³ And all the sons of Israel looked on when the fire came down and the glory of Jehovah was upon the house. And they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement and worshiped and gave thanks to Jehovah, saying, For he is good. For his loving kindness is everlasting.

⁶ And the priests stood according to their offices, also the Levites with instruments of music of Jehovah, which David the king had made to give thanks to Jehovah (for his loving kindness is everlasting) when David praised by their ministry and the priests blew trumpets before them. And all Israel stood.

²¹ And when he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who should sing to Jehovah and give praise in holy array, as they went out before the army and say, Give thanks to Jehovah. For his loving kindness is everlasting.

¹¹ And they sang one to another in praising and giving thanks to Jehovah, saying, For he is good, for his loving kindness is everlasting toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised Jehovah, because the foundation of the house of Jehovah was laid.

¹⁷ But the loving kindness of Jehovah is from everlasting to everlasting upon those who fear him and his righteousness to son's sons,

⁵ And the house which I build is great. For our God is great above all gods.

²⁴ O Jehovah, how great are your works! You have made them all in wisdom. The earth is full of your riches.

¹⁹ Jehovah founded the earth by wisdom. He established the heavens by understanding. ²⁰ The depths were broken up and the skies drop down the dew by his knowledge.

²² Jehovah possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of long-ago. ²³ I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth was, ²⁴ when there were no depths. I was brought out when there were no fountains abounding with water, ²⁵ before the mountains were settled, before the hills. I was brought out ²⁶ while as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world.
²⁷ When he established the heavens, I was there. When he set a circle upon the face of the deep, ²⁸ when he made firm the skies above, when the fountains of the deep became strong, ²⁹ when he gave to the sea its boundary that the waters should not transgress his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth,

⁵ Thus says God, Jehovah, he who created the heavens and stretched them forth, he who spread abroad the earth and what comes out of it, he who gives breath to the people upon it and spirit to those who walk in it,

²⁴ Jehovah says thus, your Redeemer and he who formed you from the womb: I am Jehovah, who makes all things, who stretches forth the heavens alone, who spreads abroad the earth (who is with me?),

¹ The burden of the word of Jehovah concerning Israel.
Jehovah says thus, who stretches forth the heavens and lays the foundation of the earth and forms the spirit of man within him:

⁵ For this is eluding them, (willing it to be so): that there were heavens from long-ago, and an earth established out of water and through water by the word of God; ⁶ through which water, the world which was then was destroyed, having been flooded in water. ⁷ But the current heavens and the earth have been stored up for fire by the same word, being kept to the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

¹⁴ And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of heaven to divide the day from the night and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years. ¹⁵ And let them be for lights in the expanse of heaven to give light upon the earth. And it was so.
¹⁶ And God made the two great lights, the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night and also the stars. ¹⁷ And God set them in the expanse of heaven to give light upon the earth, ¹⁸ and to rule over the day and over the night and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. ¹⁹ And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

¹⁹ And lest you lift up your eyes to heaven and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars, even all the host of heaven, you are drawn away and worship them and serve them, which Jehovah your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.

¹⁶ The day is yours; the night is also yours. You have prepared the light and the sun. ¹⁷ You have set all the borders of the earth. You have made summer and winter.

³⁵ Jehovah says thus, who gives the sun for a light by day and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who stirs up the sea, so that the waves of it roar. Jehovah of hosts is his name.

⁴⁵ Do this that you may become sons of your Father who is in the heavens, because his sun rises upon the evil and the good and it rains upon the righteous and the unrighteous.

²⁶ if I have beheld the sun when it shone, or the moon walking in brightness,

³ Because I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have established,

³⁶ His seed will endure everlasting and his throne as the sun before me. ³⁷ It will be established everlasting as the moon and as the faithful witness in the sky. Selah.

⁵ and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt will die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits upon his throne, even to the firstborn of the maid-servant that is behind the mill and all the firstborn of cattle.
⁶ And there will be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there has not been, nor will be any more.

¹² For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night and will kill* all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments. I am Jehovah.

