But He being yet not far away from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, Lord, do not trouble, for I am not worthy that You come under my roof. ⁷ For this reason I did not count myself worthy to come to You. But say in a word, and let my servant be cured. ⁸ For I also am a man having been set under authority, having soldiers under myself. And I say to this one, Go! And he goes. And to another, Come! And he comes. And to my slave, Do this! And he does it . ⁹ And hearing these things, Jesus marveled at him. And turning to the crowd following Him, He said, I say to you, I did not find such faith in Israel. ¹⁰ And those sent, returning to the house, found the sick slave well. ¹¹ And it happened on the next day, He went into a city being called Nain. And many of His disciples went with Him; also a great crowd. ¹² And as He drew near to the gate of the city, even behold, one having died was being borne, an only son born to his mother; and she was a widow. And a considerable crowd of the city was with her. ¹³ And seeing her, the Lord felt pity over her and said to her, Stop weeping. ¹⁴ And coming up, He touched the coffin; and those carrying it stood still. And He said, Young man, I say to you, Arise! ¹⁵ And the dead one sat up and began to speak. And He gave him to his mother. ¹⁶ And fear took hold of all; and they glorified God, saying, A great prophet has risen up among us; and, God has visited His people. ¹⁷ And this word about Him went out in all Judea, and in all the neighborhood. ¹⁸ And His disciples reported to John about all these things. ¹⁹ And having called near a certain two of his disciples, John sent to Jesus, saying, Are You the One coming? Or should we expect another? ²⁰ And having come to Him, the men said, John the Baptist sent us to You, saying, Are You the One coming, or should we expect another? ²¹ And in the same hour He healed many from diseases and plagues and evil spirits. And He gave to many blind ones ability to see. ²² And answering, Jesus said to them, Going, report to John what you saw and heard: "Blind ones see again;" "lame ones walk about;" "lepers are being cleansed; "deaf ones hear;" dead ones are raised; poor ones are given the gospel. Isa. 35:5, 6; 61:1 ²³ And blessed is he who is not offended in Me. ²⁴ And John's messengers going away, He began to speak to the crowds about John: What did you go out to the wilderness to see? A reed being shaken by the wind? ²⁵ But what did you go out to see? A man who had been dressed in soft clothing? Behold, those in splendid clothing and being in luxury are in king's palaces. ²⁶ But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, even more than a prophet. ²⁷ This is he about whom it has been written: "Behold, I send My messenger" before Your face, who "will prepare Your way before You." Mal. 3:1 ²⁸ For I say to you, Among those born of a woman, no prophet is greater than John the Baptist. But the least one in the kingdom of God is greater than he is. ²⁹ And all the people and the tax collectors hearing, they justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John. ³⁰ But the Pharisees and the lawyers set aside God's counsel as to themselves, not being baptized by him. ³¹ And the Lord said, Then to what shall I compare the men of this generation? And to what are they like? ³² They are like children sitting in a market and calling to one another, and saying, We piped to you, and you did not dance; we mourned to you, and you did not weep. ³³ For John the Baptist has come neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, He has a demon. ³⁴ The Son of man has come eating and drinking, and you say, Behold, a man, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners. ³⁵ But wisdom was justified from all her children. ³⁶ And a certain one of the Pharisees asked Him that He eat with him. And going into the Pharisee's house, He reclined. ³⁷ And, behold, a woman who was a sinner in the city, knowing that He reclined in the Pharisee's house, taking an alabaster vial of ointment, ³⁸ and standing at His feet, weeping behind Him, she began to wash His feet with tears. And she was wiping with the hairs of her head. And she ardently kissed His feet and was anointing them with the ointment. ³⁹ But seeing, the Pharisee who invited Him spoke within himself, saying, This one, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what the woman who touches him is; for she is a sinner. ⁴⁰ And answering, Jesus said to the man, Simon, I have a thing to say to you. And he said, Teacher, say it . ⁴¹ There were two debtors to a certain creditor: the one owed five hundred denarii and the other fifty. ⁴² But they not having a thing to pay, he freely forgave both. Then which of them do you say will love him most? ⁴³ And answering, Simon said, I suppose the one to whom he freely forgave the most. And He said to him, You have judged rightly. ⁴⁴ And turning to the woman, He said to Simon, Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give water for My feet, but she washed My feet with tears and wiped off with the hairs of her head. ⁴⁵ You gave Me no kiss, but she from when I entered did not stop fervently kissing My feet. ⁴⁶ You did not anoint My head with oil, but she anointed My feet with ointment. ⁴⁷ For this reason I say to you, her many sins are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, he loves little. ⁴⁸ And He said to her, Your sins are forgiven. ⁴⁹ And those reclining with Him began to say within themselves, Who is this who even forgives sins? ⁵⁰ But He said to the woman, Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.

²⁸ And it happened, when Jesus had finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at His doctrine. ²⁹ For He was teaching them as having authority, and not as the scribes.

⁵ And Jesus, entering into Capernaum, a centurion came near to Him, begging Him, ⁶ and saying, Lord, my boy has been laid in the house, a paralytic, being grievously tormented. ⁷ And Jesus said to him, I will come and heal him. ⁸ And answering, the centurion said, Lord, I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof, but only speak a word and my boy will be healed. ⁹ For I am also a man under authority, having soldiers under myself. And I say to this one, Go; and he goes; and to another, Come; and he comes; and to my slave, Do this; and he does it . ¹⁰ And hearing, Jesus marveled, and said to those following, Truly I say to you, Not even in Israel did I find such faith. ¹¹ But I say to you that many will come from east and west, and will recline with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of Heaven, ¹² but the sons of the kingdom shall be cast out into the outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of the teeth. ¹³ And Jesus said to the centurion, Go, and as you have believed, so let it be to you. And his boy was healed in that hour.

² And Abraham said to his slave, oldest in his house, the one who governed in all that was to him, Please put your hand under my thigh. ³ And I will cause you to swear by Jehovah, God of the heavens and God of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanite, among whom I dwell. ⁴ But you shall go to my country and to my kindred and take a wife for my son, for Isaac. ⁵ And the slave said to him, Perhaps the woman will not be willing to go after me to this land; shall I indeed bring back your son into the land from out of which you came? ⁶ And Abraham said to him, Take heed for yourself that you not take my son back there. ⁷ Jehovah, God of Heaven, who took me from the house of my father and from the land of my birth, and who spoke to me, and who swore to me, saying, I will give this land to your Seed; He shall send His Angel before you, and you shall take a wife from there for my son. ⁸ And if the woman will not be willing to go after you, then you shall be clear from this oath of mine; only do not take my son back there. ⁹ And the slave put his hand under the thigh of his master Abraham and swore to him concerning this thing. ¹⁰ And the slave took ten camels from his master's camels and left. And all his master's were in his hand. And he rose up and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor. ¹¹ And he made the camels kneel outside the city, by a well of water at the time of the evening, the time that women go out to draw. ¹² And he said, Jehovah, God of my master Abraham, I pray, cause her to meet before me this day, and show kindness to my master Abraham. ¹³ Behold! I am standing by the well of water, and the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water. ¹⁴ And let the girl to whom I shall speak this : Please let down your pitcher that I may drink; and she will say, Drink and also I will water your camels; let it be her You have designed for Your servant, for Isaac. And by this I shall know that You have shown kindness to my master.

²⁷ And he said, Blessed be Jehovah, God of my master Abraham, who has not left off His kindness and His truth with my master, I being in the way, Jehovah guided me to the house of the brother of my master.

³⁵ And Jehovah has blessed my master much, and he is great. And He has given to him flocks and herds, and silver and gold, and male slaves and slave-girls, and camels and asses. ³⁶ And my master's wife bore a son to my master when she was old, and he has given to him all that is his. ³⁷ And my master caused me to swear, saying, You shall not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanite, in whose land I live. ³⁸ But you shall go to the house of my father and to my family and you shall take a wife for my son. ³⁹ And I said to my master, Perhaps the woman will not go after me. ⁴⁰ And he said to me, Jehovah, before whom I walk, will send His Angel with you and prosper your way. And you shall take a wife for my son from my family, from my father's house. ⁴¹ Then you shall be released from my oath, when you have come to my family, and if they do not give one to you; then you shall be released from my oath. ⁴² And today I came to the well. And I said, Jehovah, God of my master Abraham, I pray, if You will, prosper the way in which I am about to go. ⁴³ Behold! I stand at the well of water, and when the virgin comes out to draw water, and I say to her, Please let me drink a little water from your pitcher, ⁴⁴ and she says to me, Both you drink and also I will draw for your camels, may she be the woman whom Jehovah has designed for my master's son. ⁴⁵ Before I had finished speaking within my heart, even behold, Rebekah was coming out, her pitcher on her shoulder. And she went down to the well and drew. And I said to her, Please let me drink. ⁴⁶ And she hurried and let down her pitcher from her and said, Drink, and I also will water your camels. And I drank, and also she watered the camels. ⁴⁷ And I asked her and I said, Whose daughter are you? And she said, The daughter of Bethuel the son of Nahor, whom Milcah bore to him. And I put the ring on her nose, and the bracelets on her hands. ⁴⁸ And I bowed and worshiped Jehovah, and I blessed Jehovah, God of my master Abraham, who had guided me in the true way, to take for his son the daughter of the brother of my master. ⁴⁹ And now, if you are going to do kindness and truth with my master, tell me. And if not, tell me so that I may turn to the right or to the left.

⁸ And Deborah died, the nurse of Rebekah, and she was buried below Bethel, under the oak. And he called its name, Oak of Weeping.

⁴ And Joseph fond favor in his sight, and served him. And he appointed him over his house, and he gave all he owned into his hand. ⁵ And it came about that from the time he appointed him over his house and over all he owned, Jehovah blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake. And the blessing of Jehovah was on all that he had, in the house and in the field. ⁶ And he left all he owned in Joseph's hand. And he did not know anything that he had, except the bread which he was eating. And Joseph was beautiful in form and beautiful of appearance.

² And the Syrians had gone out in bands, and they seized from the land of Israel a little girl. And she was before Naaman's wife. ³ And she said to her mistress, Oh that my lord were before the prophet who is in Samaria! Then he would recover him from his leprosy.

⁵ If I have walked with vanity, or my foot has hurried to deceit,

²¹ He pampering his servant from youth, even afterwards in his days he shall be his successor.

⁵⁴ But the centurion and those with him guarding Jesus, seeing the earthquake and the things taking place, they feared exceedingly, saying, Truly this One was Son of God.

⁴² because an only daughter was born to him, about twelve years old; and she was dying. And in His going, the crowd pressed on Him.

⁴⁷ And seeing the thing happening, the centurion glorified God, saying, Truly, this Man was righteous.

⁴⁶ Then Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where He made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick in Capernaum. ⁴⁷ Hearing that Jesus was coming from Judea into Galilee, this one went out to Him and asked Him that He would come and heal his son, for he was about to die.

² And it was Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. ³ Then the sisters sent to Him, saying, Lord, behold, the one whom You love is sick.

