¹⁶ After this lived Job forty years, so that he saw his children, and his children's children to the fourth generation.

⁵ There were they brought in great fear, even where no fear was; for God is in the generation of the righteous.

¹¹ For they intended mischief against thee, and imagined such a device as they are not able to perform.

⁵ They are afraid where no fear is; for God breaketh the bones of them that besiege thee. Thou hast put them to confusion, because God hath despised them.

⁵ They vex me daily in my words: all that they imagine is to do me evil.

¹⁰ The fierceness of man shall turn to thy praise; and the fierceness of them shalt thou refrain.

³ Their blood have they shed like water on every side of Jerusalem, and there was no man to bury them.

¹⁶ Moreover he called for a dearth upon the land, and destroyed all the provision of bread. ¹⁷ But he had sent a man before them, even Joseph which was sold to be a bond servant,

⁷¹ It is good for me that I have been in trouble, that I may learn thy statutes.

⁶ Yea, that thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.

¹ The ungodly fleeth, no man chasing him; but the righteous standeth stiff as a lion.

¹³ He that hideth his sins, shall not prosper; but who so knowledgeth them and forsaketh them, shall have mercy.

²⁵ He that feareth men, shall have a fall; but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall come to honour.

³ If a man beget a hundredth children, and live many years, so that his days are many in number, and yet cannot enjoy his good, neither be buried: as for him I say, that an untimely birth is better than he.

⁵ When men shall fear in high places, and be afraid in the streets; when the Almond tree shall be despised, the grasshopper born out, and when great poverty shall break in; when man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets.

⁷ Or dust be turned again unto earth from whence it came, and or the spirit return unto God, which gave it.

⁹ There will I tarry for thee, my love, with mine host and with my chariots, which shall be no fewer than Pharaoh's.

⁷ Howbeit, his meaning is not so, neither thinketh his heart of this fashion. But he imagineth only, how he may overthrow and destroy much people,

¹⁶ 'What hast thou here to do? And whom hast thou here? That thou shouldest here hew thee out a sepulchre, as it were one that causeth a costly tomb of stone to be made for himself, or that graveth a habitation out of a rock?

² Comfort Jerusalem, and tell her that her travail is at an end, that her offense is pardoned, that she hath received of the LORD's hand sufficient correction for all her sins.

⁴⁴ But I say unto you, Love your enemies. Bless them that curse you. Do good to them that hate you. Pray for them which do you wrong and persecute you;

¹² And forgive us our trespasses, even as we forgive our trespassers.

¹⁴ For and if ye shall forgive other men their trespasses, your heavenly father shall also forgive you.

⁴² And whosoever shall give unto one of these little ones, to drink a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, I tell you of a truth, he shall not lose his reward."

²⁷ And straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, "Be of good cheer, it is I, be not afraid."

³⁵ So like wise shall my heavenly father do unto you, except ye forgive with your hearts, each one to his brother their trespasses."

⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say unto them, 'Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it to me.'

¹² And in that she casted this ointment on my body, she did it to bury me, withal.

⁶⁰ and put it in his new tomb, which he had hewn out even in the rock, and rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre and departed.

³⁸ And he came unto the house of the ruler of the Synagogue, and saw the wondering and them that wept and wailed greatly; ³⁹ And he went in and said unto them, "Why make ye this ado and weep? The maiden is not dead, but sleepeth."

⁴¹ And when the ten heard that, they began to disdain at James and John.

⁸ She hath done that she could: she came aforehand to anoint my body to his buryingward.

¹ And when the Sabbath day was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary Joseph, and Salome, bought ointments, that they might come and anoint him.

⁵⁹ And he said unto another, "Follow me." And the same said, "Lord suffer me first to go and bury my father." ⁶⁰ Jesus said unto him, "Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God."

³ Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. ⁴ And though he sin against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee saying, It repenteth me, forgive him."

¹ On the morrow after the Sabbath, early in the morning, they came unto the tomb and brought the odours which they had prepared, and other women with them.

³⁷ And they were abashed, and afraid, supposing that they had seen a spirit. ³⁸ And he said unto them, "Why are ye troubled? And why do thoughts arise in your hearts?

