1 My son, if thou be suerty for thy neyghboure, thou hast fastened thyne hand wyth another man: 2 yet thou art bound with thyne owne wordes, & taken wt thine owne speache. 3 Therfore, my sonne, do thys discharge thy selfe, for thou art come into thy neyghboures daunger. Go thy way then sone and intreate thy neighbour: 4 let not thine eies slepe ner thyne eye lyddes slomber. 5 Saue thy selfe as a doo from the hande, and as a byrde from the handes of the fouler.

Proverbs 11:15

15 He that is suerty for a straunger, hurteth him self: but he that medleth not with suertiship, is sure.

Proverbs 17:18

18 Whoso promyseth by the hande, and is suertye: or another, he is a foole.

Proverbs 27:13

13 Take hys garmente that is suertye for a straunger, & take a pledge of him for the vnknowne mans sake.
