¹ And He also spoke a parable to them to teach it is always right to pray, and not to faint, ² saying, A certain judge was in a certain city, not fearing God and not respecting man. ³ And a widow was in that city, and she came to him, saying, Avenge me from my adversary. ⁴ And for a time he would not. But after these things he said to himself, Even if I do not fear God, and do not respect man, ⁵ yet because this widow causes me trouble, I will avenge her, that not coming to the end, she subdue me. ⁶ And the Lord said, Hear what the unrighteous judge says; ⁷ and will God not at all execute the avenging of His elect, those crying to Him day and night, also having been long-suffering over them? ⁸ I say to you that He will carry out the avenging of them speedily. But the Son of man coming then, will He find faith on the earth? ⁹ And He also spoke this parable to some of those relying on themselves, that they are righteous, and despising the rest: ¹⁰ Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax collector. ¹¹ The Pharisee was standing, praying these things to himself: God, I thank You that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. ¹² I fast twice in the week; I tithe all things, as many as I get. ¹³ And standing at a distance, the tax collector would not even lift up his eyes to Heaven, but smote on his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me, the sinner! ¹⁴ I say to you, this one went down to his house having been justified, rather than that one. For everyone exalting himself will be humbled. And the one humbling himself will be exalted. ¹⁵ And they brought infants to Him also, that He might touch them. But seeing, the disciples rebuked them. ¹⁶ But Jesus called them near, saying, Allow the children to come to Me, and do not prevent them. For of such is the kingdom of God. ¹⁷ Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child, not at all will enter into it. ¹⁸ And a certain ruler asked Him saying, Good Teacher, what may I do to inherit eternal life? ¹⁹ But Jesus said to him, Why do you say Me to be good? No one is good, except One: God. ²⁰ You know the commandments: "Do not commit adultery," "do not murder," "do not steal," "do not bear false witness," "honor your father and your mother." Ex. 20:12-16 ²¹ And he said, I have kept all these from my youth. ²² And hearing these things, Jesus said to him, Yet one thing is lacking to you: sell all, as much as you have, and give to the poor; and you will have treasure in Heaven. And come, follow Me. ²³ But hearing these things, he became very much grieved, for he was exceedingly rich. ²⁴ And seeing him having become very much grieved, Jesus said, How hardly those having riches shall enter into the kingdom of God! ²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to go in through a needle's eye than for a rich one to enter into the kingdom of God. ²⁶ And those hearing said, And who is able to be saved? ²⁷ But He said, The things impossible with men are possible with God. ²⁸ And Peter said, Behold, we left all and followed You. ²⁹ And He said to them, Truly I say to you, There is no one who has left house, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, ³⁰ who shall not receive many times more in this time, and in the age that is coming, everlasting life. ³¹ And taking the Twelve, He said to them, Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things will be fulfilled which have been written through the prophets to the Son of man. ³² For He will be delivered up to the nations, and will be mocked, and will be insulted, and will be spat upon. ³³ And flogging Him, they will kill Him. And on the third day He will rise again. ³⁴ And they did not understand these things, nothing! And this saying had been hidden from them, and they did not know the things being said. ³⁵ And it happened as He drew near to Jericho, a certain blind one sat by the highway, begging. ³⁶ And a crowd passing through, he asked what this might be. ³⁷ And they reported to him that Jesus the Nazarene is passing by. ³⁸ And he cried out, saying, Jesus, son of David, pity me! ³⁹ And those going before rebuked him, that he be quiet. But he much more cried out, Son of David, pity me! ⁴⁰ And standing still, Jesus commanded him to be brought to Him. And he drawing near, He asked him, ⁴¹ saying, What do you desire I do to you? And he said, Lord, that I may see again. ⁴² And Jesus said to him, See again! Your faith has healed you. ⁴³ And instantly he saw again. And he followed Him, glorifying God. And seeing, all the people gave praise to God.

⁹ And Jacob said, Oh God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, Jehovah, who said to me, Go back to your land and to your kindred and I will deal well with you. ¹⁰ I am not worthy of all the mercies and all the truth which You have done for Your servant, for I passed over this Jordan with my staff, and now I have become two companies. ¹¹ Deliver me, I pray, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau; for I fear him, lest he come and strike me, mother to sons. ¹² And You said, I will surely deal well with you, and I will make your seed like the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

²⁴ And Jacob was left alone. And a Man wrestled with him until the ascending of the dawn. ²⁵ And He saw that He had not prevailed against him. And He touched on his hip socket, and Jacob's hip socket was unhinged as he wrestled with Him. ²⁶ And He said, Send me away, for the dawn has ascended. And he said, I will not let you go unless You bless me.

⁸ For what is the hope of the ungodly when He cuts off, when God pulls out his soul? ⁹ Will God hear his cry when distress comes upon him? ¹⁰ Will he delight in the Almighty? Will he call on God at every time?

¹³ I would have fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah in the land of the living.

¹⁶ I, even I, will call to God, and Jehovah will save me. ¹⁷ Evening and morning, and at noon, I will complain and cry aloud; and He shall hear my voice.

² To You who hears prayer, all flesh comes.

³ Be gracious to Me, O Lord, for I cry to You daily.

¹⁷ He will turn to the prayer of the destitute, and will not despise their prayer.

⁵ I cried to You, O Jehovah; I said, You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living. ⁶ Attend to my cry; for I am brought very low; deliver me from those who pursue me; for they are stronger than I. ⁷ Bring my soul out from prison to give thanks to Your name; the righteous shall gather around me; for You shall deal bountifully with me.

¹² Then you shall call on Me, and you shall go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.

⁷ When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Jehovah; and my prayer came to You, to Your holy temple.

⁵ And He said to them, Who of you shall have a friend, and will come to him at midnight and say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves. ⁶ For a friend of mine arrived to me from a journey, and I do not have what I may set before him. ⁷ And answering from within that one may say, Do not cause me troubles. The door has already been shut, and my children are in bed with me. I cannot rise up to give to you. ⁸ I say to you, even if rising up he will not give to him because he is a friend, yet because of his shameless insisting, rising up he will give him as many as he needs. ⁹ And I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

³⁶ Then be watchful at every time, begging that you be counted worthy to escape all these things which are about to happen, and to stand before the Son of man.

¹² in hope, rejoicing; in affliction, enduring; in prayer, steadfastly continuing;

¹ Therefore, having this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we do not faint.

⁹ But we should not weaken in doing good, for in due time we shall reap, if we do not faint.

¹⁸ through all prayer and petition, praying at every time in the Spirit, and watching to this same thing with all perseverance and petition concerning all the saints.

⁶ Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and by petition with thanksgivings, let your requests be made known to God;

² Steadfastly continue in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving,

¹² Epaphras greets you, he of you, a slave of Christ, always striving for you in prayers, that you may stand full-grown and being complete in every will of God.

¹⁷ Pray without ceasing.

³ For consider Him who had endured such gainsaying of sinners against Himself, that you do not grow weary, fainting in your souls. ⁴ You did not yet resist unto blood, wrestling against sin. ⁵ And you have forgotten the exhortation which He speaks with you, as with sons, "My sons, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor faint while being corrected by Him.

²¹ And you, you shall look out men of ability out of all the people, who fear God, men of truth, haters of unjust gain. And you place these over them as rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. ²² And let them judge the people at all times. And it shall be that every great matter they shall bring to you, and every small matter they shall judge. And you make it easy on yourself, and let them bear with you.

³ But good things have been found with you, for you have burned the Asherahs out of the land, and have fixed your heart to seek God. ⁴ And Jehoshaphat lived in Jerusalem, and he went out again among the people, from Beersheba to the hills of Ephraim, and brought them back to Jehovah the God of their fathers. ⁵ And he placed judges in the land, in all the fortified cities of Judah, for every city; ⁶ and said to the judges, Watch what you are doing, for you shall not judge for man, but for Jehovah, and He is with you in the matter of judgment; ⁷ and now, let the fear of Jehovah be upon you; watch and act, for there is no perverseness with Jehovah our God, nor lifting up of faces, nor taking of a bribe. ⁸ And also in Jerusalem Jehoshaphat caused to stand from the Levites and from the priests, and from the heads of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of Jehovah, and for strife; and they returned to Jerusalem. ⁹ And he charged them, saying, So shall you do in the fear of Jehovah, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.

⁷ when I went out to the gate by the city; when I prepared my seat in the street. ⁸ The young men saw me and hid themselves; the aged rose up, stood up; ⁹ the rulers held back with words, and they laid a hand on their mouth; ¹⁰ the leaders' voice was hidden; yea, their tongue clung to the roof of their mouth. ¹¹ For the ear heard, and blessed me; and the eye saw, and witnessed for me. ¹² For I delivered the poor who cried for help and the orphan who had no helper to him. ¹³ The blessing of the perishing came on me; and I made the widow's heart to sing. ¹⁴ I put on righteousness and it clothed me; my judgment was like a robe and a diadem. ¹⁵ I was eyes to the blind, and feet for the lame. ¹⁶ I was father to the poor, and the cause which I did not know, I searched out. ¹⁷ I broke the fangs of the perverse, and cast the prey out of his teeth.

¹ To the chief musician, on the harp. A Psalm of David. O Jehovah, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth; You have set Your glory above the heavens! ² Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings, You have ordained strength, because of Your tormenters, to cause the enemy and the avenger to cease. ³ When I look upon Your heavens, the work of Your fingers: the moon and the stars which You have fixed; ⁴ what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man, that You visit him?

⁷ The righteous attends to the cause of the weak; the wicked does not discern knowledge.

⁸ The highways are deserted; the path crosser ceases. He has broken the covenant; he has rejected cities; he has not respected man.

¹⁶ He judged the cause of the poor and needy, then it was well. Was this not to know Me, says Jehovah? ¹⁷ But your eyes and your heart lust for nothing but your unjust gain, and to shed innocent blood, and oppression, and to do violence.

⁶ Behold, the rulers of Israel, each man by his might, have been in you in order to shed blood. ⁷ In you they have despised father and mother. In your midst they have dealt with the alien by oppression. In you they oppressed the widow and the orphan. ⁸ You have despised My holy things and have profaned My sabbaths.

¹ And I said, Heads of Jacob and magistrates of the house of Israel, please hear. Is it not for you to know justice? ² Those hating good and loving evil, who pull their skin off them, and their flesh from their bones; ³ who also eat the flesh of My people, and cause their skin to come off from them; yea, they break their bones and shatter, like that in the pot, and as flesh in the midst of the kettle.