²⁹ And it happened at midnight, that Jehovah killed* all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the house in the pit and all the firstborn of cattle.

⁵¹ and killed* all the firstborn in Egypt, the chief of their strength in the tents of Ham.

³⁶ He also killed* all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.

⁸ who killed* the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast,

²⁸ In faith, he has made the Passover and the splashing of the blood on the door frames, in order that the destroyer of the firstborn should not touch them.

⁵¹ And it happened the same day, that Jehovah brought the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.

³ And Moses said to the people, Remember this day, in which you* came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage, because by strength of hand Jehovah brought you* out from this place. There will no leavened bread be eaten.

¹⁷ And it happened, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not by the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near. For God said, Lest perhaps the people regret when they see war and they return to Egypt.

⁶ And Samuel said to the people, It is Jehovah who appointed Moses and Aaron and who brought your* fathers up out of the land of Egypt. ⁷ Now therefore stand still that I may plead with you* before Jehovah concerning all the righteous acts of Jehovah, which he did to you* and to your* fathers.
⁸ When Jacob had come into Egypt and your* fathers cried to Jehovah, then Jehovah sent Moses and Aaron who brought out your* fathers out of Egypt and made them to dwell in this place.

⁵² But he led forth his own people like sheep and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.

³⁷ And he brought them forth with silver and gold and there was not a feeble soul among his tribes.

⁶ Therefore say to the sons of Israel, I am Jehovah. And I will bring you* out from under the burdens of the Egyptians and I will rid you* out of their bondage and I will redeem you* with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.

¹⁴ And it will be, when your son asks you in time to come, saying, What is this? that you will say to him, By strength of hand Jehovah brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage.

⁶ Your right hand, O Jehovah, is glorious in power. Your right hand, O Jehovah, dashes the enemy in pieces.

³⁴ Or has God ever tried to go and take for him a nation from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs and by wonders and by war and by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm and by great terrors, according to all that Jehovah your* God did for you* in Egypt before your* eyes?

² And you* know this day, for it is not with your* sons who have not known and who have not seen the chastisement of Jehovah your* God, his greatness, his mighty hand and his outstretched arm, ³ and his signs and his works, which he did in the midst of Egypt to Pharaoh the King of Egypt and to all his land, ⁴ and what he did to the army of Egypt, to their horses and to their chariots, how he made the water of the Red Sea to overflow them as they pursued after you* and how Jehovah has destroyed them to this day,

³ Because they did not get the land in possession by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them, but your right hand and your arm and the light of your countenance, because you were favorable to them.

⁹ Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of Jehovah. Awake, as in the days of long-ago, the generations of everlasting. Is it not you who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the monster? ¹⁰ Is it not you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, who made the depths of the sea a way for the redeemed to pass over?

²¹ and brought out your people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and with wonders and with a strong hand and with an outstretched arm and with great terror,

³⁶ This one led them out, having done wonders and signs in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea and in the wilderness for forty years.

²¹ And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea and Jehovah caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all the night and made the sea dry land and the waters were divided. ²² And the sons of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

²⁹ But the sons of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

⁵ Come and see the works of God, awesome in actions toward the sons of men. ⁶ He turned the sea into dry land. They went through the river on foot. We rejoiced in him there.

¹³ You divided the sea by your strength.
You break the heads of the sea-monsters in the waters.

¹³ He divided the sea and caused them to pass through. And he made the waters to stand as a heap.

⁹ He also rebuked the Red Sea and it was dried up. So he led them through the depths as through a wilderness. ¹⁰ And he saved them from the hand of him who hated them and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
¹¹ And the waters covered their adversaries; there was not one of them left.

¹² who caused his glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses, who divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name, ¹³ who led them through the depths, as a horse in the wilderness, so that they stumbled not?

²⁹ In faith, they crossed over the Red Sea as if through dry land; from which the Egyptians having taken an attempt at it, were swallowed up.

²² And the sons of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

⁹ He also rebuked the Red Sea and it was dried up. So he led them through the depths as through a wilderness.

