¹ And He also said to His disciples, A certain man was rich; and he had a steward, and this one was accused to him as wasting his goods. ² And calling him, he said to him, What is this I hear about you? Give the account of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward. ³ And the steward said within himself, What shall I do, for my Lord is taking away the stewardship from me? I am not able to dig, and I am ashamed to beg. ⁴ I know what I will do, that when I am removed from the stewardship, they will receive me into their houses. ⁵ And calling to him each one of the debtors of his lord, he said to the first, How much do you owe my lord? ⁶ And he said, A hundred baths of oil. And he said to him, Take your statements and sitting quickly write fifty. ⁷ Then he said to another, And you, how much do you owe? And he said, a hundred cors of wheat. And he said to him, Take your statement and write eighty. ⁸ And the lord praised the unrighteous steward, because he acted prudently. For the sons of this age are more prudent than the sons of light themselves are in their generation. ⁹ And I say to you, Make to yourselves friends by the unrighteous mammon, that when it fails they may take you into the eternal dwellings. ¹⁰ He faithful in the least is also faithful in much. And he unrighteous in the least is also unrighteous in much. ¹¹ Then if you were not faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will entrust the true to you? ¹² And if you were not faithful in that of another, who will give to you that which is yours? ¹³ No servant is able to serve two lords; for either he will hate the one, and he will love the other; or he will cling to one, and he will despise the other. You are unable to serve God and mammon. ¹⁴ And being lovers of money, the Pharisees also heard all these things; and they derided Him. ¹⁵ And He said to them, You are those justifying yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts; for the thing highly prized among men is a hateful thing before God. ¹⁶ The Law and the Prophets were until John; from then the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is pressing into it. ¹⁷ But it is easier for the heaven and the earth to pass away than one tittle of the law to fail. ¹⁸ Everyone putting away his wife, and marrying another, commits adultery. And everyone marrying her who has been put away from a husband commits adultery. ¹⁹ And there was a certain rich man; and he was accustomed to don a purple robe and fine linen, making merry in luxury day by day. ²⁰ And there was a certain poor one named Lazarus who had been laid at his porch, being plagued by sores, ²¹ and longing to be filled from the crumbs that were falling from the table of the rich one. But coming, even the dogs licked his sores. ²² And it happened, the poor one died and was carried away by the angels into the bosom of Abraham. And the rich one also died and was buried. ²³ And being in torments in Hell, lifting up his eyes, he sees Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosoms. ²⁴ And calling he said, Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am suffering in this flame. ²⁵ But Abraham said, Child, remember that you fully received your good things in your lifetime, and Lazarus likewise the bad things. But now he is comforted, and you are suffering. ²⁶ And besides all these things, a great chasm has been fixed between us and you, so that those desiring to pass from here to you are not able, nor can they pass from there to us. ²⁷ And he said, Then I beg you, father, that you send him to my father's house; ²⁸ (for I have five brothers, so that he may witness to them, that they not also come to this place of torment). ²⁹ Abraham said to him, They have Moses and the Prophets, let them hear them. ³⁰ But he said, No, father Abraham, but if one should go from the dead to them, they will repent. ³¹ And he said to him, If they will not hear Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if one from the dead should rise.

² And Abram said, Lord Jehovah, what will You give to me since I am going childless and the son of the inheritance of my house is Eleazar of Damascus?

¹⁹ And they came near to the man who was over Joseph's house and spoke to him at the door of the house.

¹ And David assembled all the chiefs of Israel; the chiefs of the tribes and chiefs of the divisions who were serving the king, and commanders of the thousands, and commanders of the hundreds, and heads of all property and possessions of the king, and of his sons, with the eunuchs and the mighty ones, even to every mighty one of valor, to Jerusalem.

⁹ And he who is slack in his work, he is a brother to a master destroyer.

⁸ For she did not know that I gave her grain and wine and oil, and I multiplied her silver and the gold they prepared for Baal.

²³ For this reason the kingdom of Heaven has been compared to a man, a king, who decided to take account with his slaves. ²⁴ And when he began to reckon, one debtor of ten thousand talents was brought near to him.

¹⁴ For it is as if a man going abroad called his own slaves and delivered his goods to them. ¹⁵ And to one indeed he gave five talents, and to another, two, and to another, one, to each according to his ability. And he went abroad at once. ¹⁶ And going, the one who received the five talents worked with them and made another five talents. ¹⁷ In the same way, the one with the two also did; he also gained another two. ¹⁸ But going away, the one who received the one dug in the earth and hid his lord's silver. ¹⁹ And after much time, the lord of those slaves came and took account with them. ²⁰ And coming up, the one who received five talents brought another five talents near, saying, Lord, you delivered five talents to me. Behold, I gained another five talents above them. ²¹ And his lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful over a few things; I will set you over many. Enter into the joy of your lord. ²² And the one who received two talents also coming up, he said, Lord, you delivered two talents to me. Behold, I have gained two other talents above them. ²³ His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful over a few things, I will set you over many. Enter into the joy of your lord. ²⁴ And the one who received the one talent also coming up, he said, Lord, I knew you, that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter; ²⁵ and being afraid, going away, I hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have yours. ²⁶ And answering, his lord said to him, Evil and slothful slave! You knew that I reap where I did not sow, and gather where I did not I scatter. ²⁷ Then you ought to have put my silver to the bankers, and coming I would have received my own with interest. ²⁸ Therefore, take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. ²⁹ For to each who has, more will be given, and he will abound. But from him who does not have, even that which he has will be taken from him. ³⁰ And throw the worthless slave out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of the teeth.

³ and Joanna, wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, who were ministering to Him of their possessions.

⁴² And the Lord said, Who then is the faithful and wise steward whom the lord will set over his house servants, to give the portion of food in season?

¹³ And not many days after, gathering up all things, the younger son went away to a distant country. And there he wasted his property, living dissolutely.

³⁰ But when this son of yours came, the one devouring your living with harlots, you killed the fattened calf for him.

¹⁹ And there was a certain rich man; and he was accustomed to don a purple robe and fine linen, making merry in luxury day by day.

²⁰ And another came, saying, Lord, behold your mina which I had kept in a handkerchief.

¹ Let a man think of us as ministers of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. ² And the rest, it is sought among stewards that one be found faithful.

⁷ (for the overseer must be blameless as a steward of God), not self-pleasing, not prone to anger, not given to wine, not a quarreler, not greedy of ill gain;

³ You ask, and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, in order that you may spend on your lusts.

¹⁰ each one as he received a gift, ministering it to yourselves as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

⁹ And Jehovah God called to the man and said to him, Where are you? ¹⁰ And he said, I have heard Your sound in the garden, and I was afraid, for I am naked, and I hid myself. ¹¹ And He said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?

⁹ And Jehovah said to Cain, Where is your brother Abel? And he said, I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper? ¹⁰ And He said, What have you done? The voice of the blood of your brother cries to Me from the ground.

²⁰ And Jehovah said, The cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and their sin is exceedingly heavy. ²¹ I will go down and see if they have at all done according to the cry coming to Me. And if not, I will know.

²³ And he said to them, Why do you do things like these? For I am hearing of your evil doings from all these people. ²⁴ No my sons, for the report which I am hearing is not good, causing the people of Jehovah to transgress.

⁹ Rejoice, O young man, in your youth. And make your heart glad in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment. ¹⁰ So then remove vexation from your heart, and put away evil from your flesh. For childhood and prime of life are vanity.

¹⁴ For God shall bring every work into judgment, with all that is hidden, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.

³⁶ But I say to you, that every idle word, whatever men may speak, they shall give an account of it in Judgment Day.

²⁰ But God said to him, Fool! This night they demand your soul from you; and that which you prepared, to whom will it be?

²¹ For I feared you, because you are an exacting man, taking what you did not lay down, and reaping what you did not sow. ²² But he said to him, I will judge you out of your own mouth, wicked slave. You knew that I am an exacting man, taking what I did not lay down, and reaping what I did not sow. ²³ And why did you not give my silver on the bank table? And coming, I might have exacted it with interest. ²⁴ And to those standing by, he said, Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas. ²⁵ And they said to him, Lord, he has ten minas. ²⁶ For I say to you, To everyone who has, it will be given. And from the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.

¹² So then each one of us will give account concerning himself to God.

¹¹ For concerning you, my brothers, it was shown to me by those of Chloe that there are strifes among you.

² And the rest, it is sought among stewards that one be found faithful.

⁵ Then do not judge anything before time, until the Lord comes, who will both shed light on the hidden things of darkness and will reveal the counsels of the hearts. And then praise will be to each one from God.

