¹ Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect sojourners of the Dispersion of Pontus, of Galatia, of Cappadocia, of Asia, and of Bithynia, ² according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, to obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. May grace and peace be multiplied to you. ³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has regenerated us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, ⁴ to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled, and unfading, reserved in Heaven for you ⁵ by the power of God, having been kept through faith to a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time; ⁶ in which you greatly rejoice, yet a little while, if need be, grieving in manifold temptations; ⁷ so that the trial of your faith (being much more precious than that of gold that perishes, but being proven through fire) might be found to praise and honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, ⁸ whom having not seen, you love; in whom not yet seeing, but believing in Him you exult with unspeakable joy, and having been glorified, ⁹ obtaining the end of your faith, the salvation of your souls. ¹⁰ About which salvation the prophets sought out and searched out, prophesying concerning the grace for you; ¹¹ searching for what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ made clear within them, testifying beforehand of the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow. ¹² To them it was revealed that not to themselves, but to us, they ministered the things which are now reported to you by those who have preached the gospel to you in the Holy Spirit sent from Heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. ¹³ Therefore girding up the loins of your mind, being sober, perfectly hope for the grace being brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ, ¹⁴ as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance, ¹⁵ but according to the Holy One who has called you, you also become holy in all conduct, ¹⁶ because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy." ¹⁷ And if you call on the Father, who without respect of persons judges according to the work of each one, pass the time of your earthly residence in fear, ¹⁸ knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, silver or gold, from your vain manner of life handed down from your fathers, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot; ²⁰ indeed having been foreknown before the foundation of the world, but revealed in the last times for you, ²¹ those believing in God through Him, He who raised Him up from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God. ²² Purifying your souls in the obedience of the truth through the Spirit to unfeigned love of the brothers, love one another fervently out of a pure heart, ²³ having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the living Word of God, and abiding forever. ²⁴ For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of men as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls out, ²⁵ but the Word of the Lord endures forever. And this is the Word preached as gospel to you.

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He will bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.

¹¹ And you shall eat of it this way, with your loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. And you shall eat it in a hurry. It is Jehovah's passover.

²⁰ And the cherubs shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy-seat with their wings, and their faces each toward the other; toward the mercy-seat shall the cherubs' faces be.

⁶ And Jehovah passed by before him and proclaimed, Jehovah! Jehovah God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,

⁴⁴ For I am Jehovah your God, and you shall sanctify yourselves, and you shall be holy, for I am holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves with any kind of swarming thing that swarms on the earth.

² Speak to all the congregation of the sons of Israel and say to them, You shall be holy, for I, Jehovah your God, am holy.

⁷ And you shall sanctify yourselves, and be holy. For I am Jehovah your God.

³³ And I will scatter you among the nations, and will draw out a sword after you. And your land shall be waste, and your cities waste.

²⁷ And Jehovah shall scatter you among the nations, and you shall be left few in number among the nations where Jehovah shall drive you.

⁶ For you are a holy people to Jehovah your God. Jehovah your God has chosen you to be a special people to Himself above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

¹⁷ For Jehovah your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, the mighty, and a terrible God, who does not respect persons nor take a bribe.

⁶⁴ And Jehovah shall scatter you among all people, from the one end of the earth even to the other, and you shall serve other gods there, which neither you nor your fathers have known, wood and stone.

²⁶ I said I would dash them to pieces; I would make the memory of them to cease from among men,

¹ And Hannah prayed and said, My heart rejoices in Jehovah, my horn is exalted in Jehovah. My mouth is enlarged over my enemies because I rejoice in Your salvation.

⁹ He keeps the feet of his saints, and the wicked are silenced in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

³⁰ And Jehovah, the God of Israel says, I said indeed, Your house and the house of your father should walk before Me forever. But now Jehovah says, Be it far from Me! For those who honor Me I will honor, and those that think little of Me shall be lightly regarded.

¹⁵ And he said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to David my father, and has fulfilled it by His hand, saying,

⁴⁶ And the hand of Jehovah was on Elijah. And he girded up his loins and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

²⁹ Then he said to Gehazi, Bind up your loins and take my staff in your hand, and go. If you meet any man, do not greet him. And if any greet you, do not answer him again. And lay my staff on the face of the child.

²⁶ And their people were of small power, they were fearful and put to shame. They were like the grass of the field, and the green herb, like the grass on the house-tops, and like grain blasted before it was grown up.

