²⁸ But He said, No; rather, blessed are they who hear the Word of God and keep it.

¹ Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners, and has not sat in the seat of the scornful. ² But his delight is only in the Law of Jehovah; and in His Law he meditates day and night. ³ And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivulets of water that brings forth its fruit in its seasons, and its leaf shall not wither, and all which he does shall be blessed.

¹ Praise Jehovah! Blessed is the man who fears Jehovah, who delights greatly in His Commandments.

¹ ALEPH: Blessed are the upright in the way, who walk in the Law of Jehovah. ² Blessed are they who keep His testimonies, and who seek Him with all the heart. ³ They also do no iniquity; they walk in His ways. ⁴ You have commanded us to keep Your Commandments carefully. ⁵ O that my ways were fixed to keep Your Precepts! ⁶ Then I shall not be ashamed, when I have respect to all Your Commandments.

¹ A Song of degrees. Blessed is everyone who fears Jehovah, who walks in His ways.

¹⁷ So says Jehovah, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, I am Jehovah your God who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way that you should go. ¹⁸ Oh that you had paid attention to My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

²¹ Not everyone who says to Me, Lord! Lord! shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven. ²² Many will say to Me in that day, Lord! Lord! Did we not prophesy in Your name, and through Your name throw out demons, and through Your name do many wonderful works? ²³ And then I will say to them I never knew you! Depart from Me, those working lawlessness! ²⁴ Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock. ²⁵ And the rain came down, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house. And it did not fall, for it was founded on a rock.

⁴⁸ And He answered and said to him who told Him, Who is My mother? And who are My brothers? ⁴⁹ And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, Behold, My mother and My brothers! ⁵⁰ For whoever shall do the will of My Father in Heaven, the same is My brother and sister and mother.

⁴⁷ Whoever comes to Me and hears My Words, and does them, I will show you to whom he is like. ⁴⁸ He is like a man who built a house and dug deep and laid the foundation on a rock; and a flood occurring, the stream burst against that house and could not shake it; for it was founded on a rock.

²¹ And He answered and said to them, My mother and My brothers are those who hear the Word of God and do it.

¹⁷ If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

²¹ Therefore putting aside all filthiness and overflowing of evil, receive in meekness the implanted Word, which is able to save your souls. ²² But become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. ²³ For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man studying his natural face in a mirror. ²⁴ For he studied himself and went his way, and immediately he forgot what he was like. ²⁵ But whoever looks into the perfect Law of liberty and continues in it, he is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work. This one shall be blessed in his doing.

²¹ Beloved, if our heart does not accuse us, we have confidence toward God. ²² And whatever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. ²³ And this is His commandment, that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment. ²⁴ And he who keeps His commandment dwells in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit which He gave to us.

¹⁴ Blessed are they who do His commandments, that their authority will be over the Tree of Life, and they may enter in by the gates into the city.
