³⁰ There is no wysdome ther is no vnderstandyng, there is no councell agaynste the Lorde.

²¹ There are many deuises in a mans hert, neuertheles the counsayll of the Lorde shall stande.

⁵ because that the kynge of Siria Ephraim & Romelyes sonne haue wickedlye conspyred agaynst the, ⁶ sayinge: We wyll go doune into Iuda, vexe them, and bryng them vnder vs, and set a kynge there, euen the sonne of Tabeel. ⁷ For thus sayth the Lorde GOD therto, It shall not so go forthe, nether come so to passe:

⁹ Go together ye people, and gather you, herken to all ye of farre countreyes. Mustre you, & gather you: mustre you and gather you, ¹⁰ take your councel together, yet must youre councell come to nought: go in hand with all, yet shall it not prospere. Excepte Emanuel: (that is God) be with vs.

²⁷ For yf the Lorde of Hostes determen a thynge, who wyl dysanulle it? And yf he stretch forth hys hande, who wil holde it in agayne?

¹⁰ In the beginning of a thynge, I shewe the ende therof: & I tell before, thynges that are not yet come to passe. With one worde is my deuyce accomplyshed, & fulfylleth all my pleasure. ¹¹ I call a byrde out of the East, & all that I take in hande, out of farre countrees, as soone as I commaunde, I brynge it hether: as soone as I thyncke to deuyse a thynge, I do it.

²³ Moreouer, thus sayeth the Lorde: Let not the wyse man reioyse in his wisdome, nor the stronge man in hys strength, neyther the ryche man in hys ryches:

¹³ Neuerthelesse, the men assayed with rouwynge, to bringe the shyppe to lande: but it wolde not be, because the sea wrought so, and was so troublous agaynst them.

²⁷ For of a trueth againste thy holy childe Iesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herode and also Poncius Pilate, with the Gentyls & the people of Israel, gathered them selues together, ²⁸ for to do whatsoeuer thy hande and thy councell determined before to be done.

³⁹ But and if it be of God ye can not destroye it, leaste haply ye be found to striue against god.

¹⁹ For the wysdome of this worlde is folyshnes wyth God. For it is wrytten: he compaseth the wyse in theyr craftynes. ²⁰ And agayne, God knoweth the thoughtes of the wyse that they be vayne.

⁸ and a stone to stomble at, and a rocke to offende them whiche stomble at the word, and beleue not that whereon they were set.
