⁸ Let destruction come on him; he will not know; and let his net which he concealed catch him; let him fall in it, into destruction.

¹⁷ And Saul said to David, Behold my elder daughter Merab! I will give her to you for a wife; only, you be a brave son for me and fight the battles of Jehovah. And Saul said, Let not my hand be on him, but let the hand of the Philistines be on him.

² And the Philistines followed Saul and his sons. And the Philistines struck Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, Saul's sons. ³ And the battle went hard against Saul. And the archers, men with the bow, found him and he was sorely wounded by the archers. ⁴ And Saul said to his armorbearer, Draw your sword and thrust it through me, lest come these uncircumcised ones and thrust it through me and abuse me. But his armorbearer would not, for he was greatly afraid. So Saul took the sword and fell on it.

² And I shall come on him, and he shall be weary and feeble handed. And I will make him tremble, and the people with him shall flee. And I shall strike the king by himself. ³ And I shall bring all the people back to you when all return, except the man whom you are seeking. All the people shall be in peace. ⁴ And the thing was pleasing in Absalom's eyes, and in the eyes of all the elders of Israel.

²³ And Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not done. And he saddled the ass and rose up and went to his house, to his city. And he gave command to his household, then hanged himself, and died. And he was buried in the burying place of his father.

¹⁴ And Joab said, I will not wait this wait before you. And he took three darts in his hand and struck them into Absalom's heart while he was alive, in the midst of the oak. ¹⁵ And they went around, ten young men bearing Joab's weapons, and struck Absalom, and killed him.

¹⁰ And they hanged Haman on the wooden gallows which he had prepared for Mordecai. And the king's wrath lay down.

¹⁵ he dug a pit and bored it, and has fallen into the ditch he made. ¹⁶ His mischief shall return on his own head, and his violence shall come down on his own crown.

¹⁵ The nations have sunk into the pit they made; their foot is caught in the net they hid.

⁶ They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down; they have dug a pit before me; they have fallen into it. Selah.

⁷ But God shall shoot an arrow at them; their wounds shall suddenly appear.

¹⁸ Surely, You will set their feet in slippery places; You will make them fall into ruin. ¹⁹ How they are destroyed in a moment, swept away with terrors! ²⁰ Like a dream at the time from dreaming, O Lord, in awaking You will despise their image.

⁹ Keep me from the hands of the trap they laid for me, and from the snares of the workers of evil. ¹⁰ Let the wicked fall into their own nets at the same time; I even shall pass by.

²² His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be held with the cords of his sin.

¹ A man who hardens his neck when reproved shall be suddenly broken, and there will be no healing.

¹¹ For this, evil shall come on you; you shall not know its origin. And mischief shall fall on you; you shall not be able to cover it. And ruin shall come on you suddenly, you shall not know.

³ Then Judas, the one betraying Him, seeing that He was condemned, repenting, returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, ⁴ saying, I sinned, betraying innocent blood. But they said, What is it to us? You see to it . ⁵ And tossing the silver pieces into the Holy Place, he left. And going away he hanged himself.

³⁴ But take heed to yourselves that your hearts not be loaded down with headaches, and drinking, and anxieties of life, and that day come suddenly upon you

³ For when they say, Peace and safety! Then suddenly destruction comes upon them, like travail to the pregnant woman, and they shall not at all escape.