³⁵ And Jesus wept. ³⁶ Then said the Jews, "Behold how he loved him." ³⁷ And some of them said, "Could not he which opened the eyes of the blind, have made also, that this man should not have died?" ³⁸ Jesus again groaned in himself and came to the grave: it was a cave, and a stone laid on it.

⁷ Then said Jesus, "Let her alone, against the day of my burying she kept it.

³⁹ And there came also Nicodemus which at the beginning came to Jesus by night, and brought of myrrh and aloes mingled together about a hundred pound weight. ⁴⁰ Then took they the body of Jesus and wound it in linen clothes with the odors as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

²³ him have ye taken by the hands of unrighteous persons, after he was delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, and have crucified and slain him whom God hath raised up:

¹³ The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his son Jesus, whom ye delivered and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had judged him to be loosed: ¹⁴ but ye denied the holy and just, and desired a murderer to be given you, ¹⁵ and killed the Lord of life whom God hath raised from death, of the which we are witnesses:

²⁶ First unto you hath God raised up his son Jesus, and him he hath sent to bless you, that every one of you should turn from your wickedness."

¹⁶ and were translated into Shechem, and were put in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for money of the sons of Hamor, at Shechem.

² Then devout men dressed Stephen, and made great lamentation over him.

¹⁵ which show the deed of the law written in their hearts: While their conscience beareth witness unto them, and also their thoughts, accusing one another, or excusing,

¹² Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by the means of sin; And so death went over all men, insomuch that all men sinned.

²⁸ For we know well that all things work for the best unto them that love God, which also are called of purpose.

¹⁹ Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves but give room unto the wrath of God. For it is written, "Vengeance is mine, and I will reward, saith the Lord." ²⁰ Therefore, if thine enemy hunger, feed him: if he thirst, give him drink. For in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. ²¹ Be not overcome of evil: But overcome evil with goodness.

¹⁰ While we have, therefore, time; let us do good unto all men, and specially, unto them which are of the household of faith.

¹⁶ And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon Israel that pertaineth to God.

³² Be ye courteous one to another, and merciful, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake forgave you.

¹ Children, obey your fathers and mothers in the Lord: for so is it right.

⁴ And ye fathers, move not your children to wrath: but bring them up with the nurture and information of the Lord.

¹² Now therefore as elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercy, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long suffering, ¹³ forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel to another; even as Christ forgave you, even so do ye.

¹³ I would not, brethren, have you ignorant concerning them which are fallen asleep, that ye sorrow not as others do which have no hope.

¹⁵ See that none recompense evil for evil unto any man: but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

⁸ Wherefore though I be bold in Christ to enjoin thee, that which becometh thee; ⁹ yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, though I be as I am, even Paul aged, and now in bonds for Jesus Christ's sake. ¹⁰ I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I begat in my bonds, ¹¹ which in time past was to thee unprofitable: but now profitable both to thee and also to me, ¹² whom I have sent home again. Thou therefore receive him, that is to say mine own heart, ¹³ whom I would fain have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel. ¹⁴ Nevertheless, without thy mind, would I do nothing, that that good which springeth of thee should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly. ¹⁵ Haply he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever, ¹⁶ not now as a servant: but above a servant, I mean a brother beloved, specially to me: but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and also in the Lord? ¹⁷ If thou count me a fellow, receive him as myself. ¹⁸ If he have hurt thee or oweth thee ought, that lay to my charge. ¹⁹ I, Paul, have written it with mine own hand. I will recompense it. So that I do not say to thee how that thou owest unto me even thine own self. ²⁰ Even so, brother, let me enjoy thee in the Lord. Comfort my heart in the Lord.

²⁷ And as it is appointed unto men that they shall once die, and then cometh the judgment,

³⁰ For we know him that hath said, "Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord." And again, "the Lord shall judge his people."

²² By faith Joseph, when he died, remembered the departing of the children of Israel, and gave commandment of his bones.

¹⁶ Knowledge your faults one to another: and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man availeth much, if it be fervent.

⁹ not rendering evil for evil, neither rebuke for rebuke: but contrariwise, bless: remembering that ye are thereunto called, even that ye should be heirs of blessing.
