¹¹ & vpon the nobles of the chyldren of Israel he set not hys hande. And when they had sene God they ate and dronke.

¹³ And she called the name of the Lorde that spake vnto her: thou art the God that lokest on me, for she sayd: I haue of a suertie sene here the backe partes of hym that seeth me.

¹⁸ seynge that Abraham shal be a great & a myghtie people, & all the nacions of the erth shalbe blessed in him?

⁵⁴ Then Iacob did sacrifice vpon the mounte, and called hys brethren to eate bread. And they ate breade & taried al nyght in the hyll.

²⁴ & taried behind hym selfe alone. And ther wresteled a man wyth him vnto the breaking of the day. ²⁵ And when he sawe that he could not preuayle agaynste hym, he smote hym vnder the thye, & the senowe of Iacobs thye shranke as he wrestled with him ²⁶ And he said: let me goo, for the day breaketh. And he said: I wyll not lette the go, excepte thou blesse me. ²⁷ And he sayd vnto hym: what is thy name? He answered: Iacob. ²⁸ And he said: thou shalt be called Iacob no more, but Israel. For thou hast wresteled with God and hast preuayled. ²⁹ And Iacob asked hym sayinge, tell me thy name. And he said, wherfore doest thou aske after my name? & he blessed hym there. ³⁰ And Iacob called the name of that place Pheniel for I haue sene God face to face, & yet is my life reserued. ³¹ And as he went ouer Pheniel the sonne rose vpon him, & he halted vpon his thye: ³² wherfore the children of Israell eate not of the senow that shranke vnder the thye, vnto thys daye: bicause that he smote Iacob vnder the thye in the senowe that shroncke.

¹² And Iethro Moses father in lawe offered burnte offerynges and sacrifices vnto God. And Aaron and all the elders of Israell came to eate bread with Moses father in lawe before God.

²¹ And the Lord sayd vnto Moses: go doune & charge the people that they prease not vp vnto the Lorde for to se hym, & so many of them perish.

⁹ Then went Moyses & Aaron, Nadad and Abihu and the .lxx. elders of Israell vp, ¹⁰ and sawe the God of Israel, and vnder his feate as it were a brycke worke of Saphir & as it were the facion of heauen when it is cleare,

²⁰ And he sayed furthermore, thou maiste not see my for there shall no man se me and lyue. ²¹ And the Lorde sayed, beholde, there is a place by me, & thou shalt stand vpon a rocke, ²² and whyle my glory goeth forth I wyll put the in a clyfte of the rocke, & wyll put myne hand vpon the whyle I passe by. ²³ And then I wyl take away myne hande, and thou shalte se my backe partes: but my face shall not be seene.

¹⁸ The wel whych the rulers dygged and the captaines of the people wt the healpe of the lawe geuer and with their staues. And from thys wyldernesse they went to Matana,

³³ that a nation hath heard the voice of God speaking out of fire as thou hast herde and yet lyued?

⁷ And there ye shall eate before the Lord your God, and ye shal reioyce in al that you lay your handes on, boeth ye and your housholdes, bicause the Lord thy God hath blessed the.

¹³ Then they that had escaped, raygned ouer the proudest of the people: The Lorde raygneth ouer the stronge.

²² and sayd vnto hys wyfe: we shal surelye dye, because we haue sene God.

⁸ And she wrote a letter in Ahabs name and sealed it wt hys seale, and sent it vnto the elders and chefe men of his cytie that dwelt where Naboth dwelt.

²⁰ And he toke the capitaynes of hundrethes and the nobles, and the gouernoures of the people & all the folke of the lande, & brought the kyng downe out of the house of the Lord, and they went thorowe the hye gate in the kynges house, and set the kynge vpon the seate of the kyngedome.

¹⁶ And the rulers knewe not whether I went or what I dyd: for hyther to had I not told the Iewes & the priestes, for the councelers and the rulers, & the other that laboured in the worcke.

⁷ Go thou thy waye then, eate thy bread wyth ioy, and dryncke thy wyne wyth gladnesse, for thy worckes please God.

³ The Lordes shall sende their seruauntes to fetch water, and when they come to the welles, they shall fynde no water, but shall carye their vessels home emptye. They shall be ashamed and confounded, & shall couer their heades.

²³ And brynge hyther the fatted caulfe and kyll hym, and let vs eate and be merye: ²⁴ for thys my sonne was dead, and is alyue agayne, he was lost and is nowe founde. And they beganne to be mery.

¹⁶ Is not the cuppe of blessinge whiche we blesse, partaking of that bloude of Christe? ¹⁷ is not the breade which we breake, partakinge of the bodye of Christ? because that we (thoughe we be manye) yet are one bodye in as muche as we all are partakers of one breade. ¹⁸ Beholde Israell whiche walketh carnally. Are not they which eate of the sacrifyce, partakers of the aultre?
