¹⁶ Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.

⁶ Then said Rachel, "God hath given sentence on my side, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son." Therefore called she him Dan.

²⁵ And hindmost of all the host came the standard of the host of the children of Dan with their armies: whose captain was, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

²² And unto Dan he said, "Dan is a lion's whelp, he shall flow from Bashan."

And when Micah saw that they were too strong for him, he turned and went back unto his house again. ²⁷ And they took the things which Micah had made, and the priest which he had, and went unto Laish, even unto a people that were at rest and without mistrust, and smote them with the edge of the sword and burnt the city with fire.
