¹ And the Angel of Jehovah came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you go up out of Egypt, and have brought you into the land which I swore to your fathers. And I said, I will never break My covenant with you.

⁷ And Jehovah appeared to Abram and said, I will give this land to your seed. And he built an altar there to Jehovah who appeared to him.

⁷ And the Angel of Jehovah found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur. ⁸ And He said, Hagar, Sarai's slave, where did you come from? and where will you go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai. ⁹ And the Angel of Jehovah said to her, Return to your mistress and submit yourself under her hands. ¹⁰ And the Angel of Jehovah said to her, I will multiply your seed exceedingly, so that it shall not be numbered for multitude.

¹³ And she called the name of Jehovah who had spoken to her, You are a God of vision! For she said, Even here have I looked after Him that sees me?

⁷ And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your seed after you in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you and to your seed after you. ⁸ And I will give the land to you in which you are a stranger, and to your seed after you, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession. And I will be their God.

¹¹ And the Angel of Jehovah called to him from the heavens and said, Abraham! Abraham! And he said, Here am I. ¹² And He said, Do not lay your hand on the lad, nor do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only one, from Me.

¹⁶ and said, I have sworn by Myself, says Jehovah; because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only one; ¹⁷ that in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed like the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is upon the seashore. And your Seed shall possess the gate of His enemies.

³ Reside in this land, and I will be with you and bless you. For to you and to your seed I will give all these lands; and I will establish the oath which I swore to Abraham your father. ⁴ And I will make your seed to multiply as the stars of the heavens, and will give to your seed all these lands. And in your Seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed,

¹⁶ the Angel who redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads. And let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and let them grow like the fishes into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

² And the Angel of Jehovah appeared to him in a flame of fire, out of the midst of a thorn bush. And he looked. And behold! The thorn bush burned with fire! And the thorn bush was not burned up. ³ And Moses said, I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the thorn bush is not burned up. ⁴ And Jehovah saw that he had turned aside to see. God called to him out of the midst of the thorn bush, and said, Moses! Moses! And he said, Here I am. ⁵ And He said, Do not come near here. Pull off your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you stand is holy ground. ⁶ And He said, I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God. ⁷ And Jehovah said, I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt; I have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows. ⁸ And I am coming down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, to bring them up out of that land, to a good land, a large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites and the Jebusites.

¹⁴ Jehovah shall fight for you, and you shall be silent.

¹⁹ And the Angel of God, the one who went before the camp of Israel, moved. And he went to the rear of them. And the pillar of the cloud went from in front of their face and it stood behind them.

² I am Jehovah your God, who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

²⁰ Behold, I send an Angel before you, to keep you in the way, and to bring you to the place which I have prepared.

¹⁴ And He said, My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.

⁴² then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and also My covenant with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham I will remember. And I will remember the land.

⁴⁴ And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I hate them, to destroy them utterly and to break My covenant with them. For I am Jehovah their God.

³⁴ According to the number of the days in which you searched the land, forty days, each day for a year you shall bear your iniquities, forty years; and you shall know My alienation.

³⁴ Or has God gone forth to take a nation for Himself from the midst of a nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that Jehovah your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

⁹ Therefore, know that Jehovah your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations.

¹⁰ And Joshua said, By this you shall know that the living God is among you, and He will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.

¹³ And it happened, when Joshua was beside Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked. And, behold, there stood a Man in front of him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, Are You for us, or for our foes? ¹⁴ And He said, No, but I have come as the Commander of the army of Jehovah. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth. And he worshiped and said to Him, What does my Lord say to His servant?

⁵ And they called the name of that place The Place of Weeping. And they sacrificed there to Jehovah.

¹¹ And the Angel of Jehovah came and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite. And his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites. ¹² And the Angel of Jehovah appeared to him, and said to him, Jehovah is with you, mighty warrior.

³ And the Angel of Jehovah appeared to the woman and said to her, Behold now, you are barren and do not bear. But you shall conceive and bear a son.

⁵¹ and struck all the first-born in Egypt, the first of the strong in the tents of Ham; ⁵² and led His people forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock. ⁵³ And He led them on safely, so that they did not fear; but the sea flooded over their enemies.

³⁴ I will not break My covenant, nor change the thing that has gone out of My lips.

³⁶ He also struck all the first-born in their land, the chief of all their strength. ³⁷ He also brought them out with silver and gold; and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. ³⁸ Egypt was glad when they departed; for the fear of them had fallen on them.

⁴⁴ and gave them the lands of the nations; and they inherited the labor of the people, ⁴⁵ so that they might take heed to His Precepts and keep His Laws. Praise Jehovah!

⁹ In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the Angel of His Presence saved them; in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bore them, and carried them all the days of old.

²¹ Do not abhor us for Your name's sake, do not disgrace the throne of Your glory; remember, do not break Your covenant with us.

²⁰ So says Jehovah: If you can break My covenant of the day and My covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season, ²¹ then also may My covenant with David My servant be broken, that he should not have a son to reign on his throne, and My covenant with the Levites the priests, My ministers.

³ He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God. ⁴ Yes, he wept and cried to Him, and he had power over the Angel and overcame. He found him in Bethel, and there He spoke with us, ⁵ even Jehovah, the God of Hosts. Jehovah is His memorial.

¹ And He showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of Jehovah, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. ² And Jehovah said to Satan, May Jehovah rebuke you, Satan! May even Jehovah who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked out of the fire?

¹⁰ And I took my staff Kindness, and broke it apart, to break My covenant which I had made with all the peoples.

¹ Behold, I will send My messenger, and He will clear the way before Me. And Jehovah, whom you seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Angel of the Covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He comes, says Jehovah of Hosts.

³⁰ And forty years being fulfilled to him, the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in the desert of Mount Sinai in a flame of fire in a bush. ³¹ And seeing it, Moses marveled at the sight. And as he drew near to see, the voice of the Lord came to him: ³² saying, "I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." But Moses trembled and dared not look. ³³ Then the Lord said to him, "Loosen the sandal on your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground."
