¹ Am I not an Apostle? am I not free? haue I not sene Iesus Christ our Lorde?

³ But as he went on his iorneye, and was come nye to Damasco, sodenly there shyned round aboute him a lyght from heauen,

⁵ And he saide: what art thou Lorde? And the Lorde saide: I am Iesus whom thou persecutest it shalbe hearde for the to kycke agaynste the prycke.

¹⁵ The Lorde said vnto him: go thy wayes for he is a chosen vessel vnto me, to beare me name before the gentyls and kynges, and the chyldren of Israel.

¹⁷ Ananias went hys waye and entred into the house, and put his handes on him, & said: brother Saul the Lord that appeared vnto the in the waye as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou myghtest receiue thy sight, and be fylled with the holy ghoste.

² As they ministred to the Lorde and fasted, the holy ghost sayde: separate me Barnabas and Saule, for the worke where vnto I haue called them.

⁴ The people of the citie were deuyded: and parte helde with the Iewes, and parte wt the Apostles.

¹⁴ But when the Apostles Barnabas & Paul hearde that, they rent theyr clothes, and ran in amonge the people, criynge,

¹⁷ The same folowed Paul and vs, & cryed, saiynge: These men are the seruauntes of the moste hye God, which shew vnto vs that waye of saluacyon. ¹⁸ And thys dyd she manye dayes. But Paule not content turned aboute, and sayed to the spirite: I commaunde the in the name of Iesu Christe, that thou come oute of her. And he came out the same houre.

⁸ How be it one Crispus the chiefe rular of the Synagoge beleued on the Lorde wyth al his houshold, & manye of the Corinthians gaue audience & beleued, and were baptised. ⁹ Then spake the Lorde to Paule in the nyght by a vision: be not afrayde, but speake, and hold not thy peace: ¹⁰ for I am with the, and no man shal inuad the that shal hurt the. For I haue much people in this citie. ¹¹ And he continued there a yeare and sixe monethes, and taught them the word of God.

⁶ And it fortuned as I made my iorney and was come nye vnto Damasco aboute none, that sodenlye there shone from heauen a greate lyght rounde aboute me, ⁷ and I fell to the earthe, and heard a voyce, saiynge vnto me: Saul, Saule, why persecutest thou me? ⁸ And I aunswered: what arte thou Lorde? And he sayde vnto me: I am Iesus of Nazareth whom thou persecutest.

¹⁴ And he sayde: the God of oure fathers hath ordeyned the before, that thou shouldeste knowe hys wyll, and shouldeste se that which is ryghtfull: and shouldest heare the voyce of hys mouth: ¹⁵ for thou shalte be hys wytnes vnto all men of those thynges whiche thou haste sene and hearde. ¹⁶ And now, why taryest thou? aryse and be baptysed, and washe awaye thy synnes in callynge on the name of the Lorde. ¹⁷ And it fortuned when I was come agayn to Ierusalem, and prayde in the temple that I was in a traunce, ¹⁸ and sawe hym, saiyng vnto me: Make hast, and get the quickly out of Ierusalem: for they wyll not receyue the wytnes that thou bearest of me. ¹⁹ And I sayde: Lorde, they knowe that I prysoned and beate in euery synagoge then that beleued on the, ²⁰ and when the bloude of thy witnes Stephan was shede: I also stode by, and consented vnto his death, and kepte the rayment of them that slew hym. ²¹ And he sayd vnto me: depart, for I wyl sende the a farre hence vnto the gentyls.

¹¹ The nyght folowynge, God stode by hym and sayed: be of good cheare Paule: for as thou haste testifyed of me in Ierusalem, so must thou beare wytnes at Rome.

