1 Peter 4 Cross References - MKJV

1 Therefore, Christ having suffered for us in the flesh, also you arm yourselves with the same thought, that he suffering in the flesh has been made to rest from sin, 2 in order no longer to live in the lusts of men, but in the will of God the remaining time in the flesh. 3 For the time of life which is past is enough for us to have worked out the will of the nations, having gone on in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, parties, carousings, and abominable idolatries. 4 In these things they are surprised, that you are not running with them into the same excess of riot, blaspheming. 5 But they shall give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 6 For to this end the gospel was preached also to the dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the Spirit. 7 But the end of all things has drawn near. Therefore be of sound mind, and be sensible to prayers. 8 And above all things have fervent love to yourselves, for love will cover a multitude of sins. 9 Be hospitable to one another, without grudging; 10 each one as he received a gift, ministering it to yourselves as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, let it be as the words of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as of the ability which God gives, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory, and the might forever and ever. Amen. 12 Beloved, do not be astonished at the fiery trial which is to try you, as though a strange thing happened to you, 13 but rejoice according as you are partakers of Christ's suffering, so that when His glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14 If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of God and of glory rests on you. Truly according to them, He is blasphemed, but according to you He is glorified. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or a meddler in the affairs of others. 16 But if one suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God because of this. 17 For the time has come for the judgment to begin from the house of God. And if it first begins from us, what will be the end of those disobeying the gospel of God? 18 And if the righteous one is scarcely saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 19 Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing, as to a faithful Creator.

I cannot dig; I am ashamed to beg. 4 I know what I will do, so that when I am put out of the stewardship they may receive me into their houses. 5 So he called every one of his lord's debtors and said; to the first, How much do you owe my lord? 6 And he said, A hundred baths of oil. And he said to him, Take your bill and sit down quickly and write fifty. 7 And he said to another, And how much do you owe? And he said, A hundred cors of wheat. And he said to him, Take your bill and write eighty. 8 And the unjust steward's lord commended him because he had done wisely. Romans 1:18

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

Romans 1:20-32

20 For the unseen things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being realized by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, for them to be without excuse. 21 Because, knowing God, they did not glorify Him as God, neither were thankful. But they became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, and birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things. 24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves. 25 For they changed the truth of God into a lie, and they worshiped and served the created thing more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26 For this cause, God gave them up to dishonorable affections. For even their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature. 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another; males with males working out shamefulness, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was fitting for their error. 28 And even as they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do the things not right, 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; being full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, evil habits, becoming whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, insolent, proud, braggarts, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, perfidious, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous order of God, that those practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but have pleasure in those practicing them.

2 Through Him we also have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice on the hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only this, but we glory in afflictions also, knowing that afflictions work out patience,

Romans 5:3-5

3 And not only this, but we glory in afflictions also, knowing that afflictions work out patience, 4 and patience works out experience, and experience works out hope. 5 And hope does not make us ashamed, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit given to us. 6 For we yet being without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Romans 8:9-11

9 But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone has not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His. 10 And if Christ is in you, indeed the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of the One who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the One who raised up Christ from the dead shall also make your mortal bodies alive by His Spirit who dwells in you. 12 Therefore, brothers, we are not debtors to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh, you shall die. But if you through the Spirit mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live.

Romans 13:12-12

12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand; therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk becomingly, as in the day; not in carousings and drinking; not in co-habitation and lustful acts; not in strife and envy.

Romans 13:13

13 Let us walk becomingly, as in the day; not in carousings and drinking; not in co-habitation and lustful acts; not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not take thought beforehand for the lusts of the flesh.

Romans 14:7

7 For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.

Romans 14:10-12

10 But why do you judge your brother? Or also why do you despise your brother? For all shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God." 12 So then each one of us will give account concerning himself to God.

7 among whom you also once walked, when you lived in these. 8 But now also put off all these things: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, shameful speech out of your mouth.