¹ But a certain man named Cornelius was in Caesarea, a centurion of a cohort being called Italian,

⁷ And when the angel speaking to Cornelius went away, calling two of his servants and a devout soldier of those continually waiting on him,

²⁶ And hearing, coming near the centurion reported to the chiliarch, saying, Watch what you are about to do, for this man is a Roman.

¹⁷ And calling near one of the centurions, Paul said, Bring this young man to the chiliarch, for he has something to report to him.

¹ And when it was decided for us to sail to Italy, they delivered up both Paul and certain other prisoners to a centurion named Julius, of a cohort of Augustus.

³ And on the next day we landed at Sidon. And treating Paul kindly, Julius allowed him to go to his friends to receive care.

⁴³ But being minded to save Paul, the centurion kept them back from their purpose and commanded those able to swim, first casting themselves overboard, to go out on the land.

²² Slaves, obey the lords according to flesh in all respects, not with eye-service as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing God.

⁵ And Jesus, entering into Capernaum, a centurion came near to Him, begging Him,

⁴¹ And, behold, a man named Jairus came, and this one was a synagogue ruler. And falling at the feet of Jesus, he begged Him to come into his house,

³⁸ And, behold, a man called aloud from the crowd, saying, Teacher, I beg You to look at my son, because he is my only born.

⁴⁷ Hearing that Jesus was coming from Judea into Galilee, this one went out to Him and asked Him that He would come and heal his son, for he was about to die.

¹⁰ I entreat you concerning my child Onesimus, whom I fathered in my bonds,

¹¹ And into whatever city or village you enter, search out who in it is worthy; and remain there until you go out.

¹³ and if the house truly is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.

³⁷ He that loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he that loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. ³⁸ And whoever does not take up his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

⁶ And Jesus went with them. But He being yet not far away from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, Lord, do not trouble, for I am not worthy that You come under my roof. ⁷ For this reason I did not count myself worthy to come to You. But say in a word, and let my servant be cured.

³⁵ But those counted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage.

⁴ You also have a few names in Sardis which did not defile their robes, and they shall walk with Me in white because they are worthy.

¹ And Hiram the king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, for he heard that they had anointed him king instead of his father. For Hiram was a lover of David all his days.

³ And also, because I delighted in the house of my God, I have treasure of gold and silver which I give for the house of my God, even more than all that I have prepared for the house of the sanctuary: ⁴ three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir; and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses; ⁵ even gold for things of gold, and silver for silver, and for all the work of the hands of the skilled workers. And who is he that will willingly offer to consecrate his hand today to Jehovah? ⁶ And the chiefs of the fathers, and the chiefs of the tribes of Israel, and the commanders of the thousands, and the hundreds, even the chiefs of the king's work, offered willingly, ⁷ and gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents, and a myriad of darics; and ten thousand talents of silver, and eighteen thousand talents of bronze, and one hundred thousand talents of iron. ⁸ And he having stones gave them to the treasury of the house of Jehovah, by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite. ⁹ And the people rejoiced because of their willing offering, for they offered willingly to Jehovah with a perfect heart; and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.

¹¹ And Hiram the king of Tyre answered in writing, and sent to Solomon, Because Jehovah loves His people, He has given you as king over them. ¹² And Hiram said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, who has made the heavens and the earth, who has given to David the king a wise son, knowing discretion and understanding, who will build a house for Jehovah, and a house for his kingdom.

²⁷ Blessed be Jehovah, the God of our fathers, who has put this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of Jehovah in Jerusalem. ²⁸ And He has extended mercy to me before the king and his counselors, and before all the king's mighty leaders. And I was made strong, as the hand of Jehovah my God was on me. And I gathered out of Israel chief men to go up with me.

⁶ For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any strength, but faith working through love.

¹⁴ We know that we have passed from death to life because we love the brothers. The one not loving the brother remains in death.

¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word, or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. ¹⁹ And in this we shall know that we are of the truth, and shall persuade our hearts before Him,

¹ Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God. And everyone who loves Him who begets also loves the one who has been born of Him. ² By this we know that we love the children of God: when we love God and keep His commandments. ³ For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not heavy.

¹⁰ I am not worthy of all the mercies and all the truth which You have done for Your servant, for I passed over this Jordan with my staff, and now I have become two companies.

²³ The pride of man brings him low, but the humble of spirit takes hold of honor.

¹¹ I indeed baptize you in water to repentance; but He who is coming after me is stronger than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire,

²⁶ Truly, I say to you, In no way shall you come out from there until you pay the last kodrantes. ²⁷ You have heard that it was said to the ancients: "Do not commit adultery." Ex. 20:14; Deut. 5:18

²⁸ Even as the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.

²⁴ And He went with him. And a large crowd followed Him and pressed on Him.

⁸ And seeing, Simon Peter fell at the knees of Jesus, saying, Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord.

⁴ And coming to Jesus, they earnestly begged Him, saying, He to whom You give this is worthy.

⁴⁹ As He was yet speaking, someone came from the synagogue ruler, saying to him, Your daughter has expired. Do not trouble the Teacher.

¹⁹ and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your hired servants. ²⁰ And rising up, he came to his father. But he yet being far away, his father saw him and was moved with pity. And running, he fell on his neck and fervently kissed him. ²¹ And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven and before you, and no longer am I worthy to be called your son.

³⁸ Jesus the One from Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good, and healing all those having been oppressed by the Devil, because God was with Him.

⁶ But He gives greater grace. Because of this it says, "God sets Himself against proud ones, but He gives grace to humble ones." Prov. 3:34

¹⁰ Be humbled before the Lord, and He will exalt you.

²⁶ And he said, If you carefully listen to the voice of Jehovah your God, and do what is right in His eyes, and you give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will not put on you all the diseases which I have put on Egypt; for I am Jehovah your healer.

³⁹ See now that I, I am He, and there is no other God with Me. I kill, and I keep alive. I wound and I heal, and there is no deliverer from My hand.

⁶ Jehovah kills, and keeps alive; He brings down and causes to go to Sheol.

⁹ For He spoke, and it came into being; He commanded, and it stood fast.

²⁰ He sent His word and healed them; and delivered them from all their pitfalls.

²⁷ And all were astonished, so as to discuss to themselves, saying, What is this? What new teaching is this, that He commands even the unclean spirits with authority, and they obey Him?

³⁶ And astonishment came on all. And they spoke with one another, saying, What word is this, that He commands the unclean spirits with authority and power, and they come out?

¹³ And stretching out the hand, He touched him, saying, I will! Be cleansed! And instantly the leprosy departed from him.

⁷ And when the angel speaking to Cornelius went away, calling two of his servants and a devout soldier of those continually waiting on him, ⁸ and having explained all things to them, he sent them to Joppa.

²⁵ But as they stretched him with the thongs, Paul said to the centurion standing by, Is it lawful for you to flog a man, a Roman not found guilty? ²⁶ And hearing, coming near the centurion reported to the chiliarch, saying, Watch what you are about to do, for this man is a Roman.

²³ And having called near a certain two of the centurions, he said, Get two hundred soldiers ready, so that they may go to Caesarea, and seventy horsemen, and two hundred spearmen, from the third hour of the night;

²⁶ Claudius Lysias to the most excellent governor, Felix, greeting:

²³ And having ordered the centurion to keep Paul, and to have ease, and not to forbid anyone of his own to minister or to come to him, he dismissed them .

²⁶ about whom I have nothing certain to write to my Lord. Because of this I brought him before you, and most of all before you, king Agrippa, so as the examination taking place, I may have somewhat to write.

²² Slaves, obey the lords according to flesh in all respects, not with eye-service as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing God.

¹ Let as many as are slaves under a yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor, that the name and teaching of God may not be blasphemed. ² And those having believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brothers, but rather let them serve as slaves, because they are believing and beloved ones, those receiving of the good service in return. Teach and exhort these things.

¹⁹ He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and His judgments to Israel. ²⁰ He has not done so with any nation; and they have not known His judgments. Praise Jehovah!

¹⁰ And hearing, Jesus marveled, and said to those following, Truly I say to you, Not even in Israel did I find such faith.

³³ And the demon being cast out, the dumb one spoke. And the crowds marveled, saying, Never was it seen this way in Israel.

²⁸ Then answering, Jesus said to her, O woman, your faith is great; let it be to you as you desire. And her daughter was healed from that hour.

¹ What then is the superiority of the Jew? Or what the profit of circumcision? ² Much every way. For first, indeed, that they were entrusted with the oracles of God. ³ For what if some did not believe? Will their unbelief destroy the faith of God?

⁴ who are Israelites, whose are the adoption and the glory, and the covenants, and the Lawgiving, and the service, and the promises; ⁵ whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to flesh, He being God over all, blessed forever. Amen.

¹³ And Jesus said to the centurion, Go, and as you have believed, so let it be to you. And his boy was healed in that hour.

²³ And Jesus said to him, If you are able to believe, all things are possible to those believing.

⁵⁰ Jesus said to him, Go! Your son lives. And the man believed the word which Jesus said to him, and went away. ⁵¹ But already, as he was going down, his slaves met him and reported, saying, Your child lives. ⁵² He then asked from them the hour in which he had gotten better. And they said to him, Yesterday, at the seventh hour, the fever left him. ⁵³ Then the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, Your son lives. And he himself, and his whole household, believed.

² And He said, Now take your son, Isaac, your only one whom you love, and go into the land of Moriah. And there offer him for a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will say to you.

¹² And He said, Do not lay your hand on the boy, nor do anything to him. For now I know that you are a God-fearer, and you have not withheld your son, your only one, from Me.

⁷ And, behold, the whole family has risen against your servant, and said, Give up him who struck his brother, and we shall kill him for the life of his brother whom he has slain. And we shall also destroy the heir. And they shall quench my coal which is left, so as not to set to my husband a name and remnant on the fact of the earth.

⁹ Rise up, go to Zarephath that belongs to Sidon; and you shall live there. Behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain you.

¹² And she said, As Jehovah your God lives, I do not have a cake, only a handful of meal in a pitcher, and a little oil in a jar; and behold, I am gathering two sticks and will go in and prepare for myself and for my son; and we shall eat it, and die.

¹⁸ And she said to Elijah, What have I to do with you, O man of God? Have you come to me to cause my iniquity to be remembered, and to put my son to death?

²³ And Elijah took the boy and brought him down from the upper room of the house, and gave him to his mother; and Elijah said, See your son lives!

¹⁶ And he said, At this season, according to the time of life you shall embrace a son. And she said, No, my lord, O man of God, do not lie to your handmaid.

²⁰ And he carried him, and brought him to his mother. And he sat on her knees until noon, and died.

¹³ The blessing of the perishing came on me; and I made the widow's heart to sing.

¹⁰ And I will pour on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of prayers. And they shall look on Me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they shall be bitter over Him, like the bitterness over the first-born.

⁵² And all were weeping and bewailing her. But He said, Stop weeping. She has not died, but is sleeping.

¹⁹ And many of the Jews had come to those around Martha and Mary, that they might console them concerning their brother.

