⁵ They skyppe vp vpon the hylles, as it were the sounde of charettes, as the flamme of fyre that consumeth the strawe, and as a myghtye people ready to the battell.

²⁴ Therfore lyke as fyre lycketh vp the straw & as the flamme consumeth the stubble: Euen so (when theyr rote is full) theyr blossome shall vanyshe awaye lyke duste or smoke: for they despyse the lawe of the Lorde of Hostes, and blaspheme the worde of the holye maker of Israel.

³⁰ The Lorde also shall set vp the power of his voyce, and declare his terryble arme, wyth hys angry countenaunce yea and the flamme of the consumynge fyre, with earthquake, tempest of wynde, and haile stones.

³ The shylde of hys gyauntes glystereth, hys men of warre are clothed in purple. Hys charettes are as fyre, when he maketh hym forward, his archers are well decke & trimmed. ⁴ The charettes rolle vpon the stretes, & welter in the hye wayes. They are to loke vpon lyke cressettes of fyre, & go swyftly, as the lyghtenynge.

² There a man may heare scourgynge, russhyng, the noyse of the weeles, the cryenge of the horses, & the rollynge of the charettes. ³ There the horsmen get vp with naked swerdes, & glystering speares. There lyeth a multytude slayn, & a great heape of deade bodyes. There is no ende of dead coarses, yea, men fall vpon theyr bodyes:

¹² which hath also his fan in hys hande, and will purge his floure gather the wheat into his garner, & wyl burne the chaffe with vnquenciable fyre.

⁹ And they had habbergions, as it were habbergyons of Iron. And the sounde of theyr wynges, was as the sounde of charettes, when many horsses runne together to battayle.