¹⁰ For we all must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive the things done through the body, according to what he did, whether good or bad.

¹⁴ Do not be neglectful of the gift in you, which was given to you through prophecy, with laying on of the hands of the elderhood.

²⁴ The sins of some men are plain before, going before to judgment, but indeed some follow after.

⁵ who will give account to Him having readiness to judge the living and dead.

¹² And I saw the dead, the small and the great, standing before God. And books were opened. And another Book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged out of the things written in the books, according to their works.

⁶ And Haman came in. And the king said to him, What shall be done to the man whom the king delights to honor? And Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honor more than to myself?

⁴ The sluggard's soul is craving, but is not getting, but the soul of the hard workers shall be made fat.

¹⁹ The way of the lazy one is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the righteous is exalted.

¹⁵ Laziness makes one fall into a deep sleep, and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

⁴ The lazy man will not plow, after autumn he begs at harvest, and nothing is there.

²⁵ The lust of the lazy man kills him, for his hands have refused to work. ²⁶ He lusts with lust all the day long, but the righteous gives and does not withhold.

³⁰ I went over the field of the lazy man, and by the vineyard of the man lacking heart, ³¹ and, lo, it was all risen up with thistles, nettles had covered its surface, and its stone wall was broken down. ³² Then I saw, I set my heart on it; I looked, I received instruction: ³³ A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to lie down, ³⁴ so shall your poverty come stalking, and your want like a man with a shield.

¹³ The lazy one says, A lion is in the way, a lion is between the streets! ¹⁴ As the door turns on its hinge, so the lazy one on his bed. ¹⁵ The lazy one buries his hand in the dish, he is weary to bring it back to his mouth. ¹⁶ The lazy one is wiser in his own eyes than seven that return a wise answer.

²³ Know well the face of your flock; set your heart on your herds, ²⁴ for wealth is not forever, nor the crown from generation to generation. ²⁵ When the hay is removed, and the tender grass is seen, and the mountain plants are taken up, ²⁶ The lambs will be for your clothing, and the he goats the price for a field, ²⁷ and there will be goat's milk enough for your food, for the food of your household, and for the life of your maidens.

²¹ He pampering his servant from youth, even afterwards in his days he shall be his successor.

³ And what will you do in the day of visitation and of destruction? It comes from far away. To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your glory?

³¹ The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their hands; and My people love it so. And what will you do at the end of it?

⁵ What will you do in the day of meeting, and in the day of the feast of Jehovah?

⁴⁶ And they came to Jericho. And He and His disciples and a large crowd going out from Jericho, a son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus the blind, sat beside the highway begging.

¹⁷ And he reasoned within himself, saying, What may I do, for I have nowhere I may gather my fruits?

²⁰ And there was a certain poor one named Lazarus who had been laid at his porch, being plagued by sores,

²² And it happened, the poor one died and was carried away by the angels into the bosom of Abraham. And the rich one also died and was buried.

⁴ And for a time he would not. But after these things he said to himself, Even if I do not fear God, and do not respect man,

⁸ Then the neighbors and those who formerly saw him, that he was blind, said, Is this one not the one who had sat and begged?

² And a certain man, being lame from his mother's womb, was being carried, whom day by day they put at the door of the temple, being called Beautiful, to ask alms from those going into the temple;

⁶ Both trembling and being astonished he said, Lord, what do you desire me to do? And the Lord said to him, Rise up and go into the city, and it will be told you what you must do.

¹¹ For we hear some are walking in a disorderly way among you, not working at all, but being busybodies.

⁹ that I not become full and deceive, and say, Who is Jehovah? Or that I not become poor and steal, and violate the name of my God.

²² For My people are foolish. They do not know Me. They are stupid children, and they have no understanding. They are wise to do evil, but they do not know to do good.

¹⁵ This is not the wisdom coming down from above, but is earthly, beastly, devilish.

²⁴ And when he began to reckon, one debtor of ten thousand talents was brought near to him.

⁴¹ There were two debtors to a certain creditor: the one owed five hundred denarii and the other fifty. ⁴² But they not having a thing to pay, he freely forgave both. Then which of them do you say will love him most?

⁹ And I say to you, Make to yourselves friends by the unrighteous mammon, that when it fails they may take you into the eternal dwellings.

¹² And if you were not faithful in that of another, who will give to you that which is yours?

¹⁰ not stealing, but showing all good faith, that they may adorn the doctrine of our Savior God in all things.

¹¹ Solomon had a vineyard in Baal-hamon. He let the vineyard out to keepers; for its fruit everyone was to bring a thousand of silver. ¹² My vineyard which is mine is before me; the thousand is for you, O Solomon, and two hundred for the keepers of its fruit.

⁹ And He began to speak this parable to the people: A certain man planted a vineyard and let it out to vinedressers. And he left the country for long periods of time . Isa. 5:1, 2

¹² And he again sent a third. But they also threw this one out, wounding him .

¹ And the serpent was cunning above every animal of the field which Jehovah God had made. And he said to the woman, Is it true that God has said, You shall not eat from any tree of the garden?

¹⁰ Come, let us deal craftily towards them, lest they multiply and it shall be that when war occurs they will also add to our enemies, and will fight against us and go up from the land.

³ And Amnon had a friend, and his name was Jonadab the son of Shimeah, David's brother. And Jonadab was a very shrewd man.

¹⁹ And now call to me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests. Do not let a man be lacking, for I shall have a great sacrifice to Baal. Anyone who is lacking, he shall not live. And Jehu was acting with cunning in order to destroy the servants of Baal.

¹⁴ from men, by Your hand, O Jehovah, from men of the world whose portion is in this life, and their belly You fill with Your treasure; they are satisfied with sons, and will leave their riches to their babes.

¹⁰ For he sees wise men die; together the fool and the animal-like ones perish and leave their riches to others. ¹¹ Their inward thought is that their houses shall last forever, their dwelling-places to all generations; they call lands after their own names. ¹² But man shall not remain high in honor; he is like the animals; they shall be cut off. ¹³ This way of theirs is folly to them, yet their followers shall be pleased by their mouth. Selah. ¹⁴ Like sheep, they are appointed to Sheol; death shall reign for them; and upright ones shall rule over them in the morning; and their form is for rotting; Sheol is home for him. ¹⁵ But God will redeem my soul from the hand of Sheol; for He will take me. Selah. ¹⁶ Do not be afraid when one becomes rich, when the glory of his house increases; ¹⁷ for when he dies, he shall take nothing; his glory shall not go down after him. ¹⁸ For in his life he blessed his soul; yea, men praise you when you do well for yourself. ¹⁹ He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall not see light forever.

⁶ Go to the ant, lazy man; consider her ways and be wise; ⁷ who, having no guide, overseer or ruler, ⁸ provides her bread in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.

²⁶ Peter said to Him, From strangers. Jesus said to him, Then truly the sons are free.

⁴ I know what I will do, that when I am removed from the stewardship, they will receive me into their houses.

¹⁰ He faithful in the least is also faithful in much. And he unrighteous in the least is also unrighteous in much.

⁶ And the Lord said, Hear what the unrighteous judge says;

³⁴ And answering, Jesus said to them, The sons of this world marry and are given in marriage.

³⁶ While you have the Light, believe into the Light, that you may become sons of Light. Jesus spoke these things, and going away He was hidden from them.

¹⁸ Let no one deceive himself, if anyone thinks to be wise among you in this age, let him become foolish, that he may become wise.

⁸ for you then were darkness, but now light in the Lord; walk as children of light.

¹⁹ whose end is destruction, whose god is the belly, and who glory in their shame, those who mind earthly things.

⁵ You are all sons of light and sons of day; we are not of night, nor of darkness.

⁹ But you are "an elect race," "a royal priesthood," "a holy nation," "a people for possession," so that "you may openly speak of the virtues" of the One who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; LXX-Ex. 23:22; MT-Ex. 19:5, 6

¹⁰ By this the children of God and the children of the Devil are revealed: Everyone not practicing righteousness is not of God; also the one not loving his brother.

²⁶ My flesh and my heart waste away; God is the rock of my heart and my portion forever.

¹⁷ He who has pity on the poor lends to Jehovah, and He will reward his dealing to him.

⁵ Will your eyes fly on it? And it is not! For surely it makes wings for itself, it flies into the heavens like an eagle.

¹ Send out your bread on the face of the waters, for you shall find it in many days.

