1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God: 2 as it is written in the Prophets, "Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who shall prepare Your way before You. 3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight." 4 John came baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. 5 And all the land of Judea, and those of Jerusalem, went out to him and were all baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins. 6 And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a leather girdle about his loin. And he ate locusts and wild honey. 7 And he proclaimed, saying, There is One coming after me who is mightier than I, the thong of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down to loosen. 8 I indeed have baptized you in water, but He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit. 9 And it happened in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And immediately coming up out of the water, He saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him. 11 And there came a voice from Heaven, saying, You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 12 And immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness. 13 And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan. And He was with the wild beasts, and the angels ministered to Him. 14 And after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God draws near. Repent, and believe the gospel. 16 And walking along beside the sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 17 And Jesus said to them, Come after Me and I will make you fishers of men. 18 And immediately they left their nets and followed Him. 19 And when He going farther from there a little, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending their nets. 20 And immediately He called them. And they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants and went after Him. 21 And they went into Capernaum. And immediately on the sabbath day He entered into the synagogue and taught. 22 And they were astonished at His doctrine. For He taught them as one who had authority, and not like the scribes. 23 And in their synagogue was a man with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, 24 saying, What is to us and to You, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know You, who You are, the Holy One of God. 25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be quiet, and come out of him. 26 And the unclean spirit, convulsing him, and crying with a loud voice, he came out of him. 27 They all were amazed, so as to question among themselves, saying, What is this? What new doctrine is this? For He even commands the unclean spirits with authority, and they obey Him. 28 And immediately His fame went out into all the Galilean neighborhood. 29 And immediately after they had come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 30 But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and at once they told Him about her. 31 And He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up. And instantly the fever left her, and she served them. 32 And at evening, when the sun set, they brought all those who were diseased to Him, and those who had been demon-possessed. 33 And all the city had gathered at the door. 34 And He healed many who were sick of different diseases, and cast out many demons. And He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him. 35 And rising up quite early in the night, He went out and went away into a deserted place, and He was praying there. 36 And Simon, and those with him, searched for Him. 37 And finding Him, they said to Him, All are seeking You. 38 And He said to them, Let us go into the next towns so that I may proclaim there also. For that reason I came forth. 39 And He proclaimed in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out demons. 40 And a leper came to Him, begging Him and kneeling down to Him, and saying to Him, If You will, You can make me clean. 41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put out His hand and touched him, and said to him, I will; be clean! 42 And He having spoken, the leprosy instantly departed from him and he was cleansed. 43 And He strictly charged him and immediately sent him away, 44 and He said to him, See that you say nothing to anyone. But go and show yourself to the priest, and offer those things which Moses commanded for your cleansing, for a testimony to them. 45 But going out, he began to proclaim it very much, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was outside in deserted places. And they came to Him from every quarter.

1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying, 2 When a man has a rising in the skin of his flesh, or a scab or bright spot, and it is in the skin of his flesh like the plague of leprosy, then he shall be brought to Aaron the priest, or to one of his sons the priests. 3 And the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh. And if the hair in the plague has turned white, and the plague in sight is deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of leprosy. And the priest shall look on him and shall pronounce him unclean. 4 And if the bright spot is white in the skin of his flesh, and in sight is not deeper than the skin, and the hair of it has not turned white, then the priest shall shut up the plague seven days. 5 And the priest shall look on him the seventh day. And behold, if the plague in his sight is stayed; the plague has not spread in the skin, then the priest shall shut him up seven days more. 6 And the priest shall look on him again in the seventh day. And, behold, if the plague is somewhat dark; the plague has not spread in the skin, the priest shall pronounce him clean. It is a scab. And he shall wash his clothes and be clean. 7 But if the scab spreads greatly in the skin after he has been seen by the priest for his cleansing, he shall be seen by the priest again. 8 And if the priest sees that, behold, the scab spreads in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is a leprosy. 9 When the plague of leprosy is in a man, then he shall be brought to the priest. 10 And the priest shall look. And, behold, if the rising is white in the skin, and it has turned the hair white and there is live raw flesh in the rising, 11 it is an old leprosy in the skin of his flesh. And the priest shall pronounce him unclean, and shall not shut him up, for he is unclean. 12 And if a leprosy breaks out greatly on the skin, and the leprosy covers all the skin of the one who has the plague from his head even to his foot, to all that appears to the eyes of the priest, 13 then the priest shall look. And behold, if the leprosy has covered all his flesh, he shall pronounce the plague-spot clean. It has all turned white. He is clean. 14 But when raw flesh appears in him, he shall be unclean.