⁴ And for a time he would not. But after these things he said to himself, Even if I do not fear God, and do not respect man,

¹⁴ whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. ¹⁵ Their feet are swift to shed blood; ¹⁶ ruin and misery are in their way; ¹⁷ and they did not know a way of peace; ¹⁸ there is no fear of God before their eyes." ¹⁹ Cursed is he who perverts the judgment of the alien, the fatherless, and widow! And all the people shall say, Amen!

⁵ And the king said to her, What shall be to you? And she said, Truly I am a widow woman, and my husband died. ⁶ And your servant had two sons. And the two of them fought in the field, and there was no deliverer between them. And the one struck the other, and killed him. ⁷ And, behold, the whole family has risen against your servant, and said, Give up him who struck his brother, and we shall kill him for the life of his brother whom he has slain. And we shall also destroy the heir. And they shall quench my coal which is left, so as not to set to my husband a name and remnant on the fact of the earth. ⁸ And the king said to the woman, Go to your house, and I will give command concerning you. ⁹ And the woman of Tekoah said to the king, My lord, O king, let the iniquity be on me, and on my father's house; and the king and his throne shall be guiltless. ¹⁰ And the king said, Whoever speaks to you, you also shall bring him to me, then he shall not touch you any more. ¹¹ And she said, Please let the king remember Jehovah your God, that the redeemer of blood not destroy any more, and that they may not destroy my son. And he said, As Jehovah lives, not one hair of your son shall fall to the earth. ¹² And the woman said, Please let your servant speak a word to my lord the king. And he said, Speak. ¹³ And the woman said, And why have you thought in this way about the people of God? Yea, the king is speaking this thing as a guilty one, in that the king has not brought back his outcast. ¹⁴ For we do surely die and are as water which is spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up. And God does not take a life, but has devised plans so that the outcast is not cast out from Him. ¹⁵ And now that I have come to speak this word to my lord the king, because the people made me afraid; and your servant said, Please let me speak to the king; it may be the king shall do the word of his servant. ¹⁶ For the king has listened, to deliver his servant out of the hand of the man seeking to destroy me and my son together, out of the inheritance of God. ¹⁷ And your servant said, Please let the word of my lord the king be comforting. For as a messenger of God, so is my lord the king, to understand the good and the evil. And Jehovah your God shall be with you. ¹⁸ And the king answered and said to the woman, Please do not hide from me the thing that I am asking you. And the woman said, Then let my lord the king speak. ¹⁹ And the king said, Is the hand of Joab with you in all this? And the woman answered and said, As your soul lives, my lord, O king, none shall turn to the right or to the left from all that my lord the king has spoken. For your servant Joab commanded me, and he put all these words in your servant's mouth. ²⁰ Your servant Joab has done this thing to turn about the face of the matter, and my lord is wise according to the wisdom of an angel of God, to know all that is in the land. ²¹ And the king said to Joab, Behold, now, I have done this thing. Then go, bring back the young man Absalom. ²² And Joab fell on his face to the earth, and bowed, and blessed the king. And Joab said, Today your servant has known that I have found grace in your eyes, my lord, O king, in that the king has done the word of his servant. ²³ And Joab rose up and went to Geshur, and brought Absalom to Jerusalem. ²⁴ And the king said, Let him turn to his house, and he shall not see my face. And Absalom turned to his house, and he did not see the king's face.

⁹ You have sent widows away empty, and have crushed the arms of orphans.

¹³ The blessing of the perishing came on me; and I made the widow's heart to sing.

¹⁷ Learn to do good, seek justice, reprove the oppressor, judge the orphan, strive for the widow.

²¹ Oh how the faithful city has become a harlot! She was full of justice; righteousness lodged in it. But now, murderers! ²² Your silver has become dross; your wine is diluted with water. ²³ Your princes are rebellious and companions of thieves. Everyone loves a bribe, and is pursuing rewards. They do not judge the orphan, nor does the cause of the widow come to them,

²⁸ They have become fat; they shine. Yes, they pass over the deeds of the evil; they do not plead the cause, the cause of the orphan, that they may prosper. And they do not vindicate the right of the needy.

⁷ and will God not at all execute the avenging of His elect, those crying to Him day and night, also having been long-suffering over them? ⁸ I say to you that He will carry out the avenging of them speedily. But the Son of man coming then, will He find faith on the earth?

³ For the rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the bad. And do you desire not to fear the authority? Do the good, and you will have praise from it; ⁴ for it is a servant of God to you for the good. But if you practice evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to the one practicing evil.

¹⁷ And he reasoned within himself, saying, What may I do, for I have nowhere I may gather my fruits?

³ And the steward said within himself, What shall I do, for my Lord is taking away the stewardship from me? I am not able to dig, and I am ashamed to beg.

¹² For the word of God is living, and powerfully working, and sharper than every two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of both soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge of the thoughts and intentions of the heart; ¹³ and there is no creature unrevealed before Him; but all things are naked and laid open to His eyes, with whom is our account.

¹⁶ And it happened, because she distressed him with her words all the days, and urged him; and his soul was grieved to death,

²⁴ And Absalom came to the king and said, Behold, your servant now has shearers. Please let the king and his servants go with your servant. ²⁵ And the king said to Absalom, No, my son, let us not all go now, and we shall not be too heavy on you. But he urged him, and he was not willing to go, but he blessed him. ²⁶ And Absalom said, If not, please let my brother Amnon go with us. And the king said to him, Why should he go with you? ²⁷ And Absalom urged him, and he sent Amnon with him, and all the king's sons.

²³ But He did not answer her a word. And coming near, His disciples asked Him, saying, Send her away, for she cries out after us.

⁴⁷ And hearing that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and to say, Son of David, Jesus, have mercy on me! ⁴⁸ And many warned him that he be quiet. But he much more cried out, Son of David, have mercy on me!

⁸ I say to you, even if rising up he will not give to him because he is a friend, yet because of his shameless insisting, rising up he will give him as many as he needs.

³⁹ And those going before rebuked him, that he be quiet. But he much more cried out, Son of David, pity me!

¹³ And seeing her, the Lord felt pity over her and said to her, Stop weeping.

¹² Jehovah shall judge between you and me, and Jehovah shall avenge me of you. But my hand shall not be on you. ¹³ As the proverb of the ancients says, Wickedness proceeds from the wicked. But my hand shall not be on you. ¹⁴ After whom has the king of Israel come out? After whom are you pursuing? After a dead dog? After a flea? ¹⁵ Yea, Jehovah shall be judge, and shall judge between you and me. Yea, He shall see and contend for my cause, and shall deliver me out of your hand.

¹⁰ And David said, As Jehovah lives, except Jehovah strike him, or his day shall come and he dies, or he goes down and is devoured in battle, ¹¹ far be it from me, by Jehovah, from putting forth my hand against the anointed of Jehovah. And now, please take the spear at his head-place, and the jar of water, and we will go.

⁸ And He shall judge the world in righteousness; He shall judge the peoples in uprightness.

¹⁵ Break the arm of the wicked and evil one; search out his wickedness until You find none. ¹⁶ Jehovah is king forever and ever; the nations have perished out of His land. ¹⁷ O Jehovah, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart. Your ear will hear, ¹⁸ judge the orphan and the crushed. No more shall the man of the earth continue to terrify.

¹ To the chief musician. A Psalm of David. Until when will You forget me, O Jehovah? Forever? Until when will You hide Your face from me? ² Until when shall I set counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart every day? Until when shall my enemy be lifted up over me?

¹ To the Chief Musician on Neginoth. A Contemplation; A Psalm of David, when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, Does not David hide himself among us? Save me, O God, by Your name; and judge me by Your strength. ² Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth. ³ For strangers have risen up against me; and terrifying men seek after my soul; they have not set God before them. Selah. ⁴ Behold, God is my helper. The Lord is with those who uphold my soul. ⁵ He shall reward evil to my enemies; cut them off in Your truth. ⁶ I will freely sacrifice to You; I will praise Your name, O Jehovah, for it is good. ⁷ For He has delivered me out of all trouble; and my eye has seen its desire on my enemies.

¹¹ But Jehovah is with me like a mighty, awesome one. On account of this my persecutors shall stumble and will not prevail. And they shall be greatly ashamed. For they have not acted wisely; they are an everlasting disgrace that will not be forgotten. ¹² But, O Jehovah of Hosts, who tries the righteous, who sees the reins and the heart, let me see Your vengeance on them; for I have revealed my cause to You. ¹³ Sing to Jehovah. Praise Jehovah. For He has delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.

³ For the vision is still for the appointed time, but it breathes to the end, and it does not lie. Though it delays, wait for it, because it will surely come; it will not tarry.

¹¹ Therefore, if you, being evil. know to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in Heaven give good things to those that ask Him?

³⁷ and she was a widow of eighty four years, who did not depart from the temple, serving night and day with fastings and prayers.

¹³ Then if you being evil know to give good gifts to your children, how much more the Father out of Heaven will give the Holy Spirit to those asking Him.

³³ Who will bring any charge against God's elect? God is the One justifying!

¹² Then put on as the elect of God, holy and beloved, tender feelings of compassions, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering,

¹⁰ night and day praying exceedingly for me to see your face, and to complete the things lacking in your faith?

⁶ since it is a just thing with God to pay back tribulation to the ones troubling you,

⁵ But honor the one being really a widow, even having been left alone, who has set her hope on God and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.

³ I have thanks to God, whom I worship from my forebears in a pure conscience, how unceasingly I have remembrance concerning you in my petitions night and day,

¹ Paul, a slave of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ according to the faith of the elect of God and full knowledge of the truth according to godliness,

³⁵ Then do not throw away your confidence, which has great reward. ³⁶ For you have need of patience, that having done the will of God you may obtain the promise. ³⁷ For, yet a very little and the One coming will come, "and will not delay." Hab. 2:3

⁹ The Lord of the promise is not slow, as some deem slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not having purposed any of us to perish, but all of us to come to repentance.

¹⁰ And they cried with a great voice, saying, Until when, holy and true Master, do You not judge and take vengeance for our blood, from those dwelling on the earth?

¹⁵ Because of this they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His sanctuary. And He sitting on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them.

²⁰ Rejoice over her, Heaven, and the holy apostles, and the prophets, because God judged your judgment on her.

⁵ God is in the midst of her; she shall not be shaken; God will help her at the turning of the morning.

⁷ O Jehovah, answer me quickly; my spirit is failing; do not hide Your face from me lest I be like the ones who go down to the Pit. ⁸ Cause me to hear Your mercy in the morning, for I do trust in You; cause me to know the way I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You. ⁹ O Jehovah, deliver me from my enemies; to You I have hidden.

⁹ Then they will deliver you up to affliction, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. ¹⁰ And then many will be offended, and they will deliver up one another and will hate one another. ¹¹ And many false prophets will be raised and will cause many to err. ¹² And because lawlessness shall have been multiplied, the love of the many will grow cold. ¹³ But the one who endures to the end, that one will be kept safe.