¹⁰ And David blessed Jehovah before all the congregation. And David said, Blessed are You, Jehovah, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever. ¹¹ O Jehovah, Yours is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty. For all in the heavens and in the earth is Yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Jehovah, and You lift up Yourself to all as Head. ¹² And the riches and the honor are from You, and You reign over all. And in Your hand is power and might. And it is in Your hand to make great and to give strength to all. ¹³ And now, our God, we thank You and praise Your glorious name.

¹⁵ For we are strangers before You, and pilgrims, as our fathers were. Our days on the earth are like a shadow, and none abides.

²⁰ And David said to all the congregation, Now bless Jehovah your God! And all the congregation blessed Jehovah, the God of their fathers, and bowed and worshiped Jehovah, and bowed to the king.

⁷ And now let the fear of Jehovah be on you. Be careful and act wisely, for there is no iniquity with Jehovah our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.

⁸ And Haman said to King Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people, in all the provinces of your kingdom. And their laws are different from all people, neither do they keep the king's laws. And it is not for the king's gain to allow them to live.

²⁷ If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will depart from my heaviness and be of good cheer, ²⁸ I am afraid of all my sorrows; I know that You will not hold me innocent.

²⁵ For I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall rise on the earth at the last;

¹⁰ But He knows the way that I take; when He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

¹⁹ How much less to Him who does not lift up the face of rulers, nor regard the rich before the poor? For all of them are the work of His hands.

You have answered Me. ²² I will declare Your name to My brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will praise You. ²³ You who fear Jehovah, praise Him; all of you, the seed of Jacob, glorify Him; and fear Him all the seed of Israel. ²⁴ For He has not despised nor hated the affliction of the afflicted; and He has not hidden His face from him, but when he cried to Him, He heard. ²⁵ My praise shall be of You in the great congregation; I will pay My vows before the ones who fear Him. ²⁶ The meek shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek Jehovah shall praise Him; your heart shall live forever. ²⁷ All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to Jehovah; and all the families of the nations shall worship before You. ²⁸ For the kingdom is Jehovah's; and He is the ruler among the nations. ²⁹ All the fat ones on the earth shall eat and worship; all those who go down to the dust shall bow before Him; and none can keep alive his own soul. ³⁰ A seed shall serve Him; it shall be spoken of Jehovah to the coming generation. ³¹ They shall come, and shall declare His righteousness to a people that shall yet be born, that He has done this.

¹⁹ How great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You; You have worked for those who trust in You before the sons of men!

¹⁰ All my bones shall say, O Jehovah, who is like You, who delivers the poor from those stronger than he; yea, the poor and the needy from him who plunders him?

² For they shall soon wither like the grass; and fade as the green herb.

²³ The steps of a good man are ordered by Jehovah; and He delights in his way. ²⁴ Though he fall, he shall not be cast down; for Jehovah upholds his hand.

²⁸ For Jehovah loves judgment and does not forsake His saints; they are kept forever; but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

⁶ Surely a man walks about like a shadow! Surely they are in an uproar in vain. He heaps up, and does not know who shall gather them.

¹² Hear my prayer, O Jehovah, and give ear to my cry. Do not be silent at my tears; for I am a stranger with You, a pilgrim, as all my fathers were.

¹³ Blessed is Jehovah, the God of Israel, from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen and Amen!

⁵ Why are you cast down, O my soul, and moan within me? Hope in God; for I shall praise Him for the salvation of His face.

¹¹ You have given us like sheep for food, and have scattered us among the nations.

⁷ A man cannot at all redeem a brother, nor give to God a ransom for him, ⁸ for the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceases forever,

¹⁰ Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery; if riches increase, do not set your heart on them.

¹⁰ For You have proved us, O God; You have tested us, as silver is refined. ¹¹ You have brought us into the net; You have laid affliction on our loins. ¹² You have allowed men to ride at our head; we have gone through fire and through water, but You have brought us out to plenty.

