¹² And the Lord sayde vnto Moyses: come vp to me into the hyll and be there, & I wyll geue the tables of stone and a lawe and commaundementes, which I haue written to teache them.

² And Moyses went hym selfe alone vnto the Lord, but they came not nye, neyther came the people vp with hym.

¹⁵ When Moyses was come vp into the mount a cloude couered the hyll,

¹⁸ And Moyses went into the mountayne. And Moyses was in the mounte .xl. dayes. and .xl. nyghtes.

¹⁸ And when he had made an ende of commenyng wyth Moses vpon the mount Sinai he gaue hym two tables of witnesse: which were of stone and written with the fynger of God.

¹⁵ And Moses turned hys backe and wente downe from the hyl, and the .ij. tables of witnesse in his hand: which were written on both the leaues ¹⁶ and were the worcke of God, and the wrytynge was the writynge of God grauen vpon the tables.

¹⁴ And the Lord commaunded me that same ceason to teache you ordinaunces and lawes, for to do them in the land whither ye go to possesse it.

²² These wordes the Lord spake vnto al youre multitude in the mount out of the fyre, cloud and darckenes, with a loude voyce & added no more therto, and wrote them in .ij. tables of stone and deliuered them vnto me.

¹⁰ For Esdras prepared his hert to seke the law of the Lord, and to do it, and do teache the precept and iudgement in Israel.

¹³ Thou camest doune also vpon mount Sinai, and spakest vnto them from heauen, and gaueste them ryght iudgementes, true lawes good commaundementes and statutes,

³³ But thys shall be the couenaunte that I wyll make with the house of Israel after those dayes, sayeth the Lorde: I wyll plante my lawe in the inwarde partes of them, & wryte it in theyr hertes, and wilbe theyr God, and they shalbe my people.

¹⁹ Whosoeuer therfore breaketh one of these lest commaundementes, & teacheth men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdome of heauen. But whosoeuer obserueth & teacheth, the same shal be called great in the kingdom of heauen.

³ in that ye are knowen, howe that ye are the Epistle of Christe, ministred by vs and writen, not wyth ynke, but wyth the spirite of the lyuyng God, not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the herte.

⁷ Yf the mynystracyon of death throughe the letters fygured in stones was gloryous, so that the chyldren of Israell coulde not behold the face of Moyses for the glory of hys countenaunce (whiche glory neuerthelesse is done awaye)

⁴ whiche had the golden senser, and the arcke of the testament ouerlayde roundabout wyth gold, wherein was the golden pot with manna, and Aarons rodde that sprong, and the tables of the testament.