²⁴ For false christs and false prophets will rise up. And they will give great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

²⁶ And as it was in the days of Noah, so also it will be in the days of the Son of man. ²⁷ They were eating, drinking, marrying, giving in marriage, until the day Noah went into the ark. And the flood came and destroyed all. ²⁸ And likewise, as it was in the days of Lot, they were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building; ²⁹ but on the day Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from the heaven and destroyed all. ³⁰ Even so it will be in the day the Son of man is revealed.

¹ But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need for it to be written. ² For you yourselves know accurately the day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night. ³ For when they say, Peace and safety! Then suddenly destruction comes upon them, like travail to the pregnant woman, and they shall not at all escape.

²³ let us hold fast the confession of the hope without yielding, for He who has promised is faithful. ²⁴ And let us consider one another, to incitement of love and of good works, ²⁵ not forsaking the assembling together of ourselves, as is the custom of some, but exhorting, and by so much more as you see the Day drawing near. ²⁶ For if we are willfully sinning after receiving the full knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice concerning sins,

¹ Come now, rich ones, weep, howling over your hardships coming on. ² Your riches have rotted, and your garments have become moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver have rusted over, and their poison will be a testimony to you, and will eat your flesh as fire. You heaped treasure in the last days. ⁴ Behold, the wages of the workmen who have reaped your fields cry out, being kept back by you. And the cries of the ones who have reaped have entered "into the ears of the Lord of Hosts." Isa. 5:9 ⁵ You lived luxuriously on the earth, and lived in self gratification; you nourished your hearts as in a day of slaughter; ⁶ you condemned; you murdered the righteous; he does not resist you. ⁷ Therefore, brothers, be long-suffering until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being long-suffering over it until it may receive the early and the latter rain. ⁸ You also be long-suffering. Set your hearts firmly, because the coming of the Lord has drawn near.

³ And by covetousness, with well-turned words, they will use you for gain, for whom judgment of old does not linger, and their destruction does not slumber.

⁸ But let not this one thing be hidden from you, beloved, that one day with the Lord is "as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." Psa. 90:4 ⁹ The Lord of the promise is not slow, as some deem slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not having purposed any of us to perish, but all of us to come to repentance.

¹² a generation pure in its own eyes, and yet not washed from its own filth.

⁵ who say, Keep to yourself! Do not come near me, for I am holier than you! These are a smoke in My nose, a fire burning all the day.

⁵ Hear the word of Jehovah, those who tremble at His word. Your brothers who hate you, who drive you out for My name's sake, have said, Jehovah is glorified. But He shall appear in your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

³⁹ But seeing, the Pharisee who invited Him spoke within himself, saying, This one, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what the woman who touches him is; for she is a sinner.

²⁹ But desiring to justify himself, he said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor?

² And the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, This one receives sinners and eats with them.

²⁹ But answering, he said to the father, Behold, so many years I serve you, and never have I transgressed a command of you. And you never gave a goat to me, so that I might be merry with my friends. ³⁰ But when this son of yours came, the one devouring your living with harlots, you killed the fattened calf for him.

¹⁵ And He said to them, You are those justifying yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts; for the thing highly prized among men is a hateful thing before God.

¹¹ The Pharisee was standing, praying these things to himself: God, I thank You that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.

⁷ And seeing, all murmured, saying, He has gone in to stay with a sinful man.

⁴⁷ Then the Pharisees answered them, Have you not also been deceived? ⁴⁸ Not any from the rulers or from the Pharisees believed into him? ⁴⁹ But not knowing the Law, this crowd is cursed.

⁴⁸ Then the Jews answered and said to Him, Do we not say well that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?

²⁸ Then they reviled him and said, You are a disciple of that one, but we are disciples of Moses.

³⁴ They answered and said to him, You were born wholly in sins, and do you teach us? And they threw him outside.

²¹ And He said to me, Go, for I will send you to the nations afar off.

⁹ And I was alive apart from law once, but the commandment came, and sin came alive, and I died.

³¹ but Israel following after a law of righteousness did not arrive at a law of righteousness? ³² Why? Because it was not of faith, but as of works of Law. For they stumbled at the Stone-of-stumbling,

³ For being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to the righteousness of God.

¹⁰ But why do you judge your brother? Or why also do you despise your brother? For all shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

⁴ Though I also might have trust in flesh; if any other thinks to trust in flesh, I more; ⁵ in circumcision, the eighth day, of the race of Israel, the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; according to Law, a Pharisee; ⁶ according to zeal, persecuting the church; according to righteousness in Law, being blameless.

³⁰ And You shall listen to the supplication of Your servant, and of Your people Israel when they shall pray toward this place; yea, You shall listen in Your dwelling-place, in Heaven; and You shall hear and shall forgive.

⁵ Return, and you shall say to Hezekiah the leader of My people, So says Jehovah, the God of your father David, I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears; behold, I will heal you; you shall go up to the house of Jehovah the third day.

⁸ And Hezekiah said to Isaiah, What will be the sign that Jehovah will heal me, that I will go up on the third day to the house of Jehovah?

³¹ Which of the two did the will of the father? They said to Him, The first. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, the tax collectors and the harlots go before you into the kingdom of God. ³² For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax-collectors and the harlots believed him. And seeing, you did not repent afterwards to believe him.

⁹ according to the custom of the priests, entering into the Holy Place of the Lord, it was Zacharias' lot to burn incense. ¹⁰ And all the multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of incense.

²⁹ And all the people and the tax collectors hearing, they justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John. ³⁰ But the Pharisees and the lawyers set aside God's counsel as to themselves, not being baptized by him.

⁴⁶ saying to them, It has been written, "My house is a house of prayer," but you made it "a den of robbers." Isa. 56:7; Jer. 7:11

¹ And Peter and John were going up on the same day into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth.

⁶ But knowing that the one part consisted of Sadducees, and the other of Pharisees, Paul cried out in the sanhedrin, Men, brothers, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees; I am being judged concerning hope and resurrection of the dead! ⁷ And he having spoken this, there was a discord between the Pharisees and the Sadducees; and the multitude was divided. ⁸ For the Sadducees indeed say there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit. But Pharisees confess both.

⁵ who before knew me from the first, if they will testify, that according to the most exact sect of our religion, I lived a Pharisee.

⁵ in circumcision, the eighth day, of the race of Israel, the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; according to Law, a Pharisee;

¹ A Song of Ascents. Behold, bless Jehovah, all servants of Jehovah; who stand in the house of Jehovah at night.

² those who stand in the house of Jehovah in the courts of the house of our God;

¹⁵ And when you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you. Yea, when you multiply prayer, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.

² Yet they seek Me day by day, and desire knowledge of My ways. As a nation that has done right, and not forsaking the judgment of their God, they ask Me about judgments of righteousness; they desire to draw near to God.

²⁸ But where are your gods that you have made for yourselves? Let them arise, if they can save you in the time of your evil; for according to the number of your cities are your gods, O Judah.

³⁵ Yet you say, Because I am innocent, surely His anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will judge with you, because you say, I have not sinned.

³¹ And they come to you as people come, and they sit before you as My people. And they hear your words, but they do not do them. For they produce much love with their mouth, but their heart goes after their unjust gain.

¹¹ Her leaders judge for a bribe, and her priests teach for pay, and her prophets divine for silver; yet they will lean on Jehovah, saying, is not Jehovah among us? No evil shall come on us!

⁷ But seeing many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, Offspring of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? ⁸ Therefore, bring forth fruits worthy of repentance. ⁹ And do not think to say within yourselves, We have a father, Abraham. For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. ¹⁰ But already the axe is even laid at the root of the trees; therefore, any tree not bringing forth good fruit is cut down and is thrown into fire.

⁵ And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the open streets so that they may be seen of men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward.

¹⁸ He said to Him, Which? And Jesus said, "You shall not commit murder, nor commit adultery, nor steal, nor bear false witness, ¹⁹ honor your father and your mother," and, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Ex. 20:12-16; Lev. 19:18; Deut. 5:16-20 ²⁰ The young man said to Him, All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?

²⁵ And when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive it, so that your Father in Heaven may also forgive your sins.

⁴⁷ who devour the houses of the widows, and under pretense pray long. These will receive a more severe judgment.

⁷ For who makes you to differ? And what do you have that you did not receive? And if you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive? ⁸ You are already satisfied; you already became rich; you reigned without us (and oh that you really did reign, so that we also might reign with you!)

⁹ For I am the least of the apostles, who am not sufficient to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. ¹⁰ But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace which was toward me has not been without fruit, but I labored more abundantly than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

¹⁰ For as many as are out of works of law, these are under a curse. For it has been written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all the things having been written in the book of the Law, to do them." Deut. 27:26

⁶ according to zeal, persecuting the church; according to righteousness in Law, being blameless.

¹² And I have thanks to Him empowering me, our Lord Jesus Christ, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry, ¹³ the one who before was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and insolent; but I received mercy, because being ignorant I did it in unbelief. ¹⁴ But the grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ Faithful is the Word and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. ¹⁶ But for this reason I received mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, for an example to those being about to believe on Him to everlasting life.

⁹ But if you have partiality to persons, you work sin, having been found guilty as transgressors by the law. ¹⁰ For whoever shall keep all the law, but stumbles in one, he has become guilty of all. ¹¹ For He who said, "You shall not commit adultery," also said, "You shall not murder." Ex. 20:14, 13; Deut. 5:18, 17 But if you do not commit adultery, but commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. ¹² So speak and so do as being about to be judged by the law of liberty.

¹⁷ Because you say, I am rich, and I am made rich, and I have need of nothing, and do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.

³⁰ And all the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land, of the fruit of the tree, shall be Jehovah's; it is holy to Jehovah. ³¹ And if a man really redeems any of his tithes, he shall add its fifth to it. ³² And all the tithe of the herd and of the flock, all that passes under the rod, a tenth shall be holy to Jehovah; ³³ he shall not search whether it is good or bad, nor shall he change it. And if he at all changes it, then it shall be that it and its substitute shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.

²⁴ but the tithes of the sons of Israel which they shall lift up to Jehovah, a heave offering, I have given to the Levites for inheritance; therefore I have said to them, They shall have no inheritance among the sons of Israel.

⁴ And God came to Balaam, and he said to Him, I have set up seven altars. And I have offered a bullock and a ram on the altar.

¹³ And Samuel came to Saul. And Saul said to him, Blessed are you of Jehovah. I have risen to do the word of Jehovah.

¹⁶ And he said, Come with me and see my zeal for Jehovah. And they made him ride in the chariot.

