¹ Beloved, I now write this second letter to you, in which I stir up your pure mind by reminder

⁴ He who has clean hands and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to vanity, and has not sworn deceitfully.

¹ A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God is good to Israel, to the pure of heart.

⁸ Blessed are the pure in heart! For they shall see God.

² I told you before, and I say beforehand, as being present the second time and being absent now. I write to those who sinned before, and to all the rest, that if I come again, I will not spare.

²² Do not lay hands quickly on anyone, neither be partaker of the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.

⁶ Therefore I remind you to inflame anew the gift of God, which is in you by the putting on of my hands.

¹ Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect sojourners of the Dispersion of Pontus, of Galatia, of Cappadocia, of Asia, and of Bithynia, ² according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, to obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. May grace and peace be multiplied to you.

²² Purifying your souls in the obedience of the truth through the Spirit to unfeigned love of the brothers, love one another fervently out of a pure heart,

¹² Therefore I will not neglect to put you always in remembrance of these things, though you know them and are established in the present truth. ¹³ But I think it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by a reminder, ¹⁴ knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle is soon, as indeed our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. ¹⁵ And I will also be diligent to cause you to always have memory of these things after my departure.