14 And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.

2 Continue in prayer and watch in it with thanksgiving,

12 Epaphras greets you, he being of you, a servant of Christ, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

1 Thessalonians 3:2-4

2 And we sent Timothy, our brother and minister of God, and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you and to comfort you concerning your faith, 3 so that no one should be drawn aside by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are appointed to them. 4 For truly, when we were with you, we told you before that we were going to suffer affliction, as it also happened, even you know.

1 Thessalonians 3:12

12 And may the Lord make you to increase and abound in love toward one another and toward all, even as we also toward you,

1 Thessalonians 4:5

5 (not in the passion of lust, even as the nations who do not know God),

1 Thessalonians 4:9-10

9 But regarding brotherly love, you do not need that I write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another. 10 And indeed you do it toward all the brothers who are in all Macedonia. But we beseech you, brothers, that you abound more and more, 11 and that you try earnestly to be quiet and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you,

1 Thessalonians 5:6-8

6 Therefore let us not sleep as the rest do, but let us watch and be calm. 7 For those sleeping sleep in the night, and those being drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be calm, having put on the breastplate of faith and love and the hope of salvation for a helmet.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

18 In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

2 Thessalonians 1:3

3 We are bound to thank God always for you, my brothers, as it is right, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each one of you abounds toward one another;

7 and to give rest with us to you who are troubled, at the revealing of the Lord Jesus from Heaven with the angels of His power, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God and who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ,

2 Thessalonians 1:8

8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God and who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, 9 who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He shall come to be glorified in His saints and to be admired in all those who believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that Day.

2 Thessalonians 1:10-12

10 when He shall come to be glorified in His saints and to be admired in all those who believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that Day. 11 Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of the calling and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power, 12 that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Timothy 6:16

16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in light which cannot be approached, whom no one of men have seen, nor can see; to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.

2 Timothy 1:12

12 For this cause I also suffer these things; but I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that He is able to guard My deposit unto that Day.

2 Timothy 1:18

18 May the Lord grant to him that he may find mercy from the Lord in that Day. And in what things he ministered to me at Ephesus, you know very well.

2 Timothy 2:9

9 in which I suffer ill as an evildoer, even to bonds. But the Word of God is not chained.

2 Timothy 2:12

12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.

12 Yea, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

Titus 1:7

7 For an overseer must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not full of passion, not given to wine, not quarrelsome, not greedy for ill gain; 8 but hospitable, a lover of good, discreet, just, holy, temperate,

Titus 2:12

12 teaching us that having denied ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live discreetly, righteously and godly, in this present world,

Titus 3:3

3 For we ourselves also were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, slaving for various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

Titus 3:3-7

3 For we ourselves also were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, slaving for various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared,

Titus 3:4-7

4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

Titus 3:5-7

5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

Titus 3:6-7

6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that being justified by His grace, we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Titus 3:7-7

7 that being justified by His grace, we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 Faithful is the Word, and as to these things, I desire that you strongly affirm that those believing God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.

Philemon 1:14

14 But without your consent I was willing to do nothing, that your good should not be of necessity, but willingly.

Hebrews 1:2-3

2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds, 3 who being the shining splendor of His glory, and the express image of His essence, and upholding all things by the word of His power, through Himself cleansing of our sins, He sat down on the right of the Majesty on high,

Hebrews 2:2

2 For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and if every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward,

Hebrews 2:4

4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with different kinds of miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

1 Therefore, a promise being left to enter into His rest, let us fear lest any of you should seem to come short of it.

9 And being perfected, He became the Author of eternal salvation to all those who obey Him,

Hebrews 5:12

12 For indeed because of the time, you ought to be teachers, you have need that one teach you again what are the first principles of the oracles of God. And you have become in need of milk, and not of solid food.

Hebrews 6:10

10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Hebrews 10:25

25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Hebrews 10:38-39

38 Now, "the Just shall live by faith. But if he draws back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him." 39 But we are not of those withdrawing to destruction, but of those who believe to the preserving of the soul.

Hebrews 11:8

8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out into a place which he was afterward going to receive for an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he went.

Hebrews 11:26

26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt, for he was looking to the reward.

