: the Lorde God of youre fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob appeared vnto me, and sayed. I haue bene and sene both you and that which is done to you in Egypte. ¹⁷ And I haue sayed it, that I wyll brynge you out of the tribulation of Egypte vnto the Lande of the Cananites, Hethites, Amorites, Pherezites, Heuites, and Iebusites: euen a land that floweth wt milke & hony. ¹⁸ If it come to passe that they heare thy voice then go, boeth thou and the elders of Israel vnto the kyng of Egypt, and say vnto him: The Lorde God of the Hebrues hath mette with vs: let vs go therfore .iij. dayes iourney into the wyldernes, that we maye sacrifice vnto the Lord our God.

Moreouer, we can not knowe wherewyth wee shall serue the Lorde, vntyl we come thyther. ²⁷ But the Lord hardened Pharaos hert, so that he wold not let them go. ²⁸ And Pharao said vnto him: get the from me, & take hede to thy selfe that thou se my face no more. For when so euer tou comest in my syghte, thou shalte dye. ²⁹ And Moses sayd: Let it be as thou hast sayd: I wyl se thy face no more.

¹ And the Lorde spake vnto Moses saying: ² Make the two trompettes of beaten syluer, that thou mayst vse them to call the congregacion together, & when the hoste shal iourney. ³ When they blowe wt them, al the multitude shal resorte to the, vnto the dore of the tabernacle of wytnesse. ⁴ If but one trumpet blowe onlye, then the princes which are heades ouer the thousandes of Israel shal come vnto the. ⁵ And when ye trompe the fyrst tyme, the hostes that lye on the east partes shal go forward. ⁶ And when ye trompe the seconde tyme, then the hostes that lye on the south syde shal take their iourney: for they shal trompe when they take their iourneyes. ⁷ And in getheryng the congregacion together, ye shall blowe and not trompe. ⁸ And the sonnes of Aaron the preastes shal blowe the trompettes & shal haue them and it shalbe a lawe vnto you for euer and amonge youre chyldren after you. ⁹ And when ye shall go to warre in youre lande agaynst your enemyes that wexe you, ye shall trompe with the trompettes and ye shalbe remembred before the Lord your God and saued from youre enemyes. ¹⁰ Also when ye be mery in your feast dayes and in the fyrst dayes of your monethes, ye shall blowe the trompettes ouer your burnt sacryfyces and peaceofferynges, that it maye be a remembraunce of you before your GOD. I am the Lord youre God.

⁴⁶ And Moses sayd vnto Aaron: take a censer, and put fyre therein out of the alter, and poure on cense, and go quickely vnto the congregation and make an atonement for them For there is wrath gone out from the Lord and ther is a plage begone. ⁴⁷ And Aaron toke as Moses commaunded hym, and ran vnto the congregation, & beholde, the plage was begonne amonge the people, and he putt on cense, & made an atonemente for the people.

¹⁸ Lest there be among you man or woman kynred or trybe, that turneth away in hys hert thys day from the Lord our God, to go and serue the goddes of these nacions: & lest there be amonge you some roote that beareth gall and wormwod,

Come out of the sanctuarye, for thou hast trespaced, and it shalbe no worshepe to the before the Lorde God. ¹⁹ And Oziah was wroth and had cense in hys hande to offer, and in hys indignacyon agaynste the prieste, the leprosye sprange in his forhead the priestes in the house of the Lorde, euen besyde the incense aulter. ²⁰ And Asariah the chefe priest with al the other priestes loked vpon him: and beholde he was a leper in his forhead, & they vexed him thence. And therto he was fayne to go oute, because the Lord had plaged him.

And when the burntofferyng beganne, the songe of the Lorde beganne, & the trompettes with the instrumentes of Dauid kynge of Israel. ²⁸ And all the congregacyon bowed themselues, and the syngers sange, and the trompettes blew, and continued vntyll the burntofferyng was fynesshed.

³ he toke councell with hys capitaynes & men of might, to stoppe the water of the fountaynes that were wythout the cytye: & they were content to helpe hym.

³ Therefore wt ioye shal ye drawe water out of the welles of the Sauioure,

³⁰ The Lorde also shall set vp the power of his voyce, and declare his terryble arme, wyth hys angry countenaunce yea and the flamme of the consumynge fyre, with earthquake, tempest of wynde, and haile stones.

¹⁹ And when the hayle falleth, it shal fal in the wodde and in the cytie.

Thus shall the hande of the Lorde be knowne amonge his seruauntes, and his indignacyon amonge his enemyes. ¹⁵ For behold the Lorde shall come with fyre, and hys charet shalbe lyke a whirle winde, that he maye recompence his vengeaunce in his wrath and hys indignacyon wt the flamme of fyre. ¹⁶ For the Lorde shall iudge all fleshe with the fyre, and with his swearde, & there shalbe a greate nombre slayne of the Lorde.

¹⁰ And that for this cause, they haue disceyued my people, and tolde them of peace, where no peace was. One setteth vp a wal, and they daube it with louse claye. ¹¹ Therfore tell them which dawbe it wyth vntempered morter, that it shal fal. For there shal come a great shower of rayne, greate stones shall fall vpon it, and a sore storme of wynde shal breake it, ¹² so shall the wal come doune. Shal it not then be sayde vnto you: where is now the morter, that ye daubed it with all? ¹³ Therfore thus sayth the Lorde God: I wyll breake oute in my wrothfull displeasure with a stormye wynd, so that in myne anger there shall come a myghtye shower of rayne, & hayle stones in my wrath, to destroye withall. ¹⁴ As for the wall, that ye haue dawbed wyth vntempered morter, I wyll breake it doune, make it eauen wyth the grounde, so that the foundacyon therof shall remoue, & it shall fal, yea and ye youre selues shall perysh in the middest therof: to learne you for to knowe, that I am the Lord. ¹⁵ Thus wil I perfourme my wrath vpon thys wall, and vpon them that haue dawbed it with vntempered morter, and then wyll I saye vnto you: The wall is gone, and the dawbers are awaye.

⁹ And yf that Prophete be deceyued, when he telleth hym a worde: then I the Lorde my selfe haue dysceyued that Prophete, & wyl stretche forth myne hande vpon hym, to rote hym out of my people of Israel,

⁷ When thou arte put oute, I wyll couer the heauen, and make hys starres dymme. I wyll sprede a cloude ouer the sunne, and the moone shall not geue her lyghte. ⁸ All the lyghtes of heauen wyll I put oute ouer the, and brynge darckenesse vpon thy lande, sayeth the Lorde God.

²² Wyth pestylence and bloude will I punysh hym: stormy rayne & hayle stones, fyre & brimstone, wyl I cause to rayne vpon him & all his heape yee & vpon al that greate people that is with hym.

¹⁵ Yet can I se no comforte, for when he is nowe the goodlyest among the brethren, the East wynde (euen the wynd of the Lorde) shall come doune from the wyldernesse, and drye vp hys condytes, and drincke vp hys welles: he shall spoyle the treasure of all pleasaunte vessels. ¹⁶ As for Samaria, they shalbe made waste, and why? they are disobedient vnto their god. They shal perysh with the sweard, their children shalbe slayne, and theyr wemen greate with chylde shalbe rypt vp.