Save me, O God! for the waters have come in on my soul. ² I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. ³ I am weary from my crying; my throat is dried; my eyes fail while I wait for my God. ⁴ They who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they who would destroy me are mighty, my lying enemies. Then I restored what I did not take away. ⁵ O God, You know my foolishness, and my guiltiness is not hidden from You. ⁶ Do not let those who wait on You, O Jehovah, the God of Hosts, be ashamed for my sake; let not the ones who seek You be ashamed for my sake, O God of Israel, ⁷ because I have borne reproach for Your sake, shame has covered my face. ⁸ I have become a stranger to My brothers, and a foreigner to My mother's children. ⁹ For the zeal of Your house has eaten Me up; and the reproaches of those who reproached You have fallen on Me. ¹⁰ When I humbled my soul with fasting, it turned to my reproach. ¹¹ I also made sackcloth my clothing, and I became a proverb to them. ¹² They who sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards. ¹³ But as for me, my prayer is to You, O Jehovah, in a pleasing time; O God, in the multitude of Your mercy hear me, in the truth of Your salvation. ¹⁴ Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink; let me be delivered from those who hate me, and out of the deep waters. ¹⁵ Do not let the flood of waters overflow me, nor let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut its mouth on me. ¹⁶ Hear me, O Jehovah, for Your loving-kindness is good; turn to me according to the multitude of Your tender mercies. ¹⁷ And hide not Your face from Your servant; for I am in trouble; hear me quickly. ¹⁸ Draw near my soul, and redeem it; deliver me because of my enemies. ¹⁹ You have known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonor; my enemies are all before You. ²⁰ Reproach has broken my heart, and I am full of heaviness; and I looked for some to mourn with me, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.

²⁸ My soul weeps for grief; strengthen me according to Your Word.

⁷⁵ I know, O Jehovah, that Your judgments are right, and that You have afflicted me in faithfulness.

⁸⁹ LAMED: Forever, O Jehovah, Your Word is settled in the heavens.

¹ A Song of degrees. They who trust in Jehovah shall be like Mount Zion; it is not shaken, but remains forever. ² As the mountains are all around Jerusalem, so Jehovah is all around His people from this time and forever.

⁶ Let them be like the grass on the housetops, which dries up before it grows up,

³ Do not put your trust in princes, nor in the son of man in whom there is no salvation. ⁴ His breath goes forth; he returns to the earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. ⁵ Blessed is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose help is in Jehovah his God,

²³ Turn at my warning; behold, I will pour out my Spirit to you; I will make my words known to you.

⁴ if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures,

⁸ He keeps the paths of judgment, and guards the way of His saints.

¹³ Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gets understanding. ¹⁴ For the profit from it is better than the gain from silver, and its produce more than fine gold; ¹⁵ she is more precious than rubies; and all the things you can desire are not to be compared with her.

¹⁹ My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and what I give is better than choice silver.

²³ I was anointed from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth ever was.

¹⁶ A wise one fears and departs from evil, but the fool rages and is sure.

¹⁶ How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver!

³ The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold, but Jehovah tries the hearts.

¹⁴ Blessed is the man dreading God, but he who hardens his heart shall fall into mischief.

¹⁴ But those riches perish by evil use. And he brings forth a son, and nothing is in his hand.

⁷ Tell me, You whom my soul loves, where do You feed, where do You lie down at noon? For why should I be as one who is veiled beside the flocks of Your companions?

⁹ What is your Beloved more than another beloved, most beautiful among women? What is your Beloved more than another beloved, that you adjure us so?

¹⁶ His mouth is most sweet; yes, He is altogether lovely. This is my Beloved, and this is my Friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.

³ And one cried to another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is Jehovah of Hosts; the whole earth full of His glory.

⁶ For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be on His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. ⁷ There is no end of the increase of His government and peace on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it and to establish it with judgment and with justice from now on, even forever. The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts will do this.

² And the Spirit of Jehovah shall rest on Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah. ³ And He is made to breathe in the fear of Jehovah. And He shall not judge according to the sight of His eyes, nor decide by the hearing of His ears. ⁴ But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, and shall decide with uprightness for the meek of the earth. And He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. ⁵ And righteousness shall be the girdle of His loins, and faithfulness the girdle of His heart.

And to whom is the arm of Jehovah revealed? ² For He comes up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground; He has no form nor majesty that we should see Him, nor an appearance that we should desire Him. ³ He is despised and rejected of men; a Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as it were a hiding of faces from Him, He being despised, and we esteemed Him not. ⁴ Surely He has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. ⁵ But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was on Him; and with His stripes we ourselves are healed. ⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, each one to his own way; and Jehovah has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. ⁷ He was oppressed, and He was afflicted; yet He opened not His mouth. ¹⁷ No weapon that is formed against you shall be blessed; and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the inheritance of the servants of Jehovah, and their righteousness is from Me, says Jehovah.

³ to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the mantle of praise for the spirit of heaviness; so that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that He might be glorified.

¹⁰ I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah, my soul will be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the robes of salvation, He covered me with the robe of righteousness like a bridegroom adorns himself with ornaments, and like a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

⁹ And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah one who inherits My mountains; and My elect will inherit it, and My servants will dwell there.