³ in the day when the housekeepers shall tremble, and the strong men are bowed, and the grinders cease because they are few; and those looking out the windows are darkened; ⁴ and the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the mill is low, and one rises up at the voice of a bird, and all the daughters of music are silenced; ⁵ also they shall be afraid of a high place, and terrors in the way; and the almond tree shall blossom, and the locust makes himself a burden; and desire breaks, because man goes to his eternal home, and the mourners go about in the street; ⁶ While the silver cord is not yet loosed, or the golden bowl is crushed, or the pitcher is shattered at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern; ⁷ then the dust shall return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall return to God who gave it.

¹⁶ For I will not contend forever, nor will I always be angry, for the spirit would faint before Me, even the breaths I have made.

⁷ Is it not to break your bread to the hungry, that you should bring the wandering poor home? When will you see the naked and cover him; and you will not hide yourself from your flesh? ⁸ Then your light shall break as the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly; and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of Jehovah shall gather you.

²⁷ So, O king, let my advice be pleasing to you: Even break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by pitying the poor, whether there will be duration to your prosperity.

¹⁹ Do not treasure up for you treasures on the earth, where moth and rust cause to vanish, and where thieves dig through and steal.

²⁴ No one is able to serve two lords; for either he will hate the one, and he will love the other; or he will cleave to the one, and he will despise the other. You are not able to serve God and wealth.

²¹ Jesus said to him, If you desire to be perfect, go sell your property and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven; and come, follow Me.

³⁵ For I hungered, and you gave Me food to eat; I thirsted, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you took Me in; ³⁶ naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. ³⁷ Then the righteous will answer, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry, and fed You; or thirsting, and gave You drink? ³⁸ And when did we see You a stranger, and took You in; or naked, and clothed You ? ³⁹ And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and came to You? ⁴⁰ And answering, the King will say to them, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of these, the least of My brothers, you did it to Me.

⁴¹ But give alms of the things which are within, and behold, all things are clean to you.

³³ Sell your possessions and give alms. Make for yourselves purses that do not grow old, an unfailing treasure in Heaven, where a thief cannot come near, nor moth can corrupt.

¹⁴ and then you will be blessed, for they have nothing to repay you. For it will be repaid to you in the resurrection of the just.

¹¹ Then if you were not faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will entrust the true to you?

¹³ No servant is able to serve two lords; for either he will hate the one, and he will love the other; or he will cling to one, and he will despise the other. You are unable to serve God and mammon.

⁴ And he was staring at him, and becoming terrified he said, What is it, Sir? And he said to him, Your prayers and your alms went up for a memorial before God.

³¹ And he said, Cornelius, your prayer was heard and your alms were remembered before God.

¹⁷ For the lightness of our present affliction works out for us an eternal weight of glory, surpassing moment by surpassing moment;

¹² Because the ministry of this service is not only making up the things lacking of the saints, but also multiplying through many thanksgivings to God, ¹³ through the proof of this service, they glorifying God by your freely expressed submission to the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of the fellowship toward them and toward all; ¹⁴ and in their prayer for you, a longing after you, because of the overflowing grace of God on you. ¹⁵ But thanks be to God for His unspeakable free gift.

⁹ But those having purposed to be rich fall into temptation, and a snare, and many foolish and hurtful lusts, which plunge men into destruction and loss. ¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all evils, by means of which some having lusted after it were seduced from the faith, and they themselves pierced through by many pains.

¹⁷ Charge the rich in the present age not to be high-minded, nor to set hope on the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, He offering to us richly all things for enjoyment; ¹⁸ to do good, to be rich in good works, to be ready to share, generous, ¹⁹ treasuring up for themselves a good foundation for the coming age, that they may lay hold on everlasting life.

¹⁶ May the Lord give mercy to the house of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me, and he was not ashamed of my chain, ¹⁷ but having come to Rome, he more diligently sought and found me . ¹⁸ May the Lord give to him to find mercy from the Lord in that Day. And what things he served in Ephesus, you know very well.

²¹ keep yourselves in the love of God, eagerly awaiting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to everlasting life.

²¹ And his lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful over a few things; I will set you over many. Enter into the joy of your lord.

⁶ But he said this, not that he was caring for the poor, but that he was a thief and held the moneybag and carried away the things being put in .

² And supper having occurred, the Devil having put already into the heart of Simon's son Judas Iscariot that he should betray Him,

²⁷ And after the morsel, then Satan entered into that one. Then Jesus said to him, What you do, do quickly.

² "being faithful" to Him who appointed Him, as also "Moses" "in all his house." Num. 12:7

¹⁸ Riches and honor are with me; enduring wealth and righteousness. ¹⁹ My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my increase is better than the best silver.

²² And hearing these things, Jesus said to him, Yet one thing is lacking to you: sell all, as much as you have, and give to the poor; and you will have treasure in Heaven. And come, follow Me.

⁸ This grace was given to me, less than the least of all the saints, to proclaim the gospel of the unsearchable riches of Christ among the nations,

⁵ Hear, my beloved brothers, did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to the ones loving Him?

¹⁸ I advise you to buy from Me gold having been fired by fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, and your shame and nakedness may not be revealed. And anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

¹⁴ yea, for who am I, and who my people, that we should be able to offer willingly in this way? For all is of You, and we have given to You out of Your hand; ¹⁵ for we are strangers before You, and settlers, like all our fathers; our days on the land are like a shadow, and there is none abiding. ¹⁶ O Jehovah our God, all this store that we have prepared to build a house to You, for Your holy name, is out of Your hand, and all is of You.

²¹ And he said, I came naked out of my mother's womb, and naked I shall return there. Jehovah gave, and Jehovah has taken away. Blessed be the name of Jehovah.

¹⁶ And you took from your clothes and made for you high places of various colors, and fornicated on them, such as had not come, nor shall be. ¹⁷ And you have taken beautiful things of My gold and of My silver, which I had given to you, and you made images of males, and fornicated with them. ¹⁸ And you took your embroidered clothes and covered them. And My oil and My incense you have given to their face. ¹⁹ Also My food which I gave you, fine flour and oil and honey which I fed you, you have given it to their face for a soothing aroma. And it happened, declares the Lord Jehovah. ²⁰ And you have taken your sons and your daughters whom you have borne to Me, and you gave these to them for food. Are your fornications small? ²¹ You have slaughtered My sons, and you gave them to cause these to pass through the fire for them.

¹⁴ For it is as if a man going abroad called his own slaves and delivered his goods to them. ¹⁵ And to one indeed he gave five talents, and to another, two, and to another, one, to each according to his ability. And he went abroad at once. ¹⁶ And going, the one who received the five talents worked with them and made another five talents. ¹⁷ In the same way, the one with the two also did; he also gained another two. ¹⁸ But going away, the one who received the one dug in the earth and hid his lord's silver. ¹⁹ And after much time, the lord of those slaves came and took account with them. ²⁰ And coming up, the one who received five talents brought another five talents near, saying, Lord, you delivered five talents to me. Behold, I gained another five talents above them. ²¹ And his lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful over a few things; I will set you over many. Enter into the joy of your lord. ²² And the one who received two talents also coming up, he said, Lord, you delivered two talents to me. Behold, I have gained two other talents above them. ²³ His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful over a few things, I will set you over many. Enter into the joy of your lord. ²⁴ And the one who received the one talent also coming up, he said, Lord, I knew you, that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter; ²⁵ and being afraid, going away, I hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have yours. ²⁶ And answering, his lord said to him, Evil and slothful slave! You knew that I reap where I did not sow, and gather where I did not I scatter. ²⁷ Then you ought to have put my silver to the bankers, and coming I would have received my own with interest. ²⁸ Therefore, take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. ²⁹ For to each who has, more will be given, and he will abound. But from him who does not have, even that which he has will be taken from him.

⁴² But there is need of only one; and Mary chose the good part, which shall not be taken from her.

¹³ And calling ten of his slaves, He gave to them ten minas and said to them, Trade until I come. ¹⁴ But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, We do not desire this one to reign over us. ¹⁵ And it happened as he returned, having received the kingdom, he even said for those slaves to be called to him, those to whom he gave the silver, that he might know what each had gained by trading. ¹⁶ And the first came, saying, Lord, your mina has gained ten minas. ¹⁷ And he said to him, Well done, good slave! Because you were faithful in a least thing, have authority over ten cities. ¹⁸ And the second came, saying, Lord, your mina has made five minas. ¹⁹ And he said to this one also, And you be over five cities. ²⁰ And another came, saying, Lord, behold your mina which I had kept in a handkerchief.

