¹ Do not sharply rebuke an elder, but exhort as a father, and the younger ones as brothers,

³² You shall rise up before the gray head and honor the face of the old man, and fear your God. I am Jehovah.

⁹ who said to his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; and he has not acknowledged his brothers, nor knew his own son, for they have observed Your Word and kept Your covenant.

¹⁵ But if your brother shall trespass against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. ¹⁶ But if he will not hear you, take one or two more with you, so that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. ¹⁷ And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he neglects to hear the church, let him be to you as a heathen and a tax-collector.

⁸ But you must not be called Rabbi, for One is your teacher, Christ, and you are all brothers.

²³ And having hand-picked elders for them in every church, and had prayed with fastings, they commended them to the Lord into whom they believed.

⁴ And arriving in Jerusalem, they were received by the church, and by the apostles and elders. And they declared all things that God had done with them.

⁶ And the apostles and elders were assembled to see about this matter.

¹⁷ And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called the elders of the church.

⁷ Therefore give to all their dues; to the one due tax, the tax; tribute to whom tribute is due, fear to whom fear is due, and honor to whom honor is due.

¹¹ But when Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was to be blamed. ¹² For before some came from James, he ate with the nations. But when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those of the circumcision. ¹³ And the rest of the Jews also dissembled with him, so as even Barnabas was led away with their dissembling. ¹⁴ But when I saw that they did not walk uprightly with the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before all, If you, being a Jew, live as a Gentile, and not as the Jews, why do you compel the nations to judaize?

¹ Brothers, if a man is overtaken in a fault, you the spiritual ones restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering yourself, lest you also be tempted.

¹⁷ Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in Word and doctrine.

¹⁹ Do not receive an accusation against an elder except before two or three witnesses. ²⁰ Those who sin, rebuke before all, so that the rest also may fear.

²⁴ But the servant of the Lord must not strive, but to be gentle to all, apt to teach, patient, ²⁵ in meekness instructing those who oppose, if perhaps God will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth,

⁵ For this cause I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed you, ⁶ if anyone is blameless, husband of one wife, having believing children, not accused of loose behavior, or disobedient.

² aged men to be temperate, sensible, discreet, sound in faith, in love, in patience.

⁶ Likewise exhort the young men to be discreet;

⁹ rather through love I entreat, being such a one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ. ¹⁰ I entreat you for my child Onesimus, whom I have fathered in my bonds,

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first truly pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

¹⁴ Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

¹ I exhort the elders who are among you, I being also an elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed.

⁵ Likewise, younger ones, be subject to older ones, and all being subject to one another. Put on humility. For God resists proud ones, but He gives grace to the humble. ⁶ Therefore be humbled under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you in due time,

¹ The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth,

¹ The elder to Gaius the beloved, whom I love in the truth.

⁴ And around the throne I saw twenty-four thrones. And on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white clothing. And they had crowns of gold on their heads.