²² They will not build, and another live in them; they will not plant, and another eat. For like the days of a tree are the days of My people, and My elect will long enjoy the work of their hands.

²⁸ The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream. And he who has My Word, let him speak My Word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? says Jehovah.

⁴⁰ And I will cut an everlasting covenant with them that I will not turn away from them, to do them good. But I will put My fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from Me.

¹⁷ But we will certainly do whatever thing goes forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our rulers, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem. ¹⁹ Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. And Daniel blessed the God of Heaven.

And they became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors. And the wind carried them away, so that no place was found for them. And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

⁴⁴ And in the days of these kings, the God of Heaven shall set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed. And the kingdom shall not be left to other peoples, but it shall crush and destroy all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

Or thirsty, and gave You drink? ³⁸ When did we see You a stranger, and took You in? Or naked, and clothed You? ³⁹ Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and came to You? ⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brothers, you have done it to Me.

²⁴ The Son of Man goes, as it has been written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.

⁴⁴ And He said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and in the Prophets and in the Psalms about Me.

⁵² They answered and said to him, Are you also from Galilee? Search the scriptures and see that a prophet has not been raised out of Galilee.

⁴² Jesus said to them, If God were your father, you would love Me, for I went forth and came from God; for I did not come of Myself, but He sent Me.

²⁸ And I give to them eternal life, and they shall never ever perish, and not anyone shall pluck them out of My hand. ²⁹ My Father who gave them to me is greater than all, and no one is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand. ³⁰ I and the Father are one!

⁵² and not for that nation only, but also that He should gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad.

¹⁷ These things I command you, that you love one another. ¹⁸ If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. ¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

²⁶ And when the Comforter has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He shall testify of Me.

⁷ But I tell you the truth, it is expedient for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you. But if I depart, I will send Him to you. ⁸ And when that One comes, He will convict the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment. ⁹ Concerning sin, because they do not believe on Me; ¹⁰ concerning righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; ¹¹ concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. ¹² I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. ¹³ However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth. For He shall not speak of Himself, but whatever He hears, He shall speak. And He will announce to you things to come. ¹⁴ He will glorify Me, for He will receive of Mine and will announce it to you. ¹⁵ All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and will announce it to you.

²² And therefore you now have sorrow. But I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.

³³ I have spoken these things to you so that you might have peace in Me. In the world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world.

¹ Jesus spoke these words and lifted up His eyes to Heaven and said, Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son so that Your Son also may glorify You,

¹¹ And now I am in the world no longer, but these are in the world, and I come to You, Holy Father. Keep them in Your name, those whom You have given Me, so that they may be one as We are. ¹² While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those that You have given Me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

¹⁵ I do not pray for You to take them out of the world, but for You to keep them from the evil.

¹⁷ Sanctify them through Your truth. Your Word is truth.

¹⁹ And I sanctify Myself for their sakes, so that they also might be sanctified in truth.

²⁹ Jesus said to him, Thomas, because you have seen Me you have believed. Blessed are they who have not seen and have believed.

¹⁵ Then when they broke fast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Feed My lambs. ¹⁶ He said to him the second time, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Feed My sheep. ¹⁷ He said to him the third time, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me? Peter was grieved because He said to him a third time, Do you love Me? And he said to Him, Lord, You know all things, You know that I love You. Jesus said to him, Feed My sheep.

² And suddenly a sound came out of the heaven as borne along by the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. ³ And tongues as of fire appeared to them, being distributed; and it sat upon each of them. ⁴ And they were all filled of the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance. ⁵ And dwelling at Jerusalem there were Jews, devout men out of every nation under heaven. ⁶ But this sound occurring, the multitude came together and were confounded, because they each heard them speaking in his own dialect. ⁷ And they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, Behold, are not these who speak all Galileans? ⁸ And how do we each hear in our own dialect in which we were born? ⁹ Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, ¹⁰ Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya around Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, ¹¹ Cretans and Arabians, we hear them speaking the great things of God in our own languages.

And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. ¹⁸ And in those days I will pour out My Spirit upon My slaves and My slave women, and they shall prophesy.

²³ this One given to you by the before-determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken and by lawless hands, crucifying Him, you put Him to death; ²⁴ whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.

⁸ Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, Rulers of the people and elders of Israel,

¹⁰ be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in this name does this man stand before you whole.

³¹ And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness.

⁷ And the Word of God was increasing. And the number of the disciples in Jerusalem was multiplying exceedingly; even a great crowd of the priests obeyed the faith.

