³¹ The horse is prepared against the day of battail, but the Lord geueth the victory.

³ But thou, O Lord, arte my defender, my worshippe, and the lifter vp of my head.

⁸ Helpe belongeth vnto the Lorde, therfore let thy blessynge be vpon thy people.

⁷ Some put their trust in charettes, & some in horses: but we will remembre the name of the Lorde oure God.

¹⁷ A horse is but a vayne thing to saue a man, it is not the power of hys strengthe that can delyuer hym. ¹⁸ Beholde, the eye of the Lorde loketh vnto them that feare hym, & put their trust in hys mercy.

²⁰ The God that is our sauiour, euen God the Lord by whome we escape death.

¹⁰ Thou that geuest victory vnto kynges, & hast deliuered Dauid thy seruaunt from the parell of the swerde.

¹⁰ He hath no pleasure in the strengthe of an horse, neither deliteth he in any mans legges.

¹¹ So I turned me vnto other thynges vnder the Sonne, and I sawe, that in runnyng, it helpeth not to be swift: in battayll, it helpeth not to be stronge, to fedynge, it helpeth not to be wyse: to ryches, it helpeth not to be suttell: to be had in fauoure, it helpeth not to be cunnynge: but that all lyeth in tyme and fortune.

¹ Wo be vnto them that go doune into Egypte for help, and trust in horses, & comforte themselues in charettes, because they be many, & in horse men because they be lusty & strong. But they regarde not the holy one of Israel, and they aske no question at the Lorde.

²³ The hylles fal, and al the hye pryde of the mountaynes, but the healthe of Israel standeth onely vpon God oure Lorde.