³⁹ And rising up Peter went with them, and having arrived they led to the upper room. And all the widows stood by him, weeping and showing tunics and garments such as Dorcas made while being with them.

⁴¹ And giving her a hand he raised her up. And calling the saints and the widows he presented her living.

⁴ But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to be godly to their own house and to make a return payment to their forebears, for this is good and pleasing before God. ⁵ But honor the one being really a widow, even having been left alone, who has set her hope on God and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.

²⁷ Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

¹⁶ And they removed the gods of the alien from among them, and served Jehovah. And His soul was grieved with the misery of Israel.

⁵ For You, O Lord, are good and ready to forgive, and rich in mercy to all who call on You.

¹⁵ But You, O God, are God, full of pity; and gracious, longsuffering and rich in mercy and truth.

¹³ As the pity of a father over his sons, so Jehovah pities those who fear Him.

⁹ In all their affliction, He was not a foe; and the Angel of his Face saved them. In His love and in His pity He redeemed them. And He bore them, and carried them all the days of old.

¹⁵ So says Jehovah, A voice was heard in Ramah, wailing, bitter weeping: Rachel weeping for her sons; she refuses to be comforted for her sons for they are not. ¹⁶ So says Jehovah, Hold back your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears. For there will be a reward for your work, says Jehovah, and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.

²⁰ Is Ephraim My dear son? Or is he a delightful child? For as often as I spoke against him, I earnestly remember him still. So My bowels groan for him; I will surely have pity on him, declares Jehovah.

³² For though He causes grief, He will have pity according to His many kindnesses. ³³ For He does not afflict from His heart, nor does He grieve the sons of man,

² I have pity on the crowd because now three days they remain with Me, and they do not have what they may eat.

¹⁹ And having called near a certain two of his disciples, John sent to Jesus, saying, Are You the One coming? Or should we expect another?

¹ And after these things, the Lord also appointed seventy others, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place, even to where He was about to come.

¹⁵ Then the Lord answered him and said, Hypocrite! Each one of you on the sabbath, does he not untie his ox or ass from the manger, and leading it away, give it drink?

⁵ And the apostles said to the Lord, Give us more faith.

⁶¹ And turning, the Lord looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He told him, Before a cock would crow, you will deny Me three times.

³⁴ saying, The Lord really was raised and appeared to Simon.

² And it was Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.

³³ Then when He saw her weeping, and the Jews who came down with her weeping, Jesus groaned in the spirit and troubled Himself. ³⁴ And He said, Where have you put him? They said to Him, Lord, come and see. ³⁵ Jesus wept.

¹³ And they said to her, Woman, why do you weep? She said to them, Because they took away my Lord, and I do not know where they put Him.

¹⁵ Jesus said to her, Woman, why do you weep? Whom do you seek? Thinking that it was the gardener, she said to Him, Sir, if you carried Him away, tell me where you put Him, and I will take Him away.

³⁰ and those weeping as not weeping, and those rejoicing as not rejoicing, and those buying as not possessing,

¹³ But I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who sleep, that you not grieve, as the rest also, not having hope.

¹⁷ For this reason He ought by all means to become like His brothers, that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the things respecting God, in order to make propitiation for the sins of His people.

¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest not being able to sympathize with our weaknesses but One having been tried in all respects according to our likeness, apart from sin.

²¹ And he stretched himself on the child three times, and called to Jehovah and said, O Jehovah my God, I beg You, let the soul of this boy return to him.

¹² Even so man lies down and does not rise until the heavens are no more, they shall not awake, nor be roused out of their sleep.

¹⁴ If a man dies, will he revive? All the days of my warfare I will wait, until my change comes.

¹⁹ Your dead ones shall live, my dead body, they shall rise up. Awake and sing, dust dwellers; for the dew of lights is your dew; and the earth shall cast out departed spirits.

³ And He said to me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I said, O Lord Jehovah, You know. ⁴ And He said to me, Prophesy to these bones and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of Jehovah: ⁵ So says the Lord Jehovah to these bones: Behold, I cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live,; ⁶ and I will put on you sinews and will bring flesh on you and spread skin over you and put breath in you, and you shall live. And you shall know that I am Jehovah. ⁷ So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a noise. And, behold, a shaking! And the bones drew near, a bone to its bone. ⁸ And I watched. And, behold! The sinews and the flesh came up on them, and the skin spread over them from above. But there was no breath in them. ⁹ Then He said to me, Prophesy to the Spirit. Prophesy, son of man, and say to the Spirit, So says the Lord Jehovah: Come from the four winds, O Spirit, and breathe on these slain ones, that they may live. ¹⁰ So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the Spirit came into them. And they lived and stood on their feet, a very great army.

⁵⁴ But putting all outside, and taking hold of her hand, He called out, saying, Child, rise up! ⁵⁵ And her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately. And He ordered something to eat be given to her.

²¹ For even as the Father raises the dead, and gives life, so also the Son gives life to whomever He wills.

²⁵ Truly, truly, I say to you that an hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and the ones hearing will live.

²⁸ Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming in which all those in the tombs will hear His voice. ²⁹ And they will come out, the ones having done good into a resurrection of life; and the ones having practiced evil into a resurrection of judgment.

²⁵ Jesus said to her, I am the Resurrection and the Life. The one believing into Me, though he die, he shall live.

⁴³ And saying these things, He cried out with a loud voice, Lazarus! Here! Outside! ⁴⁴ And the one who had died came out, the feet and the hands having been bound with sheets, and his face being bound with a cloth. Jesus said to them, Loosen him and let him go.

⁴⁰ And putting all out, placing the knees Peter prayed. And turning to the body he said, Tabitha, Arise! And she opened her eyes. And seeing Peter she sat up. ⁴¹ And giving her a hand he raised her up. And calling the saints and the widows he presented her living.

¹⁷ according as it has been written, "I have appointed you a father of many nations;" before God, whom he believed, the One making the dead live, and calling the things that are not as if they were. Gen. 17:5

¹² For it is shameful even to speak of the things being done by them in secret.

²³ And Elijah took the boy and brought him down from the upper room of the house, and gave him to his mother; and Elijah said, See your son lives! ²⁴ And the woman said to Elijah, Now I know this, that you are a man of God, and the word of Jehovah in your mouth is truth.

³² And Elisha came into the house. And, behold, the boy was dead, laid out on his bed. ³³ And he went in and shut the door on both of them, and prayed to Jehovah. ³⁴ And he went up and lay down on the boy, and put his mouth on his mouth, and his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands, and stretched himself on him. And the flesh of the boy became warm. ³⁵ And he returned, and walked in the house, once here and once there. And he went up and stretched himself on him. And the boy sneezed seven times, and the boy opened his eyes. ³⁶ And he called Gehazi and said, Call this Shunammite. And he called her, and she came in to him. And he said, Take up your son. ³⁷ And she went in and fell at his feet, and bowed to the earth, and took up her son, and went out.

²¹ and it happened, they were burying a man; and, behold, they saw the band, and threw the man into the grave of Elisha. And the man fell and touched the bones of Elisha, and came alive, and rose on his feet.

³¹ And the people believed. And they heard that Jehovah had visited the sons of Israel, and that He had seen their affliction. And they bowed and worshiped.

⁹ You visit the earth and water it; You greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water. You provide their grain, for in this way You have prepared it.

⁴ Remember me, Jehovah, with the favor of Your people; O visit me with Your salvation, ⁵ to see the good of Your chosen ones to rejoice in the joy of Your nation, to glory with Your inheritance.

⁹ And it shall be a name of joy to Me, a praise and a glory to all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do for them. And they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the peace that I do for it.

⁸ And seeing, the crowds marveled, and they glorified God who gave such authority to men.

³¹ so that the crowds marveled, seeing the dumb speaking, the maimed sound, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel.

¹¹ And the crowds said, This is Jesus, the Prophet, the one from Nazareth of Galilee.

⁸ And going away from the tomb quickly, with fear and great joy, they ran to report to His disciples.

⁶⁵ And fear came on all those living around them. And in all the hill country of Judea all these things were talked about.

⁶⁸ Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, because He visited and worked redemption for His people.

²⁰ And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all things which they heard and saw, even as was spoken to them.

²⁶ And amazement seized all, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We saw wonderful things today.

³⁹ But seeing, the Pharisee who invited Him spoke within himself, saying, This one, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what the woman who touches him is; for she is a sinner.

³⁷ And all the multitude of the neighborhood of the Gadarenes were seized with a great fear. And they asked Him to depart from them. And entering into the boat, He returned.

¹⁹ And answering, they said, John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; and others that some prophet of the ancients has risen again.

⁴⁴ and will tear you down, and your children in you, and will not leave a stone on a stone, because you did not know the time of your visitation.

¹⁹ And He said to them, What things? And they said to Him, The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene, who was a man, a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;

²¹ And they asked him, What, then? Are you Elijah? And he said, I am not. Are you the Prophet? And he answered, No.

²⁵ And they asked him and said to him, Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?

¹⁹ The woman said to Him, Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet.

¹⁴ Then seeing what miracle Jesus did, the men said, This is truly the Prophet, the one coming into the world.

⁴⁰ Then hearing the word, many of the crowd said, This is truly the Prophet. ⁴¹ Others said, This is the Christ. But others said, No! For does the Christ come out of Galilee?

¹⁷ They said to the blind one again, What do you say about him, because he opened your eyes? And he said, He is a prophet.

²² For Moses indeed said to the fathers, " The Lord your God will raise up to you a Prophet from among your brothers, One like me; you shall hear Him according to all things," whatever He may speak to you. See Deut. 18:15-16, 19 ²³ And it shall be that of every soul, whoever should not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.

⁵ And hearing these words, Ananias fell down and expired. And great fear came on all those hearing these things.

¹¹ And great fear came on all the church and on all those hearing these things. ¹² And many miracles and wonders among the people took place through the hands of the apostles. And they were all with one passion in Solomon's Porch. ¹³ And of the rest, no one dared to be joined to them, but the people greatly magnified them.

³⁷ This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel, " The Lord your God will raise up a Prophet to you" "from your brothers, One like me." You shall hear Him. Deut. 18:15

²⁴ and they glorified God in me.

²⁴ And the report of Him went out into all Syria. And they brought to Him all the ones having illness, suffering various diseases and torments, also those having been demon-possessed, and those having been moonstruck, and paralytics; and He healed them.

²⁶ And this report went out into all that land.

³¹ But going out, they made Him known in all that land.

²⁸ And His fame went out at once into all the Galilean neighborhood.

¹⁴ And Herod the king heard, for His name became publicly known. And he said, John the Baptist has been raised from the dead, and because of this the works of power operate in him.

¹⁴ And coming up, He touched the coffin; and those carrying it stood still. And He said, Young man, I say to you, Arise!