²⁷ And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea and the sea returned to its strength when the morning appeared and the Egyptians fled against it and Jehovah overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
²⁸ And the waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen, even all the army of Pharaoh who went in after them into the sea, there remained not so much as one of them.

⁴ Pharaoh's chariots and his army he has cast into the sea and his chosen captains are sunk in the Red Sea. ⁵ The depths cover them. They went down into the depths like a stone.

¹⁰ You did blow with your wind, the sea covered them. They sank as lead in the mighty waters.
¹¹ Who is like you, O Jehovah, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? ¹² You stretched out your right hand, the earth swallowed them. ¹³ You in your loving kindness have led the people that you have redeemed. You have guided them in your strength to your holy habitation.

¹⁰ and showed signs and wonders upon Pharaoh and on all his servants and on all the people of his land, for you knew that they dealt proudly against them and got you a name, as it is this day. ¹¹ And you divided the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land. And you cast their pursuers into the depths as a stone into the mighty waters.

⁵ You will answer us in righteousness by awesome things, O God of our salvation, you who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth and of those who are from afar off upon the sea,

⁵³ And he led them safely, so that they did not fear, but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.

⁶ Pour out your wrath upon the nations that do not know you and upon the kingdoms that do not call upon your name. ⁷ Because they have devoured Jacob and laid waste his habitation.
⁸ Do not remember against us the iniquities of our forefathers. Let your tender mercies speedily meet us, because we are brought very low. ⁹ Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your name. And deliver us and forgive our sins, for your name's sake.

⁹ who sent signs and wonders into the midst of you, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh and upon all his servants,

¹² And in your loving kindness cut off my enemies and destroy all those who afflict my soul, because I am your servant.

⁷¹ We have salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us; ⁷² to do his mercy with our fathers and his holy covenant to remember. ⁷³ We have the oath which he swore to Abraham our father to give to us, ⁷⁴ having been fearlessly rescued out of the hand of our enemies, to give-divine service to him

¹⁸ But God led the people about, by the way of the wilderness by the Red Sea. And the sons of Israel went up armed out of the land of Egypt.

²² And Moses led Israel onward from the Red Sea and they went out into the wilderness of Shur. And they went three days in the wilderness and found no water.

¹⁷ And whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tent, then after that the sons of Israel journeyed. And in the place where the cloud abode, there the sons of Israel encamped. ¹⁸ At the commandment of Jehovah the sons of Israel journeyed and at the commandment of Jehovah they encamped. As long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they remained encamped. ¹⁹ And when the cloud stayed upon the tabernacle many days, then the sons of Israel kept the charge of Jehovah and did not journey. ²⁰ And sometimes the cloud was a few days upon the tabernacle, then according to the commandment of Jehovah they remained encamped and according to the commandment of Jehovah they journeyed. ²¹ And sometimes the cloud was from evening until morning and when the cloud was taken up in the morning, they journeyed, or if by day and by night, when the cloud was taken up, they journeyed.
²² Whether it was two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud stayed upon the tabernacle, abiding on it, the sons of Israel remained encamped and did not journey, but when it was taken up, they journeyed.

² And you will remember all the way which Jehovah your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, to prove you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments, or not.

¹⁵ who led you through the great and terrible wilderness–fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where was no water–who brought you forth water out of the rock of flint,

¹² Moreover in a pillar of cloud you led them by day and in a pillar of fire by night, to give them light in the way in which they should go.

¹⁹ yet you in your great mercies did not forsake them in the wilderness. The pillar of cloud did not depart from over them by day to lead them in the way, neither the pillar of fire by night to show them light and the way in which they should go.

²⁰ You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

¹⁰ They will not hunger nor thirst, neither will the heat nor sun kill* them. For he who has mercy on them will lead them. He will guide them even by springs of water.

¹¹ Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put his holy Spirit in the midst of them, ¹² who caused his glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses, who divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name, ¹³ who led them through the depths, as a horse in the wilderness, so that they stumbled not? ¹⁴ As the cattle that go down into the valley, the Spirit of Jehovah caused them to rest. So you led your people to make yourself a glorious name.

