¹ But the Spirit expressly says that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and teachings of demons, ² speaking lies in hypocrisy, being seared in their own conscience, ³ forbidding to marry, saying to abstain from foods which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. ⁴ For every creation of God is good, and nothing to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving. ⁵ For it is sanctified through the Word of God and prayer. ⁶ Having suggested these things to the brothers, you shall be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the Words of Faith and by the good doctrine which you have followed. ⁷ But refuse profane and old-womanish tales, and exercise yourself to godliness. ⁸ For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable to all things, having promise of the present life, and of that which is to come. ⁹ Faithful is the Word, and worthy of all acceptance. ¹⁰ For to this we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the preserver of all men, especially of those who believe. ¹¹ Command and teach these things. ¹² Let no one despise your youth, but be an example of the believers, in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. ¹³ Until I come, attend to reading, to exhortation, to teaching. ¹⁴ Do not neglect the gift in you, which was given you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the body of elders. ¹⁵ Meditate on these things; be in these things in order that your improvement may appear to all. ¹⁶ Hold on to yourself and to the doctrine; continue in them, for doing this you shall both save yourself and those who hear you.

¹ And it will be, if you shall listen carefully to the voice of Jehovah your God, to observe and to do all His commandments which I command you today, Jehovah your God will set you on high above all nations of the earth. ² And all these blessings shall come on you and overtake you, if you will listen to the voice of Jehovah your God. ³ You shall be blessed in the city, and be blessed in the field. ⁴ The fruit of your body shall be blessed, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your cows, and the flocks of your sheep. ⁵ Your basket and your store shall be blessed. ⁶ You shall be blessed when you come in, and blessed when you go out. ⁷ Jehovah shall cause your enemies that rise up against you to be stricken before your face. They shall come out against you one way, and flee before you seven ways. ⁸ Jehovah shall command the blessing on you in your storehouses, and all that you set your hand to. And He shall bless you in the land which Jehovah your God gives you. ⁹ Jehovah shall establish you a holy people to Himself, as He has sworn to you, if you shall keep the commandments of Jehovah your God and walk in His ways. ¹⁰ And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of Jehovah, and they shall be afraid of you. ¹¹ And Jehovah shall prosper you in goods, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your cattle, and in the fruit of your ground, in the land which Jehovah swore to your fathers to give you. ¹² Jehovah shall open to you His good treasure, the heaven to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. And you shall loan to many nations, and you shall not borrow. ¹³ And Jehovah shall make you the head, and not the tail. And you shall be always above, and you shall not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of Jehovah your God, which I command you today, to observe and to do them. ¹⁴ And you shall not go aside from any of the words which I command you today, to the right hand or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

⁴ He is the Rock; His work is perfect. For all His ways are just, a God of faithfulness, and without evil; just and upright is He.

⁸ This book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it by day and by night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall act wisely.

¹³ As you come to the city, you shall immediately find him before he goes up to the high place to eat. For the people will not eat until he comes, because he blesses the feast. Afterwards those who have been invited eat. And now go up, for about this time you shall find him.

²² And Samuel said, Does Jehovah delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice! To listen is better than the fat of rams!

⁶ And he said to the judges, Take heed what you do. For you do not judge for man, but for Jehovah, who is with you in the judgment.

¹⁹ He will deliver you in six troubles; yea, in seven no evil shall touch you. ²⁰ In famine He shall redeem you from death; and in war from the power of the sword. ²¹ You shall be hidden from the whip of the tongue; neither shall you be afraid of robbery when it comes. ²² At destruction and famine you shall laugh; neither shall you be afraid of the beasts of the earth. ²³ For you shall be in covenant with the stones of the field; and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with you. ²⁴ And you shall know that your tent is in peace; and you shall visit your fold, and shall miss nothing. ²⁵ And you shall know that your seed will be numerous, and your offspring as the grass of the earth. ²⁶ You shall come to your grave in a full age, like a shock of grain comes in its season.

⁹ For evildoers shall be cut off; but those who wait on Jehovah, they shall inherit the earth.

¹¹ But the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves in the overflowing of peace.