² Yet they seek Me day by day, and desire knowledge of My ways. As a nation that has done right, and not forsaking the judgment of their God, they ask Me about judgments of righteousness; they desire to draw near to God. ³ They say, Why have we fasted, and You did not see? We have afflicted our soul, and You did not acknowledge. Behold, on the day of your fast you find pleasure; and you drive all your laborers hard.

⁵ Speak to all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When you fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh months, even those seventy years, did you truly fast to Me, even to Me? ⁶ And when you ate, and when you drank, was it not for those eating, and for those drinking?

⁸ Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me. But you say, In what have we robbed You? In the tithe and the offering!

¹ Be careful not to do your merciful deeds before men in order to be seen by them. Otherwise, you have no reward from your Father in Heaven.

¹⁶ And when you fast, do not be as the hypocrites, darkening the face, for they disfigure their faces so that they may appear to men to be fasting. Truly I say to you that they have their reward.

¹⁴ Then the disciples of John came to Him, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast much, and Your disciples do not fast?

⁷ Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy concerning you, saying: ⁸ "This people draws near to Me with their mouth, and with their lips honor Me; but their heart is far from Me. ⁹ But in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the ordinances of men." Isa. 29:13

²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and you have left aside the weightier matters of the Law: judgment, and mercy, and faith. It was right to do these, and not to have left those aside. ²⁴ Blind guides, straining out the gnat, but swallowing the camel!

⁴² But woe to you, Pharisees, for you pay tithes of the mint, and the rue, and every plant, and pass by the judgment and the love of God. It was right to do these things, but not to leave aside those.

¹⁰ So also when you have done all things commanded you, you say, We are unprofitable slaves, for we have done what we ought to do.

²⁷ Then where is the boasting? It was excluded. Through what law? Of works? No, but through a law of faith.

¹ Brothers, truly my heart's pleasure and supplication to God on behalf of Israel is for it to be saved. ² For I testify to them that they have zeal to God, but not according to knowledge. ³ For being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to the righteousness of God.

²⁹ so that no flesh might glory in His presence.

¹⁴ And I progressed in Judaism beyond many contemporaries in my race, being much more a zealot of the traditions of my ancestors.

⁹ not of works, that not anyone should boast;

⁸ For bodily exercise is profitable to a little, but godliness is profitable to all things, having promise of the present life and of that coming.

¹² And when he was afflicted, he sought the face of Jehovah his God, and was humbled exceedingly before the face of the God of his fathers; ¹³ and prayed to Him, and He was entreated of him and heard his supplication, and returned him to Jerusalem to his kingdom; and Manasseh knew that Jehovah, He is God.

¹⁹ and his prayer, and his entreaty, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places in which he had built high places and set up the Asherahs and the graven images before he was humbled, behold, they are written in the Matters of the Seers.

²³ And he did not bow before Jehovah, like the humbling of his father Manasseh, for Amon himself multiplied guilt.

⁶ And I said, O my God, I am ashamed and wounded to lift up my face to You, O my God. For our iniquities have increased over our head, and our guiltiness has grown to the heavens.

⁶ Therefore, I despise myself, and I have repented on dust and ashes.

⁷ Do not remember the sins of my youth, or my transgressions. According to Your mercy, remember me, for Your goodness' sake, O Jehovah.

¹¹ For Your name's sake, O Jehovah, even pardon my iniquity for it is great.

¹² For evils have surrounded me until there is no number; my iniquities have taken hold on me and I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails me.

⁴ I said, O Jehovah be gracious to me; heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.

¹ To the chief musician, A Psalm of David when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your loving-kindness, according to the multitude of Your tender mercies; blot out my transgressions. ² Wash me completely from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. ³ For I know my transgressions; and my sin is ever before me.

¹⁵ But You, O God, are God, full of pity; and gracious, longsuffering and rich in mercy and truth. ¹⁶ O turn to me and be gracious to me; give Your strength to Your servant, and save the son of Your handmaid.

⁶ We have sinned with our fathers; we did iniquity; we did wrong.

⁴¹ Vau. By Your word, according to Your salvation, let Your mercies come to me, O Jehovah.

³ If You will keep iniquities, O Jehovah, O Lord, who shall stand? ⁴ But forgiveness is with You that You may be feared.

⁷ Let Israel hope to Jehovah, for with Jehovah is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption;

¹⁸ Come now and let us reason together, says Jehovah: Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red as the crimson, they shall be like wool.

⁵ Then I said, Woe is me! For I am cut off; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I live amongst a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of Hosts.

⁵ You meet him who rejoices and works righteousness; they recall You in Your ways. Behold, You were angry, for we sinned. In I them is eternity, we shall be saved. ⁶ But we are all as the unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as a menstruous cloth. And we all fade as a leaf, and like the wind our iniquities take us away.

¹⁸ I have surely heard Ephraim moaning over himself, saying, You have chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bull not broken in. Turn me, and I shall be turned; for You are Jehovah my God. ¹⁹ For after I had turned away, I repented; and after I was taught, I slapped on my thigh. I was ashamed; yea, I even blushed, because I bore the disgrace of my youth.

⁶³ so that you may remember and be ashamed. And you will not any more open your mouth, because of your humiliation, when I am propitiated for you for all that you have done, declared the Lord Jehovah.

⁵ we have sinned and have committed iniquity and have done evilly, and we have rebelled, even by departing from Your commandments and from Your judgments.

⁷ O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us the shame of our faces, as it is this day to the men of Judah, and to the dwellers of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, who are near and who are afar through all the lands where You have scattered them for their unfaithfulness which they have done against You. ⁸ O Lord, shame of face belongs to us, to our kings, to our rulers and to our fathers, because we have sinned against You. ⁹ To the Lord our God belong mercies and pardons, for we have rebelled against Him. ¹⁰ We have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in His laws which he set before us by His servants the prophets. ¹¹ Yea, all Israel has transgressed Your law and turned aside that they might not obey Your voice. For this reason the curse has poured out on us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against Him.

¹⁸ O my God, bow down Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our ruins and the city which is called by Your name. For we do not present our prayers before You on account of our righteousnesses, but because of Your great mercies. ¹⁹ O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay, for Your own sake, O my God. For Your name is called on Your city and on Your people.

¹³ But going, learn what this is, "I desire mercy and not sacrifice." For I did not come to call righteous ones, but sinners to repentance. Hos. 6:6

⁸ And seeing, Simon Peter fell at the knees of Jesus, saying, Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord.

⁶ And Jesus went with them. But He being yet not far away from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, Lord, do not trouble, for I am not worthy that You come under my roof. ⁷ For this reason I did not count myself worthy to come to You. But say in a word, and let my servant be cured.

¹⁸ Rising up, I will go to my father, and I will say to him, Father, I sinned against Heaven and before you, ¹⁹ and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your hired servants. ²⁰ And rising up, he came to his father. But he yet being far away, his father saw him and was moved with pity. And running, he fell on his neck and fervently kissed him. ²¹ And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven and before you, and no longer am I worthy to be called your son.

¹² And He entering into a certain village, ten leprous men met Him, who stood afar off.

⁴⁰ But answering, the other rebuked him, saying, Do you not fear God, for you are in the same judgment? ⁴¹ And we indeed justly, for we receive things worthy of what we did. But this One did nothing wrong. ⁴² And he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come in Your kingdom. ⁴³ And Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.

⁴⁸ And all the crowd arriving together at this sight, watching the thing happening, beating their breasts, they returned.

³⁷ And hearing, they were stabbed in the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Men, brothers, What shall we do?

⁸ but God commends His love to us in this, that we being yet sinners, Christ died for us.

²⁰ But Law came in beside, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace much more abounded, ²¹ that as sin ruled in death, so also grace might rule through righteousness to everlasting life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

¹¹ For behold this same thing, you being grieved according to God, how much it worked out earnestness in you, but also defense, but also indignation, but also fear, but also desire, but also zeal, but also vengeance! In everything you commended yourselves to be clear in the matter.

¹⁵ Faithful is the Word and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

¹⁶ Therefore, let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and we may find grace for help in time of need.

¹² For I will be merciful to their unrighteousnesses, and I will not at all remember their sins and their lawless deeds." LXX-Jer. 38:31-34; MT-Jer. 31:31-34

⁸ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. ⁹ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous that He may forgive us the sins, and may cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ¹⁰ If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

¹¹ Now I know that Jehovah is greater than all the gods; truly, in the way in which they were proved against them.

¹⁸ And she said, Let your handmaid find grace in your eyes. And the woman went her way, and ate, and her face was no longer sad.

²⁰ If I justify myself, my mouth will condemn me; though I am perfect, He shall declare me perverse;

²⁹ For they have humiliated you; and you shall say, Pride! And He shall save the lowly of eyes.

⁴ How then can man be justified with God? Or how can one who is horn of a woman be pure?

⁹ And have you an arm like God; or can you thunder with a voice like His? ¹⁰ Adorn yourself with majesty now, and with grandeur, and clothe yourself with glory and honor; ¹¹ pour forth the outbursts of your anger; yea, look on everyone who is proud, and bring him down low; ¹² look on everyone who is proud, and humble him, and trample the wicked in their place; ¹³ hide them in the dust together; bind their faces in darkness.

⁶ Though Jehovah is high, yet He looks upon the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar.

² and do not enter into judgment with Your servant; for not anyone living is just in Your sight.

³⁴ Surely He scorns the scorners, but He gives grace to the lowly.

³³ The fear of Jehovah is instruction in wisdom, and before honor is humility.

¹⁸ Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. ¹⁹ It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor than to divide the spoil with the proud.

¹² Before shattering, a man's heart is haughty, but humility goes before honor.

²³ The pride of man brings him low, but the humble of spirit takes hold of honor.

⁷ Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God now is pleased with your works.

¹¹ The lofty eyes of man shall be humbled, and the pride of men shall be bowed down; but Jehovah, He alone, will be exalted in that day. ¹² For the day of Jehovah of Hosts shall be on all the proud and lofty ones, and on all that is lifted up; and it will be abased; ¹³ and against all Lebanon's cedars, high and lifted up; and against all the oaks of Bashan; ¹⁴ and against all the high mountains; and against all the lifted up hills; ¹⁵ and against every tall tower; and against every fortified wall; ¹⁶ and against all the ships of Tarshish; and on all pleasurable craft. ¹⁷ And the pride of man shall be humbled; and the loftiness of men shall be abased; and Jehovah alone will be exalted in that day.

²⁵ In Jehovah all of the seed of Israel shall be justified, and shall glory.

¹¹ He shall see the fruit of the travail of His soul; He shall be fully satisfied. By His knowledge shall My righteous Servant justify for many, and He shall bear their iniquities.