³ For you died, and your life has been hidden with Christ in God. ⁴ Whenever Christ our life is revealed, then also you will be revealed with Him in glory.

⁴ to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled, and unfading, having been kept in Heaven for you ⁵ by the power of God, having been guarded through faith to a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time;

¹⁵ And if it seems evil in your eyes to serve Jehovah, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve, whether the gods whom your fathers served Beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to him, Go, Satan! For it has been written: "You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve Him only." Deut. 6:13

⁵⁰ And Jesus said to them, Do not forbid, for whoever is not against us is for us.

²³ The one not being with Me is against Me. And the one not gathering with me scatters.

²⁶ If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers and sisters, and besides, even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.

¹⁶ Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves to whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or obedience to righteousness? ¹⁷ But thanks be to God that you were slaves of sin, but you obeyed from the heart the form of doctrine to which you were delivered. ¹⁸ And having been set free from sin, you were enslaved to righteousness. ¹⁹ I speak as a man on account of the weakness of your flesh. For as you presented your members as slaves to uncleanness and to lawless act unto lawless act, so now yield your members as slaves to righteousness unto sanctification. ²⁰ For when you were slaves of sin, you were free as to righteousness. ²¹ Therefore what fruit did you have then in the things over which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. ²² But now being set free from sin, and being enslaved to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end everlasting life.

⁵ For the ones that are according to flesh mind the things of the flesh. And the ones according to Spirit mind the things of the Spirit. ⁶ For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace; ⁷ because the mind of the flesh is enmity towards God; for it is not subject to the law of God, for neither can it be . ⁸ And those being in the flesh are not able to please God.

⁴ Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whoever, then, purposes to be a friend of the world is shown to be an enemy of God.

¹⁵ Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, ¹⁶ because all that which is in the world: the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

¹⁵ But they rejoiced in my stumbling, and assembled; the defamers assembled themselves against me, and I knew not; they tore and were not silent, ¹⁶ with the ungodly, mockers for a cake, gnashing their teeth on me.

⁵¹ The proud have scorned me utterly; I have not veered from Your law.

³ He is despised and abandoned of men, a Man of pains, and acquainted with sickness. And as it were hiding our faces from Him, He being despised, and we did not value Him.

¹¹ yea, dogs greedy of soul; they do not know satisfaction. And they are shepherds; they know not discernment; they all look to their own way, each one for his own gain, from his own end, saying:

¹³ For everyone from the least of them even to the greatest of them cuts off a profit. And from the prophet even to the priest, everyone deals falsely.

¹⁰ So I will give their wives to others, their fields to those who shall inherit. For everyone from the least even to the greatest cuts off a profit. From the prophet even to the priest, everyone deals falsely.

⁷ O Jehovah, You have deceived me; yea, I was deceived. You are stronger than I, and You have prevailed. I am in derision all the day; everyone laughs at me. ⁸ For whenever I speak, I cry out, I proclaim violence and ruin; for the word of Jehovah has been to me a reproach and derision all the day.

²⁵ A plot by her prophets is in her midst, like a roaring lion tearing prey. They have devoured souls and they have taken the riches and gems. They multiplied her widows in her midst. ²⁶ Her priests have violated My law and have profaned My holy things. They have not divided between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and clean they have not taught. And they have hidden their eyes from the sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. ²⁷ Her rulers in her midst are like wolves tearing prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls, in order to gain unjust gain. ²⁸ And her prophets have daubed themselves with lime, seeing empty visions, and divining lies to them, saying, So says the Lord Jehovah, when Jehovah has not spoken. ²⁹ The people of the land have used oppression and practiced robbery. And they troubled the poor and the needy, and they have oppressed the stranger without justice.

³¹ And they come to you as people come, and they sit before you as My people. And they hear your words, but they do not do them. For they produce much love with their mouth, but their heart goes after their unjust gain.

¹³ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of Heaven before men; for you do not enter, nor do you allow those entering to go in.

⁵³ And they scoffed at Him, knowing that she died.

¹⁵ And He said to them, Beware, and keep back from covetousness; for one's life is not in the abundance of the things which are his.

⁴⁷ who devour the houses of the widows, and under pretense pray long. These will receive a more severe judgment.

³⁵ And the people stood watching. And the rulers with them also scoffed, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if this one is the Christ, the elect of God.

² For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, braggarts, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

³⁶ And others received trial of mockings and of floggings; yea, more, of bonds and of prison:

² looking to the Author and Finisher of our faith, Jesus, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, "and sat down at the right" of the throne of God. Psa. 110:1 ³ For consider Him who had endured such gainsaying of sinners against Himself, that you do not grow weary, fainting in your souls.

⁷ And Jehovah said to Samuel, Do not look on his appearance, nor to the height of his stature, for I have rejected him. For man does not see what He sees. For man looks for the eyes, but Jehovah looks for the heart.

¹⁷ And I know, my God, that You try the heart and are pleased with uprightness; I, in the uprightness of my heart, have offered willingly all these things; and now I have watched with joy Your people who are present here offering willingly to You.

³⁰ then You shall hear from Heaven, Your dwelling place, and shall forgive, and shall give to each according to all his ways, because You know his heart; for You, You only, have known the heart of the sons of men;

⁹ Oh let the evil of the wicked come to an end; and You will establish the just; for the righteous God is a trier of hearts and reins.

³ For the wicked boasts of his soul's desire, and he has blessed the covetous; he has despised Jehovah.

¹³ This way of theirs is folly to them, yet their followers shall be pleased by their mouth. Selah.

¹⁸ For in his life he blessed his soul; yea, men praise you when you do well for yourself.

¹ To the chief musician. A Psalm of David. O Jehovah, You have searched me and known me . ² You know my sitting down, and my rising up; You understand my thought from afar off.

⁵ Everyone proud in heart is disgusting to Jehovah; though hand join in hand he shall not be innocent.

⁶ Most men will proclaim each his own kindness, but who can find a faithful man?

² Every way of a man is upright in his own eyes, but Jehovah measures the hearts.

¹⁰ Hear the word of Jehovah, rulers of Sodom. Listen to the law of our God, people of Gomorrah. ¹¹ What good to Me are your many sacrifices, says Jehovah? I am full of burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fattened cattle, and the blood of bulls; nor do I delight in the blood of lambs and he goats. ¹² When you come to see My face, who has required this at your hand, to trample My courts? ¹³ Do not add to bringing vain sacrifice; its incense is an abomination to Me. I cannot endure the new moon and sabbath, the going to meeting, and the evil assembly. ¹⁴ My soul hates your new moons and your appointed feasts. They are a burden to Me. I am weary of bearing them .

¹⁰ I, Jehovah, search the heart, I try the reins, even to give to each man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.

²¹ I hate, I despise your feast days; and I will not delight in your solemn assemblies. ²² Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not be pleased; nor will I regard the peace offerings of your fat animals.

¹⁵ And now we are calling the arrogant blessed. Not only are the doers of wickedness built up, they also test God, and escape.

² Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, do not trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be glorified by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward.

⁵ And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the open streets so that they may be seen of men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward.

¹⁶ And when you fast, do not be as the hypocrites, darkening the face, for they disfigure their faces so that they may appear to men to be fasting. Truly I say to you that they have their reward.

⁵ And they do all their works to be seen by men. And they make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their robes.

²⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but within they are full of robbery and excess. ²⁶ Blind Pharisee! First cleanse the inside of the cup and of the dish, that the outside of them may become clean also. ²⁷ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitened graves which outwardly indeed appear beautiful, but within are full of bones of the dead, and of all uncleanness.

²⁹ But desiring to justify himself, he said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor?

³⁹ But the Lord said to him, Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but your inside is full of robbery and evil.

¹¹ The Pharisee was standing, praying these things to himself: God, I thank You that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.

²¹ And he said, I have kept all these from my youth.

²⁰ And watching carefully, they sent spies, pretending themselves to be righteous, in order that they might seize upon a word of His, so as to deliver Him to the power and to the authority of the governor.

²⁵ and because He had no need that anyone should witness concerning man, for He knew what was in man.

¹⁷ Thirdly, He said to him, Simon son of Jonah, do you love Me? Peter was grieved that He said to him a third time, Do you love Me? And he said to him, Lord, You perceive all things, You know that I love You! Jesus said to him, Feed My sheep!

¹⁸ Indeed, then, this one bought a field out of the reward of unrighteousness; and falling headlong, he burst in the middle, and poured out all his bowels.

⁸ And the heart knowing God testified to them, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as also to us.