Leviticus 14:1-32

1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, 2 This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing. He shall be brought to the priest. 3 And the priest shall go forth out of the camp. And the priest shall look, and behold, if the plague of leprosy is healed in the leper, 4 then the priest shall command to take two clean live birds for him that is to be cleansed, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop. 5 And the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel over running water. 6 He shall take the living bird, and the cedar wood and the scarlet and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the slain bird, over the running water. 7 And he shall sprinkle on him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field. 8 And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water so that he may be clean. And after that he shall come into the camp, and shall stay outside his tent seven days. 9 But on the seventh day he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eye-brows; even all his hair shall he shave off. And he shall wash his clothes. He also shall wash his flesh in water, and he shall be clean. 10 And on the eighth day he shall take two male lambs without blemish, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish, and three-tenth parts of fine flour for a food offering, mixed with oil, and one log of oil. 11 And the priest who is cleansing, and the man who is to be cleansed, shall stand with them before Jehovah at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 12 And the priest shall take one male lamb and offer him for a trespass offering, and the log of oil, and wave them for a wave offering before Jehovah. 13 And he shall kill the lamb in the place where he shall kill the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the holy place. For as the sin offering is the priest's, so is the trespass offering. It is most holy. 14 And the priest shall take of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. 15 And the priest shall take from the log of oil and pour into the palm of his own left hand. 16 And the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil in his left hand and shall sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before Jehovah. 17 And of the rest of the oil in his hand, the priest shall put on the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the blood of the trespass offering. 18 And the rest of the oil in the priest's palm he shall pour on the head of him that is to be cleansed. And the priest shall make an atonement for him before Jehovah. 19 And the priest shall offer the sin offering and make an atonement for him that is to be cleansed from his uncleanness. And afterward he shall kill the burnt offering. 20 And the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the food offering on the altar. And the priest shall make an atonement for him, and he shall be clean. 21 And if he is poor and his hand cannot reach so much, then he shall take one lamb for a trespass offering to be waved, to make an atonement for him, and one-tenth part of fine flour mixed with oil for a food offering, and a log of oil, 22 and two turtle-doves or two young pigeons, such as his hand can reach. And the one shall be a sin offering, and the other a burnt offering. 23 And he shall bring them on the eighth day for his cleansing to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before Jehovah. 24 And the priest shall take the lamb of the trespass offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before Jehovah. 25 And he shall kill the lamb of the trespass offering. And the priest shall take from the blood of the trespass offering, and put it on the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. 26 And the priest shall pour of the oil into the palm of his own left hand. 27 And the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before Jehovah. 28 And the priest shall put of the oil in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the place of the blood of the trespass offering. 29 And the rest of the oil in the priest's hand he shall put on the head of him that is to be cleansed, to make an atonement for him before Jehovah. 30 And he shall offer the one of the turtle-doves, or of the young pigeons, such as he is able to get, 31 even such as he is able to reach, the one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering, with the food offering. And the priest shall make an atonement for him that is to be cleansed before Jehovah. 32 This is the law of him in whom is the plague of leprosy, whose hand is not able to reach in his cleansing.