¹ Now these are the kings of the land, whom the sons of Israel killed* and possessed their land beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise, from the valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon and all the Arabah eastward:
² Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon and ruled from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon and the middle of the valley and half Gilead, even to the brook of Jabbok, the border of the sons of Ammon, ³ and the Arabah to the sea of Chinneroth, eastward and to the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, eastward, the way to Beth-jeshimoth and on the south, under the slopes of Pisgah, ⁴ and the border of Og king of Bashan, of the remnant of the Rephaim, who dwelt at Ashtaroth and at Edrei, ⁵ and ruled in Mount Hermon and in Salecah and in all Bashan, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites and half Gilead, the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.
⁶ Moses the servant of Jehovah and the sons of Israel killed* them. And Moses the servant of Jehovah gave it for a possession to the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh.
⁷ And these are the kings of the land whom Joshua and the sons of Israel killed* beyond the Jordan westward, from Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon even to Mount Halak, that goes up to Seir and Joshua gave it to the tribes of Israel for a possession according to their divisions, ⁸ in the hill-country and in the lowland and in the Arabah and in the slopes and in the wilderness and in the South, the Hittite, the Amorite and the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite:

¹⁰ who killed* many nations and killed mighty kings– ¹¹ Sihon king of the Amorites and Og king of Bashan and all the kingdoms of Canaan– ¹² and gave their land for a heritage, a heritage to Israel his people.

⁷ And when you* came to this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us to battle and we killed* them.

²¹ And Israel sent messengers to Sihon King of the Amorites, saying, ²² Let me pass through your land. We will not turn aside into field, or into vineyard. We will not drink of the water of the wells. We will go by the king's highway, until we have passed your border. ²³ And Sihon would not allow Israel to pass through his border, but Sihon gathered all his people together and went out against Israel into the wilderness and came to Jahaz and he fought against Israel.
²⁴ And Israel killed* him with the edge of the sword and possessed his land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, even to the sons of Ammon, for the border of the sons of Ammon was strong.

³⁰ But Sihon King of Heshbon would not let us pass by him, for Jehovah your God hardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into your hand, as at this day. ³¹ And Jehovah said to me, Behold, I have begun to deliver up Sihon and his land before you. Begin to possess, that you may inherit his land.
³² Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Jahaz. ³³ And Jehovah our God delivered him up before us. And we killed* him and his sons and all his people. ³⁴ And we took all his cities at that time and utterly destroyed every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones; we left none remaining.
³⁵ We only took the cattle for a prey to ourselves, with the spoil of the cities which we had taken. ³⁶ From Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon and from the city that is in the valley, even to Gilead, there was not a city too high for us. Jehovah our God delivered up all before us.

³³ And they turned and went up by the way of Bashan. And Og the King of Bashan went out against them, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.