Hebrews 12:2-3

2 looking to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right of the throne of God. 3 For consider Him who endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest you be weary and faint in your minds.

Hebrews 12:3-3

3 For consider Him who endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest you be weary and faint in your minds.

Hebrews 12:24-25

24 and to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. 25 See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape, those who refused him that spoke on earth, much more we shall not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from Heaven,

James 1:2-3

2 My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into different kinds of temptations,

James 1:2-4

2 My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into different kinds of temptations, 3 knowing that the trying of your faith works patience.

James 1:3-4

3 knowing that the trying of your faith works patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, so that you may be perfect and entire, lacking nothing.

James 1:12

12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation, because having been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

James 1:18

18 Of His own will He brought us forth with the Word of truth, for us to be a certain firstfruit of His creatures. 19 Therefore, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.

James 1:26

26 If anyone thinks to be religious among you, yet does not bridle his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is vain.

James 3:1-6

1 My brothers, do not be many teachers, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. 2 For in many things we all offend. If anyone does not offend in word, the same is a full-grown man, able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, so that they may obey us, and we turn about their whole body. 4 Behold also the ships being so great, and driven by fierce winds, yet they are turned about with a very small rudder, where the impulse of him steering desires. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. Behold how little a fire kindles how large a forest! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. So the tongue is set among our members, spotting all the body and inflaming the course of nature, and being inflamed by hell.

James 5:8-9

8 You also be patient, establish your hearts, for the coming of your Lord draws near. 9 Do not grudge against one another, brothers, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge stands before the door.

James 5:9-9

9 Do not grudge against one another, brothers, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge stands before the door.

James 5:11

11 Behold, we count blessed those who endure. You have heard of the patience of Job, and you have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is full of pity and of tender mercy. 12 But before all things, my brothers, do not swear; neither by the heaven nor by the earth, nor any other oath. But let your yes be yes, and your no, no, lest you fall into condemnation.

James 5:20

20 know that he who turns back the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

1 Peter 1:5-8

5 by the power of God, having been kept through faith to a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time; 6 in which you greatly rejoice, yet a little while, if need be, grieving in manifold temptations;

1 Peter 1:6-8

6 in which you greatly rejoice, yet a little while, if need be, grieving in manifold temptations; 7 so that the trial of your faith (being much more precious than that of gold that perishes, but being proven through fire) might be found to praise and honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

1 Peter 1:7-8

7 so that the trial of your faith (being much more precious than that of gold that perishes, but being proven through fire) might be found to praise and honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having not seen, you love; in whom not yet seeing, but believing in Him you exult with unspeakable joy, and having been glorified,

1 Peter 1:13

13 Therefore girding up the loins of your mind, being sober, perfectly hope for the grace being brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 14 as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance,

1 Peter 1:22

22 Purifying your souls in the obedience of the truth through the Spirit to unfeigned love of the brothers, love one another fervently out of a pure heart,

1 Peter 2:1

1 Therefore laying aside all malice and all guile and hypocrisies and envyings, and all evil speakings,

1 Peter 2:5

5 you also as living stones are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 2:8

8 and a Stone-of-stumbling and a Rock-of-offense to those disobeying, who stumble at the Word, to which they also were appointed.

1 Peter 2:12

12 having your conduct honest among the nations, in that which they speak against you as evildoers, they may glorify God in a day of His visitation, seeing your good works.

1 Peter 2:14-15

14 or to governors as sent by Him for vengeance on evildoers, but for praise on well-doers. 15 For such is the will of God, doing good to silence the ignorance of foolish men;

1 Peter 2:15

15 For such is the will of God, doing good to silence the ignorance of foolish men;

1 Peter 2:19-20

19 For this is a grace, if for conscience toward God anyone endures grief, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what glory is it if you patiently endure while sinning and being buffeted? But if you suffer while doing good, and patiently endure, this is a grace from God.

1 Peter 3:7

7 Likewise, husbands, live together according to knowledge, giving honor to the wife as to the weaker vessel, the female, as truly being co-heirs together of the grace of life, not cutting off your prayers.