¹⁶ but ryse and stand vp on thy fete. For I haue appeared vnto the for this purpose, to make the a minister, and a wytnes both of those thinges, whiche thou hast sene, and of those thinges in the which I wil appeare ¹⁷ vnto the deliuering the from the people, and from the gentils, vnto whiche nowe I sende the, ¹⁸ to open theyr eyes, that they myght turne from darckenes to lyght, and from the power of Satan vnto God: that they maye receiue forgeuenes of synnes, and inheritaunce amonge them whyche are sanctyfyed by fayth in me.

¹ Paule the seruaunte of Iesus Christ called to be an Apostle, put aparte to preache the Gospel of God,

⁵ by whom we haue receyued grace and Apostleshyp, to brynge all maner heathen people vnto the obedience of the fayth that is in his name:

¹³ I speake to you gentyls, in as much as I am the Apostle of the gentyls: I wil magnify myne offyce,

¹ Paule by vocacyon an Apostle of Iesus Christe thorow the wyll of God, & brother Sostenes.

⁶ I haue planted, Apollo watred: but God gaue the increase.

¹⁴ I wryte not these thinges to shame you but as my beloued sonnes I warne you. ¹⁵ For thoughe ye haue ten thousand instructours in Christ: yet haue ye not many fathers. In Christe Iesu, I haue begotten you thorowe the Gospell.

² Are not ye my worke in the Lorde? Yf I be not an Apostle vnto other, yet am I vnto you. For the seale of myne Apostleshyppe are ye in the Lord. ³ Mine aunswere to them that axe me, is this.

¹⁹ For though I be fre from all men, yet haue I made my selfe seruaunte vnto all men, that I myght winne the mo.

⁸ And last of al, he was sene of me, as of one that was borne out of due time. ⁹ For I am the leste of al the Apostles, whiche am not worthy to be called an Apostle, because I persecuted the congregation of God.

¹ We as healpers therfore exhorte you, that ye receyue not the grace of God in vayne.

⁵ I impose that I was not behynde the chief Apostles.

¹¹ I am made a fole in bostynge my selfe. Ye haue compelled me: I ought to haue bene commended of you. For in nothynge was I inferyor vnto the chiefe Apostles. Thoughe I be nothynge ¹² yet the tokens of an Apostle were wroughte amonge you with al pacience: with signes, and wonders and myghty dedes.

¹ Paul an Apostle, not of men, neyther by man, but by Iesus christ and by God the father, which raysed hym from death:

¹⁵ But when it pleased God (whiche separated me from my mothers wombe, and called me by hys grace, ¹⁶ for to declare hys sonne by me) that I shoulde preache hym amonge the heathen immediatly I communed not of the matter with fleshe and bloude, ¹⁷ neyther returned to Hierusalem to them whiche were Apostles before me, but went my wayes into Arabia, and came agayne to Damasco.

⁷ But contrary wyse, when they sawe that the Gospel ouer that vncircumcysyon was committed vnto me, as the gospell ouer the circumcisyon was vnto Peter: ⁸ for he that was mighty in Peter in the Apostleshyppe ouer the circumcisyon the same was myghty in me amonge the Gentyls,

¹ Stande fast therfore in the lybertye wherewith Christ hath made vs free and wrappe not your selues againe in the yoke of bondage.

⁶ neyther sought we prayse of men neyther of you, nor yet of anye other, when we mighte haue bene chargeable, as the Apostles of Christe, ⁷ where vnto I am ordeyned a preacher and an Apostle: I tell the trueth in Christe and lye not, beynge the teacher of the gentyles in fayth and verytye.

¹¹ whereunto I am appointed, a preacher and an Apostle and a teacher of the Gentyls:

¹ Paule the seruaunt of God and an Apostle of Iesu Christ, to preache the faythe, of Goddes elect, & the knowledge of that truethe, whiche is after Godlynes, ² vpon the hope, of eternall lyfe, whiche lyfe God that can not lye, hath promysed before the worlde beganne: ³ but hath opened hys worde, at the tyme appoynted thorowe preachynge which preachynge is commytted vnto me by the commaundement of God oure sauyoure.