¹ Then we turned and went up the way to Bashan. And Og the King of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei. ² And Jehovah said to me, Fear him not, for I have delivered him and all his people and his land, into your hand. And you will do to him as you did to Sihon King of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon.
³ So Jehovah our God delivered into our hand Og also, the King of Bashan and all his people and we killed* him until none was left to him remaining. ⁴ And we took all his cities at that time. There was not a city which we did not take from them, sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. ⁵ All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates and bars; besides the un-walled towns a great many. ⁶ And we utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon King of Heshbon, utterly destroying every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones. ⁷ But all the cattle and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves.
⁸ And we took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon ⁹ (the Sidonians call Hermon, Sirion and the Amorites call it Senir), ¹⁰ all the cities of the plain and all Gilead and all Bashan, to Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. ¹¹ (For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the Rephaim. Behold, his couch was a couch of iron. Is it not in Rabbah of the sons of Ammon? Nine cubits was the length of it and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.) ¹² And we took this land in possession at that time. From Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon and half the hill-country of Gilead and the cities of it, I gave to the Reubenites and to the Gadites.
¹³ And the rest of Gilead and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh, all the region of Argob, even all Bashan. The same is called the land of Rephaim. ¹⁴ (Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites and called them, even Bashan, after his own name, Havvoth-jair, to this day.) ¹⁵ And I gave Gilead to Machir.
¹⁶ And I gave to the Reubenites and to the Gadites from Gilead even to the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley and the border of it, even to the brook of Jabbok, which is the border of the sons of Ammon, ¹⁷ also the Arabah and the Jordan and the border of it, from Chinnereth even to the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward.
¹⁸ And I commanded you* at that time, saying, Jehovah your* God has given you* this land to possess it. You* will pass over armed before your* brothers the sons of Israel, all the men of valor. ¹⁹ But your* wives and your* little ones and your* cattle, (I know that you* have much cattle,) will abide in your* cities which I have given you* ²⁰ until Jehovah gives rest to your* brothers, as to you* and they also possess the land which Jehovah your* God gives them beyond the Jordan, then you* will return every man to his possession, which I have given you*.
²¹ And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Your eyes have seen all that Jehovah your* God has done to these two kings. So will Jehovah do to all the kingdoms where you go over. ²² You* will not fear them, for Jehovah your* God, he it is who fights for you*.
²³ And I besought Jehovah at that time, saying, ²⁴ O lord Jehovah, you have begun to show your servant your greatness and your strong hand, for what god is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to your works and according to your mighty acts? ²⁵ Let me go over, I beseech you and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that pleasant mountain and Lebanon.
²⁶ But Jehovah was angry with me because of you* and did not listen to me. And Jehovah said to me, It will be enough for you. Speak no more to me of this matter. ²⁷ You get up to the top of Pisgah and lift up your eyes westward and northward and southward and eastward and behold with your eyes, for you will not go over this Jordan.
²⁸ But charge Joshua and encourage him and strengthen him, for he will go over before this people and he will cause them to inherit the land which you will see. ²⁹ So we abode in the valley opposite Beth-peor.

³³ And Moses gave to them, even to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben and to the half-tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon King of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og King of Bashan, the land, according to the cities of it with their borders, even the cities of the land all around.
³⁴ And the sons of Gad built Dibon and Ataroth and Aroer, ³⁵ and Atroth-shophan and Jazer and Jogbehah, ³⁶ and Beth-nimrah and Beth-haran: fortified cities and folds for sheep.
³⁷ And the sons of Reuben built Heshbon and Elealeh and Kiriathaim, ³⁸ and Nebo and Baal-meon, (their names being changed,) and Sibmah. And they gave other names to the cities which they built.
³⁹ And the sons of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead and took it and dispossessed the Amorites that were in it. ⁴⁰ And Moses gave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh and he dwelt in it. ⁴¹ And Jair the son of Manasseh went and took the towns of it and called them Havvoth-jair. ⁴² And Nobah went and took Kenath and the villages of it and called it Nobah, after his own name.

¹ Now these are the kings of the land, whom the sons of Israel killed* and possessed their land beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise, from the valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon and all the Arabah eastward:
² Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon and ruled from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon and the middle of the valley and half Gilead, even to the brook of Jabbok, the border of the sons of Ammon, ³ and the Arabah to the sea of Chinneroth, eastward and to the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, eastward, the way to Beth-jeshimoth and on the south, under the slopes of Pisgah, ⁴ and the border of Og king of Bashan, of the remnant of the Rephaim, who dwelt at Ashtaroth and at Edrei, ⁵ and ruled in Mount Hermon and in Salecah and in all Bashan, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites and half Gilead, the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.
⁶ Moses the servant of Jehovah and the sons of Israel killed* them. And Moses the servant of Jehovah gave it for a possession to the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh.
⁷ And these are the kings of the land whom Joshua and the sons of Israel killed* beyond the Jordan westward, from Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon even to Mount Halak, that goes up to Seir and Joshua gave it to the tribes of Israel for a possession according to their divisions,