² But hearing in the prison of the works of Christ, sending two of his disciples, ³ John said to Him, Are You the One coming, or are we to look for another? ⁴ And answering, Jesus said to them, Going, relate to John what you hear and see: ⁵ The blind receive sight, and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear; the dead are raised, and the poor are given the gospel. Isa. 61:1 ⁶ And blessed is the one, whoever shall not be offended in Me. ⁷ But as these were going, Jesus began to say to the crowds about John, What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed being shaken with the wind? ⁸ But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft clothing ? Behold, those wearing soft things are in the houses of kings. ⁹ But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and one more excellent than a prophet. ¹⁰ For this is the one about whom it has been written: "Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who shall prepare Your way before You." Mal. 3:1 ¹¹ Truly I say to you, Not has arisen among those born of a woman any greater than John the Baptist. But the least in the kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is. ¹² But from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent seize it. ¹³ For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John. ¹⁴ And if you are willing to receive, he is Elijah, the one about to come. ¹⁵ The one having ears to hear, let him hear. ¹⁶ But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like little children sitting in the markets, and calling to their mates, ¹⁷ and saying, We piped to you, and you did not dance; we mourned to you, and you did not wail. ¹⁸ For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a demon. ¹⁹ The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold, a gluttonous man and a wine drinker, and a friend of tax collectors, and of sinners. And wisdom was justified by her children.

²⁶ And they came to John and said to him, Teacher, the one who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have witnessed, behold, this one baptizes, and all are coming to Him.

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He will bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.

¹⁸ And in your Seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed because you have obeyed My voice.

¹⁰ The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the lawmaker from between his feet, until Shiloh come, and the obedience of the peoples to him.

¹⁵ Jehovah your God shall raise up to you a Prophet from among you, of your brothers, One like me; you shall listen to Him, ¹⁶ according to all that you desired of Jehovah your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of Jehovah my God, nor let me see this great fire any more, lest I die. ¹⁷ And Jehovah said to me, They have spoken well, what they have said. ¹⁸ I shall raise up a Prophet to them from among their brothers, one like you; and I will put My words in His mouth; and He shall speak to them all that I shall command Him.

¹ And Joshua the son of Nun sent two men out of Shittim to spy secretly, saying, Go look over the land, and Jericho. And they went and came into the house of a woman, a harlot; and her name was Rahab. And they lay down there.

¹ A Psalm of David. A statement of Jehovah to my Lord: Sit at My right hand, until I place Your enemies as Your footstool. ² Jehovah shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion; rule in the midst of Your enemies. ³ Your people shall be willing in the day of Your power; in holy adornment from the womb of the dawn, to You is the dew of Your youth. ⁴ Jehovah has sworn and will not repent: You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

¹⁴ So, The Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold! The virgin will conceive and will bring forth a son; and she shall call His name Immanuel.

⁶ For a Child is born; to us a Son is given; and the government is on His shoulder; and His name is called Wonderful, Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. ⁷ There is no end to the increase of His government and of peace on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it, and to sustain it with justice and with righteousness, from now and forever. The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts will do this.

¹ And a Shoot goes out from the stump of Jesse, and a Branch will bear fruit out of his roots.

¹⁰ Behold, the Lord Jehovah will come with strength, and His arm rules for Him. Behold, His reward is with Him, and His wage before Him. ¹¹ He shall feed His flock like a shepherd; He shall gather lambs with His arm; and carry them in His bosom; those with young He will lead;

²⁰ And the Redeemer comes to Zion, and to those in Jacob who turn from transgression, declares Jehovah. ²¹ As for Me, this is My covenant with them, says Jehovah: My Spirit who is on you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your seed, or out of the mouth of your seed's seed, from now on and forever, says Jehovah.

⁵ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and act wisely, and shall do justice and righteousness in the earth. ⁶ In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely. And this is His name by which He shall be called, Jehovah our Righteousness.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are decreed as to your people, and as to your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make atonement for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy. ²⁵ Know, then, and understand that from the going out of a word to restore and to rebuild Jerusalem, to Messiah the Prince, shall be seven weeks and sixty two weeks. The street shall be built again, and the wall, even in times of affliction. ²⁶ And after sixty two weeks, Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself. And the people of a coming prince shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end shall be with the flood, and ruins are determined, and war shall be until the end.

² And you, Bethlehem Ephratah, being least among the thousands of Judah, out of you He shall come forth to Me to become Ruler in Israel; and His goings forth have been from of old, from the days of eternity.

⁷ And I will shake all the nations; and the desire of all nations shall come. And I will fill this house with glory, says Jehovah of hosts.

⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King comes to you! He is righteous and victorious, lowly, and riding on an ass, even on a colt, the son of an ass.

¹ Behold, I am sending My messenger, and He will clear the way before Me. And the Lord whom you are seeking shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Angel of the Covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He comes, says Jehovah of hosts. ² But who can endure the day of His coming? And who will stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like fuller's soap. ³ And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; and He shall purify the sons of Levi and purge them like gold and like silver, that they may be presenters of a food offering in righteousness to Jehovah.

² But to you who fear My name, the Sun of Righteousness shall rise up, and healing will be on His wings. And you shall go out and frisk like calves of the stall.

⁷ And He called the Twelve near and began to send them out two by two. And He gave them authority over the unclean spirits,

²⁵ The woman said to Him, I know that Messiah is coming, the One called Christ. When that One comes, He will announce to us all things.

³ And I will give to My two witnesses, and they will prophesy a thousand, two hundred and sixty days, dressed in sackcloth.

³⁷ When there is famine in the land; when there is pestilence, blasting, mildew, locusts; when there is the stripping locust; when its enemy has distressed it in the land in its gates; any plague, any sickness,

⁷ For we are consumed by Your anger, and we are troubled by Your wrath. ⁸ You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your face. ⁹ For all our days pass away in Your wrath; we finish our years like a murmur.

²³ And Jesus went around all Galilee teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every one of the illnesses among the people.

¹⁰ For He healed many, so that they fell on Him, that they might touch Him, as many as had plagues.

²⁹ And instantly the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she knew in her body that she was healed of the plague.

³⁴ And He said to her, Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be whole from your plague.

³⁰ For this reason many among you are weak and feeble, and many sleep. ³¹ For if we discerned ourselves, we would not be judged. ³² But being judged, we are corrected by the Lord, that we not be condemned with the world.

⁶ For whom the Lord loves, He disciplines, and whips every son whom He receives." Prov. 3:11, 12

¹⁴ Is any among you sick? Let him call the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. ¹⁵ And the prayer of faith will cure those being sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he may have committed sin, it will be forgiven him.

¹⁵ I was eyes to the blind, and feet for the lame.

⁸ Jehovah opens the eyes of the blind; Jehovah raises those bowed down; Jehovah loves the righteous;

¹⁸ And in that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book; and the eyes of the blind shall see out of their gloom and out of darkness. ¹⁹ And the humble ones shall increase joy in Jehovah, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

³ And the eyes of those that see shall not be dim, and the ears of those who hear shall listen. ⁴ And the heart of the rash shall discern knowledge; and the tongue of those that stutter shall hurry to speak clear things.

⁵ Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf opened. ⁶ Then the lame shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb shall sing. For waters shall break out in the wilderness, and streams in the desert.

⁶ I, Jehovah, have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand, and will keep You, and give You for a covenant of the people, for a Light of the nations; ⁷ to open blind eyes, to deliver the prisoner from the prison; those who sit in darkness from the prison.

¹⁶ And I will lead the blind by a way they knew not; I will lead them in paths they never knew; I will make darkness into light before them, and crooked places a level place. I do these things to them and do not forsake them;

⁸ Bring out the blind people, yet there are eyes; and the deaf, yet there are ears to him.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is on Me, because Jehovah has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the meek. He has sent Me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to captives, and complete opening to the bound ones; ² to proclaim the acceptable year of Jehovah, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; ³ to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of the spirit of infirmity, so that one calls them trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, in order to beautify Himself.

⁸ Behold! I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the corners of the earth. Among them the blind, and the lame, the pregnant one, and the travailing one together, a great company shall return here.

¹² I will also leave a poor and weak people in your midst, and they shall trust in the name of Jehovah.

²⁸ And coming into the house, the blind ones came near to Him. And Jesus said to them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? And they said to Him, Yes, Lord. ²⁹ Then He touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith let it be to you. ³⁰ And their eyes were opened. And Jesus strictly ordered them, saying, See, let no one know.

³⁰ And great crowds came to Him, having with them lame ones, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others. And they flung them down at the feet of Jesus. And He healed them; ³¹ so that the crowds marveled, seeing the dumb speaking, the maimed sound, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel.

¹⁴ And blind and lame ones came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.

³² And they brought a deaf one to Him, hardly speaking. And they begged Him, that He put His hand on him. ³³ And taking him away, apart from the crowd, He put His fingers into his ears; and spitting, He touched his tongue; ³⁴ and looking up into Heaven, He groaned and said to him, Ephphatha! (which is, Be opened!) ³⁵ And instantly his ears were opened, and the bond of his tongue was loosened, and he spoke correctly. ³⁶ And He ordered them that they should tell no one. But as much as He ordered them, much more abundantly they proclaimed. ³⁷ And they were most exceedingly amazed, saying, He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

¹⁸ " The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me. Because of this He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me" to heal the brokenhearted, "to preach remission to captives and new sight to the blind," to send away the ones having been crushed in deliverance,

¹² And it happened, in His being in one of the cities, even behold, a man full of leprosy! And seeing Jesus, falling on his face, he begged Him, saying, Lord, if You choose, You are able to cleanse me. ¹³ And stretching out the hand, He touched him, saying, I will! Be cleansed! And instantly the leprosy departed from him. ¹⁴ And He charged him to tell no one. But going away, show yourself to the priest and offer concerning your cleansing, as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them. ¹⁵ But the word about Him spread even more. And large crowds were coming to hear and to be healed from their infirmities by Him.

¹⁴ And coming up, He touched the coffin; and those carrying it stood still. And He said, Young man, I say to you, Arise! ¹⁵ And the dead one sat up and began to speak. And He gave him to his mother.

²¹ And in the same hour He healed many from diseases and plagues and evil spirits. And He gave to many blind ones ability to see.

⁵³ And they scoffed at Him, knowing that she died.

¹² And He entering into a certain village, ten leprous men met Him, who stood afar off. ¹³ And they lifted their voice, saying, Jesus, Master, pity us. ¹⁴ And seeing them, He said to them, Going, show yourselves to the priests. And it happened in their going they were cleansed. ¹⁵ And one of them, seeing that he was cured, returned glorifying God with a loud voice. ¹⁶ And he fell on his face at His feet, thanking Him. And he was a Samaritan. ¹⁷ And answering, Jesus said, Were not the ten cleansed? But where are the nine? ¹⁸ Were not any found returning to give glory to God except this foreigner? ¹⁹ And He said to him, Rising up, go! Your faith has cured you.

³⁵ And it happened as He drew near to Jericho, a certain blind one sat by the highway, begging. ³⁶ And a crowd passing through, he asked what this might be. ³⁷ And they reported to him that Jesus the Nazarene is passing by. ³⁸ And he cried out, saying, Jesus, son of David, pity me! ³⁹ And those going before rebuked him, that he be quiet. But he much more cried out, Son of David, pity me! ⁴⁰ And standing still, Jesus commanded him to be brought to Him. And he drawing near, He asked him, ⁴¹ saying, What do you desire I do to you? And he said, Lord, that I may see again. ⁴² And Jesus said to him, See again! Your faith has healed you. ⁴³ And instantly he saw again. And he followed Him, glorifying God. And seeing, all the people gave praise to God.

