⁸ Be sensible and vigilant, because your adversary the Devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour;

⁵ And Samson and his father and his mother went down to Timnath. And they came to the vineyards of Timnath. And, behold, a young lion roared to meet him.

⁶ And Esther said, The man who is our adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. And Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.

⁶ And a day came when the sons of God came to present themselves before Jehovah. And Satan also came among them. ⁷ And Jehovah said to Satan, From where do you come? Then Satan answered Jehovah and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

² And Jehovah said to Satan, From where do you come? And Satan answered Jehovah and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

²¹ The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from God.

⁶ Set a wicked man over him; and let an adversary stand at his right hand,

¹² The king's wrath is like the roaring of a lion; but his favor is like dew on the grass.

² The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion; whoever stirs him up to anger sins against his own soul.

¹⁵ The young lions roared against him; they gave their voice. And they made his land a waste; his cities are burned without inhabitant.

³⁸ They shall roar together like lions; they shall growl like lions' cubs.

⁷ And he knew his widows, and he laid their cities waste, and the land and its fullness was desolated, from the sound of his roaring.

⁴ Will a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey for him? Will a young lion cry out of his den unless he has caught?

⁸ The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord Jehovah has spoken; who will not prophesy?

¹ And He showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of Jehovah, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.

³ There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is destroyed. There is a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is destroyed.

¹ Then Jesus was led by the Spirit up into the wilderness, to be tempted by the Devil.

¹¹ Then the Devil left him. And behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

³⁹ The enemy who sowed them is the Devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

⁴² Therefore watch; for you do not know what hour your Lord comes.

⁴⁸ But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My Lord delays His coming, ⁴⁹ and shall begin to strike his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken, ⁵⁰ the Lord of that servant shall come in a day when he does not look for Him, and in an hour which he does not know.

⁴¹ Then He also shall say to those on the left hand, Depart from Me, you cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the Devil and his angels.

⁴⁵ But if that servant says in his heart, My lord delays his coming, and shall begin to beat the male servants and women servants, and to eat and drink and to be drunk, ⁴⁶ the lord of that servant will come in a day when he does not expect, and at an hour when he does not know. And he will cut him apart, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

³⁴ And take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts are weighed down with headaches and drinking and anxieties of this life; and that day should suddenly come on you;

³⁶ Watch therefore, praying in every season that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things which shall occur, and to stand before the Son of Man.

³¹ And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired you, that he may sift you as wheat.

⁴⁴ You are of the Devil as father, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and did not abide in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.

¹¹ This also, knowing the time, that it is already time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we believed. ¹² The night is far spent, the day is at hand; therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. ¹³ Let us walk becomingly, as in the day; not in carousings and drinking; not in co-habitation and lustful acts; not in strife and envy.

²⁷ neither give place to the Devil.

¹¹ Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

⁶ Therefore let us not sleep as the rest do, but let us watch and be calm. ⁷ For those sleeping sleep in the night, and those being drunken are drunken in the night. ⁸ But let us, who are of the day, be calm, having put on the breastplate of faith and love and the hope of salvation for a helmet.

⁹ In the same way also, I desire that women adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and sensibleness, not adorned with braiding, or gold, or pearls, or costly clothing,

¹⁵ But she will be kept safe through childbearing, if they continue in faith and love and holiness with sensibleness.

² Then it behooves the overseer to be without reproach, husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, well-ordered, hospitable, apt at teaching,

¹¹ Even so their wives are to be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, that through me the preaching might be fulfilled, and that all the nations might hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

⁸ but hospitable, a lover of good, discreet, just, holy, temperate,

² aged men to be temperate, sensible, discreet, sound in faith, in love, in patience.

⁴ that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,

⁶ Likewise exhort the young men to be discreet;

¹² teaching us that having denied ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live discreetly, righteously and godly, in this present world,

⁷ Therefore submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

¹³ Therefore girding up the loins of your mind, being sober, perfectly hope for the grace being brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

⁷ But the end of all things has drawn near. Therefore be of sound mind, and be sensible to prayers.

⁸ He who practices sin is of the Devil, for the Devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was revealed, that He might undo the works of the Devil. ⁹ Everyone who has been born of God does not commit sin, because His seed remains in him, and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. ¹⁰ In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the Devil: everyone not practicing righteousness is not of God, also he who does not love his brother.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, the old serpent called Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

¹² Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and those tabernacling in them. Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and in the sea! For the Devil came down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a little time.

² And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.

¹⁰ And the Devil who deceived them was cast into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet were . And he will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