1 Peter 3:14

14 But if you also suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. And do not fear their fear, nor be troubled,

1 Peter 3:16

16 having a good conscience, that while they speak against you as evildoers they may be shamed, those falsely accusing your good behavior in Christ. 17 For it is better, if the will of God wills it, to suffer for well-doing than for evil-doing.

1 Peter 3:17-18

17 For it is better, if the will of God wills it, to suffer for well-doing than for evil-doing. 18 For Christ also once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, indeed being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit;

1 Peter 3:18-18

18 For Christ also once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, indeed being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit; 19 in which also He went and preached to the spirits in prison,

1 Peter 4:1-2

1 Therefore, Christ having suffered for us in the flesh, also you arm yourselves with the same thought, that he suffering in the flesh has been made to rest from sin, 2 in order no longer to live in the lusts of men, but in the will of God the remaining time in the flesh.

1 Peter 4:4

4 In these things they are surprised, that you are not running with them into the same excess of riot, blaspheming.

1 Peter 4:4-5

4 In these things they are surprised, that you are not running with them into the same excess of riot, blaspheming. 5 But they shall give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

1 Peter 4:10

10 each one as he received a gift, ministering it to yourselves as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

1 Peter 4:12-16

1 Peter 4:19

19 Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing, as to a faithful Creator.

1 Peter 5:1

1 I exhort the elders who are among you, I being also an elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed.

1 Peter 5:8

8 Be sensible and vigilant, because your adversary the Devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour; 9 whom firmly resist in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions in the world are being completed in your brotherhood. 10 But the God of all grace, He calling us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little, He will perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 11 To Him be the glory and the might forever and ever. Amen.

2 Peter 1:6-7

6 and with knowledge self-control, and with self-control, patience, and with patience, godliness, 7 and with godliness, brotherly kindness, and with brotherly kindness, love.

2 Peter 2:2

2 And many will follow their pernicious ways, and because of them the way of truth will be evil spoken of.

2 Peter 2:5-6

5 And He did not spare the old world, but saved Noah the eighth one, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly. 6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, He condemned them with an overthrow, setting an example to men intending to live ungodly.

2 Peter 2:12

12 But these, as unreasoning natural brute animals having been born for capture and corruption, speak evil of the things that they do not understand. And they will utterly perish in their own corruption,

22 But the word of the true proverb has happened to them: The dog turning to his own vomit; and, The washed sow to wallowing in the mire.

2 Peter 3:7

7 But the present heavens and the earth being kept in store by the same Word, are being kept for fire until the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

2 Peter 3:9-11

9 The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not purposing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a rushing noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat. And the earth and the works in it will be burned up. 11 Then, all these things being about to be dissolved, what sort ought you to be in holy behavior and godliness,

1 John 2:17

17 And the world passes away, and the lust of it, but he who does the will of God abides forever. 18 Little children, it is the last time. And just as you have heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have risen up, from which we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they were of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out so that it might be revealed that they were not all of us.

2 Beloved, in regard to all things I pray that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.

Jude 1:10

10 But what things they do not know, they speak evil of. And what things they understand naturally, like the animals without reason, they are corrupted by these.

14 And Enoch, the seventh from Adam, also prophesied to these, saying, Behold, the Lord came with myriads of His saints, 15 to do judgment against all, and to rebuke all the ungodly of them concerning all their ungodly works which they ungodly did, and concerning all the hard things ungodly sinners spoke against Him.

15 to do judgment against all, and to rebuke all the ungodly of them concerning all their ungodly works which they ungodly did, and concerning all the hard things ungodly sinners spoke against Him.

To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, 6 and made us kings and priests to God and His Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 7 Behold, He comes with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, and those who pierced Him will see Him, and all the kindreds of the earth will wail because of Him. Even so, Amen.

And the number of them was myriads and myriads, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a great voice, Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing. 13 And I heard every creature which is in the Heaven and on the earth, and under the earth, and those that are in the sea, and all who are in them, saying, Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him sitting on the throne, and to the Lamb forever and ever. 14 And the four living creatures said, Amen.