¹⁵ For so says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, and His name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, even with the contrite and humble of spirit; to make live the spirit of the humble and to make live the heart of the contrite ones.

³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and honor the King of Heaven, for all His works are truth, and His ways are justice. And He is able to humble those who walk in pride.

⁴ Behold, the soul of him is puffed up and is not upright; but the just shall live by his faith.

³ Blessed are the poor in spirit! For theirs is the kingdom of the Heavens.

¹² And whoever will exalt himself shall be humbled, and whoever will humble himself shall be exalted.

⁵² He put down powerful ones from thrones, and exalted lowly ones.

²⁴ But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on the earth to forgive sins, He said to the paralytic, I say to you, Rise up, and take your cot and go to your house. ²⁵ And rising up at once before them, taking up that on which he was lying, he went to his house glorifying God.

⁴⁷ For this reason I say to you, her many sins are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, he loves little. ⁴⁸ And He said to her, Your sins are forgiven. ⁴⁹ And those reclining with Him began to say within themselves, Who is this who even forgives sins? ⁵⁰ But He said to the woman, Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.

¹¹ For everyone exalting himself will be humbled, and the one humbling himself will be exalted.

²⁰ Because by works of law not one of all flesh will be justified before Him, for through law is full knowledge of sin. Psa. 143:2

⁵ But to the one not working, but believing on Him justifying the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

¹ Then being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁶ knowing that a man is not justified by works of law, but that it is through faith in Jesus Christ (we also believed in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of law, because all flesh will not be justified by works of law). Psa. 123:2

²¹ Was not our father Abraham justified by works offering up his son Isaac on the altar? Gen. 22:9 ²² You see that faith worked with his works; and out of the works the faith was made perfected. ²³ And the Scripture was fulfilled, saying, "And Abraham believed God, and it was counted for righteousness to him;" and he was called, Friend of God. Gen. 15:6; Isa. 41:8 ²⁴ You see, then, that a man is justified out of works, and not out of faith only. ²⁵ But in the same way Rahab the harlot was also justified out of works, having received the messengers, and sending them out by another way.

⁶ But He gives greater grace. Because of this it says, "God sets Himself against proud ones, but He gives grace to humble ones." Prov. 3:34

¹⁰ Be humbled before the Lord, and He will exalt you.

⁵ Likewise, younger ones be subject to older ones; and all being subject to one another. Put on humility, because God sets Himself "against proud ones, but He gives grace to humble ones." Prov. 3:34 ⁶ Then be humbled under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in time;

²⁴ And when she had weaned him, she brought him up with her, along with three bullocks, and one ephah of flour, and a skin of wine. And she brought him to the house of Jehovah at Shiloh. And the child was a young one.

¹³ Then little children were brought to Him, that He might lay hands on them and might pray. But the disciples rebuked them. ¹⁴ But Jesus said, Allow the little children and do not prevent them to come to Me, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven. ¹⁵ And laying hands on them, He went away from there.

¹³ And they brought children to Him, that He might touch them. But the disciples rebuked those carrying them . ¹⁴ But seeing, Jesus was indignant. And He said to them, Allow the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them. For of such is the kingdom of God. ¹⁵ Truly I say to you, Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a child may in no way enter into it. ¹⁶ And having taken them in His arms, laying hands on them, He blessed them.

⁴⁹ And answering, John said, Master, we saw someone casting out demons on Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow with us. ⁵⁰ And Jesus said to them, Do not forbid, for whoever is not against us is for us.

⁵⁴ And seeing, His disciples James and John said, Lord, do You desire that we tell fire to come down from Heaven, and to destroy them, even as Elijah did? 2 K. 1:10-12

⁴ And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac, a son of eight days, as God had commanded him.

¹⁰ And Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from before Pharaoh. ¹¹ And Joseph caused his father and his brothers to live, and gave them a place in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh commanded. ¹² And Joseph nourished his father and his brothers, and all his father's house with bread for the mouth of the little ones. ¹³ And no bread was in the land, because the famine was exceedingly severe. And the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan were exhausted from the famine. ¹⁴ And Joseph gathered up all the silver found in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan in return for the grain they were buying. And Joseph brought in the silver to the house of Pharaoh.

¹¹ your little ones, your wives, and your alien who is in the midst of your camps, from the woodchopper to the one drawing your water;

¹² Assemble the people, men and women, and the little ones, and your alien who is within your gates, so that they may hear, and so that they may learn, and may fear Jehovah your God, and take heed to do all the words of this law;

¹³ And all Judah was standing before Jehovah, and their infants and their wives and their sons.

³⁹ And I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me all the days, for good to them and to their sons after them.

³ And He said, Truly I say to you, Unless you convert and become as the little children, not at all can you enter into the kingdom of Heaven. ⁴ Then whoever will humble himself as this little child, this one is the greater in the kingdom of Heaven.

³⁹ For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all those afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call.

¹⁴ For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified by the husband; else, then, your children are unclean, but now they are holy.

²⁰ Brothers, do not be children in your minds, but in malice be like infants, and in your minds be mature.

² as newborn babes desire the pure soul-nourishing milk, that you may grow by it;

¹⁴ as children of obedience, not fashioning yourselves to your former lusts in your ignorance,

⁶ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My fear? says Jehovah of hosts to you, O priests who despise My name. But you say, In what have we despised Your name?

¹⁶ And, behold, coming near, one said to Him, Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life? ¹⁷ And He said to him, Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One, God! But if you desire to enter into life, keep the commandments. ¹⁸ He said to Him, Which? And Jesus said, "You shall not commit murder, nor commit adultery, nor steal, nor bear false witness, ¹⁹ honor your father and your mother," and, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." What do I still lack? ²¹ Jesus said to him, If you desire to be perfect, go sell your property and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven; and come, follow Me. ²² But hearing the word, being grieved, the young man went away, for he had many possessions. ²³ And Jesus said to His disciples, Truly I say to you that a rich man will with great difficulty enter into the kingdom of Heaven. ²⁴ And again I say to you, It is easier for a camel to pass through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. ²⁵ And His disciples were exceedingly astonished when they heard this, saying, Who then can be saved? ²⁶ But looking on them, Jesus said to them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. ²⁷ Then answering, Peter said to Him, Behold, we left all things and followed You. What then shall be to us? ²⁸ And Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, You who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of man sits on the throne of His glory, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. ²⁹ And everyone who left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. ³⁰ But many first ones shall be last, and last ones first.

Go, sell what things you have, and give to the poor. And you will have treasure in Heaven. And come, follow Me, taking up the cross. ²² But being sad at the word, he went away grieving; for he had many possessions. ²³ And looking around, Jesus said to His disciples, How hardly those having riches will enter into the kingdom of God! ²⁴ And the disciples were astonished at His words. And answering again, Jesus said to them, Children, how hard it is for those trusting on riches to enter into the kingdom of God! ²⁵ It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of the needle, than for a rich one to enter into the kingdom of God. ²⁶ And they were exceedingly astonished, saying to themselves, And who is able to be saved? ²⁷ But looking at them, Jesus said, From men it is impossible, but not from God. ⁴⁶ And why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say?

²⁵ And behold, a certain lawyer stood up, testing Him and saying, Teacher, What shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? ²⁶ And He said to him, What has been written in the Law? How do you read it ? ²⁷ And answering, he said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength," and with all your mind, and "your neighbor as yourself." Deut. 6:5; Lev. 19:18 ²⁸ And He said to him, You have answered rightly; do this, and you shall live.

¹³ You call Me the Teacher, and, the Lord. And you say well, for I AM. ¹⁴ If then I washed your feet, the Lord and the Teacher, you also ought to wash the feet of one another. ¹⁵ For I gave you an example, that as I did to you, you also should do.

³⁰ And leading them outside, he said, Sirs, what must I do that I may be saved?

⁴ Who gives a clean thing out of an unclean? No one!

¹⁴ What is man that he should be clean? And he born of a woman, that he should be righteous? ¹⁵ Behold, He puts no trust in His holy ones; yea, the heavens are not clean in His eyes. ¹⁶ How much more is filthy man loathed, who drinks iniquity like water!

³⁵ And answering, the angel said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you, and for this reason that Holy One being born of you will be called Son of God.

¹⁶ And confessedly, great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in flesh, was justified in Spirit, was seen by angels, was proclaimed among nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

²⁶ For such a High Priest was fitting for us: holy, harmless, undefiled, and separated from sinners, and having become higher than the heavens;

¹⁷ every act of good giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom is no change or shadow of turning.

¹² Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long on the land which Jehovah your God is giving to you. ¹³ You shall not murder. ¹⁴ You shall not commit adultery. ¹⁵ You shall not steal. ¹⁶ You shall not testify a witness of falsehood against your neighbor. ¹⁷ You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male slave, or his slave-girl, or his ox, or his ass, or anything which belongs to your neighbor.

¹⁶ Honor your father and your mother, as Jehovah your God has commanded you, so that your days may be prolonged, and so that it may be well with you in the land which Jehovah your God is giving to you. ¹⁷ You shall not commit murder. ¹⁸ And you shall not commit adultery. ¹⁹ And you shall not steal. ²⁰ And you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. ²¹ You shall not lust after your neighbor's wife; nor shall you covet your neighbor's house, his field, nor his male slave, nor his female slave, his ox, nor his ass, nor anything which is your neighbor's.

²⁰ To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no dawn to them!

⁷ What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Let it not be! But I did not know sin except through law; for also I did not know lust except the law said, "You shall not lust." Ex. 20:17 ⁸ But sin taking occasion through the commandment worked every lust in me; for apart from law, sin is dead. ⁹ And I was alive apart from law once, but the commandment came, and sin came alive, and I died. ¹⁰ And the commandment which was to life, this was found to be death to me; ¹¹ for sin taking occasion through the commandment deceived me, and through it killed me .

⁹ For, "Do not commit adultery," "do not murder," "do not steal," do not bear false witness, "do not lust," Ex. 20:13-15, 17 and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Lev. 19:18

¹⁰ For as many as are out of works of law, these are under a curse. For it has been written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all the things having been written in the book of the Law, to do them." Deut. 27:26 ¹¹ And that no one is justified by law before God is clear because, "The just shall live by faith." Hab. 2:4 ¹² But the Law is not of faith, but, "The man doing these things shall live in them." Lev. 18:5 ¹³ Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us; for it has been written, "Cursed is everyone having been hung on a tree;" Deut. 21:23

² "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise, Ex. 20:12

²⁰ Children, obey the parents in all things, for this is pleasing to the Lord.