And you shall recover him of his leprosy. 7 And it happened when the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends to me to recover a man from his leprosy? For consider now, and see, for he is coiling himself toward me. 8 And it happened when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, he sent to the king, saying, Why have you torn your clothes? Let him now come to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel. 9 And Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha. 10 And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall come to you, and you shall be clean. 11 But Naaman was angry, and went away. And he said, Behold, I said within myself, He will surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of Jehovah his God, and strike his hand over the place and recover the leper. 12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? May I not wash in them, and be clean? And he turned and went away in a rage. 13 And his servants came near and spoke to him and said, My father, if the prophet had told you to do a great thing, would you not have done it? How much rather then, when he says to you, Wash and be clean? 14 And he went down and dipped seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God. And his flesh came again like the flesh of a little boy, and he was clean. 15 And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company. And he came and stood before him. And he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel. And now please take a blessing from your servant. 16 But he said, As Jehovah lives, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it, but he refused. 17 And Naaman said, Please shall there not then be given to your servant two mules' burden of earth? For your servant will from now on offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice to other gods, but to Jehovah. 18 In this thing may Jehovah pardon your servant, that when my master goes to the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he is supported by my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon; when I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, may Jehovah pardon your servant in this thing. 19 And he said to him, Go in peace. And he went away from him a little way. 20 And Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master has spared Naaman the Syrian, in not receiving at his hand that which he brought. But, as Jehovah lives, I will run after him and take something from him. 21 And Gehazi followed after Naaman. And Naaman saw him running after him, and descended down from the chariot to meet him. And he said, Is all well? 22 And he said, All is well. My master has sent me, saying, Behold, this now, two young men from Mount Ephraim of the sons of the prophets have come to me. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of clothing. 23 And Naaman said, Be content, take two talents. And he urged him and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of clothing. And he laid them on two of his servants. And they carried them before him. 24 And he came to the hill, and he took from their hand and stowed them in the house. And he let the men go, and they departed. 25 And he went in and stood before his master. And Elisha said to him, Where from, Gehazi? And he said, Your servant did not go here or there. 26 And he said to him, Did not my heart go with you when the man turned again from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive silver and to receive clothing and olive-yards and vineyards and sheep and oxen and menservants and maidservants? 27 And the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and to your seed forever. 37 And a report about Him went out into every place of the neighborhood. 38 And rising up from the synagogue, He entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was being seized with a great fever. And they asked Him for her. 39 And standing over her, He rebuked the fever. And it left her. And immediately she arose and served them. 40 And the sun sinking, all, as many as had sick ones with different kinds of diseases brought them to Him. And laying hands on each of them, He healed them. 41 And also demons came out of many, crying out and saying, You are the Christ, the Son of God! And rebuking them, He did not allow them to speak; for they knew Him to be the Christ. 42 And day coming on, going out, He went into a deserted place. And the crowds looked for Him and came to Him, and held Him fast, not to pass away from them. 43 And He said to them, I must proclaim the gospel, the kingdom of God, to other cities, because I was sent on this mission,

But the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets. 3 And He entered into one of the boats, which was Simon's, He asked him to thrust out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the people out of the boat. 4 And as He stopped speaking, He said to Simon, Launch out into the deep and let your nets down for a haul. 5 And answering, Simon said to Him, Master, we have toiled all the night and have taken nothing. Yet at Your word I will let down the net. 6 And doing this, they enclosed a great multitude of fish. And their net was being torn. 7 And they signaled the partners, those in the other boat, to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they were sinking. 8 And seeing, Simon Peter fell at the knees of Jesus, saying, Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord. 9 For he and all who were with him were astonished at the haul of fish which they had taken, 10 and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, Do not fear, from now on you will be taking men alive.

Luke 7:27-28

27 This is he of whom it is written, "Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who shall prepare Your way before You." 28 For I say to you, Among those who are born of woman there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist. But he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

Luke 8:1

1 And it happened afterwards, He traveled in every city and village, proclaiming and announcing the gospel of the kingdom of God. John 1:19-34

19 And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who are you? 20 And he confessed and did not deny, but confessed, I am not the Christ. 21 And they asked him, What then? Are you Elijah? And he says, I am not. Are you that prophet? And he answered, No. 22 Then they said to him, Who are you so that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say of yourself? 23 He said, I am "the voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the Lord," as the prophet Isaiah said. 24 And they who were sent were from the Pharisees. 25 And they asked him and said, Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor that Prophet? 26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water, but One stands among you whom you do not know. 27 He it is who, coming after me, who has been before me; of whom I am not worthy to loosen the thong of His sandal.