¹ Now Joshua was old and well stricken in years and Jehovah said to him, You are old and well stricken in years and there remains yet very much land to be possessed.
² This is the land that yet remains: all the regions of the Philistines and all the Geshurites; ³ from the Shihor, which is before Egypt, even to the border of Ekron northward, which is reckoned to the Canaanites; the five lords of the Philistines; the Gazites; also the Avvim ⁴ on the south; all the land of the Canaanites and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians, to Aphek, to the border of the Amorites; ⁵ and the land of the Gebalites and all Lebanon, toward the sunrise, from Baal-gad under Mount Hermon to the entrance of Hamath; ⁶ all the inhabitants of the hill-country from Lebanon to Misrephoth-maim, even all the Sidonians. I will drive them out from before the sons of Israel, only allot you it to Israel for an inheritance as I have commanded you.
⁷ Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Manasseh. ⁸ With him the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond the Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of Jehovah gave them: ⁹ from Aroer, that is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon and the city that is in the middle of the valley and all the plain of Medeba to Dibon; ¹⁰ and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, to the border of the sons of Ammon; ¹¹ and Gilead and the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites and all Mount Hermon and all Bashan to Salecah; ¹² all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei (what was left of the remnant of the Rephaim), for these Moses killed* and drove them out.
¹³ Nevertheless the sons of Israel did not drive out the Geshurites, nor the Maacathites, but Geshur and Maacath dwell in the midst of Israel to this day.
¹⁴ Only to the tribe of Levi he gave no inheritance. The offerings of Jehovah, the God of Israel, made by fire are his inheritance as he spoke to him.
¹⁵ And Moses gave to the tribe of the sons of Reuben according to their families. ¹⁶ And their border was from Aroer, that is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon and the city that is in the middle of the valley and all the plain by Medeba; ¹⁷ Heshbon and all its cities that are in the plain; Dibon and Bamoth-baal and Beth-baal-meon, ¹⁸ and Jahaz and Kedemoth and Mephaath, ¹⁹ and Kiriathaim and Sibmah and Zereth-shahar in the mountain of the valley, ²⁰ and Beth-peor and the slopes of Pisgah and Beth-jeshimoth, ²¹ and all the cities of the plain and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses killed* with the chiefs of Midian, Evi and Rekem and Zur and Hur and Reba, the rulers of Sihon who dwelt in the land.

²² Moreover you gave them kingdoms and peoples, which you allotted after their portions. So they possessed the land of Sihon, even the land of the king of Heshbon and the land of Og king of Bashan. ²³ Their sons you also multiplied as the stars of heaven and brought them into the land concerning which you said to their fathers that they should go in to possess it.
²⁴ So the sons went in and possessed the land. And you subdued the inhabitants of the land before them, the Canaanites and gave them into their hands, with their kings and the peoples of the land, that they might do with them as they would.

² You drove out the nations with your hand, but you planted them. You afflicted the peoples, but you spread them abroad.
³ Because they did not get the land in possession by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them, but your right hand and your arm and the light of your countenance, because you were favorable to them.

⁵⁵ He also drove out the nations before them and allotted them for an inheritance by line and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.

⁴⁴ And he gave them the lands of the nations and they took the labor of the peoples in possession,

¹² and gave their land for a heritage, a heritage to Israel his people.

⁴ He chooses our inheritance for us, the glory of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

⁶ O you* seed of Abraham his servant, you* sons of Jacob, his chosen.

¹ And God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the cattle that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth and the waters subsided.

³⁶ For Jehovah will judge his people and regrets for his servants, when he sees that their power has gone and there is none remaining, shut up or left at large.

⁷ Jehovah makes poor and makes rich. He brings low, he also lifts up. ⁸ He raises up the poor out of the dust, he lifts up the needy from the dunghill, to make them sit with rulers and inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are Jehovah's and he has set the world upon them.

¹² Because he will deliver a needy man when he cries and a poor man, who has no helper. ¹³ He will have pity on a poor and needy man and he will save the souls of the needy.
¹⁴ He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence. And their blood will be precious in his sight,

¹⁷ He has regarded the prayer of the destitute and has not despised their prayer.