⁸ If you truly fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," you do well. Lev. 19:18 ⁹ But if you have partiality to persons, you work sin, having been found guilty as transgressors by the law. ¹⁰ For whoever shall keep all the law, but stumbles in one, he has become guilty of all. ¹¹ For He who said, "You shall not commit adultery," also said, "You shall not murder." Ex. 20:14, 13; Deut. 5:18, 17 But if you do not commit adultery, but commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.

²⁰ The young man said to Him, All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack? ²¹ Jesus said to him, If you desire to be perfect, go sell your property and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven; and come, follow Me.

¹¹ The Pharisee was standing, praying these things to himself: God, I thank You that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. ¹² I fast twice in the week; I tithe all things, as many as I get.

⁴ One thing I have asked from Jehovah, it I will seek: my dwelling in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, to behold the delight of Jehovah, and to inquire in His temple.

¹⁹ Do not treasure up for you treasures on the earth, where moth and rust cause to vanish, and where thieves dig through and steal. ²⁰ But treasure up for you treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust cause to vanish, and where thieves do not dig through and steal.

²¹ Jesus said to him, If you desire to be perfect, go sell your property and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven; and come, follow Me.

²⁷ Then answering, Peter said to Him, Behold, we left all things and followed You. ⁵⁷ And it happened as they were going in the way, one said to Him, I will follow You everywhere You may go, Lord. ⁵⁸ And Jesus said to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven nests, but the Son of man has nowhere He may lay His head. ⁵⁹ And He said to another, Follow Me. But he said, Lord, allow me to go first to bury my father. ⁶⁰ But Jesus said to him, Leave the dead to bury their dead, but going out, you announce the kingdom of God. ⁶¹ And also another said, I will follow You, Lord, but first allow me to take leave of those in my house. ⁶² But Jesus said to him, No one putting his hand on the plow, and looking at the things behind, is fit for the kingdom of God.

⁴² But there is need of only one; and Mary chose the good part, which shall not be taken from her.

³³ Sell your possessions and give alms. Make for yourselves purses that do not grow old, an unfailing treasure in Heaven, where a thief cannot come near, nor moth can corrupt.

⁹ And I say to you, Make to yourselves friends by the unrighteous mammon, that when it fails they may take you into the eternal dwellings.

⁴⁴ And all the believers were together and had all things common. ⁴⁵ And they sold possessions and goods and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need.

³⁴ For neither was anyone needy among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses, selling them, they bore the value of the things being sold, ³⁵ and laid them at the feet of the apostles. And it was distributed to each according as any had need. ³⁶ And Joses, the one surnamed Barnabas by the apostles, which being translated is, Son of Consolation, a Levite, a Cypriot by race, ³⁷ a field being his, selling it, he bore the proceeds and placed them at the feet of the apostles.

¹³ Brothers, I do not count myself to have laid hold, but one thing I do, forgetting the things behind, and stretching forward to those things before,

¹⁸ to do good, to be rich in good works, to be ready to share, generous, ¹⁹ treasuring up for themselves a good foundation for the coming age, that they may lay hold on everlasting life.

⁸ But let not this one thing be hidden from you, beloved, that one day with the Lord is "as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." Psa. 90:4

²³ And they called to the sons of Dan, and they turned their faces and said to Micah, What ails you, that you have been called together? ²⁴ And he said, You have taken my gods which I made, and the priest, and you are leaving, and what more do I have? What is this you say to me, What ails you?

²⁴ If I have made gold my hope or have called fine gold my trust; ²⁵ if I rejoiced because my wealth was great; or because my hand had gotten much;

²² But hearing the word, being grieved, the young man went away, for he had many possessions.

²² But being sad at the word, he went away grieving; for he had many possessions.

¹⁴ And those falling in the thorns, these are those hearing, but under cares and riches and pleasures of life, having moved along, they are choked, and do not bear to maturity.

¹⁵ And He said to them, Beware, and keep back from covetousness; for one's life is not in the abundance of the things which are his.

⁸ But standing, Zaccheus said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I give to the poor. And if in anything I accused anyone falsely, I restore it fourfold.

³⁴ But take heed to yourselves that your hearts not be loaded down with headaches, and drinking, and anxieties of life, and that day come suddenly upon you

⁵ For be knowing this, that every fornicator, or unclean one, or covetous one, who is an idolater, has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

⁸ But, nay, rather I also count all things to be loss because of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them to be trash, that I might gain Christ

⁵ Then put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication; uncleanness; passion; evil lust; and covetousness, which is idolatry;

¹⁵ Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him,

¹⁰ And it shall be, when Jehovah your God shall bring you into the land which He has sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to you great and good cities, which you have not built, ¹¹ and houses full of every good thing which you have not filled, and wells dug which you did not dig, vineyards and oliveyards which you did not plant; and you shall eat and be satisfied; ¹² and you shall be on guard that you not forget Jehovah who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slaves.

¹¹ Take heed to yourself, lest you forget Jehovah your God so as not to keep His commandments, and His ordinances, and His statutes, which I am commanding you today; ¹² that when you have eaten and are satisfied, and have built goodly houses, and have lived in them; ¹³ and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold have multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied, ¹⁴ then it rises up into your heart, and you forget Jehovah your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slaves; ¹⁵ who led you through the great and dreadful wilderness, with burning serpent, and scorpion, and thirsty ground where no water is; who brought you water out of the flinty rock; ¹⁶ who fed you with manna in the wilderness, which your fathers did not know; that He might humble you and that He might prove you, to do you good at your latter end; ¹⁷ that you not say in your heart, My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.

³ For the wicked boasts of his soul's desire, and he has blessed the covetous; he has despised Jehovah.

⁵ They are not in the misery of mortal man; and with men they are not touched. ⁶ So pride enchains them; violence covers them like a robe. ⁷ Their eyes go out with fatness; they have passed the imaginations of the heart. ⁸ They scoff and speak in malice; from on high they speak cruelty. ⁹ They set their mouth in the heavens; and their tongues walk through the earth. ¹⁰ Because of this His people shall return here; and waters of a full cup shall be drained by them. ¹¹ And they say, How does God know? And, Is there knowledge in the Most High? ¹² Behold! These are the ungodly who are always at ease; they increase their riches.

²⁸ One trusting in his riches, he shall fall; but like a green leaf the righteous shall sprout.

¹¹ The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as a high wall in his imagination.

⁹ that I not become full and deceive, and say, Who is Jehovah? Or that I not become poor and steal, and violate the name of my God.

³¹ O generation, see the word of Jehovah. Have I been a wilderness to Israel, or a land of darkness? Why do My people say, We roam; we will come no more to You.

⁵ I will go up for myself to the great men and will speak to them. For they have known the way of Jehovah, the judgment of their God. Surely these have joined in breaking the yoke; they have torn off the bonds.

²⁶ And becoming deeply grieved, but because of the oaths and those reclining together, the king did not wish to reject her.

²³ And looking around, Jesus said to His disciples, How hardly those having riches will enter into the kingdom of God! ²⁴ And the disciples were astonished at His words. And answering again, Jesus said to them, Children, how hard it is for those trusting on riches to enter into the kingdom of God! ²⁵ It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of the needle, than for a rich one to enter into the kingdom of God. ²⁶ And they were exceedingly astonished, saying to themselves, And who is able to be saved? ²⁷ But looking at them, Jesus said, From men it is impossible, but not from God. ²⁶ For you see your calling, brothers, that there are not many wise according to flesh, nor many powerful, not many wellborn. ²⁷ But God chose the foolish things of the world that the wise might be put to shame, and God chose the weak things of the world so that He might put to shame the strong things.

⁹ Now I rejoice, not that you were grieved, but that you were grieved to repentance. For you were grieved according to God, that you might suffer loss in nothing by us. ¹⁰ For the grief according to God works repentance to salvation, not to be regretted. But the grief of the world works out death.

⁹ But those having purposed to be rich fall into temptation, and a snare, and many foolish and hurtful lusts, which plunge men into destruction and loss. ¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all evils, by means of which some having lusted after it were seduced from the faith, and they themselves pierced through by many pains.

⁵ Hear, my beloved brothers, did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to the ones loving Him? ⁶ But you dishonored the poor one. Do not the rich ones oppress you, and they drag you to judgment seats? ⁷ Do they not blaspheme the good Name called on you?

¹ Come now, rich ones, weep, howling over your hardships coming on. ² Your riches have rotted, and your garments have become moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver have rusted over, and their poison will be a testimony to you, and will eat your flesh as fire. You heaped treasure in the last days. ⁴ Behold, the wages of the workmen who have reaped your fields cry out, being kept back by you. And the cries of the ones who have reaped have entered "into the ears of the Lord of Hosts." Isa. 5:9 ⁵ You lived luxuriously on the earth, and lived in self gratification; you nourished your hearts as in a day of slaughter; ⁶ you condemned; you murdered the righteous; he does not resist you.

²⁴ Blind guides, straining out the gnat, but swallowing the camel!

²³ And one said to Him, Lord, are the ones being saved few? But He said to them,

¹⁴ Is anything too difficult for Jehovah? At the appointed time I will return to you, at the time of life, and there will be a son to Sarah.

² I know that You can do all, and no purpose is withheld from You.

¹⁷ Ah, Lord Jehovah! You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and Your outstretched arm; not any thing is too difficult for You,

³⁵ And all the inhabitants of the earth are counted as nothing. And He does according to His will among the army of Heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth. And no one is able to strike His hand or say to Him, What are You doing?

⁶ So says Jehovah of hosts: If it is marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, will it also be marvelous in My eyes? says Jehovah of hosts.

²⁶ But looking on them, Jesus said to them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

³⁷ for nothing shall be impossible with God.

¹⁹ and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us, the ones believing according to the working of His mighty strength ²⁰ which He worked in Christ in raising Him from the dead; yea, He seated Him at His right hand in the heavenlies, Psa. 110:1

⁴ But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, ⁵ even we being dead in sins, He made us alive together with Christ (by grace you are being saved), ⁶ and raised us up together and seated us together in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus, ⁷ that He might show in the coming ages the exceeding great riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. ⁸ For by grace you are saved, through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; ⁹ not of works, that not anyone should boast; ¹⁰ for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.

¹⁹ And He says to them, Come after Me, and I will make you fishers of men. ²⁰ And leaving the nets, they immediately followed Him. ²¹ And going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and his brother John in the boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. And He called them. ²² And at once leaving the boat and their father, they followed Him.

⁹ And passing from there, Jesus saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, Follow Me. And rising up, he followed Him.

²⁷ Then answering, Peter said to Him, Behold, we left all things and followed You. What then shall be to us?

²⁸ And Peter began to say to Him, Behold, we left all and followed You.

¹¹ And bringing the boats down onto the land, forsaking all things, they followed Him.

⁷ But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss because of Christ.