⁴⁶ And Nathanael said to him, Can any good thing be out of Nazareth? Philip said to him, Come and see.

³⁰ The man answered and said to them, For there is a marvel in this, that you do not know from where He is, and He opened my eyes. ³¹ But we know that God does not hear sinful ones, but if anyone is God fearing, and does His will, He hears that one. ³² From the beginning of the age it was never heard that anyone opened the eyes of one having been born blind. ³³ If this One was not from God, He could not do anything.

² And a certain man, being lame from his mother's womb, was being carried, whom day by day they put at the door of the temple, being called Beautiful, to ask alms from those going into the temple; ³ who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked alms. ⁴ And with John, looking intently toward him, Peter said, Look to us! ⁵ And he paid heed to them, expecting to receive something from them. ⁶ But Peter said, There is no silver and gold to me, but what I have, this I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazaraean, rise up and walk! ⁷ And taking him by the right hand, he raised him up. And immediately his feet and ankle-bones were made firm. ⁸ And leaping up, he stood and walked, and went with them into the temple, walking and leaping, and praising God.

⁷ For many came out from those having unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice. And many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed.

⁸ And a certain man was sitting in Lystra, powerless in the feet, being lame from his mother's womb, who had never walked. ⁹ This one heard Paul speaking, who, looking intently at him, and seeing that he had faith to be cured, ¹⁰ he said with a loud voice, Stand upright on your feet! And he leaped up and walked about.

¹⁸ to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, in order that they may receive remission of sins, and an inheritance among those being sanctified by faith in Me.

⁵ Hear, my beloved brothers, did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to the ones loving Him?

¹⁴ And He shall be for a sanctuary, and for a stone of stumbling, and for a rock of falling to the two houses of Israel; for a trap and for a snare to the dweller of Jerusalem. ¹⁵ And many among them shall stumble and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

⁶ And blessed is the one, whoever shall not be offended in Me.

⁵⁷ And they were offended in Him. But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor, except in his own homeland, and in his own house. ⁵⁸ And He did not do many works of power there because of their unbelief.

³⁴ And Simeon blessed them and said to His mother Mariam, Behold, this One is set for the fall and rising up of many in Israel, and for a sign spoken against;

⁶⁰ Then many of His disciples having heard, they said, This word is hard; who is able to hear it? ⁶¹ But knowing in Himself that His disciples were murmuring about this, Jesus said to them, Does this offend you? ⁶² Then what if you see the Son of man going up where He was at first? ⁶³ It is the Spirit that gives life. The flesh does not profit, nothing! The words which I speak to you are spirit and are life. ⁶⁴ But there are some of you who are not believing. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were not believing, and who was the one betraying Him. ⁶⁵ And He said, Because of this, I have told you that no one is able to come to Me except it is given to him from My Father. ⁶⁶ From this time many of His disciples went away into the things behind, and no longer walked with Him.

³² Why? Because it was not of faith, but as of works of Law. For they stumbled at the Stone-of-stumbling, ³³ as it has been written, "Behold, I place in" "Zion a Stone-of-stumbling," "and a Rock-of-offense," "and everyone believing on Him will not be put to shame." LXX and MT-Isa. 28:16; MT-Isa. 8:14

²¹ For since in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom did not know God, God was pleased through the foolishness of preaching to save the ones believing. ²² And since Jews ask for a sign, and Greeks seek wisdom, ²³ we on the other hand preach Christ crucified (truly an offense to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks), ²⁴ but to the called-out ones, both to Jews and to Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God; ²⁵ because the foolish thing of God is wiser than men, and the weak thing of God is stronger than men. ²⁶ For you see your calling, brothers, that there are not many wise according to flesh, nor many powerful, not many wellborn. ²⁷ But God chose the foolish things of the world that the wise might be put to shame, and God chose the weak things of the world so that He might put to shame the strong things. ²⁸ And God chose the low-born of the world, and the despised, and the things that are not, so that He might bring to nothing the things that are,

¹⁴ But a natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he is not able to know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

⁷ Then to you who believe belongs the preciousness. But to disobeying ones, He is the "Stone which those building rejected; this One became the Head-of-the-corner," Psa. 118:22 ⁸ and a Stone-of-stumbling, and a Rock-of-offense" to those disobeying, stumbling at the word, to which they were also appointed. Isa. 8:14

⁴ Like bubbling water you shall not excel, for you went up to the bed of your father; then you defiled it; he went up to my couch.

¹ Now in those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, ² and saying, Repent! For the kingdom of Heaven has drawn near. ³ For this is he spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord! Make His paths straight!" Isa. 40:3 ⁴ And John himself had his clothing from hairs of a camel, and a belt of leather about his loin. And his food was locusts and wild honey. ⁵ Then Jerusalem and all Judea went out to him, and all the neighborhood of the Jordan,

⁷ But as these were going, Jesus began to say to the crowds about John, What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed being shaken with the wind? ⁸ But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft clothing ? Behold, those wearing soft things are in the houses of kings.

⁴ John came baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for remission of sins. ⁵ And all the Judean country and those of Jerusalem went out to him, and were all baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.

⁸⁰ And the child grew, and became strong in spirit. And he was in the deserts until the day of his showing to Israel.

² upon the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came on John the son of Zacharias in the desert.

²³ He said, "I am a voice crying in the wilderness:" "Make straight" "the way of the Lord," as Isaiah the prophet said. Isa. 40:3

¹⁷ Then purposing this, did I indeed use lightness? Or what I purposed, did I purpose according to flesh, that may be with me yes, yes, and no, no? ¹⁸ But God is faithful, that our word to you did not become yes and no. ¹⁹ For Jesus Christ the Son of God, the One proclaimed among you by us, through me and Silvanus and Timothy, was not yes and no, but has been yes in Him. ²⁰ For as many promises as are of God, in Him they are yes, and in Him are Amen, for glory to God through us.

¹⁴ so that we may no longer be infants, having been blown and carried to and fro by every wind of doctrine, in the underhandedness of men, in craftiness with a view to the trickery of error,

⁶ But let him ask in faith, doubting nothing. For the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, being driven by wind and being tossed; ⁷ for do not let that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; ⁸ he is a double-souled man, not dependable in all his ways.

¹⁷ These are springs without water, clouds being driven by tempest, for whom the blackness of darkness is kept forever.

¹⁷ Then beloved, you knowing beforehand, watch lest being led away by the error of the lawless you fall from your own steadfastness.

³⁵ I am a son of eighty years today. Can I distinguish between good and evil? Can your servant taste that which I am eating, and that which I drink? Can I any more listen to the voice of singing men and singing women? And why should your servant be any more as a burden to my lord the king?

⁵ and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the standing of his ministers, and their clothing, and his cupbearers and his burnt offering that he offered in the house of Jehovah; and there was no more breath in her.

⁸ And they said to him, A hairy man, and a girdle of leather was girded about his loins. And he said, He is Elijah the Tishbite.

³ in the third year of his reign, he made a banquet for all his princes and his servants. The power of Persia and Media, the nobles and the princes of the provinces, were before him,

¹¹ to bring Vashti the queen before the king with the royal crown, in order to make known to the people and the princes her beauty. For she was beautiful to look upon.

² And he came until he was before the king's gate; for there was no entering into the king's gate in clothing of sackcloth.

¹ {cf9 : And it happened on the third day that Esther put on royal clothing and stood in the inner court of the king's house, before the king's inner house. And the king was sitting on his royal throne in the royal house, in front of the gate of the house.}

¹⁵ And Mordecai went out from before the king in apparel of the kingdom, of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple. And the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.

¹⁷ For He put on righteousness like armor, and a helmet of salvation on His head. And He put on robes of vengeance as clothing; and He put on zeal like a mantle.

⁴ And John himself had his clothing from hairs of a camel, and a belt of leather about his loin. And his food was locusts and wild honey.

²⁹ but I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed as one of these.

³ Of whom let it not be the outward act of braiding of hairs, and of putting gold around, or of clothing of adorning garments, ⁴ but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of the meek and quiet spirit, which is of great value before God.

⁹ But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and one more excellent than a prophet. ¹⁰ For this is the one about whom it has been written: "Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who shall prepare Your way before You." Mal. 3:1 ¹¹ Truly I say to you, Not has arisen among those born of a woman any greater than John the Baptist. But the least in the kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is. ¹² But from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent seize it. ¹³ For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John. ¹⁴ And if you are willing to receive, he is Elijah, the one about to come.

⁷⁶ And you, child, will be called Prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways, Mal. 3:1

¹⁶ The Law and the Prophets were until John; from then the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is pressing into it.

⁶ But if we say, From men, all the people will stone us, having been convinced that John was a prophet.

²⁶ And they came to John and said to him, Teacher, the one who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have witnessed, behold, this one baptizes, and all are coming to Him. ²⁷ John answered and said, A man is able to receive nothing unless it has been given to him from Heaven. ²⁸ You yourselves witness to me that I said, I am not the Christ, but that having been sent, I am going before that One. ²⁹ The one having the bride is the bridegroom. But the friend of the bridegroom, standing and hearing him, rejoices with joy because of the bridegroom's voice. Then this my joy has been fulfilled. ³⁰ That One must increase, but I must decrease.

³⁵ That one was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to exult in his light for an hour.

³ The voice of him who cries in the wilderness: Prepare the way of Jehovah; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

¹ Behold, I am sending My messenger, and He will clear the way before Me. And the Lord whom you are seeking shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Angel of the Covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He comes, says Jehovah of hosts.

⁵ Behold, I am sending you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of Jehovah. ⁶ And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the sons, and the heart of the sons to their fathers, that I not come and strike the earth with utter destruction. END OF THE OLD TESTAMENT

¹⁰ For this is the one about whom it has been written: "Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who shall prepare Your way before You." Mal. 3:1

² as it has been written in the Prophets, "Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who will prepare Your way before You;

¹⁵ For he shall be great in the eyes of the Lord, and he shall not drink wine or strong drink. And he will be filled of the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb. ¹⁶ And he will turn many of the sons of Israel to the Lord their God. ¹⁷ And he will go out before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah "to turn the hearts of fathers to their children," and disobedient ones to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people having been prepared for the Lord. Mal. 4:5, 6

¹¹ Truly I say to you, Not has arisen among those born of a woman any greater than John the Baptist. But the least in the kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is.

¹⁶ But your eyes are blessed because they see; and your ears because they hear. ¹⁷ For truly I tell you that many prophets and righteous ones desired to see what you see and did not see, and to hear what you hear and did not hear.

¹⁴ And he will be joy and exultation to you, and many will rejoice over his birth. ¹⁵ For he shall be great in the eyes of the Lord, and he shall not drink wine or strong drink. And he will be filled of the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.

¹⁶ John answered all, saying, I indeed baptize you with water; but He stronger than I comes, of whom I am not fit to loosen the thong of His sandals. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire,

⁴⁸ and said to them, Whoever receives this child on My name receives Me. And whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For the one being least among you all, this one shall be great.