²⁰ Because by works of law not one of all flesh will be justified before Him, for through law is full knowledge of sin. Psa. 143:2

²¹ Was not our father Abraham justified by works offering up his son Isaac on the altar? Gen. 22:9 ²² You see that faith worked with his works; and out of the works the faith was made perfected. ²³ And the Scripture was fulfilled, saying, "And Abraham believed God, and it was counted for righteousness to him;" and he was called, Friend of God. Gen. 15:6; Isa. 41:8 ²⁴ You see, then, that a man is justified out of works, and not out of faith only. ²⁵ But in the same way Rahab the harlot was also justified out of works, having received the messengers, and sending them out by another way.

⁴ but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of the meek and quiet spirit, which is of great value before God.

⁵ Likewise, younger ones be subject to older ones; and all being subject to one another. Put on humility, because God sets Himself "against proud ones, but He gives grace to humble ones." Prov. 3:34

²³ And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches will know that I am the One searching the inner parts and hearts. And I will give to each of you according to your works.

² and saying, Repent! For the kingdom of Heaven has drawn near.

¹⁷ From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, Repent! For the kingdom of Heaven has drawn near.

²³ And Jesus went around all Galilee teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every one of the illnesses among the people.

⁷ And going on, proclaim, saying, The kingdom of Heaven has drawn near.

⁹ But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and one more excellent than a prophet. ¹⁰ For this is the one about whom it has been written: "Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who shall prepare Your way before You." Mal. 3:1 ¹¹ Truly I say to you, Not has arisen among those born of a woman any greater than John the Baptist. But the least in the kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is. ¹² But from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent seize it. ¹³ For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John. ¹⁴ And if you are willing to receive, he is Elijah, the one about to come.

³² For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax-collectors and the harlots believed him. And seeing, you did not repent afterwards to believe him.

¹⁴ And after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom of God,

⁴⁵ But going out he began to proclaim much, and to spread about the matter, so that He no longer could openly enter into a city. But He was outside in deserted places. And they came to Him from every quarter.

²⁶ But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, even more than a prophet. ²⁷ This is he about whom it has been written: "Behold, I send My messenger" before Your face, who "will prepare Your way before You." Mal. 3:1 ²⁸ For I say to you, Among those born of a woman, no prophet is greater than John the Baptist. But the least one in the kingdom of God is greater than he is. ²⁹ And all the people and the tax collectors hearing, they justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

² And He sent them to proclaim the kingdom of God, and to heal the ones being sick.

⁹ And heal the sick in it, and say to them, The kingdom of God has drawn near to you.

¹¹ Even the dust clinging to us out of your city, we shake off against you! Yet know this, that the kingdom of God has drawn near to you!

²⁹ Abraham said to him, They have Moses and the Prophets, let them hear them.

³¹ And he said to him, If they will not hear Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if one from the dead should rise.

⁴⁵ Philip finds Nathanael and said to him, We have found the One of whom Moses wrote in the Law and the Prophets, Jesus the son of Joseph, from Nazareth.

⁴⁸ If we let him alone this way, all will believe into him, and the Romans will come and will take away from us both the place and the nation.

¹⁹ Then the Pharisees said to themselves, Observe that you gain nothing. Behold, the world has gone after Him.

¹⁸ But what things God before announced through the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ should suffer, He fulfilled in this manner.

²⁴ And also all the prophets, from Samuel and those following after, as many as spoke, also before announced these days. ²⁵ You are sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God appointed to our fathers, saying to Abraham, "Even in your Seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed." Gen. 22:18

²⁵ You have laid the foundation of the earth of old; and the heavens are the work of Your hands. ²⁶ They shall perish, but You shall endure; yea, all of them shall become old like a garment; You shall change them like clothing, and they shall be changed. ²⁷ But You are He, and Your years shall not be ended.

⁸ The grass withers; the flower fades; but the word of our God shall rise forever.

⁶ Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look to the earth beneath; for the heavens vanish like smoke, and the earth shall wear out like a garment; and its inhabitants shall die in the same way, but My salvation shall be forever, and My righteousness shall not be broken.

¹⁸ Truly I say to you, Until the heaven and the earth pass away, in no way shall one iota or one tittle pass away from the law until all comes to pass.

³³ The heaven and the earth will pass away, but My words in no way will pass away.

³¹ Then do we make law of no effect through faith? Let it not be! But we establish law.

²⁵ but the Word of the Lord remains forever." And this is the Word announced as gospel to you. Isa. 40:6 -8

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with rushing sound, and having burned the elements will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be burned up.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne, and the One sitting on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled; and a place was not found for them.

¹ And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea no longer is.

⁴ And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. And death shall be no longer, nor mourning, nor outcry, nor pain will be any longer; for the first things passed away.

³¹ It was also said, Whoever puts away his wife, "let him give her a bill of divorce." Deut. 24:1 ³² But I say to you, Whoever puts away his wife, apart from a matter of fornication, causes her to commit adultery. And who ever shall marry the one put away commits adultery.

⁹ And I say to you, Whoever shall put away his wife, if not for fornication, and shall marry another, that one commits adultery. And the one who marries her who was put away commits adultery.

¹¹ And He said to them, Whoever shall puts away his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. ¹² And if a woman puts away her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.

⁴ The wife does not have authority of her own body, but the husband. And likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife.

¹⁰ But I command the ones being married (not I, but the Lord), a woman not to be separated from her husband; ¹¹ but if indeed she is separated, remain unmarried, or be reconciled to the husband; and a husband not to leave his wife. ¹² But to the rest I say, not the Lord, if any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she consents to live with him, let him not leave her.

²⁶ And the weight of the rings of gold which he asked was a thousand and seven hundred shekels of gold, apart from the ornaments, and the pendants, and the purple clothing that was on he kings of Midian; also apart from the necklaces on the necks of their camels.

¹⁵ And Mordecai went out from before the king in apparel of the kingdom, of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple. And the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.

¹¹ They send their little ones out as a flock; and their children dance. ¹² They lift up voice at the timbrel and lyre, and rejoice at the sound of the flute. ¹³ They spend their days in good, and in a moment go down to Sheol. ¹⁴ And they say to God, Depart from us, for we do not desire the knowledge of Your ways. ¹⁵ What is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what do we profit if we entreat Him?

³ For I was jealous of the proud; I looked upon the peace of the wicked. ⁴ For there are no pangs to their death; but their body is fat. ⁵ They are not in the misery of mortal man; and with men they are not touched. ⁶ So pride enchains them; violence covers them like a robe. ⁷ Their eyes go out with fatness; they have passed the imaginations of the heart.

¹³ And you were adorned with gold and silver. And your clothing was fine linen and silk and embroidered work. Fine flour and honey and oil you ate. And you were very, very beautiful. And you advanced to regal estate.

⁴⁹ Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and her daughters. Also, she did not strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

⁷ Your sail was of fine linen with embroidered work from Egypt, an ensign for you, violet and purple from the coasts, of Elishah was your covering.

⁴ who lie on beds of ivory and stretch themselves on their couches; and those eating the lambs from the flock, and bull calves from the midst of the stall; ⁵ those chanting with the mouth of the harp; they invent instruments of song for themselves like David; ⁶ who drink bowls of wine, and they anoint with the best of oils; but they are not grieved for the breaking of Joseph!

¹⁷ And they put purple on Him, and they plaited and placed a crown of thorns on Him.

²⁰ And when they had mocked Him, they took the purple off Him, and put His own garments on Him. And they led Him out, that they might crucify Him.

¹⁶ And He spoke a parable to them, saying, A certain rich man produced well from the land. ¹⁷ And he reasoned within himself, saying, What may I do, for I have nowhere I may gather my fruits? ¹⁸ And he said, I will do this; I will tear down my barns and I will build larger; and I will gather there all my produce and my goods. ¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take rest, eat, drink, and be glad. ²⁰ But God said to him, Fool! This night they demand your soul from you; and that which you prepared, to whom will it be? ²¹ So is he treasuring up for himself, and not being rich toward God.

¹ And He also said to His disciples, A certain man was rich; and he had a steward, and this one was accused to him as wasting his goods.

²⁴ And seeing him having become very much grieved, Jesus said, How hardly those having riches shall enter into the kingdom of God! ²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to go in through a needle's eye than for a rich one to enter into the kingdom of God.