⁹ who said of his father and his mother, I have not seen him. And he has not acknowledged his brothers, and did not know his own son, for they have kept Your word, and observed Your covenant.

³⁷ He that loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he that loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. ³⁸ And whoever does not take up his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. ³⁹ The one finding his life shall lose it. And the one losing his life on account of Me shall find it.

²⁶ If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers and sisters, and besides, even his own life, he cannot be My disciple. ²⁷ And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me, he cannot be My disciple. ²⁸ For who of you desiring to build a tower does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has the things to finish;

¹⁰ And when he prayed for his friends, Jehovah turned the captivity of Job; and Jehovah added to Job all which had been his, to double.

¹⁶ A little to the righteous is better than the abundance of many wicked.

⁴ So I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. ⁵ My soul shall be satisfied, as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips,

¹⁰ For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand; I have chosen to stand at the threshold in the house of my God rather than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. ¹¹ For Jehovah God is a sun and shield; Jehovah will give grace and glory; He will withhold nothing good from those who walk in integrity. ¹² O Jehovah of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You!

⁷² The law of Your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver.

¹⁰³ How sweet are Your words to my palate! More than honey to my mouth!

¹¹¹ I have inherited Your testimonies forever; for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

¹²⁷ So I have loved Your commands, more than gold, even fine gold.

¹⁶² I rejoice at Your word, as one who finds great spoil.

³² And whoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, not in this age nor in the coming one .

³¹ But seek the kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you. ³² Stop being afraid, little flock, because your Father was pleased to give you the kingdom.

²¹ Therefore what fruit did you have then in the things over which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. ²² But now being set free from sin, and being enslaved to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end everlasting life. ²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁶ But godliness with contentment is great gain.

⁵ Set your way of life without money-loving, being satisfied with present things; for He has said, "Not at all will I leave you, not at all will I forsake you," never! Deut. 31:6 ⁶ So that we may boldly say, " The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What shall man do to me?" LXX-Psa. 117:6; MT-Psa. 118:6

¹⁰ Do not at all fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the Devil is about to throw you into prison, so that you may be tried; and you will have affliction ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

¹⁷ The one who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one overcoming, I will give him to eat from the hidden manna. And I will give to him a white stone, and on the stone a new name having been written, which no one knows except the one receiving it .

²¹ The one overcoming, I will give to him to sit with Me in My throne, as I also overcame and sat with My Father in His throne.

¹ Who has believed our report? And to whom is the arm of Jehovah revealed? ² For He comes up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form nor magnificence that we should see Him; nor form that we should desire Him. ³ He is despised and abandoned of men, a Man of pains, and acquainted with sickness. And as it were hiding our faces from Him, He being despised, and we did not value Him. ⁴ Surely He has borne our sicknesses, and He carried our pain; yet we esteemed Him plagued, smitten by God, and afflicted. ⁵ But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His wounds we ourselves are healed. ⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray; we have each one turned to his own way; and Jehovah made meet in Him the iniquity of all of us. ⁷ He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, but He did not open His mouth. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter; and as a ewe before her shearers is dumb, so He opened not His mouth. ⁸ He was taken from prison and from justice; and who shall consider His generation? ⁷ O sword, awake against My Shepherd, and against the Man who is My companion, says Jehovah of hosts. Strike the Shepherd and the sheep will be scattered. And I will turn My hand against the little ones.

²¹ From that time, Jesus began to show to His disciples that it was necessary for Him to go away to Jerusalem, and to suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised on the third day.

²² And while they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of man is about to be delivered into the hands of men. ²³ And they will kill Him, and on the third day He will be raised. And they grieved exceedingly.

¹⁷ And going up to Jerusalem, Jesus took the twelve disciples aside in the way, and said to them, ¹⁸ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes. And they will condemn Him to death. ¹⁹ And they will deliver Him up to the nations to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.

⁹ And those eating were about four thousand. And He sent them away.

³⁰ And He warned them that they may tell no one about Him. ³¹ And He began to teach them that it is necessary for the Son of man to suffer many things and to be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and after three days to rise again.

³² And they were in the highway, going up to Jerusalem. And Jesus was going before them, and following they were astonished and were afraid. And taking the Twelve again, He began to tell them the things about to happen to Him: ³³ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem. And the Son of man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes. And they will condemn Him to death and will betray Him to the nations. ³⁴ And they will mock Him and will flog Him and will spit at Him, and will kill Him. And on the third day He will rise again.

²² saying, The Son of man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.

⁵¹ And it happened in the fulfilling of the days of His taking up, even He set His face to go to Jerusalem.

⁶ He is not here, but was raised. Remember how He spoke to you, yet being in Galilee, ⁷ saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and the third day to rise again.

⁴⁴ And He said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you yet being with you, that must be fulfilled all the things having been written in the Law of Moses, and the Prophets, and the Psalms, concerning Me. ⁴⁵ Then He opened up their mind to understand the Scriptures, ⁴⁶ and said to them, So it is written, and so the Christ must suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day. ¹ Now gather yourself together, daughter of a troop; one sets a siege against us. They shall strike the Judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek.

⁶⁷ Then they spat in His face, and beat Him with the fist, and some slapped Him,

² And binding Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

²⁸ And stripping Him, they put a scarlet cloak around Him. ²⁹ And plaiting a crown of thorns, they placed it on His head, and a reed in His right hand . ⁶⁵ And some began to spit at Him, and to cover His face, and to beat Him with a fist, and to say to Him, Prophesy! And the under-officers struck Him with slaps.

¹ And immediately in the morning, the chief priests with the elders and scribes and all the sanhedrin forming a council, binding Jesus, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pilate.

¹⁷ And they put purple on Him, and they plaited and placed a crown of thorns on Him. ¹⁸ And they began to salute Him, Hail, king of the Jews! ¹⁹ And they struck His head with a reed, and spat at Him. And placing the knees, they bowed to Him. ²⁰ And when they had mocked Him, they took the purple off Him, and put His own garments on Him. And they led Him out, that they might crucify Him.

⁶³ And the men who were holding Jesus mocked Him, beating Him . ⁶⁴ And blindfolding Him, they were striking His face and questioning Him, saying, Prophesy, who is the one stinging you? ⁶⁵ And blaspheming, many other things they said to Him.

¹ And rising up, all the multitude of them led Him before Pilate.

¹¹ And having humiliated Him with his soldiery, and mocking Him by putting around Him luxurious clothing, Herod sent Him back to Pilate.

³⁵ And the people stood watching. And the rulers with them also scoffed, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if this one is the Christ, the elect of God.

²² But on His having said these things, one of the under-officers standing by gave Jesus a blow with the palm, saying, Do you answer the high priest this way?

²⁸ Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas into the praetorium, and it was early. And they did not enter into the praetorium that they might not be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover.

³⁰ They answered and said to him, If this one were not an evildoer, then we would not have delivered him to you.

³⁵ Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Your nation, even the chief priests, delivered you up to me! What did you do?

¹ Then Pilate took Jesus and flogged Him . ² And having plaited a wreath out of thorns, the soldiers put it on His head. And they threw a purple mantle around Him, ³ and said, Hail, king of the Jews! And they gave Him blows with the palm. ⁴ Then Pilate went outside again and said to them, Behold, I bring Him out to you that you may know that I do not find even one crime in Him! ⁵ Then Jesus came outside, wearing the thorny wreath and the purple mantle. And he said to them, Behold, the Man!

²³ this One given to you by the before-determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you having taken by lawless hands, having crucified Him, you put Him to death.

¹³ The "God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob," "the God of our fathers," Ex. 3:15 glorified His child Jesus, whom you delivered up, and denied Him in the presence of Pilate, that one having decided to set Him free.

⁶³ saying, Sir, we have recalled that that deceiver while living said, After three days I will rise.

⁷ saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and the third day to rise again.

²¹ But we were hoping that He is the One going to redeem Israel. But then with all these things, this third day comes today since these things happened.

³ For I delivered to you in the first place what I also received, that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, ⁴ and that He was buried, and that He was raised the third day, according to the Scriptures,

³² But they did not know the word, and feared to question Him.

⁵⁰ And they did not understand the word which He spoke to them.

⁴⁵ But they did not understand this saying, and it was veiled from them so that they might not perceive it. And they feared to ask Him about this word.

²⁵ And He said to them, O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe on all things which the prophets spoke!

⁶ Jesus spoke this allegory to them, but they did not know what it was which He spoke to them.

¹⁶ But His disciples did not know these things at the first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they recalled that these things had been written on Him, and that they did these things to Him.

¹ I have spoken these things to you so that you may not be offended. ² They will put you out of the synagogue, but an hour is coming that everyone killing you will think to bear a service before God. ³ And they will do these things to you because they do not know the Father nor Me. ⁴ But I have spoken these things to you so that when the hour comes you may recall them, that I told you these things. For this reason I said that He receives from Mine, and will announce to you. ¹⁶ A little while and you do not see Me. ⁸ He raised the poor from the dust; He lifts up the needy from the dunghill, to cause them to sit with nobles; yea, He caused them to inherit a throne of honor; for to Jehovah are the pillars of the earth; and He sets the habitable world on them.

²⁹ And as they were going out from Jericho, a great crowd followed Him. ³⁰ And, behold, two blind ones sitting beside the way, hearing that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, saying, Have pity on us, Lord, Son of David! ³¹ But the crowd rebuked them, that they be quiet. But they cried out the more, saying, Have pity on us, Lord, Son of David! ³² And stopping, Jesus called them, and said, What do you desire that I do to you? ³³ They said to Him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. ³⁴ And moved with pity, Jesus touched their eyes. And instantly their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.

⁴⁶ And they came to Jericho. And He and His disciples and a large crowd going out from Jericho, a son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus the blind, sat beside the highway begging. ⁴⁷ And hearing that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and to say, Son of David, Jesus, have mercy on me! ⁴⁸ And many warned him that he be quiet. But he much more cried out, Son of David, have mercy on me! ⁴⁹ And standing still, Jesus said for him to be called. And they called the blind one, saying to him, Be comforted, rise up, He calls you. ⁵⁰ And throwing away his garment, rising up, he came to Jesus. ⁵¹ And answering, Jesus said to him, What do you desire I should do to you? And the blind one said to Him, My Lord, that I may see again. ⁵² And Jesus said to him, Go, your faith has healed you. And instantly he saw again, and followed Jesus in the highway.

²⁰ And there was a certain poor one named Lazarus who had been laid at his porch, being plagued by sores, ²¹ and longing to be filled from the crumbs that were falling from the table of the rich one. But coming, even the dogs licked his sores.

⁸ Then the neighbors and those who formerly saw him, that he was blind, said, Is this one not the one who had sat and begged?