²³ And having turned to the disciples alone, He said, Blessed are the eyes seeing what you see. ²⁴ For I say to you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear.

⁸ This grace was given to me, less than the least of all the saints, to proclaim the gospel of the unsearchable riches of Christ among the nations, ⁹ and to bring to light all, what is the fellowship of the mystery having been hidden from eternity in God, the One creating all things through Jesus Christ,

²⁵ of which I became a minister, according to the administration of God given to me for you, to fulfill the Word of God, ²⁶ the mystery having been hidden from the ages and from the generations, but now was revealed to His saints; ²⁷ to whom God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the nations, who is Christ in you, the hope of glory;

³⁹ And having obtained witness through the faith, these all did not obtain the promise, ⁴⁰ God having foreseen something better concerning us, that they should not be perfected apart from us.

¹⁰ About which salvation the prophets sought out and searched out, prophesying concerning the grace for you, ¹¹ searching for what, or what sort of time the Spirit of Christ made clear within them; testifying beforehand of the sufferings belonging to Christ, and the glories after these. ¹² To whom it was revealed that not to themselves, but to us they ministered the same things, which now were announced to you by those having preached the gospel to you in the Holy Spirit sent from Heaven; into which things angels long to bow to look.

⁷ And Adoni-bezek said, Seventy kings with their thumbs and their big toes cut off used to be gathering scraps under my table. As I have done, so God has repaid me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.

⁴ Against You, You only, I have sinned, and done evil in Your eyes; that You might be justified in Your speaking and be clear when You judge.

⁵ Then Jerusalem and all Judea went out to him, and all the neighborhood of the Jordan, ⁶ and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.

³¹ Which of the two did the will of the father? They said to Him, The first. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, the tax collectors and the harlots go before you into the kingdom of God. ³² For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax-collectors and the harlots believed him. And seeing, you did not repent afterwards to believe him.

¹² And tax collectors also came to be baptized. And they said to him, Teacher, what shall we do?

³⁵ But wisdom was justified from all her children.

²⁵ This one having been taught by mouth in the way of the Lord, and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things about the Lord, having understood only the baptism of John.

³ And he said to them, Then to what were you baptized? And they said, To the baptism of John.

⁴ Let it not be! But let God be true, and every man a liar; even as it has been written, "That You should be justified in Your words, and will overcome in Your being judged." LXX-Psa. 50:6; MT-Psa. 51:4 ⁵ But if our unrighteousness commends the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who lays on wrath? I speak according to man. ⁶ Let it not be! Otherwise, how will God judge the world?

³ For being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to the righteousness of God.

³ And they sing the song of Moses the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty, righteous and true are Your ways, King of the saints.

⁵ And I heard the angel of the waters saying, You are righteous, Lord, the One who is, and who was, and who will be, because You judged these things,

⁸ How do you say, We are wise, and the law of Jehovah is with us? Behold, the lying pen of the scribes has certainly worked deceit.

³⁵ And one of them, a lawyer, questioned Him, testing Him, and saying,

³⁴ Jerusalem! Jerusalem! The one killing the prophets, and stoning those having been sent to her, how often I desired to gather your children in the way a hen gathers her brood under the wings, and you did not desire it .

²⁷ For I did not keep back from declaring to you all the counsel of God.

²¹ But to Israel He says, "All the day I stretched out My hands to a disobeying and contradicting people." Isa. 65:2

¹ But working together, we also call on you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

²¹ I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness is through law, then Christ died without cause.

¹¹ in whom we also have been chosen to an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of the One working all things according to the counsel of His own will,

¹³ What can I testify for you? To what will I compare you, O daughter of Jerusalem? To what shall I equate you, that I may comfort you, O virgin daughter of Zion? For your crushing is great like the sea! Who can heal you?

³⁰ And He said, To what shall we compare the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we compare it?

¹⁶ Why is there hire in a fool's hand to get wisdom, and there is no heart for it ?

⁹ Whom shall He teach knowledge? And to whom shall He explain the message? Those weaned from milk, those moving from breasts? ¹⁰ For precept must be on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little. ¹¹ For with stammering lip and another tongue, He will speak to this people; ¹² to whom He said, This is the rest; cause the weary to rest. Also, This is the repose. But they willed not to hear. ¹³ Yet the word of Jehovah was to them, precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little; that they might go, and stumble, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

¹¹ And the whole vision to you is like the words of a sealed hook which they give to one knowing books, saying, Please read this. Then he says, I am not able, for it is sealed. ¹² And the hook is given to one who does not know books, saying, Please read this. Then he says, I do not know books.

³ O Jehovah, are not Your eyes for the truth? You struck them, but they felt no pain. You consumed them, yet they refused to take correction. They made their faces harder than rock; they have refused to return. ⁴ So I said, Surely they are poor; they are foolish, for they do not know the way of Jehovah, the ordinance of their God. ⁵ I will go up for myself to the great men and will speak to them. For they have known the way of Jehovah, the judgment of their God. Surely these have joined in breaking the yoke; they have torn off the bonds.

⁵ And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets.

⁸ Also you shall not go into the house of feasting, to sit with them to eat and drink. ⁹ For so says Jehovah of Hosts the God of Israel: Behold I will cause to cease out of this place, before your eyes, and in your days, the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride. ¹⁰ And it shall be, when you declare to this people all these words, they will say to you, Why has Jehovah pronounced all this great evil against us? Or what is our iniquity, or what our sin that we have committed against Jehovah our God?

²⁵ It is enough for the disciple to become as his teacher, and the slave as his lord. If they called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more those of his household?

⁶ And John was clothed in camel's hair, and a leather girdle about his loin, and eating locusts and wild honey.

¹⁵ For he shall be great in the eyes of the Lord, and he shall not drink wine or strong drink. And he will be filled of the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.

⁴⁸ Then the Jews answered and said to Him, Do we not say well that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?

⁵² Then the Jews said to Him, Now we know that you have a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets, and you say, If anyone keeps My Word, he will never ever taste of death.

²⁰ And many of them said, He has a demon and is insane. Why do you hear him?

¹³ But ridiculing, others said, They are full of sweet wine.

¹¹ And seeing, the Pharisees said to His disciples, Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?

²⁹ And Levi made a great feast for Him in his house. And there was a crowd of many tax collectors reclining, and of others who were with them.

³⁶ And a certain one of the Pharisees asked Him that He eat with him. And going into the Pharisee's house, He reclined.

³⁷ And as He was speaking, a certain Pharisee asked Him that He would dine with him. And going in, He reclined.

¹ And it occurred, on His going into a house of one of the Pharisee leaders on a sabbath to eat bread, even they were closely observing Him.

² And the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, This one receives sinners and eats with them.

⁷ And seeing, all murmured, saying, He has gone in to stay with a sinful man.

² And Jesus and His disciples also were invited to the marriage.

² Then they made Him a supper there, and Martha served. But Lazarus was one of those reclining with Him.

³² And now listen to me, O sons, for blessed are those who keep my ways. ³³ Hear instruction, and be wise, and do not refuse it. ³⁴ Blessed is the man listening to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. ³⁵ For whoever finds me finds life, and he shall obtain favor from Jehovah. ³⁶ But he who sins against me does violence to his own soul; all who hate me love death.

⁹ Who is wise and discerns these things? Who is discerning and knows them? For the ways of Jehovah are right, and the righteous shall walk in them; but transgressors shall stumble in them.

¹⁹ The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold, a gluttonous man and a wine drinker, and a friend of tax collectors, and of sinners. And wisdom was justified by her children.

²⁹ And all the people and the tax collectors hearing, they justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

¹⁴ But a natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he is not able to know them, because they are spiritually discerned. ¹⁵ But the spiritual one discerns all things, but he is discerned by no one.

⁵ But they said, Not during the feast, that there be no uproar among the people. ⁶ And Jesus being in Bethany, in Simon the leper's house,

³ And He being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as He reclined, a woman came, having an alabaster vial of pure, costly ointment of nard. And breaking the alabaster vial, she poured it down His head. ⁴ And some were being indignant to themselves, and saying, To what has this waste of the ointment occurred? ⁵ For this could be sold for over three hundred denarii, and to be given to the poor. And they were incensed with her. ⁶ But Jesus said, Let her alone. Why do you cause her troubles? She worked a good work toward Me. ⁷ For you have the poor with you always, and when you wish, you can do well toward them. But you do not have Me always. ⁸ What this one held, she did. She took beforehand to anoint My body for the burial. ⁹ Truly I say to you, Wherever this gospel is proclaimed in all the world, what this one did will also be spoken of for a memorial of her.

³⁴ The Son of man has come eating and drinking, and you say, Behold, a man, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.

² And it was Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. ³ Then the sisters sent to Him, saying, Lord, behold, the one whom You love is sick. ⁴ And hearing, Jesus said, This is not sickness to death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God be glorified by it. ⁵ And Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. ⁶ Therefore, when He heard that he is sick, then, indeed, He remained in the place where He was two days. ⁷ Then after this He said to the disciples, Let us go to Judea again. ⁸ The disciples said to Him, Rabbi, just now the Jews were seeking to stone You, and do You go there again? ⁹ Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble because he sees the light of the world. ¹⁰ But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles because the light is not in him. ¹¹ He said these things. And after this, He said to them, Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going that I may awaken him. ¹² Then His disciples said, Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover. ¹³ But Jesus had spoken about his death, but they thought that He spoke of the sleep of slumber. ¹⁴ Therefore, then Jesus said to them plainly, Lazarus has died. ¹⁵ And I rejoice because of you, in order that you may believe that I was not there. But let us go to him. ¹⁶ Then Thomas, he having been called Twin, said to the fellow disciples, Let us go, even we, that we may die with Him.

³¹ Which of the two did the will of the father? They said to Him, The first. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, the tax collectors and the harlots go before you into the kingdom of God.

⁶ And Jesus being in Bethany, in Simon the leper's house, ⁷ a woman came to Him having an alabaster vial of ointment, very precious. And she poured it on His head as He reclined. ⁸ But seeing, His disciples were indignant, saying, For what is this waste? ⁹ For this ointment could have been sold for much and be given to the poor. ¹⁰ But knowing, Jesus said to them, Why do you cause trouble to the woman? For she worked a good work toward Me. ¹¹ For you always have the poor with you, but you do not always have Me. ¹² For in putting this ointment on My body, she did it in order to bury Me. ¹³ Truly I say to you, Wherever this gospel is proclaimed in all the world, what she did will be spoken of as a memorial of her.

³⁰ And their scribes and the Pharisees murmured at His disciples, saying, Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?

³² I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

³⁷ And, behold, a woman who was a sinner in the city, knowing that He reclined in the Pharisee's house, taking an alabaster vial of ointment, ³⁸ and standing at His feet, weeping behind Him, she began to wash His feet with tears. And she was wiping with the hairs of her head. And she ardently kissed His feet and was anointing them with the ointment. ³⁹ But seeing, the Pharisee who invited Him spoke within himself, saying, This one, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what the woman who touches him is; for she is a sinner.