¹ Come now, rich ones, weep, howling over your hardships coming on. ² Your riches have rotted, and your garments have become moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver have rusted over, and their poison will be a testimony to you, and will eat your flesh as fire. You heaped treasure in the last days. ⁴ Behold, the wages of the workmen who have reaped your fields cry out, being kept back by you. And the cries of the ones who have reaped have entered "into the ears of the Lord of Hosts." Isa. 5:9 ⁵ You lived luxuriously on the earth, and lived in self gratification; you nourished your hearts as in a day of slaughter;

⁴ And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and being gilded with gold and precious stone and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominations and unclean things of her fornication.

⁷ By what things she glorified herself, and luxuriated, by so much give back to her torment and mourning. Because she says in her heart, I sit as a queen, and I am not a widow; and I do not see mourning at all.

¹⁶ and saying, Woe! Woe to the great city having been clothed in linen and purple and scarlet, and having been gilded with gold and precious stone, and pearls!

⁸ He raised the poor from the dust; He lifts up the needy from the dunghill, to cause them to sit with nobles; yea, He caused them to inherit a throne of honor; for to Jehovah are the pillars of the earth; and He sets the habitable world on them.

⁷ And Satan went out from before the face of Jehovah. And he struck Job with bad burning ulcers from the sole of his foot to the top of his head.

¹⁹ Many are the evils of the righteous, but Jehovah helps him out of them all,

¹⁴ For all the day long I was touched; and my chastening is at the mornings.

⁶ From the sole of the foot even to the head, no soundness is in it; only a wound and a stripe and a fresh blow; they have not been closed, nor bound up; nor was it softened with oil.

²² Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no healer there? Why then has the healing of the daughter of My people not come?

²¹ and longing to be filled from the crumbs that were falling from the table of the rich one. But coming, even the dogs licked his sores.

³⁵ And it happened as He drew near to Jericho, a certain blind one sat by the highway, begging. ³⁶ And a crowd passing through, he asked what this might be. ³⁷ And they reported to him that Jesus the Nazarene is passing by. ³⁸ And he cried out, saying, Jesus, son of David, pity me! ³⁹ And those going before rebuked him, that he be quiet. But he much more cried out, Son of David, pity me! ⁴⁰ And standing still, Jesus commanded him to be brought to Him. And he drawing near, He asked him, ⁴¹ saying, What do you desire I do to you? And he said, Lord, that I may see again. ⁴² And Jesus said to him, See again! Your faith has healed you. ⁴³ And instantly he saw again. And he followed Him, glorifying God. And seeing, all the people gave praise to God.

¹ And there was a certain sick one, Lazarus from Bethany, of the village of Mary and her sister Martha.

⁹ But let the lowly brother rejoice in his lifting up;

²⁷ But she said, Yes, Lord; for even the little dogs eat of the crumbs falling from the table of their lords.

²⁸ But she answered and said to Him, Yes, Lord; for even the dogs under the table eat from the crumbs of the children.

¹² And when they were filled, He said to His disciples, Gather up the fragments left over, that not anything be lost.

¹¹ Until the present hour we also hunger and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and wander homeless,

²⁷ in hardship and toil, often in watchings, in hunger and thirst, often in fastings, in cold and nakedness,

³⁴ And he came in and ate and drank, and said, Now look after this cursed woman and bury her, for she is a king's daughter. ³⁵ And they went to bury her, but did not find any of her except the skull, and the feet, and the palms of the hands.

¹³ For now I would have lain down and have been quiet; I would have slept. Then I would have been at rest, ¹⁴ with kings and wise men of the earth, who built ruins for themselves; ¹⁵ or with chiefs; they had gold, they filled their houses with silver; ¹⁶ or as a hidden miscarriage, I would not have been, like infants who never saw light. ¹⁷ There the wicked cease from turmoil, and there the weary are at rest; ¹⁸ The prisoners are at ease together, they hear not the voice of the slave driver; ¹⁹ the small and the great, he is there, and the slave free from his master.

¹³ They spend their days in good, and in a moment go down to Sheol.

³⁰ For the wicked is kept for the day of calamity; they shall be brought to the day of wrath. ³¹ Who shall declare his way to his face? And who repays him for what he has done? ³² Yet he shall be brought to the graves, and watch shall be kept over his tomb.

⁶ Those who trust in their wealth, and in their many riches, boast themselves. ⁷ A man cannot at all redeem a brother, nor give to God a ransom for him, ⁸ for the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceases forever, ⁹ for he shall yet live forever; he shall never see corruption. ¹⁰ For he sees wise men die; together the fool and the animal-like ones perish and leave their riches to others. ¹¹ Their inward thought is that their houses shall last forever, their dwelling-places to all generations; they call lands after their own names. ¹² But man shall not remain high in honor; he is like the animals; they shall be cut off.

¹⁸ Surely, You will set their feet in slippery places; You will make them fall into ruin. ¹⁹ How they are destroyed in a moment, swept away with terrors! ²⁰ Like a dream at the time from dreaming, O Lord, in awaking You will despise their image.

¹¹ For He shall give His angels charge over You, to keep You in all Your ways. ¹² They shall bear You up in their hands, that You not dash Your foot on a stone.

³² The wicked is thrust out in his wickedness, but the righteous has hope in his death.

¹⁰ And so I saw the wicked buried; and they came and went from the holy place, and were forgotten in the city, these things that they had done. This is also vanity.

¹⁸ All kings of nations, all of them lie in glory, each man in his house.

¹⁶ What is to you here? And who is here to you, that you have carved a tomb for yourself here, as one having cut out his tomb on high, having carved out a home for himself in the rock?

¹ The righteous one perishes, and no one lays it to heart; yea, merciful men are gathered, with no one discerning that the righteous is gathered from the face of evil. ² He shall enter peace; they shall rest on their couches, walking in his uprightness.

¹¹ But I say to you that many will come from east and west, and will recline with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of Heaven,

³⁸ And the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; but the darnel are the sons of the evil one . ³⁹ And the enemy who sowed them is the Devil, and the harvest is the end of the age, and the angels are the reapers. ⁴⁰ Then as the darnel is gathered and is consumed in the fire, so it will be in the end of this age. ⁴¹ The Son of man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all the offenses, and those who practice lawlessness. ⁴² And they will throw them into the furnace of fire; there will be weeping and gnashing of the teeth. ⁴³ Then the righteous will shine out like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. The one having ears to hear, let him hear.

¹⁰ See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in Heaven continually look on the face of My Father in Heaven.

³¹ And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from the ends of the heavens to their ends.

³⁶ For what shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world, yet damage his soul?

²³ But there was one of His disciples reclining at the bosom of Jesus, whom Jesus loved.

²⁰ But turning, Peter saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them, who also leaned on His breast at the Supper, and said, Lord, who is the one betraying You?

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits for service, being sent out because of the ones being about to inherit salvation?

¹⁴ Since, then, the children have partaken of flesh and blood, in like manner He Himself also shared the same things, that through death He might cause to cease the one having the power of death, (that is, the Devil);

¹¹ For the sun rose with the hot wind and dried up the grass, and its flower fell out, and the beauty of its appearance perished; so also the rich one will fade away in his ways. Isa. 40:6, 7

²⁴ who "Himself bore in His body our sins" onto the tree; that dying to sins, we might live to righteousness; of whom, "by His wound, you were healed.

¹³ And I heard a voice out of Heaven saying to me, Write: Blessed are the dead, the ones dying in the Lord from now. Yes, says the Spirit, they shall rest from their labors, and their works follow with them.

¹⁷ The wicked shall be turned to Sheol, all the nations forgetting God.

¹⁰ For You will not leave My soul in Sheol; You will not give Your Holy One to see corruption.

¹⁵ But God will redeem my soul from the hand of Sheol; for He will take me. Selah.

¹³ For Your mercy toward me is great; and You have delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol.

⁵ her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell,

²⁷ The ways of Sheol are in her house, leading down to the rooms of death.

¹⁸ But he does not know that the departed spirits are there; her guests are in the depths of hell.

²⁴ The path of life is upward to the prudent, that he may turn away from Sheol downward.

⁹ Sheol from below is stirred for you, to meet you at your coming; it stirs up the departed spirits for you, all the he goats of the earth. It has raised all the kings of the nations from their thrones.

¹⁵ Yet you shall be brought out to Sheol, to the sides of the Pit.

²² But I say to you, Everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause shall be liable to the Judgment. And whoever says to his brother, Raca, shall be liable to the sanhedrin; but whoever says, Fool! shall be liable to be thrown into the fire of Hell.

²⁹ But if your right eye offends you, take it out and throw it from you, for it is profitable to you that one of your members should perish and all your body not be thrown into Hell.