² And a certain man, being lame from his mother's womb, was being carried, whom day by day they put at the door of the temple, being called Beautiful, to ask alms from those going into the temple;

¹⁰ And as He entered into Jerusalem, all the city was shaken, saying, Who is this? ¹¹ And the crowds said, This is Jesus, the Prophet, the one from Nazareth of Galilee.

²⁶ And having called one of the children, he inquired what this may be.

²³ And coming, he lived in a city called Nazareth, so as to fulfill that spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene. No OT passage

¹ And again He entered into Capernaum after some days. And it was heard that He was in a house. ² And at once many were gathered, so as none any longer had room, not even to the door. And He spoke the Word to them. ³ And they came to Him carrying a paralytic, being borne by four.

⁵¹ And He went with them and came to Nazareth and was being subject to them. And His mother carefully kept all these words in her heart.

⁴⁵ Philip finds Nathanael and said to him, We have found the One of whom Moses wrote in the Law and the Prophets, Jesus the son of Joseph, from Nazareth.

³⁵ Then Jesus said to them, Yet a little while the Light is with you. Walk while you have the Light, that darkness not overtake you. And the one walking in the darkness does not know where he is going. ³⁶ While you have the Light, believe into the Light, that you may become sons of Light. Jesus spoke these things, and going away He was hidden from them.

¹⁹ And Pilate also wrote a title and put it on the cross. And having been written, it was: JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

²² Men, Israelites, hear these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man from God, having been approved among you by powerful deeds and wonders and miracles, which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know,

¹⁰ let it be known to all of you, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazaraean, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in this name this one stands before you whole.

² For He says, "In an acceptable time I heard you, and in a day of salvation I helped you." Behold, now is the acceptable time! Behold, now is the day of salvation! Isa. 49:8

¹² Also mercy belongs to You, O Lord, for You reward a man according to his work.

⁶ For a Child is born; to us a Son is given; and the government is on His shoulder; and His name is called Wonderful, Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. ⁷ There is no end to the increase of His government and of peace on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it, and to sustain it with justice and with righteousness, from now and forever. The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts will do this.

¹ And a Shoot goes out from the stump of Jesse, and a Branch will bear fruit out of his roots.

⁵ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and act wisely, and shall do justice and righteousness in the earth.

²⁷ And Jesus passing on from there, two blind ones followed Him, crying and saying, Have pity on us, Son of David.

²³ And all the crowds were amazed, and said, Is this not the son of David?

²² And, behold, a woman of Canaan coming forth from those borders cried out to Him, saying, Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is vilely demon-possessed.

⁹ And the crowd, the ones going before and the ones following, were crying out, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David! "Blessed is He coming in the name of the Lord"! Hosanna in the highest! Psa. 118:25, 26

¹⁵ But the chief priests and the scribes, seeing the wonders which He did, and the children crying out in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David, they were incensed.

⁴² saying, What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is He? They say to Him, David's. ⁴³ He said to them, Then how does David in Spirit call Him Lord, saying, ⁴⁴ "The Lord said to my Lord, Sit on My right until I place Your enemies as a footstool for Your feet?" LXX-Psa. 109:1; MT-Psa. 110:1 ⁴⁵ Then if David calls Him Lord, how is He his son?

³ concerning His Son who came of the seed of David according to flesh,

¹⁶ I, Jesus, sent My angel to testify these things to you over the churches. I am the Root and Offspring of David, the bright and morning Star.

²⁶ And He said, Send me away, for the dawn has ascended. And he said, I will not let you go unless You bless me. ²⁷ And He said to him, What is your name? And he said, Jacob. ²⁸ And He said, Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, because you have wrestled with God and with men, and have prevailed.

¹ A Psalm of David. O Jehovah, I cry to You; hasten to me; hear my voice when I cry to You.

¹² Then you shall call on Me, and you shall go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. ¹³ And you shall seek and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

⁷ Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

⁴⁰ And He came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And He said to Peter, So! Were you not able to watch one hour with Me? ⁴¹ Watch and pray, that you do not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. ⁴² Again, going away a second time, He prayed, saying, My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me without My drinking it, let Your will be done. ⁴³ And coming, He again found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. ⁴⁴ And leaving them, going away again, He prayed a third time, saying the same word.

⁴⁹ As He was yet speaking, someone came from the synagogue ruler, saying to him, Your daughter has expired. Do not trouble the Teacher.

⁸ I say to you, even if rising up he will not give to him because he is a friend, yet because of his shameless insisting, rising up he will give him as many as he needs. ⁹ And I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. ¹⁰ For everyone asking receives, and the one seeking finds, and to the one knocking, it will be opened.

⁵² Woe to you, lawyers! Because you took the key of knowledge; you yourselves did not enter, and you kept out the ones entering.

¹ And He also spoke a parable to them to teach it is always right to pray, and not to faint,

¹⁵ And they brought infants to Him also, that He might touch them. But seeing, the disciples rebuked them.

³⁸ And he cried out, saying, Jesus, son of David, pity me!

³⁹ And some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to Him, Teacher, rebuke your disciples.

⁸ Beyond this I entreated the Lord three times, that it depart from me.

⁵ Jehovah appeared to Solomon in Gibeon in a dream of the night. And God said, Ask. What shall I give to you? ⁶ And Solomon said, You have shown great kindness to Your servant, my father David, as he walked before You in truth and in righteousness and in uprightness of heart with You. And You have kept for him this great kindness, and have given to him a son sitting on his throne, as today. ⁷ And now, O Jehovah my God, You have caused Your servant to reign instead of my father David. And I am a little man-child; I do not know to go out and to come in. ⁸ And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a numerous people that cannot be numbered or counted for multitude. ⁹ Also give to Your servant an understanding heart, to judge Your people to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this, Your great people? ¹⁰ And the word was good in the eyes of the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. ¹¹ And God said to him, Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked for yourself many days, nor asked riches for yourself, nor asked the life of your enemies, and have asked for discernment for yourself, to understand judgment, ¹² behold, I have done according to your words. Behold, I have given to you a wise and understanding heart, so that there was none like you before you, and after you none shall rise up like you. ¹³ And also, I have given you that which you have not asked, both riches and honor, that there shall not be a man like you among the kings all your days. ¹⁴ And if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commands, as your father David walked, then I will prolong your days. ¹⁵ And Solomon awoke, and behold, it was a dream! And he came into Jerusalem and stood before the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and offered burnt offerings, and made peace offerings. And he made a banquet for all his servants.

²¹ And He said to her, What do you desire? She said to Him, Say that these two sons of mine may sit one on Your right, and one on Your left in Your Kingdom. ²² But answering, Jesus said, You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup which I am about to drink, and to be baptized with the baptism with which I am to be baptized? They said to Him, We are able.

²⁵ But if we hope for what we do not see, through patience we wait eagerly.

⁹ For He spoke, and it came into being; He commanded, and it stood fast.

²⁰ He sent His word and healed them; and delivered them from all their pitfalls.

³ And stretching out His hand, Jesus touched him, saying, I will! Be cleansed! And instantly his leprosy was cleansed.

²² But turning and seeing her, Jesus said, Be comforted, daughter; your faith has healed you. And the woman was healed from that hour.

²⁸ Then answering, Jesus said to her, O woman, your faith is great; let it be to you as you desire. And her daughter was healed from that hour.

⁵⁰ But He said to the woman, Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.

⁴⁸ And He said to her, Daughter, be comforted. Your faith has healed you. Go in peace.

¹⁹ And He said to him, Rising up, go! Your faith has cured you.

² O Jehovah my God, I cried to You, and You have healed me.

¹ Of David. Bless Jehovah, O my soul; and all within me, bless His holy name. ² Bless Jehovah, O my soul, and forget not all His rewards; ³ who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases;

¹⁶ And I will lead the blind by a way they knew not; I will lead them in paths they never knew; I will make darkness into light before them, and crooked places a level place. I do these things to them and do not forsake them;

⁷ everyone who is called by My name, and I have created him for My glory; I have formed him; yea, I have made him. ⁸ Bring out the blind people, yet there are eyes; and the deaf, yet there are ears to him.

²¹ The people that I formed for Myself shall declare My praise.

⁸ And seeing, the crowds marveled, and they glorified God who gave such authority to men.

²⁸ And coming into the house, the blind ones came near to Him. And Jesus said to them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? And they said to Him, Yes, Lord. ²⁹ Then He touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith let it be to you. ³⁰ And their eyes were opened. And Jesus strictly ordered them, saying, See, let no one know.

⁵ The blind receive sight, and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear; the dead are raised, and the poor are given the gospel. Isa. 61:1

¹⁴ And blind and lame ones came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.

³⁹ And standing over her, He rebuked the fever; and it left her. And rising up instantly, she served them.

²⁶ And amazement seized all, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We saw wonderful things today.

¹⁷ And on His saying these things, all who were opposed to Him were ashamed. And all the crowd rejoiced over all the glorious things taking place by Him.

¹⁵ And one of them, seeing that he was cured, returned glorifying God with a loud voice. ¹⁶ And he fell on his face at His feet, thanking Him. And he was a Samaritan. ¹⁷ And answering, Jesus said, Were not the ten cleansed? But where are the nine? ¹⁸ Were not any found returning to give glory to God except this foreigner?

³⁷ And as He was already drawing near to the descent of the Mount of Olives, all the multitude of the disciples began rejoicing, to praise God with a loud voice concerning all the works of power which they saw,

⁵ While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world. ⁶ Saying these things, He spat on the ground and made clay out of the spittle, and anointed clay on the blind one's eyes. ⁷ And He said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, which translated is Sent. Then he went and washed, and came seeing.

³⁹ And Jesus said, I came into this world for judgment, that the ones who do not see may see, and they who see may become blind. ⁴⁰ And those of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things, and said to Him, Are we also blind?

²¹ But having threatened them again, they released them, finding nothing as to how they might punish them, on account of the people, because all glorified God on the thing happening.

¹⁸ And hearing these things, they kept silent and glorified God, saying, Then God also has granted to the nations repentance unto life.

¹⁸ to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, in order that they may receive remission of sins, and an inheritance among those being sanctified by faith in Me.

²⁴ and they glorified God in me.

¹⁰ when He comes to be glorified in His saints, and to be admired in all those who believe in that Day, because our testimony to you was believed. ¹¹ For which we also continually pray concerning you, that our God would count you worthy of the calling, and would fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness, and work of faith in power, ¹² so that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and of the Lord Jesus Christ.

⁹ But you are "an elect race," "a royal priesthood," "a holy nation," "a people for possession," so that "you may openly speak of the virtues" of the One who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; LXX-Ex. 23:22; MT-Ex. 19:5, 6