¹³ And standing at a distance, the tax collector would not even lift up his eyes to Heaven, but smote on his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me, the sinner!

²⁴ Then a second time they called the man who was blind, and they said to him, Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.

³¹ But we know that God does not hear sinful ones, but if anyone is God fearing, and does His will, He hears that one.

¹ Then six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, who had died, whom He raised from the dead. ² Then they made Him a supper there, and Martha served. But Lazarus was one of those reclining with Him. ³ Then taking a pound of ointment of pure, costly spikenard, Mary anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped off His feet with her hairs. And the house was filled with the odor of the ointment. ⁴ Then Simon's son, one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was about to betray Him, said, ⁵ Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor? ⁶ But he said this, not that he was caring for the poor, but that he was a thief and held the moneybag and carried away the things being put in . ⁷ Then Jesus said, Allow her, for she has kept it for the day of My burial. ⁸ For you always have the poor with you, but you do not always have Me.

⁸ but God commends His love to us in this, that we being yet sinners, Christ died for us.

⁹ knowing this, that law is not laid down for a righteous one, but for lawless and undisciplined ones, for ungodly and sinful ones, for unholy and profane ones, for slayers of fathers and slayers of mothers, for murderers,

¹⁵ Faithful is the Word and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

¹⁸ And "if the righteous is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and sinner appear?" Prov. 11:31

⁴ Please allow a little water to be taken and You wash Your feet, and rest under the tree.

⁴ And it happened when the Angel of Jehovah spoke these words to all the sons of Israel, the people lifted up their voice and wept. ⁵ And they called the name of that place Bochim: and sacrificied to Jehovah there.

¹ And while Ezra was praying and making his confession, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, a very great congregation of men and women and children gathered to him out of Israel. For the people wept with a great weeping.

⁶ I am weary in my groaning; I shall make by bed swim in all the night; I melt my couch with my tears. ⁷ My eye is dim because of grief; it wastes away because of all my vexers. ⁸ Depart from me, all workers of iniquity, for Jehovah has heard the voice of my weeping.

¹⁸ For I will confess my perversity; I am anxious from my sin.

¹⁷ The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

⁵ Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting. ⁶ Surely he who walks and weeps, bearing a trail of seed, shall come again with joyful shouting, bearing his sheaves.

⁸ Let your garments be white at every time; and let your head lack no ointment.

³ For Your ointments have a lovely fragrance; Your name is as ointment poured out; on account of this the virgins love You.

⁹ And you went to the king with oil and multiplied your perfume. And you sent your messengers far away, and lowered yourself to Sheol.

³ to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of the spirit of infirmity, so that one calls them trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, in order to beautify Himself.

⁹ They shall come with weeping, and I will lead them with prayers. I will cause them to walk by rivers of waters, in a right way; they will not stumble in it. For I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is My first-born.

¹⁸ I have surely heard Ephraim moaning over himself, saying, You have chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bull not broken in. Turn me, and I shall be turned; for You are Jehovah my God. ¹⁹ For after I had turned away, I repented; and after I was taught, I slapped on my thigh. I was ashamed; yea, I even blushed, because I bore the disgrace of my youth. ²⁰ Is Ephraim My dear son? Or is he a delightful child? For as often as I spoke against him, I earnestly remember him still. So My bowels groan for him; I will surely have pity on him, declares Jehovah.

¹² Yet even now turn to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning, declares Jehovah.

⁴ Blessed are they who mourn! For they shall be comforted.

²¹ Blessed are those hungering now, for you will be filled. Blessed are those weeping now, for you will laugh.

⁴⁴ And turning to the woman, He said to Simon, Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give water for My feet, but she washed My feet with tears and wiped off with the hairs of her head. ⁴⁵ You gave Me no kiss, but she from when I entered did not stop fervently kissing My feet. ⁴⁶ You did not anoint My head with oil, but she anointed My feet with ointment.

⁶² And going outside, Peter wept bitterly.

⁴ He rose up from the supper and laid aside His garments. And taking a towel, He girded Himself. ⁵ Then He put water into the basin and began to wash the feet of the disciples, and to wipe off with the towel with which He was girded.

¹⁰ For the grief according to God works repentance to salvation, not to be regretted. But the grief of the world works out death. ¹¹ For behold this same thing, you being grieved according to God, how much it worked out earnestness in you, but also defense, but also indignation, but also fear, but also desire, but also zeal, but also vengeance! In everything you commended yourselves to be clear in the matter.

⁹ Be distressed, and mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy into shame.

²⁰ And Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my lord has spared this Syrian, Naaman, not to receive from his hand that which he has brought As Jehovah lives, surely I will run after him, then I shall take something from him.

⁷ for as he thinks in his heart, so is he! He says to you, Eat and drink, but his heart is not with you.

⁵ who say, Keep to yourself! Do not come near me, for I am holier than you! These are a smoke in My nose, a fire burning all the day.

¹² But Jesus hearing, He said to them, The ones who are strong have no need of a physician, but the ones who are sick. ¹³ But going, learn what this is, "I desire mercy and not sacrifice." For I did not come to call righteous ones, but sinners to repentance. Hos. 6:6

¹⁶ So the last shall be first, and the first last; for many are called, but few chosen.

²⁸ But what do you think? A man had two children, and coming to the first he said, Child, go today; work in my vineyard. ²⁹ And answering, he said, I will not. But afterward, feeling sorry, he went. ³⁰ And coming to the second, he said the same. And answering, he said, I go, sir; but he did not leave. ³¹ Which of the two did the will of the father? They said to Him, The first. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, the tax collectors and the harlots go before you into the kingdom of God.

⁶ But some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, ⁷ Why does this one speak blasphemies this way? Who is able to forgive sins, except One, God?

²¹ For from within, out of the heart of men, pass out the evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

⁸ Then bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say within yourselves, We have Abraham as father. For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham out of these stones.

¹⁶ And fear took hold of all; and they glorified God, saying, A great prophet has risen up among us; and, God has visited His people.

³⁷ And, behold, a woman who was a sinner in the city, knowing that He reclined in the Pharisee's house, taking an alabaster vial of ointment,

¹⁷ And he reasoned within himself, saying, What may I do, for I have nowhere I may gather my fruits?

²⁸ But he was angry and did not desire to go in. Then coming out, his father begged him. ²⁹ But answering, he said to the father, Behold, so many years I serve you, and never have I transgressed a command of you. And you never gave a goat to me, so that I might be merry with my friends. ³⁰ But when this son of yours came, the one devouring your living with harlots, you killed the fattened calf for him.

³ And the steward said within himself, What shall I do, for my Lord is taking away the stewardship from me? I am not able to dig, and I am ashamed to beg.

⁴ And for a time he would not. But after these things he said to himself, Even if I do not fear God, and do not respect man,

⁹ And He also spoke this parable to some of those relying on themselves, that they are righteous, and despising the rest: ¹⁰ Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax collector. ¹¹ The Pharisee was standing, praying these things to himself: God, I thank You that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.

¹² And much murmuring about Him was in the crowds. Some said, He is a good one; but others said, No, but he deceives the crowd.

⁴⁷ Then the Pharisees answered them, Have you not also been deceived? ⁴⁸ Not any from the rulers or from the Pharisees believed into him? ⁴⁹ But not knowing the Law, this crowd is cursed. ⁵⁰ Nicodemus said to them, the one coming by night to Him, being one of themselves, ⁵¹ Does our Law judge the Man unless it hear from him first, and know what he does? ⁵² They answered and said to him, Are you also from Galilee? Search and see that a prophet has not been raised out of Galilee.

³¹ And they come to you as people come, and they sit before you as My people. And they hear your words, but they do not do them. For they produce much love with their mouth, but their heart goes after their unjust gain.

⁶ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My fear? says Jehovah of hosts to you, O priests who despise My name. But you say, In what have we despised Your name?

²² Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power?

⁴⁹ And coming up at once to Jesus, he said, Hail, Rabbi. And he ardently kissed Him.

²² But knowing their thoughts, answering Jesus said to them, Why do you reason in your hearts?

³¹ And answering, Jesus said to them, Those who are sound have no need of a physician, but those who have illness.

⁸ But He knew their reasonings. And He said to the man having the withered hand, Rise up and stand in the middle! And rising up, he stood.

¹⁸ And a certain ruler asked Him saying, Good Teacher, what may I do to inherit eternal life?

²⁰ And watching carefully, they sent spies, pretending themselves to be righteous, in order that they might seize upon a word of His, so as to deliver Him to the power and to the authority of the governor. ²¹ And they questioned Him, saying, Teacher, we know that you say and teach rightly, and do not receive a face, but you teach the way of God with truth.

² This one came to Jesus by night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know that You have come as a teacher from God. For no one is able to do these miracles which You do, except God be with Him.

¹³ You call Me the Teacher, and, the Lord. And you say well, for I AM.

¹⁹ Then Jesus knew that they desired to ask Him. And He said to them, Do you seek answers with one another concerning this, because I said, A little while, and you do not see Me; and again a little and you will see Me?

³⁰ Now we know that You know all things and have no need that anyone question You. By this we believe that You came out from God.

³ Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not among the company who met together against Jehovah in the company of Korah, but he died for his own sins, and had no son.

¹ So says Jehovah, Where is the scroll of your mother's divorce whom I have put away? Or who of My creditors that I have sold you to him? Behold, you were sold for your iniquities, and your mother was put away for your trespasses.

¹¹ And Jehovah said to me, The apostate Israel has justified herself more than treacherous Judah.

¹² and forgive us our debts as we also forgive our debtors.

²³ For this reason the kingdom of Heaven has been compared to a man, a king, who decided to take account with his slaves. ²⁴ And when he began to reckon, one debtor of ten thousand talents was brought near to him. ²⁵ But he not having any to pay, the lord commanded him to be sold, also his wife and children, and all things, as much as he had, even to pay back.

²⁸ But going out, that slave found one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred denarii. And seizing him, he choked him, saying, Pay me whatever you owe.

⁴⁷ For this reason I say to you, her many sins are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, he loves little.

⁴ and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

⁴⁸ But he not knowing, and doing things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few. And everyone given much, much will be demanded from him. And to whom much was deposited, more exceedingly they will ask of him.

⁴ Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them, do you think that these were sinners beyond all men who lived in Jerusalem?

²² If I had not come and had not spoken to them, they had no sin. But now they do not have excuse as to their sin. ²³ The one hating Me also hates My Father. ²⁴ If I did not do the works among them which no other did, they had no sin. But now they both have seen and also have hated Me and My Father.

²³ for all sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

²⁰ But Law came in beside, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace much more abounded,

¹⁵ Faithful is the Word and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. ¹⁶ But for this reason I received mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, for an example to those being about to believe on Him to everlasting life.