¹¹ But I say to you that many will come from east and west, and will recline with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of Heaven, ¹² but the sons of the kingdom shall be cast out into the outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of the teeth.

²⁹ And, behold! They cried out, saying, What is to us and to You, Jesus, Son of God? Have You come here beforetime to torment us?

²³ And you, Capernaum, who "have been exalted to the heaven, you will be thrown down to Hades." For if the powerful acts happening in you had taken place in Sodom, it would remain until today. Isa. 14:13, 15

⁹ And if your eye offends you, pluck it out and throw it from you; for it is good for you to enter into life one eyed, than having two eyes to be thrown into the Hell of fire.

³³ Serpents! Offspring of vipers! How shall you escape the judgment of Hell?

²⁸ And seeing Jesus, and crying out, he fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, What to me and to You, Jesus, Son of God the Most High? I beg You, do not torment me.

²⁸ There will be weeping and gnashing of the teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrust outside. ²⁹ And they will come from east and west, and from north and south, and will recline in the kingdom of God.

²⁸ (for I have five brothers, so that he may witness to them, that they not also come to this place of torment).

⁵⁵ "O death, where is your sting? Hades, where is your victory?" Hos. 13:14

⁴ For if God did not spare sinning angels, but delivered them to chains of darkness, thrust down into Tartarus, having been kept to judgment;

¹⁰ he also shall drink of the wine of the anger of God having been mixed undiluted in the cup of His wrath. And he will be tormented by fire and brimstone before the holy angels and before the Lamb. ¹¹ And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever. And those worshiping the beast and its image have no rest night and day, even if anyone receives the mark of its name.

¹⁰ And the Devil leading them astray was thrown into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet were . And they were tormented day and night forever and ever.

¹³ And the sea gave up the dead in it. And death and Hades gave up the dead in them. And they were each judged according to their works. ¹⁴ And death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death.

¹⁶ And Samuel said, And why do you ask me, since Jehovah has departed from you and is your foe?

¹¹ When its boughs dry up, they are broken off. Women shall come and burn them, for it is a people with no understanding. On account of this His Maker shall not pity him, and His Former will not favor him.

¹⁷ The poor and the needy seek water, and there is none; their tongue is parched for thirst. I, Jehovah will hear them; the God of Israel will not leave them. ¹⁸ I will open rivers in bare places, and fountains in the midst of valleys; I will make the desert for a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

¹³ So the Lord Jehovah says this: Behold, My servants shall eat, but you shall be hungry. Behold, My servants shall drink, but you shall be thirsty. Behold, My servants shall rejoice, but you shall be ashamed. ¹⁴ Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart, but you shall cry from heartbreak, and howl from breaking of spirit.

²⁴ And they shall go out and see the dead bodies of the men who have transgressed against Me; for their worm shall not die, nor shall their fire be put out; and they shall be an object of disgust to all flesh.

¹² And this shall be the plague with which Jehovah will strike all the peoples who have fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh shall rot while they stand on their feet, and their eyes will rest in their sockets, and their tongues shall rot in their mouths.

⁹ And do not think to say within yourselves, We have a father, Abraham. For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

⁴¹ Then He will also say to those on His left, Go away from Me, cursed ones, into the everlasting fire having been prepared for the Devil and his angels.

⁴³ And if your hand offend you, cut it off. For it is profitable for you to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go away into Hell, into the fire that cannot be put out, ⁴⁴ where their worm does not die, and the fire is not put out. ⁴⁵ And if your foot causes you to offend, cut it off, for it is profitable for you to enter into life lame, than having two feet to be thrown into Hell, into the fire that cannot be put out, ⁴⁶ where their worm does not die, and the fire is not put out. ⁴⁷ And if your eye offends you, cast it out. For it is profitable for you to enter into the kingdom of God one-eyed, than having two eyes to be thrown into the Hell of fire, ⁴⁸ "where their worm does not die and the fire is not put out." Isa. 66:24 ⁴⁹ For everyone will be salted with fire, and every sacrifice will be salted with salt.

⁸ Then bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say within yourselves, We have Abraham as father. For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham out of these stones.

³⁰ But he said, No, father Abraham, but if one should go from the dead to them, they will repent.

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said to her, If you knew the gift of God, and who is the One saying to you, Give Me to drink, you would have asked Him, and He would give you living water.

¹⁴ but whoever may drink of the water which I will give him will never ever thirst, but the water which I will give to him will become a fountain of water in him, springing up into everlasting life.

³⁷ And in the last day of the great feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.

³³ They answered Him, We are Abraham's seed, and we have been in slavery to no one, never! How do you say, You will become free? ³⁴ Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone practicing sin is a slave of sin. ³⁵ But the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. ³⁶ Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed. ³⁷ I know that you are Abraham's seed, but you seek to kill Me, because My Word has no place in you. ³⁸ I speak what I have seen with My Father. And you therefore do what you have seen with your father. ³⁹ They answered and said to Him, Abraham is our father. Jesus said to them, If you were children of Abraham, you would do the works of Abraham.

⁵³ Are you greater than our father Abraham who died? And the prophets died! Whom do you make yourself? ⁵⁴ Jesus answered, If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, whom you say is your God. ⁵⁵ And you have not known Him; but I know Him, And if I say that I do not know Him, I shall be like you, a liar. But I know Him, and I keep His Word. ⁵⁶ Your father Abraham leaped for joy that he should see My day, and he saw, and rejoiced.

¹² and a father of circumcision to those not of circumcision only, but also to those walking in the steps of the faith of our father Abraham during uncircumcision.

⁷ nor because they are Abraham's seed are all children, but "In Isaac a Seed shall be called to you." Gen. 21:12 ⁸ That is: Not the children of flesh are children of God, but the children of the promise are counted for a seed.

⁸ in flaming fire giving full vengeance to those not knowing God, and to those not obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, Isa. 66:15; Jer. 10:25

¹³ For judgment will be without mercy to the one not doing mercy. And mercy rejoices over judgment.

⁶ And the tongue is a fire, the world of iniquity. So the tongue is set among our members, spotting all the body, and inflaming the course of nature, and having been inflamed by Hell.

¹⁶ And they will not hunger still, nor will they thirst still, nor at all shall fall on them the sun, nor any kind of heat. ¹⁷ Because the Lamb in the midst of the throne will shepherd them, and will lead them on the living fountains of waters; and God will wipe off every tear from their eyes.

²⁰ And the beast was seized, and with this one the false prophet doing signs before it, by which he led astray those having received the mark of the beast, and those worshiping its image. The two were thrown alive into the Lake of Fire burning with brimstone.

¹⁵ And if anyone was not found having been written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the Lake of Fire.

¹ And he showed me a pure river of water of life, bright as crystal, coming forth out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

¹³ They spend their days in good, and in a moment go down to Sheol. ¹⁴ And they say to God, Depart from us, for we do not desire the knowledge of Your ways.

¹⁸ Yet He filled their houses with substance; and the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

³⁵ I have seen the wicked ruthless, even spreading himself out like a luxuriant, native tree; ³⁶ yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not; and I looked for him, but he could not be found.

¹¹ Their inward thought is that their houses shall last forever, their dwelling-places to all generations; they call lands after their own names.

⁷ Their eyes go out with fatness; they have passed the imaginations of the heart.

¹² Behold! These are the ungodly who are always at ease; they increase their riches. ¹³ Surely I have purified my heart in vain; and I have washed my hands in innocence. ¹⁴ For all the day long I was touched; and my chastening is at the mornings. ¹⁵ If I say, This is the way I will speak; behold, I would deceive a generation of Your sons. ¹⁶ And although I thought, that I might understand this, it was painful in my eyes, ¹⁷ until I went into the sanctuary of God; now I understood their end. ¹⁸ Surely, You will set their feet in slippery places; You will make them fall into ruin. ¹⁹ How they are destroyed in a moment, swept away with terrors!

⁷ In the days of her affliction and her wandering, Jerusalem remembers all her desirable things from previous days, when her people fell into the hand of the foe; and there is no ally for her. The foes saw her; they laughed at her annihilations.

²² And you, his son, O Belshazzar, have not bowed your heart, though you knew all this. ²³ But you have lifted yourself up against the Lord of Heaven. And they have brought the vessels of His house before you. And you, and your nobles, your wives, and your concubines have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver, and gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see, nor hear, and do not know. And you have not glorified the God in whose hand your life breath and all your ways is .

³⁰ In that night Belshazzar, the king of the Chaldeans, was killed.