⁹ Then there arose certain of the synagogue which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of those from Cilicia and from Asia, disputing with Stephen.

⁵¹ O stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so you do. ⁵² Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you have now been the betrayers and murderers;

Of himself or of some other man? ³⁵ Then Philip opened his mouth and began at the same Scripture and preached the gospel of Jesus to him.

³⁴ Then Peter opened his mouth and said, Truly I see that God is no respecter of persons; ³⁵ but in every nation he who fears Him and works righteousness is accepted with Him.

²⁷ For those living in Jerusalem, and their rulers, not having known this One, and the voices of the Prophets being read throughout every sabbath, condemning Him, they fulfilled the Scriptures. ²⁸ And finding not one cause of death in Him, they begged Pilate to do away with Him. ²⁹ And when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning Him, taking Him down from the tree, they laid Him in a tomb.

²² confirming the souls of the disciples, calling on them to continue in the faith and that through much tribulation we must enter into the kingdom of God.

⁹ And He put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

⁶ And coming through the Phrygian and the Galatian region; and by the Holy Spirit being forbidden to speak the Word in Asia; ⁷ having come to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia. But the Spirit did not allow them.

¹⁰ And after he saw the vision, we immediately tried to go into Macedonia, gathering that the Lord had called us in order to preach the gospel to them.

³⁴ And bringing them up to the house, he set a table before them and rejoiced, believing in God with all his household.

¹¹ And these were more noble than those of Thessalonica, in that they received the Word with all readiness of mind and searched the Scriptures daily to see if those things were so.

³⁰ Truly, then, God overlooking the times of ignorance, now He strictly commands all men everywhere to repent,

² And finding a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy with his wife Priscilla (because Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome) Paul came to them.

²³ And after he had spent some time there, he departed and went over the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples.

¹⁰ And this happened over two years, so that all those living in Asia heard the Word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

³⁴ But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice cried out for two hours' time, Great is Artemis of the Ephesians! ³⁵ And quieting the crowd, the town clerk said, Men, Ephesians! What one of you does not know that the city of the Ephesians is a worshiper of the great goddess Artemis, and of That Fallen from the Sky?

¹⁶ For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, so that he might not lose time in Asia; for, if it were possible for him, he hastened to be at Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost. ¹⁷ And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called the elders of the church. ¹⁸ And when they had come to him, he said to them, You know how I was with you at all times, from the first day I arrived in Asia,

²⁸ Therefore take heed to yourselves, and to all the flock in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God which He has purchased with His own blood.

³² And now, brothers, I commend you to God, and to the Word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

¹⁸ in order to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, so that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.

²² Then having obtained help from God, I stand until this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said was going to happen; ²³ whether the Christ was liable to suffer, whether first by a resurrection of the dead He was going to proclaim light to the people and to the nations.

²³ And they having appointed him a day, many came to him in his lodging; to whom he expounded, testifying the kingdom of God, and persuading them the things concerning Jesus, both out of the Law of Moses and out of the Prophets, from morning until evening.

⁵ by whom we have received grace and apostleship, to obedience to the faith among all nations, for His name;

⁷ to all those who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁵ So, as much as is in me lies, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are at Rome also.

¹⁷ For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."

²¹ Because, knowing God, they did not glorify Him as God, neither were thankful. But they became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

²³ and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, and birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things.

⁷ indeed to those who with patience in good work are seeking for glory, and honor, and incorruptibility, everlasting life. ⁸ But to those who indeed disobeying the truth out of self-seeking, and obeying unrighteousness, will be anger and wrath,

¹⁰ But He will give glory, honor and peace to every man who works good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. ¹¹ For there is no respect of faces with God.

²⁹ but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart; in spirit and not in letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God.

²⁵ whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness through the passing by of the sins that had taken place before, in the forbearance of God;

²⁴ but for us also to whom it is to be imputed, to the ones believing on Him who has raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; ²⁵ who was delivered because of our offenses and was raised for our justification.

² Through Him we also have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice on the hope of the glory of God. ³ And not only this, but we glory in afflictions also, knowing that afflictions work out patience, ⁴ and patience works out experience, and experience works out hope.

For if by the offense of the one many died, much more the grace of God, and the gift in grace; which is of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. ¹⁶ And the free gift shall not be as by one having sinned; (for indeed the judgment was of one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offenses to justification. ¹⁷ For if by one man's offense death reigned by one, much more they who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ.) ¹⁸ Therefore as by one offense sentence came on all men to condemnation, even so by the righteousness of One the free gift came to all men to justification of life. ¹⁹ For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of One shall many be made righteous. ²⁰ But the Law entered so that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound, ²¹ so that as sin has reigned to death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁴ Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father; even so we also should walk in newness of life.

