¹⁴ Therefore I want the younger ones to marry, bear children, guide the house, giving no occasion to the adversary because of reproach.

¹³ Then let us not judge one another any more, but rather judge this, not to put a stumbling-block or an offense toward his brother.

⁸ I say therefore to the unmarried and the widows, It is good for them if they remain even as I. ⁹ But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn.

¹² But what I do, that I will do, so that I may cut off occasion from those who desire occasion; so that in the thing in which they boast, they may be found even as we.

⁸ Therefore, I desire that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

³ forbidding to marry, saying to abstain from foods which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

¹¹ But refuse younger widows, for whenever they grow lustful against Christ, they desire to marry;

¹ Let as many slaves as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor, so that the name and doctrine of God may not be blasphemed.

⁵ to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, subject to their own husbands, that the Word of God may not be blasphemed.

⁸ in sound speech that cannot be condemned, that he who is opposed may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

⁴ Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

¹⁴ If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of God and of glory rests on you. Truly according to them, He is blasphemed, but according to you He is glorified. ¹⁵ But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or a meddler in the affairs of others.