⁸ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. ⁹ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous that He may forgive us the sins, and may cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ¹⁰ If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

¹ A Psalm of David. A Contemplation. Blessed is he whose transgression is lifted, whose sin is covered. ² Blessed is the man to whom Jehovah does not charge iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. ³ When I kept silence, then my bones became old, through my howling all day. ⁴ For by day and by night Your hand was heavy on me; my sap was turned into the droughts of summer. Selah. ⁵ I confessed my sin to You, and I have not hidden my iniquity; I said, I will confess over my transgression to Jehovah; and You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

⁷ A man cannot at all redeem a brother, nor give to God a ransom for him, ⁸ for the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceases forever,

¹ To the chief musician, A Psalm of David when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your loving-kindness, according to the multitude of Your tender mercies; blot out my transgressions. ² Wash me completely from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. ³ For I know my transgressions; and my sin is ever before me.

³ who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases;

²⁵ I, even I, am He who blots out your trespasses for My sake; and I will not remember your sins.

²² I have blotted out your transgressions like a thick cloud; and your sins like a cloud. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.

³³ But this shall be the covenant that I will cut with the house of Israel: After those days, declares Jehovah, I will put My law in their inward parts, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. ³⁴ And they shall no longer each man teach his neighbor, and each man his brother, saying, Know Jehovah. For they shall all know Me, from the least of them even to the greatest of them, declares Jehovah. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sins no more.

¹⁸ O my God, bow down Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our ruins and the city which is called by Your name. For we do not present our prayers before You on account of our righteousnesses, but because of Your great mercies. ¹⁹ O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay, for Your own sake, O my God. For Your name is called on Your city and on Your people.

¹⁸ Who is a God like You, forgiving iniquity and passing by the transgression of the remnant of His possession? He does not make strong His anger forever, for He delights in grace. ¹⁹ He will return to show us compassion; He will trample our iniquities. Yea, You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. ²⁰ You will give faithfulness to Jacob, kindness to Abraham, which You have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

²⁵ But he not having any to pay, the lord commanded him to be sold, also his wife and children, and all things, as much as he had, even to pay back. ²⁶ Then falling down, the slave bowed the knee to him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay all to you.

³⁴ And being angry, his lord delivered him up to the tormentors until he pay back all that debt to him.

³⁸ Then let it be known to you, men, brothers, that through this One remission of sin is announced to you. ³⁹ And everyone believing in this One is justified from all things which you could not be justified by the Law of Moses.

²⁴ being justified freely by His grace through the redemption in Christ Jesus,

⁵ But to the one not working, but believing on Him justifying the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. ⁶ Even as also David says of the blessedness of the man to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: ⁷ "Blessed are those whose lawlessnesses are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; ⁸ blessed the man to whom the Lord will in no way charge sin." LXX-Psa. 31:1, 2; MT-Psa. 32:1, 2

⁶ for we yet being without strength, in due time Christ died for ungodly ones.

¹⁰ For as many as are out of works of law, these are under a curse. For it has been written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all the things having been written in the book of the Law, to do them." Deut. 27:26

⁷ in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

³² And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, having forgiven one another, even as also God forgave you in Christ.

¹³ bearing with one another and forgiving yourselves, if anyone has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also you should forgive .

¹⁶ O Jehovah, truly I am Your servant now; I am Your servant, the son of Your handmaid; You have loosed my bonds. ¹⁷ I will sacrifice to You the sacrifice of thanks and will call on the name of Jehovah. ¹⁸ I will pay my vows to Jehovah now in the presence of all His people,

³⁴ And seeing that he answered intelligently, Jesus said to him, You are not far from the kingdom of God. And no one dared to question Him any more.

³⁸ And as they went on, it happened, He also entered into a certain village. And a certain woman, Martha by name, received Him into her house.

⁹ For I am the least of the apostles, who am not sufficient to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. ¹⁰ But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace which was toward me has not been without fruit, but I labored more abundantly than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ constrains us, having judged this, that if One died for all, then the all died; ¹⁵ and He died for all, that the living ones may live no more to themselves, but to the One having died for them and having been raised.

¹³ the one who before was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and insolent; but I received mercy, because being ignorant I did it in unbelief. ¹⁴ But the grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love in Christ Jesus.

² And he said, Behold, now, my lords, please turn into your servant's house and lodge, and wash your feet; and rise early and go to your way. And they said, No, for we will lodge in the street.

²⁴ And the man brought the men to Joseph's house. And he gave water, and they washed their feet. And he gave fodder for their asses.

²¹ And he brought him to his house, and mixed fodder for the asses. And they washed their feet and ate and drank.

⁴¹ And she rose up and bowed her face to the earth, and said, Behold, let your handmaid be a servant to wash the feet of the servants of my lord.

¹⁰ being witnessed by good works, if she brought up children, if she hosted strangers, if she washed the feet of the saints, if she relieved afflicted ones, if she followed after every good work.

⁶ But you dishonored the poor one. Do not the rich ones oppress you, and they drag you to judgment seats?

¹¹ And Jacob kissed Rachel and lifted up his voice and wept.

⁴ And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck and kissed him. And they wept.

⁵ And it happened, when a man drew near to bow himself to him, he put out his hand and laid hold on him, and gave him a kiss.

³⁹ And all the people crossed over the Jordan, and the king crossed over. And the king gave a kiss to Barzillai and blessed him. And he returned to his place.

⁴⁸ And the one betraying Him gave them a sign, saying, Whomever I may kiss, it is He; seize Him.

¹⁶ Greet one another with a holy kiss. The churches of Christ greet you.

²⁰ The brothers all greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.

²⁶ Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.

³ And you shall bathe, and anoint yourself, and put your garments on you, and go down to the threshing floor. Do not let yourself be known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking.

² And Joab sent to Tekoah and took a wise woman from there, and said to her, Pretend yourself to be a mourner now, and please put on garments of mourning. And do not anoint yourself with oil, and you shall be a woman mourning for the dead these many days.

⁵ You prepare a table for me before my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.

¹⁵ And wine cheers the heart of man; oil makes his face shine, and bread sustains the heart of man.

³ I ate no food for delight, and no flesh or wine came into my mouth. I did not anoint myself at all until three weeks of days were fulfilled.

⁶ who drink bowls of wine, and they anoint with the best of oils; but they are not grieved for the breaking of Joseph!

¹⁵ You shall sow, but you shall not reap. You shall tread the olive, but you shall not anoint with oil; and new wine, but shall not drink wine.

¹⁷ But you in fasting, anoint your head and wash your face,

⁶ And Jehovah passed by before his face and called out: Jehovah! Jehovah God! Merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and great in goodness and truth, ⁷ keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and not leaving entirely unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on sons, and on sons of sons, to the third and to the fourth generation.

¹⁸ Come now and let us reason together, says Jehovah: Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red as the crimson, they shall be like wool.

⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way and the vain man his thoughts; and let him return to Jehovah, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

⁶³ so that you may remember and be ashamed. And you will not any more open your mouth, because of your humiliation, when I am propitiated for you for all that you have done, declared the Lord Jehovah.

²⁹ I will also save you from all your defilements, and I will call for grain and increase it, and I will not put a famine on you. ³⁰ And I will multiply the fruit of the tree and the produce of the field, in order that you will not any more receive the disgrace of famine among the nations. ³¹ And you will remember your evil ways and your doings that were not good, and you will despise yourselves in your own eyes for your iniquities and for your abominations. ³² Let it be known to you that I am not doing this for your sake, states the Lord Jehovah. Be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.

¹⁹ He will return to show us compassion; He will trample our iniquities. Yea, You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

³⁷ He that loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he that loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

²⁰ And seeing their faith, He said to him, Man, your sins have been forgiven you. ²¹ And the scribes and Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who is able to forgive sins except God alone?

⁴² But they not having a thing to pay, he freely forgave both. Then which of them do you say will love him most? ⁴³ And answering, Simon said, I suppose the one to whom he freely forgave the most. And He said to him, You have judged rightly.

¹⁵ Then when they broke fast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Feed My lambs! ¹⁶ Again He says to him, secondly, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me? He says to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Shepherd My sheep! ¹⁷ Thirdly, He said to him, Simon son of Jonah, do you love Me? Peter was grieved that He said to him a third time, Do you love Me? And he said to him, Lord, You perceive all things, You know that I love You! Jesus said to him, Feed My sheep!

³¹ This One God has exalted as a Ruler and Savior to His right hand, to give to Israel repentance and remission of sins.

⁹ Or do you not know that unjust ones will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be led astray, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers, nor homosexuals, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous ones, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor plunderers shall inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And some were these things, but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ constrains us, having judged this, that if One died for all, then the all died;

²⁴ Grace be with all those that love our Lord Jesus Christ in incorruptibility. Amen.

⁹ And this I pray, that your love may yet abound more and more in full knowledge and all perception,

¹⁴ But the grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love in Christ Jesus.

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of His Son Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.

¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word, or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

¹⁹ We love Him because He first loved us.

³ For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not heavy.

² And, behold! They were bringing a paralytic lying on a cot to Him. And seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, Be comforted, child. Your sins have been forgiven you.

⁵ And seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, Child, your sins are forgiven to you.

²⁰ And seeing their faith, He said to him, Man, your sins have been forgiven you.

³ And, behold, some of the scribes said within themselves, This one blasphemes.

⁷ Why does this one speak blasphemies this way? Who is able to forgive sins, except One, God?

⁷ Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God now is pleased with your works.

⁴ Behold, the soul of him is puffed up and is not upright; but the just shall live by his faith.

²² But turning and seeing her, Jesus said, Be comforted, daughter; your faith has healed you. And the woman was healed from that hour.

⁵² And Jesus said to him, Go, your faith has healed you. And instantly he saw again, and followed Jesus in the highway.

¹⁸ Then observe how you hear; for whoever may have, it will be given to him; and whoever may not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him.

⁴⁸ And He said to her, Daughter, be comforted. Your faith has healed you. Go in peace.

⁴² And Jesus said to him, See again! Your faith has healed you.

¹ Then being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, ² through whom also we have had access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we glory on the hope of the glory of God.

⁸ For by grace you are saved, through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; ⁹ not of works, that not anyone should boast; ¹⁰ for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.

¹⁴ My brothers, what is the gain if anyone says he has faith, but he does not have works? Is faith able to save him? ¹⁵ But if a brother or a sister is naked and may be lacking in daily food, ¹⁶ and any one of you say to them, Go in peace, be warmed and filled, but does not give them the things the body needs, what gain is it ? ¹⁷ So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead being by itself. ¹⁸ But someone will say, You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith out of my works. ¹⁹ You believe that God is one. You do well; even the demons believe and shudder. ²⁰ But are you willing to know, O vain man, that faith apart from works is dead? ²¹ Was not our father Abraham justified by works offering up his son Isaac on the altar? Gen. 22:9 ²² You see that faith worked with his works; and out of the works the faith was made perfected. ²³ And the Scripture was fulfilled, saying, "And Abraham believed God, and it was counted for righteousness to him;" and he was called, Friend of God. Gen. 15:6; Isa. 41:8 ²⁴ You see, then, that a man is justified out of works, and not out of faith only. ²⁵ But in the same way Rahab the harlot was also justified out of works, having received the messengers, and sending them out by another way. ²⁶ For as the body is dead apart from the spirit, so also faith is dead apart from works.