¹⁶ Do you not know that to whom you yield yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves to him whom you obey; whether it is of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness. ¹⁷ But thanks be to our God that you were the slaves of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.

²² But now, being made free from sin, and having become slaves to God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end everlasting life.

⁹ But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone has not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His.

¹¹ But if the Spirit of the One who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the One who raised up Christ from the dead shall also make your mortal bodies alive by His Spirit who dwells in you.

¹³ For if you live according to the flesh, you shall die. But if you through the Spirit mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live.

¹⁷ And if we are children, then we are heirs; heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ; so that if we suffer with Him, we may also be glorified together.

²⁴ For we are saved by hope. But hope that is seen is not hope; for what anyone sees, why does he also hope for it?

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. ²⁹ For whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers. ³⁰ But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, those He also justified. And whom He justified, these He also glorified. ³¹ What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? ³² Truly He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? ³³ Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God who justifies.

We are counted as sheep of slaughter." ³⁷ But in all these things we more than conquer through Him who loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

²³ and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy which He had before prepared to glory; ²⁴ whom He also called, not only us, of Jews, but also of the nations?

² God did not thrust out His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture said in Elijah, how he pleaded with God against Israel, saying,

⁵ Even so then, also in this present time a remnant according to the election of grace has come into being. ⁶ But if by grace, then it is no more of works; otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it is of works, then it is no more of grace; otherwise work is no more work. ⁷ What then? Israel has not obtained that which it seeks, but the election obtained it, and the rest were hardened

²⁰ Well, because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be high-minded, but fear.

²⁸ Indeed as regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes. But as regards the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.

² And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is that good and pleasing and perfect will of God.

⁹ Let love be without hypocrisy, shrinking from evil, cleaving to good; ¹⁰ in brotherly love to one another, loving fervently, having led one another in honor.

¹³ Let us walk becomingly, as in the day; not in carousings and drinking; not in co-habitation and lustful acts; not in strife and envy.

⁴ For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, so that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. ⁵ And may the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like minded toward one another according to Christ Jesus, ⁶ so that with one mind and one mouth you may glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁷ Therefore receive one another as Christ also received us, to the glory of God. ⁸ And I say, Jesus Christ has become a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers, ⁹ and that the nations might glorify God for His mercy, as it is written, "For this cause I will confess to You in the nations, and I will praise Your name." ¹⁰ And again He says, "Rejoice, O nations, with His people." ¹¹ And again, "Praise the Lord, all the nations, and praise Him, all the peoples." ¹² And again Isaiah says, "There shall be a root of Jesse, and He who shall rise to reign over the nations, in Him shall the nations trust." ¹³ And may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

²⁵ Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery, having been unvoiced during eternal times; ²⁶ but now has been made plain, and by the prophetic Scriptures, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith;

³⁰ But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who of God is made to us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption;

⁵ Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then shall each one have praise of God.

⁹ For I think that God has set forth us last, the apostles, as it were appointed to death; for we have become a spectacle to the world and to angels and to men. ¹⁰ We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are honorable, but we are despised. ¹¹ Even until this present hour we both hunger and thirst and are naked and are buffeted and have no certain dwelling place. ¹² And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it; ¹³ being defamed, we entreat. We are made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things until now.

⁷ Therefore purge out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, as you are unleavened. For also Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. ⁸ Therefore let us keep the feast; not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

¹¹ And such were some of you. But you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

For a trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed. ⁵³ For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. ⁵⁴ But when this corruptible shall put on incorruption, and when this mortal shall put on immortality, then will take place the word that is written, "Death is swallowed up in victory.

¹⁹ The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.

²² If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. The Lord comes!

⁸ For, brothers, we would not have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength; so much so that we despaired even of life.

²² And He has sealed us and having given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

²⁴ Not that we have dominion over your faith, but we are helpers of your joy; for by faith you stand.

⁷ But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us; ⁸ in every way having been troubled, but not having been hemmed in; having been perplexed, but not utterly at a loss; ⁹ having been persecuted, but not having been forsaken; having been thrown down, but not having been destroyed; ¹⁰ always bearing about the dying of the Lord Jesus in the body, so that the life of Jesus also might be revealed in our body. ¹¹ For we who live are always being delivered to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus might also be revealed in our body.