⁷ Hear, My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you; I am God, your God. ⁸ I will not reprove you for your sacrifices; yea, your burnt offerings are continually before Me. ⁹ I will take no bull out of your house, nor he-goats out of your folds. ¹⁰ For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. ¹¹ I know all the birds of the mountains; and the wild beasts of the field are Mine. ¹² If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world is Mine, and the fullness of it. ¹³ Will I eat the flesh of the mighty, or drink the blood of goats? ¹⁴ Offer to God thanksgiving; and pay your vows to the Most High; ¹⁵ and call on Me in the day of trouble; and I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.

⁸ But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.

³⁴ My thoughts of Him shall be sweet; I will be glad in Jehovah.

⁵ Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth,

² Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,

⁶ Then they cried to Jehovah in their distress, and He delivered them out of their troubles. ⁷ And He guided them by the right way, so as to go to a city to live in. ⁸ Oh that men would praise Jehovah for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the sons of man! ⁹ For He satisfies the thirsty soul, and fills the hungry soul with good. ¹⁰ Those who sit in the darkness and in the shadow of death, being chained in affliction and iron; ¹¹ because they rebelled against the Words of God, and despised the advice of the Most High. ¹² and He humbled their heart with labor; they fell down, and none was helping. ¹³ Then they cried to Jehovah in their distress, and He saved them out of their troubles. ¹⁴ He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in two. ¹⁵ Let them praise Jehovah for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the sons of man! ¹⁶ For He has broken the gates of bronze, and cut the bars of iron in two. ¹⁷ Fools are afflicted because of their rebellion, and because of their iniquities. ¹⁸ Their soul hates all kinds of food; and they draw near the gates of death. ¹⁹ Then they cry to Jehovah in their distress, and He saves them out of their troubles. ²⁰ He sent His Word and heals them, and delivers them from their pitfalls. ²¹ Let them praise Jehovah for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the sons of man! ²² And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing! ²³ They who go down to the sea in ships, who do business in great waters; ²⁴ these see the works of Jehovah and His wonders in the deep. ²⁵ For He commands and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up its waves. ²⁶ They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths; their soul is melted because of trouble. ²⁷ They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and all their wisdom is swallowed up. ²⁸ And they cry to Jehovah in their trouble, and He brings them out of their troubles. ²⁹ He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still. ³⁰ And they are glad because they are quiet; so He brings them to their desired haven. ³¹ Let them praise Jehovah for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the sons of man! ³² And let them exalt Him in the congregation of the people, and praise Him in the gathering of the elders. ³³ He sets rivers to a wilderness and water-springs to thirsty ground; ³⁴ a fruitful land to a salty desert, because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it. ³⁵ He turns the wilderness into water-ponds, and dry ground into water-springs. ³⁶ And He makes the hungry dwell there, so that they may prepare a city to live in; ³⁷ and sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase. ³⁸ He also blesses them, so that they are multiplied greatly; and does not allow their cattle to become few. ³⁹ Again, they have become few, and humbled through harshness, affliction, and sorrow. ⁴⁰ He pours scorn on nobles, and causes them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no path. ⁴¹ But He raises up the poor from affliction and sets families like a flock. ⁴² The upright shall see and rejoice; and all iniquity shall stop its mouth. ⁴³ Whoever is wise, and will observe these things, they shall understand the mercies of Jehovah.

¹ Praise Jehovah! Blessed is the man who fears Jehovah, who delights greatly in His Commandments. ² His seed shall be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright shall be blessed. ³ Wealth and riches shall be in his house, and his righteousness stands forever.

⁸ It is better to trust in Jehovah than to trust in man.

A day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast and a day pleasing to Jehovah?

¹³ So the Lord Jehovah says, Behold, My servants will eat, but you will be hungry. Behold, My servants will drink, but you will be thirsty. Behold, My servants will rejoice, but you will be ashamed. ¹⁴ Behold, My servants will sing for joy of heart, but you will cry for sorrow of heart, and will howl because of a breaking of spirit.

²¹ Now hear this, O foolish people and without heart; who have eyes and see not; who have ears and hear not;

²⁰ Why does frankincense come to Me from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? Your burnt offerings are not pleasing, nor your sacrifices sweet to Me.

⁷ Blessed is the man who trusts in Jehovah, and Jehovah is his trust.

Therefore you shall hear the Word from My mouth, and warn them from Me. ⁸ When I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die; if you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked one shall die in his iniquity; but I will require his blood at your hand. ⁹ But, if you warn the wicked of his way, to turn from it; if he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul.

