¹⁰ And Saul thought to strike David even to the wall with the spear. But he burst forth from Saul's presence, and he struck the spear into the wall. And David fled and escaped that night. ¹¹ Saul also sent messengers to David's house to watch him and to kill him in the morning. And Michal answered Saul, He said to me, Let me go; why should I kill you?

³³ And Saul threw a spear at him to strike him, and by this Jonathan knew that his father was determined to kill David.

⁸ But all of you have conspired against me, and none of you was revealing in my ear when my son cut a covenant with the son of Jesse? ¹⁹ And the men of Ziph came up to Saul, to Gibeah, saying, Does not David hide himself with us in strongholds in the forest, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of the wilderness? ²⁰ And now, O king, come down according to all the desire of your soul. Come down, and it is for us to shut him up into the king's hand.

⁹ And David said to Saul, Why do you hear man's words, saying, Behold, David seeks to do you evil?

¹ And Ahithophel said to Absalom, Please let me choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David tonight. ² And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak-handed, and I will make him tremble. And all the people with him will flee. And I will strike the king by himself. ³ And I will bring back all the people to you, when all return, except the man whom you are seeking. All the people shall be in peace. ⁴ And the saying pleased Absalom very much, and all the elders of Israel.

²⁵ Do not go out into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and fear are on every side.

¹⁹ But I was like a docile lamb being brought to the slaughter. And I did not know that they had plotted evils against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, so that his name may be remembered no more.

³ And it happened on the next day, Pashur brought Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then Jeremiah said to him, Jehovah has not called your name Pashur, but Terror from All Around. ⁴ For so says Jehovah, Behold, I will make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends. And they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and your eyes shall behold it. And I will give all Judah into the king of Babylon's hand, and he will exile them into Babylon, and kill them with the sword.

¹⁰ For I heard the slanders of many, Terror is all around! Expose! Yea, let us expose him! Every man of my peace is watching for my fall, saying, Perhaps he will be lured away, and we shall prevail over him, and we shall take our revenge on him.

²² You have called as in a solemn day my terrors all around, and there was not an escaped one or a survivor in the day of Jehovah's anger. Those whom I have nursed and multiplied, my enemy has consumed.

³ Then the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, assembled together to the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas. ⁴ And they consulted so that they might take Jesus by guile and kill Him.

⁵⁹ And the chief priests and the elders and all the sanhedrin sought false witness against Jesus, in order to put Him to death.

¹ And it becoming early morning, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put Him to death.

¹ And rising up, all the multitude of them led Him before Pilate. ² And they began to accuse Him, saying, We have found this one perverting the nation and forbidding them to give tribute to Caesar, saying himself to be a king, Christ.

⁵ And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place.