⁴⁵ And if your foot causes you to offend, cut it off, for it is profitable for you to enter into life lame, than having two feet to be thrown into Hell, into the fire that cannot be put out,

²⁴ But woe to you, rich ones, for you have your comfort!

²³ And being in torments in Hell, lifting up his eyes, he sees Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosoms.

³³ I have spoken these things to you that you may have peace in Me. You have distress in the world; but be encouraged, I have overcome the world.

²² confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting to continue in the faith, and that through many afflictions we must enter into the kingdom of God.

⁷ because the mind of the flesh is enmity towards God; for it is not subject to the law of God, for neither can it be .

³ that no one be drawn aside by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are appointed to this.

²⁵ having chosen rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than for a time to have enjoyment of sin;

¹⁵ Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him,

¹⁴ And I said to him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are those coming out of the great tribulation; and they washed their robes and whitened them in the blood of the Lamb.

³⁶ And Abigail came to Nabal. And, behold, he was at a feast in his house, like the feast of the king. And Nabal's heart felt good within him, and he was drunk to excess. And she did not tell him a word, more or less, until the light of the morning.

¹⁴ Like sheep, they are appointed to Sheol; death shall reign for them; and upright ones shall rule over them in the morning; and their form is for rotting; Sheol is home for him.

²² Now think of this, you who forget God, lest I tear, and not any to deliver:

²⁴ And there will not be a pricking brier or a painful thorn to the house of Israel any more from all who surround them, those who hate them. And they shall know that I am the Lord Jehovah.

¹⁸ Then you shall again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between him who serves God and him who does not serve Him.

⁴⁶ And these shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into everlasting life.

⁵⁹ I say to you, in no way may you leave there until you pay even the last lepton.

³⁶ The one believing into the Son has everlasting life; but the one disobeying the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

⁴ so as for us to boast ourselves in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions, and the afflictions which you endure, ⁵ a clear token of the just judgment of God, for you to be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you indeed suffer; ⁶ since it is a just thing with God to pay back tribulation to the ones troubling you, ⁷ and to give you, those being troubled, relief with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from Heaven with angels of His power, ⁸ in flaming fire giving full vengeance to those not knowing God, and to those not obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, Isa. 66:15; Jer. 10:25 ⁹ who will pay the penalty: everlasting destruction from the face of the Lord, "and from the glory of His strength," Isa. 2:20 ¹⁰ when He comes to be glorified in His saints, and to be admired in all those who believe in that Day, because our testimony to you was believed. ¹¹ For the sun rose with the hot wind and dried up the grass, and its flower fell out, and the beauty of its appearance perished; so also the rich one will fade away in his ways. Isa. 40:6, 7 ¹² Blessed is the man who endures temptation, because having been approved he will receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to the ones loving Him.

¹ Come now, rich ones, weep, howling over your hardships coming on. ² Your riches have rotted, and your garments have become moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver have rusted over, and their poison will be a testimony to you, and will eat your flesh as fire. You heaped treasure in the last days. ⁴ Behold, the wages of the workmen who have reaped your fields cry out, being kept back by you. And the cries of the ones who have reaped have entered "into the ears of the Lord of Hosts." Isa. 5:9 ⁵ You lived luxuriously on the earth, and lived in self gratification; you nourished your hearts as in a day of slaughter; ⁶ you condemned; you murdered the righteous; he does not resist you. ⁷ Therefore, brothers, be long-suffering until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being long-suffering over it until it may receive the early and the latter rain.

¹¹ The one acting unjustly, let him still act unjustly; and the filthy, let him still be filthy; and the righteous, let him still do righteousness; and the holy, let him still be holy.

¹² But man shall not remain high in honor; he is like the animals; they shall be cut off. ¹³ This way of theirs is folly to them, yet their followers shall be pleased by their mouth. Selah.

⁴⁰ And with many other words he earnestly testified and exhorted, saying, Be saved from this perverse generation.

²³ but that the Holy Spirit testifies city by city saying that bonds and afflictions await me.

⁶ not to go beyond and to overreach his brother in the matter, because the avenger concerning all these is the Lord, even as we told you before, and solemnly testified.

²⁰ To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no dawn to them!

¹⁶ Search and read from the Book of Jehovah; not one of these misses, each not lacking her mate; for He has commanded my mouth, and by His Spirit He has assembled them.

² But to you who fear My name, the Sun of Righteousness shall rise up, and healing will be on His wings. And you shall go out and frisk like calves of the stall. ³ And you shall tread under the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day which I am preparing, says Jehovah of hosts. ⁴ Remember the law of My servant Moses which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, the statutes and judgments.

¹⁷ And the scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to Him. And unrolling the book, He found the place where it was written:

¹⁶ The Law and the Prophets were until John; from then the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is pressing into it.

²⁷ And beginning from Moses, and from all the prophets, He explained to them the things about Himself in all the Scriptures.

³⁹ You search the Scriptures, for you think in them you have everlasting life. And they are the ones witnessing concerning Me. ⁴⁰ And you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. ⁴¹ I do not receive glory from men; ⁴² but I have known you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves. ⁴³ I have come in the name of My Father, and you do not receive Me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive that one. ⁴⁴ How are you able to believe, you who receive glory from one another, and the glory which is from the only God you do not seek? ⁴⁵ Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father; there is one accusing you, Moses, in whom you have hoped. ⁴⁶ For if you were believing Moses, you would then believe Me; for that one wrote concerning Me. ⁴⁷ But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?

²¹ For in every city from ancient generations Moses has those proclaiming him, having been read in the synagogues on every sabbath.

¹¹ And these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, for they received the Word with all readiness, daily examining the Scriptures if these things are so . ¹² Then indeed many from among them believed, and not a few of the honorable Greek women and men.

¹⁵ and that from a babe you know the Holy Scriptures, those being able to make you wise to salvation through belief in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, ¹⁷ so that the man of God may be perfected, fully furnished for every good work.

¹⁹ and we have the more established prophetic word, in which you do well to take heed, as to a lamp shining in a murky place, until day dawns and the Day-star rises in your hearts; ²⁰ knowing this first, that every prophecy of Scripture did not come into being of its own interpretation; ²¹ for prophecy was not at any time borne by the will of man, but having been borne along by the Holy Spirit, holy men of God spoke.

³ No, I say to you; but if you do not repent, you will all perish in the same way.

²⁴ And calling he said, Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am suffering in this flame.

⁹ And men were burned with great heat. And they blasphemed the name of God, the One having authority over these plagues and they did not repent to give Him glory. ¹⁰ And the fifth angel poured out his bowl onto the throne of the beast. And its kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues from the pain. ¹¹ And they blasphemed the God of Heaven, from their pains and from their sores. And they did not repent of their works.

²⁷ God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall live in the tents of Shem, and Canaan shall be their slave.

⁴³ And saying these things, He cried out with a loud voice, Lazarus! Here! Outside! ⁴⁴ And the one who had died came out, the feet and the hands having been bound with sheets, and his face being bound with a cloth. Jesus said to them, Loosen him and let him go. ⁴⁵ Then many of the Jews, those coming to Mary, and having seen what Jesus did, believed into Him. ⁴⁶ But some of them went away to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. ⁴⁷ Then the chief priests and the Pharisees assembled a sanhedrin, and said, What are we doing, for this man does many miracles? ⁴⁸ If we let him alone this way, all will believe into him, and the Romans will come and will take away from us both the place and the nation. ⁴⁹ But a certain one of them, Caiaphas being high priest of that year, said to them, You know nothing, ⁵⁰ nor consider that it is profitable for us that one man die for the people, and not all the nation to perish. ⁵¹ But he did not say this from himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was about to die on behalf of the nation, ⁵² and not only on behalf of the nation, but that He also might gather into one the children of God who had been scattered. ⁵³ Then from that day, they took counsel that they might kill Him.

¹⁰ But the chief priests took counsel that they might put Lazarus to death also, ¹¹ because through him many of the Jews went away and believed into Jesus.

⁸ And going into the synagogue, he spoke boldly over three months, having reasoned with them, and persuading concerning the things of the kingdom of God.

²⁸ And Agrippa said to Paul, Do you persuade me to become a Christian in but a little?

²³ And having appointed him a day, more came to him in the lodging, to whom he expounded, earnestly testifying the kingdom of God and persuading them the things concerning Jesus, both from the law of Moses and the Prophets, from morning until evening.

³ But also if our gospel is being hidden, it has been hidden in those being lost,

¹¹ Then knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, and we have been manifest to God; and I also hope to have been manifest in your consciences.