⁴³ Many times he delivered them, but they were rebellious in their counsel and were brought low in their iniquity.
⁴⁴ Nevertheless he regarded their distress when he heard their cry. ⁴⁵ And he remembered his covenant for them and relented according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.

⁷ He raises up a poor man out of the dust and lifts up a needy man from the dunghill,

⁶ Jehovah preserves the simple. I was brought low and he saved me.

⁶ Attend to my cry, because I am brought very low. Deliver me from my persecutors, because they are stronger than I.

⁹ In all their affliction he was afflicted and the messenger of his presence saved them. In his love and in his pity he redeemed them. And he bore them and carried them all the days of old.

³ and say, The lord Jehovah says thus to Jerusalem: Your birth and your nativity is from the land of the Canaanite. The Amorite was your father and your mother was a Hittite.
⁴ And as for your nativity, in the day you were born your navel was not cut, nor were you washed in water to cleanse you. You were not salted at all, nor swaddled at all. ⁵ No eye pitied you, to do any of these things to you, to have compassion upon you, but you were cast out in the open field. For with loathing of your soul in the day you were born.
⁶ And when I passed by you and saw you treading in your blood, I said to you, Live in your blood! Yes, I said to you, Live in your blood! ⁷ I caused you to multiply as what grows in the field and you increased and grew great. And you attained to excellent ornament, your breasts were fashioned and your hair was grown. Yet you were naked and bare.
⁸ Now when I passed by you and looked upon you, behold, your time was the time of love. And I spread my skirt over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I swore to you and entered into a covenant with you, says the lord Jehovah and you became mine.
⁹ Then I washed you with water. Yes, I thoroughly washed away your blood from you and I anointed you with oil. ¹⁰ I also clothed you with embroidered work and shod you with a certain skin. And I girded you around with fine linen and covered you with silk. ¹¹ And I decked you with ornaments and I put bracelets upon your hands and a chain on your neck. ¹² And I put a ring upon your nose and earrings in your ears and a beautiful crown upon your head.
¹³ Thus you were decked with gold and silver and your garments was of fine linen and silk and embroidered work. You ate fine flour and honey and oil.
And you were very beautiful and you prospered to royalty.

⁴⁸ Because he has looked upon the humbleness of his bondservant; for behold, from hereafter all generations will esteem me fortunate.

⁵² He has taken down sovereigns from their thrones and has exalted the humble.

¹³ You in your loving kindness have led the people that you have redeemed. You have guided them in your strength to your holy habitation.

¹⁵ And you will remember that you were a bondman in the land of Egypt and Jehovah your God redeemed you. Therefore I command you this thing today.

² Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the adversary,

¹⁰ Do not remove the ancient landmark. And do not enter into the fields of the fatherless, ¹¹ because their Redeemer is strong. He will plead their cause against you.

⁶⁸ The Lord, the God of Israel is gracious. Because he has visited and made redemption for his people, ⁶⁹ and has lifted up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his young-servant David, ⁷⁰ (just-as he spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets that have been from the ages past).

¹⁴ who gave himself on our behalf, in order that he might redeem us away from all lawlessness and might cleanse a treasured people for himself, zealous of good works.

²⁷ These all wait for you, that you may give them their food in due season.

¹⁵ The eyes of all wait for you and you give them their food in due season.

⁹ He gives to the beast his food and to the young ravens which cry.

⁴ And it happened, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept and mourned certain days. And I fasted and prayed before the God of heaven,

³ But our God is in the heavens. He has done whatever he pleased.

¹ I lift up my eyes to you, O you who sit in the heavens.

¹ O give thanks to Jehovah, because he is good, because his loving kindness is everlasting.
² O give thanks to the God of gods, for his loving kindness is everlasting.
³ O give thanks to the Lord of lords, because his loving kindness is everlasting,

⁹ And he said to them, I am a Hebrew and I fear Jehovah, the God of heaven, who has made the sea and the dry land.

¹³ And in that day there became a great earthquake and the tenth part of the city fell, and the names of seven thousand men were killed in the earthquake and the rest became fearful and gave glory to the God of heaven.