²³ And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have come to the full, a king, fierce of face, and skilled at intrigues, shall stand up. ²⁴ And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power. And he shall destroy marvelously, and shall prosper and work, and destroy the mighty and the holy people. ²⁵ And also through his understanding, he shall cause deceit to succeed in his hand. And he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many. He also shall stand up against the Ruler of rulers. But he shall be broken without a hand.

¹ But it shall be in the last days the mountain of the house of Jehovah shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be lifted up above the hills; and peoples shall flow to it.

⁷ Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.

³ Blessed are the poor in spirit! For theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. ⁴ Blessed are they that mourn! For they shall be comforted. ⁵ Blessed are the meek! For they shall inherit the earth. ⁶ Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness! For they shall be filled. ⁷ Blessed are the merciful! For they shall obtain mercy. ⁸ Blessed are the pure in heart! For they shall see God. ⁹ Blessed are the peacemakers! For they shall be called the sons of God. ¹⁰ Blessed are they who have been persecuted for righteousness sake! For theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. ¹¹ Blessed are you when men shall revile you and persecute you, and shall say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for My sake. ¹² Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for your reward in Heaven is great. For so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.

³³ But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.

¹⁵ Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

¹⁰ Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I say to you that in Heaven their angels always behold the face of My Father in Heaven.

⁵ For many will come in My name, saying, I am Christ, and will deceive many. ⁶ And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled, for all these things must occur; but the end is not yet. ⁷ For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in different places. ⁸ All these are the beginning of sorrows. ⁹ Then they will deliver you up to be afflicted and will kill you. And you will be hated of all nations for My name's sake. ¹⁰ And then many will be offended, and will betray one another, and will hate one another. ¹¹ And many false prophets will rise and deceive many. ¹² And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many will become cold.

²⁴ For false Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders; so much so that, if it were possible, they would deceive even the elect.

⁴³ He trusted in God, let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him. (For He said, I am the Son of God.)

¹⁹ You know the commandments: Do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not defraud, honor your father and your mother. ²⁰ And he answered and said to Him, Teacher, all these I have observed from my youth.

And they sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this one to reign over us. ¹⁵ And when he had received his kingdom and had returned, then it happened that he commanded these servants to be called to him; the ones to whom he had given the silver; so that he might know what each had gained by trading. ¹⁶ And came the first, saying, Lord, your mina has gained ten minas. ¹⁷ And he said to him, Well done, good servant, because you have been faithful in a least thing, have authority over ten cities. ¹⁸ And the second came, saying, Lord, your mina has made five minas. ¹⁹ And he said the same to him, You be over five cities. ²⁰ And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is your mina, which I have kept in a handkerchief. ²¹ For I feared you, because you are a harsh man. You take up what you did not lay down, and you reap what you did not sow. ²² And he said to him, I will judge you out of your own mouth, wicked servant! You knew that I was a harsh man, taking up what I had not laid down and reaping what I did not sow. ²³ And why did you not give my silver on the bank table, and coming I might have exacted it with interest? ²⁴ And he said to those who stood by, Take the mina from him and give it to him who has ten minas. ²⁵ And they said to him, Lord, he has ten minas. ²⁶ For I say to you that to everyone who has, more will be given. And from him who has not, even that which he has will be taken from him.

³⁴ And take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts are weighed down with headaches and drinking and anxieties of this life; and that day should suddenly come on you;

²⁹ The next day John sees Jesus coming to him and says, Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

⁴² And they said to the woman, Now we believe, not because of your saying, for we have heard Him ourselves and know that this is truly the Christ, the Savior of the world.

²⁴ Truly, truly, I say to you, He who hears My Word and believes on Him who sent Me has everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation, but has passed from death to life.

³⁹ You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life. And they are the ones witnessing of Me,

⁴ But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the Word.

⁶ They set these before the apostles. And having prayed, they laid hands on them.

⁷ And I heard a voice saying to me, Arise, Peter! Kill and eat! ⁸ But I said, Not so, Lord, for nothing common or unclean has at any time entered into my mouth. ⁹ But the voice answered me again from the heaven, What God has made clean, you do not call common.

² As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, So, then, separate Barnabas and Saul to Me for the work to which I have called them. ³ Then having fasted and prayed and laid hands on them, they let them go.

²⁰ but that we write to them that they should abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. ²¹ For Moses from ages past has those in every city proclaiming him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

⁶ And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, welcoming the Word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,