John 1:27

28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing. 29 The next day John sees Jesus coming to him and says, Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is He of whom I said, After me comes a Man who has been before me, for He preceded me. 31 And I did not know Him, but that He be revealed to Israel, therefore I have come baptizing with water. 32 And John bore record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from Heaven like a dove, and He abode on Him. 33 And I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water, that One said to me, Upon whom you shall see the Spirit descending, and remaining upon Him, He is the One who baptizes with the Holy Spirit. 34 And I saw and bore record that this is the Son of God.

34 And I saw and bore record that this is the Son of God.

40 One of the two who heard John and followed Him was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. 41 He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, We have found the Messiah (which is, being translated, the Christ). 42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus saw him, He said, You are Simon the son of Jonah; you shall be called Cephas (which translated is, A stone).

30 He must increase, but I must decrease. 31 He who comes from above is above all; he who is from the earth is earthly and speaks from the earth. He who comes from Heaven is above all,

John 3:31-31

31 He who comes from above is above all; he who is from the earth is earthly and speaks from the earth. He who comes from Heaven is above all, 32 and what He has seen and heard, that He testifies, and no one receives His testimony. 33 He who has received His testimony has set his seal to this, that God is true. 34 For He whom God has sent speaks the Words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. 35 The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand. 36 He who believes on the Son has everlasting life, and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides upon him.

And they said to him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. 53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, Your son lives. And he himself believed, and his whole house.

John 5:20-23

20 For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all the things that He Himself does. And He will show Him greater works than these, so that you may marvel. 21 For as the Father raises the dead and makes alive, even so the Son of Man makes alive whomever He wills. 22 For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son, 23 so that all should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

And God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. 22 And when He had removed him, He raised up David to them to be their king; to whom He also witnessed and said, I have found David the son of Jesse to be a man after My own heart, who shall fulfill all My will. 23 Of this man's seed God has raised to Israel, according to His promise, a Savior, Jesus; 24 John having before proclaimed the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel, before His coming.

25 And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Who do you think that I am? I am not He. But behold, One comes after me, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to loose. 26 Men, brothers, sons of the race of Abraham, and whoever among you fears God, the Word of this salvation is sent to you. 27 For those living in Jerusalem, and their rulers, not having known this One, and the voices of the Prophets being read throughout every sabbath, condemning Him, they fulfilled the Scriptures. 28 And finding not one cause of death in Him, they begged Pilate to do away with Him. 29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning Him, taking Him down from the tree, they laid Him in a tomb. 30 But God raised Him from the dead, 31 who appeared for many days by those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people. 32 And we preach the gospel to you, the promise made to the fathers, 33 this God has fulfilled to us their children, raising up Jesus, as also it is written in the second Psalm, "You are My Son, this day I have begotten You." 34 And that He raised Him up from the dead, no more to return to corruption, He spoke in this way: "I will give you the holy promises of David." 35 Therefore he also says in another psalm, "You shall not allow Your Holy One to see corruption." 36 For after he had served his own generation by the will of God, David fell asleep and was added to his fathers and saw corruption. 37 But He whom God raised again saw no corruption. 38 Therefore be it known to you, men, brothers, that through this One the forgiveness of sins is announced to you. 39 And by Him all who believe are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the Law of Moses. 40 Therefore beware lest that come on you which is spoken of in the Prophets: 41 "Behold, you despisers, and marvel, and perish; for I work a work in your days, a work which you shall in no way believe, though a man declare it to you." 42 And the Jews having gone out of the synagogue, the nations begged that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. 43 And the synagogue being broken up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. 44 And on the coming sabbath day almost all the city came together to hear the Word of God.

Acts 13:44

But since indeed you put it far from you and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the nations. 47 For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, "I have set You to be a light of the nations, for salvation to the end of the earth." 48 And hearing, the nations rejoiced and glorified the Word of the Lord. And as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. 49 And the Word of the Lord was carried throughout all the country. 50 But the Jews stirred up the devout and honorable women, and the chief ones of the city, and raised a persecution against Paul and Barnabas. And they threw them out of their borders. 51 But shaking the dust of their feet off on them, they came into Iconium. 52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
